Melagros: COMRADES, I thought that this kind of bitter politics exists only in Nigeria, I don't know that it is all over the African continent Nothing bitter about it. My only suggestion is that it should be illegal to remove gifts after they have been willfully presented to the members of the public. Once you made such donations, it should automatically become the community's property. |

What is the nonsense noise about budget paddding? The job of the senate is to review the budget and slash down or increase sections of budgetary allocations it deemed fit.
Anyone against such should campaign for constitutional amendment so that the president no longer need to present budget to the senate. |

HarryGleb: When will the army revenge over the killings of their colleagues in the north or are they afraid of northerners? When did that happen and what is the village name? Note, there is no village called "the North". If you are referring to bandits, they have no village, they are nomadic raiders who resides in the forest. Even at that, there was a recent revenge drone strike on a Kaduna village. If you are still in doubt go and read Amnesty International report about the Boko haram war. The details are quite gory. Whether in the North or South, the Nigerian army uses crude collective punishment methods when on revenge mission. I am not justifying it, just debunking the 'bias' narrative. |

Good. Biden have been pretending there was no coup in Niger and he kept giving aids to Niger even though it was illegal to provide aids to country under military dictatorship.
Now that Niger has cut the ties all by itself, the US drone base will be closed and the aids will stop flowing. |

HugeElephant: You don't need to threaten him. He can spend the money and get away with it. He can claim he was also expecting transfers from other sources.
The only thing they can do is wait till he has enough to refund them (if at all he wants to) Individuals are responsible for wrong transfers and not the receiving account details. He can get away with it if the transfer was made by an illiterate. Since this is a supermarket in this case, then there is no getting away with it. Even without using the extra-legal Nigerian factor(they will definitely use it), it won't end well if he spent the money. You are partly right though, he may get away with it if he decides to stop using Nigerian banks permanently. |

Did u ask the people that you are advising if they can afford star link plus at least 35k subscription monthly? Abi u just wan show yourself.
.funny thing is that I can bet my balls that u do not have and cannot afford star link You must have a very limited exposure to complain about 35K subscriptions per month. How much do you think heavy internet users pay per month on regular netwroks, 1K? You see, the OP asked for options of which I provided a working one. If you can't afford it, you don't need to start beating about prices. Just like phones, you don't have to use iPhone 15 pro max, a low end Tecno may just do for you. |

Business › Re: FG Seeks Fresh Court Order To Extend Detention Of Binance Executives by ivolt: 1:24pm On Mar 16, 2024 |
Tealcrestmedia: This can be like a two edged sword and have a negative effect on investor confidence. If there are charges, charge them quickly or let them go on bail. You can't be detaining someone for over a month and you're yet to build your case, it's really not good. You can release them on bail and have custody of their travel documents. Apart from the money laundering allegations (no kyc for top users, because it's obviously crypto and that's how it works), I don't think there's any other huge crime in running an exchange platform.
They should remember too that we have Nigerian entrepreneurs looking to do business globally. You are mostly correct. But the part about top users not having KYC is definitely not true. In fact, top users are subjected to more stringent KYC and scrutiny than low volume traders. Crypto doesn't mean no KYC. People who don't want KYC don't join centralised exchanges, What the FG wants is that Binance gives it all the data of Nigerian users so that it can find at least one person who violates one law and maybe force some to give up their assets. Similar to how they arrests hundreds of Yahoo boys on the suspicion of owning a laptop and then charging very few of them. In order to establish money laundering, the government has to prove that the source of funds are illegitimate. Since Binance doesn't accept cash, the investigation should have started from Nigerian banks which is the gateway for Nigeria based crypto payments. If the government is really trying to fight money laundering, it should start with the accounts of BDC operators. By now, the FG should have one suspect's name even without Binance assistance since it has access to all Nigerian banking transactions. But they are still waiting on Binance. |

xxxx999jon: oh jeez what a pity . nd you get Sense small ooo.. but where you knocked me off is where you said cbn should open it's own shop too on binance . Abeg how is that different from govt official rates or what exactly do you think is the meaning of official rates vs black market rates and defending the naira
Point is JP Morgan said in November that we have just $7bn total everywhere in the world has a country, how can we defend the naira with $7b .
The govt had no choice under the heaven than to allow floating or else the coffers will be empty My suggestion was based on CBN's point of view. If it really believes(I don't) that Binance determines the Naira exchange rate, then the most rational way to proceed is to work from within Binance itself. Yes, speculators widens market volatility but they are not the cause. |
