‘I’ve worked with him for 32 years and now I want to be on my own, I’ve tried! They should just leave me in peace’, he begged. If he really want to be on his own, he would have left quietly as many has done over the years. But what he wants is extra compensation so he can stop granting interviews. It doesn't make sense reconciling with someone who allegedly used him as a salve for decades. |
RealLordZeus:So, which part of Nigerian law mandates that the child belong to the sperm donor? |
kokoA:At least half of them will go bankrupt within 5 years. Airline business is cut throat business. |
jkpbestseries:Then be ready to see people queue to buy few beads produce daily. Layman "sense" doesn't work with economics. Many countries have learnt the lesson in a bitter and tragic way. |
Umueme:Don't be deceived. None of the governors are against borrowing and they will all borrow in the end. As to tax from public transporters being substantial, that seems like a joke to me. It is war collecting such paltry tax in the first place. |
Babalegba:When this type of case comes up. The most important question whether a law has been broken. Not sentiment not morality, but a matter of legality. If the man had used his police connection to arrest an arsonist or a product counterfeiter, would you people have complained? Of course, not, in fact, he would be seen as a hero. In a working system, Erisco would not need police connection to get Chioma prosecuted. I searched for the illegality on the police part in your post but I didn't see. Also, I checked your post for the specific harassment Chioma suffers but you didn't mention it too. I supposed you think flying a suspect to Abuja, questioning her and detaining her is intimidation and harassment. No, it isn't. Not in Nigeria. Many suspects undergo the same regularly without it making the news and even when it does, nobody cares. Binance executives were recently detained using unethical ploys. Nobody complained because they did something wrong. But this is civil case you argue, it isn't according to the Nigerian law, there is something called criminal defamation and more recently the anti-cyberstalking law. When this law was being debated, it got widespread support because people wants consequence for fake news and online harassment. Those who raised objections were mocked as troublemakers and bigots who hates the then government. By the way, Nigeria does not exist for other countries pleasure. And in your darling UK, insulting a fellow brit online can get you 5 years jail time. Something that is unheard of even in Banana republics. If you want more civility in the legal system, you have to work for it. And more importantly, always write against such treatment even when the suspect is a "bad" person and not an online celebrity reviewer. Personally, I prefer the US system where people can say what they like but face the possibility of being sued for every dime they have ever earned. |
broadman20:Irritating you? You must be one of the educated illiterates who thinks street sense is the same thing as legality. I know it is very hard for you guys to accept a world where sentiments is immaterial. If Mohbad's father really wants a DNA test, he should go get a court order. It is that simple. Personally, the widow should accept a DNA test and then bar Mohbad's father from having access to the child. That will be the best way of teaching the man a lesson. He should go to court to fight for visiting right to a child he constantly subjected to social media abuse. |
Ogene001:Don't put Emeagwali on achievers list. He is just a prize winner, nothing more. |
How dumb can Ipob be? Calling for an external investigation over a sovereign state? |
Where is the source? I sense fake news. |
Depriest2020: ![]() You should have known it is fake news. |
JohnAOne:You only incur a loss if you are a trader or speculator. If you are an FX earner, nothing changes. |
That sitting woman looks like one of these white garment prophetess. |
I can't see the issue with your lead. Stating that she is the one catering for you should not be a big deal. After all, parents and husbands also say the same thing when things go south. No, you can't treat a financial contributor and giver same way you will treat a taker. |
Correct. The first thing is to initiate a constitutional change bill in the national assembly. When it becomes legal, then you can talk about memorandum or what have you. |
Ofunaofu:You first need to lodge an official complaint with the police with verified list of your killed and maimed friends. After that, you will need evidence that the name you listed above actually killed and maimed the alleged victims. Then, we can take it up from there. |
Druglords are running a parallel government in South American states. |
AL1ENWARE:The primary cause of the inflation especially for local goods is the increase in petrol price, not dollar rate. The dollar rate also contribute especially for imported goods or those that depends on imported parts. Of course, Naira gaining should also affect prices but you should only look at how much Naira gains in the official market and not the black market. Finally, it takes time for such gain to materialise in prices as long as they are not temporary. |
He fled because he knew that Binance would not bail them out even if they are held forever. The FG has just lost one of its shaky leverage over Binance. Binance will rather let the executives rot in jail than accede to FG's request. |
Omoawoke:There is always speculation but speculators don't determine the exchange rate in strong economies. They make averagely marginal profit within a small time windows. Even in Nigeria, speculators wait for government announcements before making any move. They don't start a trend, they just amplify it. As to the real rate, you are right, there is no magical real rate setter anywhere. It should ideally be dynamic and determined by demand and supply. But in the case of Nigeria, I opine the "real rate" is any rate in which the speculators are content with marginal profit due to slight natural fluctuations in prices and are not looking forward to a near-term massive fall or rise. So to find out the "real rate" CBN will have to experiment with its rate fixing to find out but I doubt it wants to find out and risk losing control of the rate once again. |
Okay. |
Richtaiwo:That is not how it works. When the dollar was floated, it fell freely too fast due to the believe of many that a floated Naira will keep falling. Hence they bet against it. The CBN made a U-turn and fixed it. Along with crackdown on outside bank trades, it regained some value. Now nobody knows the "real" rate. Not the CBN and not the traders. If the traders sense that a CBN fixed rate is too low, they will start massive buying again and it will start rising again. |
searchng4love:No, it is US. It is time Putin invade the US. |
CodeTemplar:Posting a thrashy comment three times over. That's a sign of mental retardation. |
CodeTemplar:So, soldiers should have occupied Ughelli because Fulani killed people. I didn't know that Ughelli is owned by the Fulani's. |
Jokerman:Write a formal request to the university. |
He has a school cert. Where is the scandal? |
States inputs are not needed to legalize state police. Just change the relevant part of the constitution and the deed is done. No state should be forced to have one and no state should be prevented from having one. |
seanfer:This has nothing to do with Ukraine. Russia will do whatever it can militarily do in Ukraine regardless of what US wants. Russia's leverage over Ukraine is the nuke it possess. That hasn't changed the last time I checked. |
It is like Netanyahu is tele-guiding the security council. Imagine China and Russia to do his bidding without lifting a finger. |
grandstar:Someone pointed out that the video might just be scripted for content purposes only. The illegals usually avoid publicity, so he might be legal after all. |
