OrdercityWeb: Yoruba men stop marrying Igbo women, you're breeding a lost generation who don't know the roots of their father. They are manipulated by your wife and her family that's why most of them lean towards their mom's side People with primitive caveman mindset like you are fast becoming extinct. It is unfortunate that your education was a waste. |

This kind of useless posts keep creeping up. The reason why any lady is not married is because she hasn't found her spec or have decided never to marry, not all these childish lists.
I see no reason why an individual's personal choice should become a burden to others. |

princeSammyz: And I keep wondering what even made sex outside marriage a sin... Every other sin seem to be some kind of harm against a neighbor or against God, but sex, mutual pleasure for two consenting adults... I keep wondering The problem is not that extramarital sex is a sin(at least no one is forced to play by the rule), the problem is some hypocritical sanctimonious people who believe they are better than others because they are christians, yet they practise everything those "of the world" do including fornication. |

I could go on and on
Your statement is outdated His statement may be outdated but the entitled men of these days are just so annoying. Instead of struggling on their own, they demand a woman stay loyal to them and if she doesn't she is subjected to various blackmail including being accused of being materialistic(which everyone is by the way. This kind of story will stop coming up when both men and women realise that no one owes them a dime for being male or being female. |

Was she supposed to go before? I don't like things like this, makes it look like it shouldn't be the norm. We have lots of materialistic women around, but it's common sense and proof of loyalty to stand by your loved one. That's how it should be!!
She was also broke, and the guy stayed with her too.
Is she the only one that could have left? The guy can also hook a rich woman, do women think they're the only one with richer options?
She try, but na the guy try pass... It is obvious you live in an utopia, nobody deserves less! While I am strongly against a partner staying in a relationship because of hope, her message is clear enough: that life is a gamble and she won big time. |

RichyBlacK: What are you saying? You just listed two things that negatively affect the practice of human sacrifice and then ignore the reality that those factors will hamper the practice?
Difference between 100 years ago and now regarding human sacrifice: 1. Indisputably labeled a crime - makes the practice more risky 2. Done in secret - makes the practice more arduous 3. Less adherents due to Christianity - means less people that view human sacrifice as okay 4. Less adherents due to education - means less people willing to be fooled by dirty old decrepit men chanting gibberish in smelly huts in remote locations 5. More efficient information flow - means more people are aware of the fraud called juju. All of the above creates difficulties for an outdated practice.
The then famous Okija shrine was raided by policemen and the priest and maintainers of the shrine were arrested. If juju was as powerful as some people want us to believe, with all the fear-mongering talk, why didn't the Okija priests disappear or use their juju against the policemen? Plain old fraud!
You're correct that some Nigerian Christians don't practice what Christianity teaches, however, the few that do are still relevant to the discourse.
Maybe you're new on this forum, but long before I posted this article, I have argued on this forum about the fraudulent nature of ALL juju claims, not some but ALL of them.
Your supposition that my taking a stance on juju and my posting this article have a causal relation is premature. My stance on the fraud of juju is only a reiteration of my long-held view and not because of one article. I hope this is clear to you.
Nevertheless, the article puts in perspective, the fraudulent nature of juju claims. While I agree that general "juju" efficiency idea is false, there is however a different "proof" which you seem to ignore, it is good enough for gullible people to be wowed by it. It goes thus: Juju Man: If you think my juju is a fraud drink this poison or touch this item and you will start convulsing. Audience: Echoes in agreement Skeptic: I can't drink your poison. Juju Man: You can all see for yourself that I am right, the skeptic is scared shit of the power of my juju. Who else don't believe that I can conjure money, fly unaided and remotely control people ? Audience: We believe you. The conclusion doesn't follow the argument, but it is sufficient for most believers. |

How does intertribal marriage preserve culture? What then is your identity if you are from different places at the same time? Discouraging intertribal marriage IS NOT EQUAL TO tribalism. Tribalism has nothing to do with that, it's a mindset and you can still be a tribalist even in an intertribal marriage like the example i sited in the OP. Please reply intelligently and with facts and not appealing to emotions or trying to sound politically correct. Face REALITY PLEASE. ... Franco93: Exactly what we need. This is so good. Our educational system is collapsing. We need a well recycled western eduction.
We need to update our syllabus to the latest knowledge and discoveries. During my secondary school days, my teacher taught me with the same note, she was taught during her secondary school days, and she is even proud of it. Now in my university, our lecturers recycle 2007/2008 past questions and set for us. Now tell me how we can excel beyond our predecessors?
Last semester, I had an argument with my lecturer that the sun moves, and he threatened to fail me if I write it in the examination, because his outdated lecture note says otherwise. Dangote, we need your standard school, my children will attend. Are you willing to pay the price ? |

Josephjnr: Personally, I see those who protest or claim to be activist for something as being part of the problem rather than solution. There are other ways one's voice can be heard. #Bring back our girls# frustrated a lot of people but failed to mention dying soldiers and never did any of them go to Sambisa to help return one of the chibok girls. Easy said than done. So if you can't do,shutp up and let those that are trying do rather than insulting and frustrating their effort. They should let police do their jobs for this is not the first time someone is escaping from custody.it happens all round the World. I am not surprised, people who can't see beyond their nose can't understand the reason behind protest for justice. Protests handed Indian their independence, it also brought Buhari back home. You will rather the people allow a vicious murderer to escape justice. |
