Confused man,
he has been on decline since he divorced his wife.

I made that statement because I do not understand the current situation in Nigeria regarding marriage. The last time I was home was when I was 14. But I have seen the trend in my families and neighbors and I was almost excited about the thought of change. I will not sit here and criticize our men because our parents especially our mothers has failed to correct the situation. They need to teach the sons a better strategy to treat women. Because these sons become husband and fathers in the future. Therefore, the cycle continues. I wonder if these things are discussed in school, do you know?

Our schools don't care about such social issues.

It is not even acknowledged as a problem by most
people except it results in death or a serious injury.

Even in those cases many will condemn the
man for going too far while blaming the woman for
"provoking" her husband.

But I have hope that social media exposure may help
reshape the minds of young men and help them realise
that violence is not an acceptable way of resolving problem.

What makes you think he has not been cheating on her? Do you think if she was the one that reported to the police, they will come rushing over like they did for him? Won't they say, its a man's world!! All men are bound to cheat? Why does it hurt men to be paid in their own coin?? Like I said earlier, if she cheated on a devoted and faithful husband, she no try at all.

So if your husband is cheating on you, you will start sleeping
around in revenge ?

Why didn't she get the hell out the marriage ?
If she is divorced she can hire 10 men per day
no one will care.

I suspect she is a jobless wife who depends on

If a man loves u , never use it as a weapon against him, do u know some women sex starve their husband for years? Like less than 5 times in a year? Do u know how that feels? Again, you see what you want to see so you can make a comeback. Did I ever generalize? If you read ALL my comments, I said this is from things I've seen. I have not met a quarter of the Nigerian population so how can I define the average home? From when I was young, I stated what I have witnessed. But if it's changed now then that's beautiful. But obviously, this man in the post did not change. My question to you would be: do you agree with hitting your wife because she did not have sex with you?

Don't mind eph12, nothing has changed, many Nigerian men don't see their wives
as companions but servants and should the marriage has problem, the wife takes the
blame.
Even some "enlightened" men are not left behind as they want to retain the
overlord privilege enjoyed by their grand fathers, this won't have been a problem
but they want such privilege even when they fail to perform their primary duty.

And no they do have the support of their husbands because they are richer but because the know how to relate with their husbands. They know how to handle his emotions and massage his ego. If the bold is correct , then the husbands of such women deserve award
and should their financial statuses change, the husbands has nothing to
fear as the same respectful and supportive environment they have created

That aside I have seen many wives or mothers control their homes, not because they earn more but because they know how to handle their husbands. They know how to massage his ego and have their way. It's wisdom and easier instead of trying to fight for supremacy.

Arabic has a lot of economic value!I have a friend that had to enroll for arabic studies when seconded to saudi arabia,by an international oil Giant!

Arabic ,just like english ,french,spanish,etc, is fast becoming an international language

Your friend qualifying to work in Saudi Arabia is his personal achievement
and I see nothing to celebrate in there for an average Nigerian.
Never put Arabic language together with English and French, they
are not in the same class.
Most Scientific breakthroughs are published in English, French and German,
same cannot be said of Arabic whose only claim to fame is Islam.

The earlier you remove religious sentiments from intellectual discuss,the better for you.

True,Arabic is the language of Islam by virtue of the fact that Mohammed was an Arabian.

Why do you think your friend qualified to work in Saudi Arabia when Saudi
has an unemployment rate of 30% ?
Because the myopic Saudi Monarchy are only interested in sponsoring Arabic/
Islamic studies which made most of its citizen incapable of administration.
Yet, you want to import a language which has failed to uplift its native speakers
and force Nigerian kids to learn it ?
If you remove religious sentiment from your argument, you will realise that Arabic
is economically useless to Nigerians.

But the truth is,not all Arabs are Muslims.

This statement is meaningless in this context, Arab are group of people
who speak Arabic so we would expect that some percentage of non-muslims
also speak Arabic but that doesn't in any way justify the inclusion of Arabic
language in a Nigerian curriculum.

C.A.N should fight for inclusion of Jewish language in to the curriculum,not antagonizing the fight of others to include Arabic as a language to be studied..

CAN will be a big fool to fight for a useless right which do nothing
but increase the endemic inferiority complex in our society.

Rational people and groups fight for right to Life, Security,
Health, Wealth and preservation of Cultural identity while
the deluded ones fight for right to learn a useless language.

Any group fighting for the teaching of a foreign language
because of their religion is misguided and useless.

Fight for your own right ,do not fight against people's right to study Arabic.

The state owes you nothing in terms of religious education, send your kids
to madrassa if you want them to learn Arabic.

1.Arabic studies was introduced as an alternative LANGUAGE to French.Adding Islamic to Arabic is a mere mischief.

Islamic Arabic studies does not not make any meaning.Arabic is the name of the Language of Arabs.Not all Arabs are muslims!!!!!!.

French,Arabic,English,Spanish,German,etc are taught in most developed countries as international languages ,no religious strings are attached.

Arabic especially is taught even in christian dominated countries like England and USA,as a language!

I have a friend who had to enroll for Arabic(not Islamic) studies ,having being seconded to Saudi Arabia,by an international oil company.


2.Both Muslims and Christians are to study Islamic and Christian knowledge, for religious understanding and harmony,under one subject: CIVICs.

The earlier you accept the fact that Arabic language is fast becoming an international language,the better for you.

If your headache is the word Islamic,I can only let you cry alone and die in your religious intolerance and Islamophobia.

Is any Christian being forced to study Islamic Arabic studies? capital NO!

Our discussion was based on finance or money. I don't claim to be unaware of how evil some men can be but they are totally unrelated things in my opinion.

The discussion was about husband and wife behaviour in relation to relative financial
