donjazzet: Yeah WARNINGThis is just a rough calculation from my head. At no point will this pass as professional advice. So, I am assuming you want it to last for about 12 hours everyday, shey? (As OBO wey you be) An 8KVA system is just like a 6.8KW system For 12 hours 6.8KW * 12 = 81,600Wh (This is what you need daily) For Panels. We assume Nigeria has 6 hours of sunlight everyday 81,600/6 = 13,600W (This is the size of panel you need). But panels come in 300W, 450W, 545W, blah blah blah. So for a 545W panel, you need 13600/545 = 25 panels (approx) For Battery. Common Deep cylce are in 12V 81,600/12 = 6800Ah Since they come in 200AH, you would need about 32 batteries (I am envisaging a 48 volt system in series) For Charge Controller 13600/48V system = 283A So i need 3 pieces of 80 Amps Charge controllers Summary 25 Panels 32 Batteries 3 Charge Controllers This is because i chose 12 hours oh. Thats too much. If you reduce the hours, it will definitely become less |

BlueRayDick: Dey play!
The exchange rate wahala is touching everything in this freaking economy.
Look at the bottle water issue this way: They use PET resin to produce the plastic bottle; the company that manufactures the PET resin here in Nigeria sources for dollar at the current exchange rate now since the floating of the dollar to purchase raw materials. They will pass that incremental cost down to the company that actually manufactures the plastic bottle from the PET resin. That cost will further be passed down to the bottle water company who will then pass it down to the final consumer.
The scenario above applies to dem Coca-cola, Pepsi/7up Bottling company and other companies who use PET bottle to package their drinks/beverages.
Tinubu saying "I am not worried about the dollar" during the campaigns is one of the most financially irresponsible statement any would-be leader has ever made. Tinubu is just like Buhari; Their goal is just to be president. Nothing more, nothing less. When we asked for debates, we were schooled on how it doesn't matter. They were quick to point flaws on other candidates, but built a wall of defence around the Master strategist. I also remember when this dollar statement was defended here. I am painfully glad that everybody is reaping the fruit of this error. |

From Politics to business to the corporate world, people outgrow assliccking and want to be someone greater or even an equal. Itsrm: No one pays compensation for an "illegal" structure.
I will just add that those who aided and collected bribe to issue permits to the owners of those houses should be prosecuted alongside.
But then, this is Nigeria. My exact issue with the whole thing. We can blame people for building on illegal sites, but how can that be possible without the government not knowing? I saw my mum build a house from scratch, and you don't even need to find permits. Na dem go come lock site sef. Where in this world will someone build on an illegal land abd stay for 5-10 years, only for government to come and scatter it later? Can i go to Ghana and start building without someone halting completely for being on an illegal site? Not USA oh, Ghana wey dey here. This thing na pure racket. |

Pearl1910: I just watched some videos of houses being demolished in Festac and my question is why did these people sink in billions and millions in an illegal venture? It's painful and sad but to be objective, I think these people knew one day, this will happen. They were wrong to build in these places. But Govt should also not be selective in this demolition exercise let them visit other places same infractions have been committed. I tend to agree with people who call these whole stuff a racket. There is no way you would build anything in Lagos, that you won't be bamboozled with permits. From Local governments, to LASBCA, na so you go dey pay. So how come nobody told them it was illegal? Why will the government be giving permits for illegal structures? Today, Epe is the new rave. I have not seen Lagos state warning people not to buy there. 10 years later, you will hear that the place was for a future nuclear station. It's possible, but nobody will intentionally sink hundreds of millions to build on somewhere illegal. |

Djdamian: Let's paint a scenario you all can relate with and I believe most of you have experienced this one time.
Lanre was called for an interview for a life changing job offer at Ajah and he resides at the maindland. The cost of going to the company via public transport is 6k. He borrowed this money from friends and family with the hope of paying back when he starts work and receive his first salary. This scenario is a typical life of the "TENANT".
Then same day,a driver Mr Adeniyi wakes up in the morning ,a man who doesn't regard the laws of God and man. The bus he has is a sole means of livelihood for himself and his family. This scenario is a typical life of the LANDLORD who builds a house without proper authorisation and approval from government.
Fate brought these two together.Lanre boarded Mr Adeniyi bus from Abule Egba to Ajah and paid a transport fare of 3k naira to the driver. On getting to Oshodi, due to driver's lack of regards for the law, he passed one way road to beat traffic. LASTMA or Lagos state task force caught up with him and impounded his bus with no hope of ever getting it back.
Poor Mr Adeniyi whose only means of livelihood was taken away from him because of his carelessness and disregard for the law. Lanre who has a job interview at Ajah is stranded at Oshodi without enough money on him.
@ TheModerator , Gentlelife50 , NewDea4 , izzou , Pearl1910
With an objective mind ,what do you think will happen in this situation. Will Lanre leave his money with the Driver because of sympathy? Apples and Oranges, sir. But let me work with your example. You said the Driver passed one way and broke the law; synonymous with a Landlord building illegally, right? So why did you as a tenant not carry out due diligence before renting? The building was illegal, so why did you pay for it? Your earnest prayer should be that you do not find yourself in such unfortunate situation. If you think you will collect 1 kobo from any Landlord in Nigeria, be it Dangote, na serious play you dey. Or you think the millions of tenants that have walked away in such situations are ignorant? |
