Ghost1994: Guys please always be very careful when driving, especially on Lekki Epe exp way.
There's an Uber driver who hit someone around Marwa lastnight. According to him, the person is crossing and he couldn't see him but he knock him down.
Both him and the corpse are currently in Lagos Island hospital. I couldn't upload the voice note here but the driver is in custody.
It's sad that we don't have working system in our country imagine all those crazy fellow crossing under covered pedestrian bridge from Phase 1 to Ajah they don't use pedestrian. And also, from Custain to Maryland down to Ketu, they never use Pedestrian bridge.
I'm feeling for the young guy now Police go use am chop.
Well nobody can be too careful but God will continue to protect us and our family. May God help the uber guy in any condition he's currently in.
#stay safe If he has a good lawyer, nothing go happen Infact the law go still fine the victim/corpse join Crossing under a pedestrian bridge is against the law |
Politics › Re: 2023: Tinubu Vs Atiku, Who Can Make A Better Nigeria President? by izzou(m): 7:31am On Jun 21, 2020 |
Tinubu would definitely be better than Atiku
In Corruption, both of them are premium thieves
But Tinubu is a builder. I don't like him though (because of his greediness), but I can't deny the fact that he is a man with a plan.
Even when Obasanjo withheld the allocation of his state for years, he still made sure he paid his workers. Tinubu is a man that can give loyalty. Politically, he has raised people, and during his tenure as Lagos state governor, we had other tribes on his cabinet.
Two of them are bad options, but I'll pick Tinubu as the lesser evil
Please it's my opinion... Nobody should jump into my mentions and start bleating |

donjazet: I gave you instances of the kind of backwards mentality the common citizens of our society possess because of religion.
Our religious beliefs is the main reason we choose to pretend like these things aren't happening.
Because a majority of our population identify as Christians or Moslems, religions which outrightly forbids those two things, we can't solve these societal problems.
Religion forbids sex before marriage, but since man is an advanced animal that is biologically and genetically engineered to have sex without an impulse towards reproduction, we feel guilty when we do what our body was programmed to stand we can't even talk about it openly. Religion advised it's followers not to have sex before marriage. How's that your business, Donjazet? Is this affecting you? Or if you have sex tonight, will anyone stone you to death, kill you? Some countries have legalized same sex marriage, yet religion is still there . Did it take anything away from anybody? I asked you Nigeria's problems. You did not say corruption, killings, rape, poverty, unemployment oh . Na sex , abortion and sex education you talk. So at least, I can assume that the others are not caused by religion |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by izzou(m): 10:46pm On Jun 20, 2020 |
donjazet: Nothing is wrong with this statement. As a matter of fact, it is one of the best statements in the bible.
But I ask you; what about the terrible parts and laws of the Bible? What about the part that says rapists must marry their victims? or the parts that encourages slavery( a part used by Christians to justify slavery)?, the part that commands the killings of unbelievers. The parts that promote bloodshed and violence?
What about those parts? You see that you are choosing to cherrypick the good part of the Bible you believe is good.
What about those that choose to enforce the very terrible aspects of this same bible? The bolded all happened in the Old testament. It was a recall of events that happened then. Reading it is more like a story. Events that happened between God and a people. This same order of events led to the New testament...Jesus, his followers, his death and the rest So can you now point to where we were encouraged again to kill, rape or be violent? Show me where Jesus's disciples practiced all what you said. Or you are not cherry picking too? Everybody will not be an atheist and everyone will not be religious...A fact you and the Atum follower just won't accept So at any slightest opportunity, you bring in religion as the problem. Even madrid.5 said religion has done more good in ending very toxic beliefs in this world, but no.....you just have to paint it all black I always try to avoid quoting you on matters outside football. You are the type that can't live and let live. You are the example of an extremist. If you were a Muslim, you probably would be carrying bombs now, or if you were a Christian, you may be condemning every single soul you meet daily I thank God for where you are currently. |

donjazet: You yourself have clearly not been following the argument.
I said earlier today that religion was one of the major problems of our society alongside tribalism and corruption. Teejay supported the statement by saying we needed more irreligious freethinkers and philosophers in the society, only for senkafor to reintroduce the lazy and stealing argument again.
Nobody says that religion leads to stealing. No. It leads to much worse. A hypocritical and mentally backwards society.
A society that loves to pretend and close it's eye to its problems while it's citizens continuously turn on themselves on the basis of religion amid other factors. What exactly is our society's problems? Abortion that isn't legalized? Abi na sex education? Is this really our problem now? Or you just want to argue |

donjazet: Religion promotes nepotism and fosters disunity in our society.
When we say that religion is one of the major problems in our society, you guys automatically think only towards the government. As if it is not human beings extracted from our society that constitutes the government.
When we say religion is one of the basic problem we have in our society, we are talking about how religion affects the basic social, psychological and mental makeup of it's citizens.
Religion twists the mindset and judgement of its citizens negatively hence you have a very dysfunctional society. You have a society of judgemental hypocrites.
For instance, IN our country, we can't even entertain the idea of legal abortion, but we have millions of girls who have carried out illegal and dangerous abortions. We live in a country where virgins before marriage is almost nonexistent, where guys and girls start having sex (which is a natural biological impulse) once they have attained puberty and rather than the society being very open about sex and it's after effects, everybody chooses to turn a blind eye to this social dilemma. Nobody talks about sex education in the schools or thinks of legislating safe abortion methods.
Instead, we delude ourselves that we have a higher moral standard than the societies that chose to be open to these ideas and face it head on. If we learn to stick to an argument, we will have less pages of arguing endlessly We are talking about religion responsible for people being corrupt and lazyKindly show us how religion in itself, has encouraged any of these. Okay? |

simonjassy: I cannot categorically say yes or no to this. But these set of people vlaim they derive their morality from their books..if these same people who form the bulk of thre majority of Nigerians, are "corrupt and lazy" as seanokafor puts it.[s]It is either something is wrong with their holy books or they don't believe in the holiness of their books[/s]. Instead of concluding, take your time to find out if their holy books instructed them to steal, be corrupt, hate and/or kill If it does, then the religion is obviously the problem If it doesn't, then they are the problem.
