So u reckon staying in Nigeria is better than UK?
I felt like that sometime ago but my visit last christmas told me the simple truth.

When was the last time u visited Nigeria?
6 years ago i guess.

No need to argue.
U can go back to Nigeria for just 3 weeks and lets see how u cope with the hardship. grin

@ Beyonce1

I am 21 and i can meet u anywhere on the British Channels to prove this to u.
Why can't u just let this issue go?  shocked
U r flattering me by saying i am too young to write wisely.
I must be doing something audacious to leave Nairalanders doubting ma age.
The fact is: I am a genius.

Now u think they are achievable, innit?
I will never dispute anything i don't really know too much about.
U learn more when u listen good.

There are money-making schemes that are legit in the UK.
Keep your ears to the ground and u will benefit more.

@ Walelead,

Akolawole is a frequent visitor in the UK although he is a born pessimist.
Don't listen to his advice if u want to enjoy your stay in the UK because he's one of the types that believe staying in Nigeria is better than living in the UK.

Like my man Reyes has told u, Self-control is the key to credit cards.
Spend wisely and AmEx is your best bet as u can accumulate points that lets u fly anywhere without buying air tickets.
It also restricts stupid spending as it is not ATM-friendly.

Go shorty, it's your berfday grin

@ Zebudaya,
The 5yrs experience is a ploy to deter unambitious people off.
How can one have 5 years experience in software testing when the courses u took are barely 4 months old in the market.

One can still get this job. It depends on your skills and what u have dipped your hands into in the past.
The only schitzo here is the wages might be reduced slightly if your employer insists on the experience factor so ur £350 a day might just drop to £320-£330 which is still a fat pay.

@WesleyanA,
I understand the age of arrival to these countries is a very important factor but one still needs to fight for it,ain't it?
These courses are less than £500 to complete and good jobs are guaranteed no matter what colour of skin, race or sex.

Lots of people don't like their jobs but what are they doing to get out of it.
My friend, a lot of Nigerians get mis-guided and indoctrinated to believe a black man can never make it to the top in foreign lands.
I do write CVs for people and psyche them before job interviews.
Some of these lads even feel defeated even before confronting the white men that conducts the interview but u need CONFIDENCE to get jobs.
My supervisor once told me u don't really need to answer questions correctly but show the confidence that u know questions is what he wants.

Most of the low-paying jobs are tedious and laborious but are they mentally-tasking like IT jobs?
How many Nigerians are ready to invest £500 on courses (+ read everytime to pass exams) to get good jobs?
They will rather visit Ralph Lauren/Prada stores to get apparels and shoes and drink the rest away at the nearest pub.
Anutha factor here is lack of proper documents to work.

Getting turned down for not doing the right thing means the old/archaic certificates most people carry.
U have to understand the IT world is one of the most dynamic fields in the world.
New solutions come out every now and then and one has to always take exams to meet up with the IT world or else u face the music.
Nigerian lads don't know too much about this so they attach certificates of 10 years ago to their CVs which disqualifies 'em.

The problem with people like u is that u believe everything goes by the book.
My friend, there are ways to get around these laws. Believe it.

I am sure u will scream blue murder about this again.

U are just a typical Ibadan man, learn the ropes ma friend. grin

@ Old Glory,
Sky's the limit when u have got the brains and u are not afraid to push things beyond the finish line.

Please take any course on software testing + pass the exams and lets see if i don't get u a job that pays £300 a day in the UK within 3 weeks.
The demand for testers is high in the UK and majority of our brilliant Nigerian lads are just ignoring these calls because they under-utilise themselves.
I can only isolate this reason as laziness or what else can u call it.

Don't listen to Akola and his goons. Akola only comes into the country on vacation and jets back to Nigeria so he does not really know how the system works.
Many immigrants have taken full opportunity of the IT world and are making mad cheese.
Is it possible for u to have a genuine certificate in IT and you're being denied a job?
In a worst case scenario u will get at least £200 a day working as a software tester.
If u don't believe me, copy this link to your browser and check: http://www.jobsite.co.uk/cgi-bin/vacdetails.pl?selection=920002732&ld=1

@ WesleyanA,
It is obvious u have not been reading my comments on this thread.
I have stayed in the US for some months and i was convinced Nigerians in the US are very hard-working.
We all know how the system works in America and the laws are very strict compared to the UK.

The lads in the UK are quite different from the ones u see in the US.
I believe the reason here is because they get away easily with their vices here.
Fraud charges don't carry more than 2-3 years jail sentences and after spending half of their terms they will be injected back to the societywithout stress.
So much on the human rights act law that seem to pamper criminals in the UK.

Furthermore, its easy to get jobs down here  just like everywhere when u have suitable cerifications and the hunger to strive for the best.
The competition is fierce out there and one needs to get certificates that are in hot demands to get mouth-watering jobs.
Majority of Nigerian youths carry obsolete certificates and when the dream job fails to materialise they labelled the white man a racist.
How do u intend to work with an Oracle certificate u have romanced for 10 years or more when new solutions are coming out everyday?
I have highlighted this factor weeks ago and i have seen many applicants turned down in my office because our kinsmen are not just doing the right thing to better their chances.

@ beyonce1,
I don't have to tell my financial advisors i have a FAT account.
All i needed was to prove i have a job that can sort out my monthly repayments.
The paper work was approved and i got a house.

U don't have to believe me, do u?
If it sounds like a lie to u or illegal then u can inform the cops or the IRS.
As per the council tax and other stuffs, its just a stroke of genius mixed with intelligence.
Its a ploy to maximise your profits/savings in the UK.

Whatz wrong with avoiding unnecessary bills to maximise savings?
Who says i cannot keep my ears close to the streets while doing a legit job?
Who says i must necessarily buy electronics from currys and dixons when i can get it at half-prices from hackers?
Be wise miss beyonce1.
There's nuthing wrong in maximising savings/profits when u can.

It can be compared to a very brilliant student looking for expos to pass JAMB/UME in lagos.
If the expos gel, you're bound to get more marks.
If the expos don't gel, your brilliance will see u through with ease.
Do u copy? grin

@ Akolawole and Beyonce1,

I cannot believe what this thread has degenerated to.
Lemme explain things clearly to y'all unbelievers and doubters.

I moved to the UK when i was just 8 years(not 16 years as Zebudaya and Akola claims) and i finished my high school education in the UK at the age of 16.
My University Education was at UMIST in Manchester and i finished my bachelors degree as an engineer at the age of 19(June 2004).
In my years at the University, i took IT courses ranging from MCSE,CCNA,CCNP,CWNA and i worked as Cisco Engineer in various companies during every long vacation in my school years.

The reason for my flair in the IT world is because i'm opportuned to know 2 or 3 people working at the top managerial level in this field.
Through the help of my uncle, i got a job at British Telecoms @ 20 as a software tester and the company shipped me off to the US to learn more skills on Wi-Fi and CWNP but i was still getting paid by BT even though i was studying in California.
It was at this time my status changed to a full-time student in the US not in the UK.

I came back to the UK with ma head high and a very fat account and i decided to get a house late last year as a full-time worker @ BT.
With the help of some people,my dreams was realised and i got a house at the NW area of London.
Fortunately, these people were able to get me a 100% mortgage lender with a mortgage term of 28 years at a fixed rate.
This same people, after i acquired the property, managed to bend the laws without breaking it by informing the council i am a student so i don't pay council-tax.
Although this privilege will only last me till September this year but i don't pay any council tax as of now.

There's nothing impossible.
Everyone doesn't have to live the rags to riches kind of life in the UK.
The most important factor in the UK is the environment u find yourself as a new comer.
I was lucky to roll with some young achievers who changed the rags-to-riches curse on Nigerians to "ashes to classics".

If any of y'all guys are interested in this kizzack u can hit me up on it instead of acting like a doubting Thomas on this issue.
Many Nigerian lads(ages 20-22) are acquiring properties by the day as long as u have a steady income to sort the monthly repayments.
UK is a land of opportunities and i am glad i am making the most out of the land.
Don't hate the player, hate the game.

End of story!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@ Akola,
In fact i doff ma hats for u on the last comment.
U are absolutely spot-on.
I can understand why Mourinho labelled Prof. Wenger a Viewer.
Wenger knws everything happening in other clubs but he doesn't see the stuffs happening under his own nose at Highbury.

Arsene has never seen anything bad in his players.
Pires theatrical dive in 2004, Ashley Cole's dive at Highbury when Utd pulverised 'em 4-2 in 2004/05 season.
Eboue's dive at UCL final against Barcelona and so on and forth.

He must be short-sighted or suffering from color blindness.
Any event that does not do the image of 'em Gunners any good has never been seen by Wenger.
Do u know Wenger claimed not to have seen Arsenal player's jumping on Ruud Van Nistelrooy at OT in 2003?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: A New Era At Real Madrid! by Jackal(m): 3:39pm On Jul 08, 2006
Sometimes its a waste of time to argue with soccer-illiterates but i will make some few things clear to u.

Why are u sounding off like a juvenile?
A player is always available to any club until the second such player signed his contracts to anutha club.
Ribery has declared his intentions to join Lyon but has he signed yet?
Rooney also declared his intentions to join Newcastle FC some few seasons ago but where is he now?
Arjen Robben was at the brink of joining Man Utd. Where is he plying his trade now?

U need to button up your lips before spilling heresies on a public forum.
Frank Ribery is not out of reach until he signed his contracts for Lyon.
A soccer player's mind changes like the weather forecast in the UK.

Talking about Real Madrid.
What impossible transfer raid has Real Madrid done at Man Utd in the past?
David Beckham? I am now very sure you're a complete novice in the game and u'd be better off analysing Nigerian Football leagues.
Beckham was sold to Madrid because Ferguson wanted Beckham out.
Let Madrid come and bid for Wayne Rooney or Rio Ferdinand and lets see how mighty they are.
Real Madrid ma ass.
How many times have they failed in their quest to land Van Nistelrooy?

I have been an official member of Man Utd since 1991 and i am sure u don't even know what the English League was by then.
There's nuthing going on at OT that i am not aware of and i am sure Ferguson can land Ribery.
How much is Frank Ribery in the market?
Bigger players than Ribery have been snatched ifrom clubs in the past so forget the theory of declared intentions.
Be smart. Don't be a retard.

The Jackal i am talking about is quite different from that link.
Go and get the novel by Frederick Forsyth and u'll have a clue of who i am talking about.

I don't always believe that someone's condition can be very worse not to pick himself up.
One thing u should keep at the back of ur mind is there are people with worse conditions and they defied all odds to make something out of life.
With this thoughts on ur mind, u will breakthrough any barrier.

Failure is when someone is down and he is doing nuthing about it.
No one is perfect but the ability to stand up again after one falls is what makes us REAL MEN.
Enuff said. I gotta go.

It has to do with the environment, exposure and the kind of peopz u roll with.

I love creeping with adults. As a matter of fact, the bulk of ma pals are years older than me.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Just How Good Is Klose ? by Jackal(m): 7:00pm On Jul 07, 2006
He is as good as scoring 5 goals for Germany in a very cool and calm fashion.
I don't think he is the best striker in the world at the moment.
Scoring 5 goals in a tournament does not make him the best especially when he's yet to make any visible impact at UEFA or domestic league.
Obafemi Martins will give him a run for his money.

If Cristiano goes, Ribery will join.
Utd has enough money to sink the titanic and land good lads.
Ferguson for who he is won't sell to Real Madrid.
He will rather hock Ronaldo's balls to Villareal or Sporting Lisbon.

FYI, Old Trafford is fine.
No cause for alarms.

1) Stephen Okechukwu Keshi.

2) Emmanuel Olisadebe

3) Mutiu Adepoju(Head-master) Africa's best header of the ball. I cannot forget his goal against the Saudis at Saudi '89.

4) Oliver Bierhoff. (The best header of the ball by miles. He makes Miroslav Klose and Kayode Keshinro look like clowns aerially).

5) Maniche (Benfica, Porto and a brief stint(loan) at Chelsea.

6) Hucarson and Moi grin

7) Taofik Malik, Edith Agoye and Gbenga Okunowo(not too sure)

Thuram and Makelele were telling Zizou in french that what a man can see when he is sitting down, kids like Henry can never see if he's on top of World Trade Centre.

In other words, the older the wine the better it tastes.

Zidane is a legend and he proved all Henry cock-suckers wrong by steering France single-handedly to the World Cup finals.
I read lotta comments on NL that said France is too Zidane-centred and thatz why Henry is not clicking.

No harm can come near Ronaldo.
Beckham's case was worse than this after France 98 and what happened?
Rooney and Ronaldo exchanged text messages after the match so there's no ruckus between the 2 youngsters.
Cristiano was not responsible for Lampard + Gerrard + Carragher's penalty misses.

Ronaldo will rot in Old Trafford unless the gaffer decides he's done with Ronaldo.
Christiano, Rooney, Rossi, Vidic, Fletcher and few others are the new generation Sir Alex is trying to build for all these years before he retires.
I don't think threats from 'em English hooligans can make Fergie change his plans as we all know Fergie aint a weakling.

Why should i do that? If i can be honest enough to tell u i don't pay TV license then u should know i wouldn't lie about a non-important issue like age and job.
What difference will it make to u if i am 57 years of age or 21 years? cheesy cheesy

U actually made me feel weird about the TV license thingy so i made my own opinion poll.
I called all the UK contacts on ma phone book(105 names) and to ma greatest delight only 2 people are paying TV license out of the whole lot. shocked
The reason why they pay is because they relocated from London. One is in Canterbury(Kent) and the other dude is in Leicester.

@ Zebudaya,
U are absolutely spot-on.
The fact is its easy to get away with these crimes in the UK as long as one does not commit a violent crime.
The maximum penalty one get for the credit card racket is about 2-3 years and after spending half the time, the UK government releases 'em.
So much for human rights.
The 3 deadliest crimes in the UK are Kidnapping, Rape and Drugs. All others attract minimum penalties and as a first offender, its a community service sentence that these dudes get unlike Yankee where they treat all criminals(from petty shop-lifters to drug barons) like animals.
There's no death sentence in the UK and Stanley Tookie Williams would have been a free man if he was in the UK but trust Yankee, they injected the old man like a duck.

Thierry Henry still remains a mediocre despite all the hype that surrounds him from NL gunners.
He still doesn't have the cutting edge to steer his side single-handedly to a victory.
The most important player in France is Zidane and his sublime skills was the difference when France pipped Brazil.

Henry's goal on sunday was the 1st time in 50 matches he will score from a Zidane's assist.
Loads of NL gooners continuosly condemned Zidane earlier as the major reason France has failed because they felt the team should be built around Henry.
Zidane replied em them with a superb display of stealth and magic.

Henry's chance to be the tournament's best player has been dashed by Zidane.
Zidane will likely take the World Footballer award if he can produce another of his wizardry against Portugal.
I am tipping Scolari's men to surprise France but i will not forget Zizou's contribution in this world cup if they get eliminated tonight.
