[color=#000099 I think before leaving Nigeria, people should look at where they could easily get VISA first and once in Canada, you can start worrying about PR...I do agree with you on that other provinces might be a lot easier because they need people so they will do more to accommodate and lure people to their province.[/b][/color]
Pls expantiate on the bolded abeg. Are there provinces that VOs favour more when approving visa?

Me sef, I been wan tell say I know ur moniker... All of you GBIUSA thread members ehn....
My advice Patty, apply alone...Your children might not need to apply cos they are US Citizens..I don't think they need Visa to enter Canada.
Apply alone, using them and hubby as home tie. Then when you get TRV, you can take them along... Make sure though you specify them in the family form and their place of birth so no case of omission or mis-representation will come up..
I once did an assessment online for my family and when it got to the point of my baby, result was I do not need Visa for the baby as He is an America Citizen...I think you just do some form of paperwork at the POE.. My take is to do a lot of research online...You stand a better chance if you don't include them in your application..
I stand to be corrected though!
.Just like you, I cannot leave my children for any reason..

You may be right sha. Will have this in mind.

Not very likely to be comfortable moving about every hour (you'll probably fall asleep or just too lazy to do this) imagine 4 preggies on a flight
Drinking gallons of water means peeing loads of times(and fitting into the small convenience )
So if these aren't things you are gonna do the least is to wear compression socks which are not just for swollen feet but also to prevent the risk of blood clotting in you.
pls if you don't mind me asking, what's the difference between this compression socks and pop socks? I saw it at Healthplus the other day and they said the price is 6.5k shocked The thing looks so ordinary and I couldn't understand how it works cos it looked so much like the pop socks I wore those days in primary school cheesy

Try pigeon portable electric breast pump. Itz small and does a good job. U can as well use batteries if u are out of electricity. It works so good and is durable. I used it every single day for my first upto 6 and half months and now using same for my new baby now 3 months old and still using daily. We first got medella manual pump which didn't last for more than 2 weeks for my first then we got the ever so good pigeon.

ok sis. Will weigh my options and settle for either Pigeon or Medela.

After searching online
Heard madela symphony is the best costs $1300
Next best is madela freestyle(it pumps both breasts and its hands free costs about $350
Madela swing takes a lot of time to pump and can only pump one breast at a time and you have to hold it but it's about $100
All are electric.heard manual pumps are useless for first timers donno
Was told to request for an European cord as it won't work in naija due to voltage difference
So no buggie for me yay!
Can someone pls confirm this statement kiss Shelly23 and pattyreal

If you produce a lot of milk, then please buy the medela electric pump. It is worth every expensive dollar it costs! Especially if you plan to have more kids. I've had mine since my first son 4 yrs ago and brought it with me for my new baby, in between my sister and cousin used it sef (they bought their own accessories though).
If your milk flow isn't that much, then the manual on should work just fine. I got a free one from the hospital and use it when I don't feel like plugging the electric one.
If you end up with the electric one, make sure you buy extra membranes cos they wear our pretty quickly depending on how much you use the pump sha.

Ok sis. Will get it then. Thought the oyinbos were over hyping it.

Yes to pump, no to buggie.... So useless, packed away.

What brand do you recommend abeg! I don't trust all those oyinbo women singing praises of medela electric breast pump. An African woman's breast is different and that medela is quite expensive undecided

Just a gentle note that to Americans, when people say "Jesus!" it sounds like they are swearing / cussing / taking the name in vain. I know it is a prayerful sort of exclamation here, but those of you who travel to the United States may wish to consider breaking the habit to avoid misunderstandings....
Lol. My professor mentioned this in my Cross-cultural Psychology class. Am glad an American is attesting to it. wink

Let me explain it the way the mw explained to me-

The lotion sometimes block the skin openings of newborns and encourage baby rashes and other skin irritations, hence I was advised to use natural products as much as possible for the first few months. I was actually told to use olive oil but I tried shear butter cuz it's natural as well and it's been perfect for my baby.

That said, all babies are different and some might not react to lotion but with Naija heat, hmnnnnnnn
Do you mix it with anything? Since it's usually not in liquid form, it needs a lot of message to spread all over the skin. Wouldn't that be too hard for a baby's tender skin? #JustCurious

@PrinceAdeAde

You can call DELTA to keep your child return ticket open so that it will save you money whenever he/she want to travel to US.
Congratulation. God Bless Your Home. Amen.
Hello segbas, is a ticket not valid for only one year? How does one keep it open?

Hello All,

My wife and boy got back yesterday. New learning points to share
1. Buy round trip for baby ticket: Delta quoted about $465 for one way and just $135 for round trip so she sharply tongue purchased the round trip
2. E no easy to travel without support: just stressing this as a lot of mothers have already put in a word on this so you may just want to plan your spouse come arnd and travel back with you
3. DELTA AIRLINE Customer service SULKS: Wifey was extremely mad about their treatment, She requested for wheelchair assistance for instance and only got it in lag, they totally ignored her on the US leg and other stuffs they did. the only issue is that they and united are the only carriers to offer direct flight to US. Gulf carriers are excellent in customer service, emirates is my personal flying favorite

Take kia all as you may be seeing me less here but wld sure keep checking to see how to help my next American parent.

For those planning to give birth in oakbend, tvegas summary nailed all the details you could ever need
Awwwwwww kiss Congratulations princeAdeade. Hope to see you back here in 6months grin

Did delta provide a bassinet for wify?

Pls all, about this shea butter (ori), does it really work? I've seen women swear by it, but when I started using it on my skin I didn't notice much difference; instead it gave me pimples. Or did I get an adulterated one ni? Though it didndid not work for me, I still belief in the potency only that am scared of using it for my baby.

How do you recognise an original one? I see alot of sellers on the streets these days
