Guys be calm and allow the forensic experts within the police force to do their work in a few days we hope to see suspects in court and a lot more evidence emerging and some real names mentioned, prosecutions and we will get to the bottom of this all. Calm down! |
Hope this is still useful to you. Fruit cordials either cherry or strawberry flavor are used to give the cocktail that fruity taste. TORT refers to a measure used for spirits what we refer to as a SHOT for gin or whiskey. The tort glass is sold locally in most glass ware stores. Alcoholic cocktail or Chapman depends on choice. Like Gin and juice. |
I hope we are doing what seriously needs to be done at our airports and during check-in for all our local flights, at least. Before we go hear story. The way the boko haram boys are going I think they have a plan ahead of what the security agencies imagine.

Nice to meet you here EuroMeko. I have had this post dead for as long as you can see. I guess people just don't find time for recreation in this part of the world. People think the models are for kids and its sad that there are no support for new models or spares. My helis have been down for parts for a while I haven't flown in a while. But my Eflite indoor heli keeps me company. |
There are no standards here, and anybody can build what he likes anywhere. The building plan approval authorities are dead on this one. No estates for general housing. The private, personal abi individual sector is in charge. |

@usisky yeah, thanks I know what I need is a sequencer/video switch but I would have to buy one like the white man has planned it to be. However I wanted makeup something that works/ cheaper, very very much cheaper. I just couldnt find any of the video switch chips to do the Job in PH market. If you will agree with me the fun here is putting one up myself and my outdated idea is working pretty well, at the end. |
OK, a very simple one. 1. 1/2 30cl bottle fanta 2. 1/2 30cl bottle sprite 3. Juice from 1 fresh lemon 4. Fine sliced fresh cucumber - 3 or 4 circular cross cuts 5. 1 Tort, Cherry red 6. Dry Ice large cubes method. Place plenty ice in a large glass mug. Squeeze one fresh lemon and pick all seeds from juice. No need to sieve. Add cherry red on ice, then fill with equal portions of fanta and sprite. Add lemon juice and stir. Add cucumber slices into drink, place one slice on edge of glass mug. Insert straw and serve immediately. You may add some whiskey, vodka or gin if you prefer alcoholic Chapman. Enjoy. there are other recipes of mine for Chapman served my guests everyday. |

I have started work on constructing an 8 camera DVR sequencer. My need for this system is to allow my 4 channel DVR periodically record activity from 8 cameras. It should switch between 8 cameras at a predetermined sequence which of course will give priority to major camersa and just do reference recordings to some of the cameras. My schematic is schetchy but i will post it here eventually. the heart of the design is simple using a simple 555 timer and a 4017 decade counter. My switching will be achieved via 4 miniature relays. |
Arduino can also be described as a tool for making computers that can sense and control more of the physical world than your desktop computer. It's an open-source physical computing platform based on a simple microcontroller board, and a development environment for writing software for the board. Arduino can be used to develop interactive objects, taking inputs from a variety of switches or sensors, and controlling a variety of lights, motors, and other physical outputs. Arduino projects can be stand-alone, or they can communicate with software running on your computer (e.g. Flash, Processing, MaxMSP.). |
Something good came in the weekend. A friend of mine dropped me an Arduino board to learn the vast applications of this unique piece of computer electronics. Arduino is a physical computing platform based on a simple I/O board and a development environment that implements the Processing/Wiring language. Arduino can be used to develop stand-alone interactive objects or can be connected to software on your computer The Arduino Board

I will run a check for you from Port Harcourt where i reside. Some of the chips might be available. |
james86, you really can repair a some of your bad stuff if you want to, by your self, But you must first trouble shoot. and this has several stages in a repair process. If you find out the problem theneventually take your appliance out for repairs, you have at least completed some stage of the trouble shooting and repair process instead of having someone come and decide for you if the appliance need to go out to a repair man or not. Problems with home appliances or electrical items could arise from several factors. Light fittings, receptacles or sockets, switches, control knobs for cookers, fans etc. those things we come in contact with very often are usually the most ones to develope troubles. Someone might be able to help you with ideas if you can explain the failures with your kitchen electricals. |

Now you are beginning to see why there are no call centers in Nigeria, or online business (which is safer) isn't popular in Nigeria. |
dominique, I can say several nationalities, at least in central and west Africa, and outside Africa too. One thing you will notice outside Nigeria is that people are a lot more patient at least when they are out in public. In most cases people will make you feel comfortable, not embarrassed if you make an obvious mistake, instead of treat you as a fool they would be amused by your mistake and correct you or tell you its ok, it happens or just be silent and let you sort yourself out. This is not what I see back home in Nigeria. People would most likely make you feel odd and mock you when you make a mistake. I dont want to mention surprising comments I heard sometime when a friend lost N50,000.00 in a bank after withdrawal and was trying to finish someother business in the bank. I am not saying all Nigerians are rude but its very very common that you would get rude talk for instance if you knocked down a womans basin of oranges in the market by mistake. You possibly will get her yelling and cursing first. |
This is true amongst Nigerians, and its the air of unfriendliness that hangs around us. You can feel the hostility in most cases as you get around the town doing your business. Try stopping your car on the road and attempt a careful 3 point turn you will get what I am talkin about. Try leaving the line at the bank to the rest room and see what happens when you come back to the line. Asking the trader at the market why you should pay more for something you bought just last week. Pretend your car has broken down in the middle of traffic and you are trying to get the engine running again , in less than 1min you will hear your story being told by passers by. commot that pure water for road. You no go find driver? you de craze, thunder fire you, Ashawo! etc are common everyday. Can this trend be controlled or stopped? |
I have noticed this for sometime now. The patronage of Romance, Autos, food and Jobs threads etc outweigh that of technology. I am only wondering if this is a reflection of nairalander's true attitude to technology, innovative ideas or problem solving. However, the computer and mobile phone related threads are impressive. I would not be surprised if this thread eventually does not draw reasonable attention, because of the subject. Technology is simply the knowledge of how to do things. |
This is another one. a hydro electricity generator. would cost quite a bit to construct but might be worth the try. I have no estimates for tank size, pump capacity or turbine pipe diameter (ie gallons per min) etc etc, but the main overhead water tank needs to be replenished at the same rate of discharge to ensure that the tank is not emptied while generator is in operation. This project can be useful for small communities and holiday resorts. be willing to try this someday at a very small scale maybe.
