ekehopp: Everyday we read tales of drivers lamenting about being blocked by Uber-Bolt. But do you know that Riders are also blocked too?!
So yesterday morning one of my first trips was to drop off an Olosho at home. The client ordered the ride and asked me to send my account details after trip. Decided to give him the benefit of the doubt and it backfired. Ogbeni was still giving excuses as at afternoon. In annoyance, I reported him to Bolt, and Bolt called him. They then asked me to confirm to them when he eventually pays. Still had to send a reminder to client before he eventually paid around 5pm. And I immediately confirmed same to Bolt.
Only for Dude to call me this evening pleading I send a reminder to Bolt, that his account has been blocked since yesterday. He was blocked because he tried to pull a Hushpuppi on you. That's a big offense Imagine if he had slapped you and still paid you. Brotherly, nobody go block am oh If you cancel too much, Bolt will block you If a rider cancels too much on you, Bolt will still block you Drivers own worse, abeg |

pope191: You have said well boss, but one area I'm not pleased with is the area you said riders are insulting drivers... To me its a two way thing, riders feel drivers r insulting them too (Go check on bolt twitter and see gobe ), I think it's a Nigeria thing, no doubt this is not a job in the first place, but just another hustle and I've woken to other ways to make money, but its in the rise and fall pattern, which I feel an average Nigerian live on. I've seen someone without a job or hustle, begging for all sought for 2k look down on drivers, but do I have to flow with his/her ignorance? Nope! In d voice of Tony Montana "I've gat to look after my investment" its a means to an end boss and mostly a goat is worth arrival price, if u come dirty, looking like someone life have beaten down, you'll get same treatment from any one. Most rider up till this moment don't know some drivers owe their car
The issue is a two way thing, I'm not scared of anyone is not like that of soldier, if I can man him, I'll find other ways to play a fast one on him, but go at loggerheads with him obviously is a no no... In this part of the world there's no justice, what we have is interest. Thank you |

Tochex101: Pls don't discourage this man, should we all fold our hands and be ridiculed/killed in this country? Felicity, tag Segalink too.... I didn't discourage the man. I used the word "may". I was only being realistic, which you know And you talk about ridicule? Drivers here are being ridiculed daily by riders. They insult you on top your car, talk to you in derogatory manners and yet.... You take it all as a man, and move to the next trip A policeman broke my friend's side mirror in traffic. We parked and reasoned with him responsibly...No shouts, no dragging. He finally admitted he was at fault and dropped 5k. Insurance paid for the mirror and we used the 5k to drink beer and Suya If we had started shouting, maybe he would have oppressed us, and in the end we will be tagging Segalink on Twitter... In the end, we may spend more and may not get justice The earlier you realise that this country and world can't get better, the better we are most likely to last long in it. Even Jesus asked his followers to seek peace, not justice... You know why? It will be difficult to get justice in this world I pray the officer is apprehended...But I'll put my life before my rights, especially in this country...Call it cowardice, but it is what it is for me Some people have dragged their rights and they ended up as statistics.... Forgotten and never to be remembered |

Felicity0001: Conti...
. So so sorry for your ordeal... But the bitter truth is nothing may to happen to him.Do you remember that guy SARS killed at Mangoro, years back? Nothing happened. I can list so many cases of oppression and death that nothing happened in this country. The common man has a very slim chance of getting justice in Nigeria, and that's why it's best to avoid trouble when you see it. I know I'm not you, but I would have simply begged him at the initial state and when people gathered....Save my time and save my face.. It doesn't make me less of a man. You for just tell am sorry and leave. Drop your rider and get your next trip. Anything that is not bringing money no worth the stress Instead of a danfo to scratch me because I want to claim rights on the road, I simply stop so he can carry his wahala and go. Nigeria don spoil. E no fit change. So sorry for what you went through. I pray you get justice |

timbros: No.
There are coaches who went all the way and even won UCL but cannot be named among elite coaches. E.g our own Di Matteo. Also Avram Grant went all the way to the final and was a spot kick away from being a UCL winner. But can you name him as an elite coach?
My point is, compare Sarri and Pochettino in their individual performances in the league where they play week in week out season after season. There is where their philosophy/brand of football will show more.
The discussion started with Sarri being rubbished because of lack of achievement. I was the one who brought Pochettino into the discussion to show that 0 trophy don't make one a failure. I think the UCL is a common ground to compare. That's the biggest competition in Europe Celtic have been carrying their league for the past four seasons. Going by your ideology, Ronny Deila, Brendan Rodgers and Neil Lennon are far far better than Sarri |

Nezzjnr: They're just bringing in more drivers into the Platform
Check out their ads on social media For me, I don't think they are wrong. They just need to balance both sides. Like I said, ehailing has not been harnessed sef... 96% of cars on the platform only ply very few local governments in Lagos. That's why it looks like the business is saturated. Every driver currently wants a VI, Ikoyi, Lekki, Yaba, Ikeja, Lagos Island, Surulere, Ojodu/Berger trip and others. Most parts of the mainland and even the island are still uncovered This is due to a lot of factors: Bad roads, Traffic, Absence of night life, insecurity and others Ikorodu is still barren Badagry is still barren Epe is still barren Apapa, Ajegunle, Okoko and a lot of other areas....Now, drivers are starting to boycott Festac, Satellite and it's environs Uber is still a good business to me. It's just that so many factors are against it currently. As for saturated, I don't think it has |

Nezzjnr: The Competition will be so high The more riders we have, the more trips they get The onus is on Uber and Bolt to create more awareness and publicity, so that more riders can enter the game It's just that there are a lot of factors limiting the potential of ehailing: bad roads, traffic, safety.... If not, Ehailing has not lived up to its potential in Lagos |

The issue will definitely reoccur cos newbies that are unaware of this scam will fall victim. It's so painful naa. The annoying part is how we carried it out. There are stories one would read here, and you cannot help but shake your head in disappointment. Like Dude, You can't even buy an item in a random Mallam's shop, and tell him you will send someone to bring his money. He will not let you go even if it's Five Naira. You guys suffer so much to make ends meet. Don't let anybody steal your sweat because you want to be nice, have 5 star, blah blah blah. Habaa The issue of Transfer scams have been flogged here many times: Don't accept transfers. But no, for every two pages, we still read about how someone played a fast one with transfers. It's painful reading stories like this. If a rider says he's paying through transfer, tell the rider: Sir/Ma, I do not have a bank account. Please give me cash, which is the mode of payment you choseEven the thief will have no choice than to think of paying you because the scam don burst. Don't accept transfers Don't lend money to riders

Ogbunigwe2018: Yes.
Infact, no lawyer will defend you with that line of “under the pedestrian bridge”.
A human life is involved(man-slaughter), you are talking of pedestrian bridge. Lol.
P.S Happy Father’s Day to the real fathers here. Even people that stabbed someone to death, had lawyers defend them in court. So if I'm driving, and someone jumps in front of my car, and he dies, I'm automatically going to jail? No defence or hearing from me? Wonderful |

-Police will charge you with man slaughter. -Lawyer will ask you to pay the family of the deceased. -You will bail yourself and your car from police detention.
Case closed. Did the person you know knock someone down under a pedestrian bridge?Because from this story, there is a pedestrian bridge there. It happened under the bridge. Or that doesn't count in the court of law? |

Beng1234: Na God Dey keep person out of trouble. No matter how careful you are, u cannot predict what’s in the mind of the other driver. In this case, the police cannot detain both the driver and the vehicle. I don’t think the matter would reach court too. Police go just chop the guy well; He will be granted bail, settle the victim’s family, bail his car, settle the IPO. His prayers should be that the victim’s family shouldn’t ask for much. God be with everyone. Ask for much? Abi they will have to let go. If the case gets to court, I doubt if that driver will go to jail, or if he does, get a heavy sentence There's a pedestrian bride at Marwa. Why did the deceased cross the road? If the driver has a good lawyer, the deceased family go drop the case sef May God comfort the family and see the driver through |
