@ Razorr,

The World Footballer Award is usually a farce.
It is so difficult to find someone who bettered Drogba/Ronaldo's achievements last season.
Ronaldo's form for United and Portugal over the past 12 months has been sensational, unless your name is Debosky.
While Kaka was rested to play against the worst back four ever to be assembled as a makeshift in CL history, Ronaldo had to play play play and then play against a fresh Milan side.
Thats the trouble with the CL nowadays as it favours sides that aren't competing for their domestic title.
Maybe their should be a rule where you have to play 60 % of the side that played your previous league game?

I think it is hard to think of any player who deserves it more than Ronaldo in terms of all-round performance in all competitions for club and Country over the past 12 months.
Kaka was brilliant in the CL (what would Ronaldo have done to our joke of a back four ??)
Messi has been the best player in the World so far THIS season but Ronaldo outshone everyone last year so probably deserves it ??

P.S. May God forgive u.  You have just kicked Lordi in the balls.

@ Debosky,

Henry had a brilliant season in 2003/04 but there were other players better than him that season.
Ronaldinho was much better than him that season.
Without a doubt, his performance that season is good enough to win IT but there were other players better than him.
Its just like a student scoring 288 in JAMB in Nigeria to be the best candidate. In anutha year . . .a student scoring 330 might not even be GOOD ENOUGH if there's anutha student that scored 340 in the same examination.
In 2005/06 season, Etoo-Messi-Ronaldinho were all better than Thierry Henry. The trio won La Liga + UEFA and made Barca a beauty to watch.

You have to admit it . . . .a lot of big players went to sleep last season. Ronaldinho was a shadow of himself.
Etoo/Messi were all out injured. Even Henry was injured so who else can u mention.
Anutha example is Drogba scoring 20 goals to win the golden boot in England. Ruud scored 21 goals the previous season and he didn't win it.
Does that mean Drogba didnt deserve to win the golden boot?  Different season . . .different performance.
In conclusion . . . . . KAKA didnt do enough to WIN the world player of the year.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by Jackal(m): 10:29pm On Oct 11, 2007
@ I-man,

Thank u mate!!!!!
At least someone feels what we are saying here.
Ronaldo and Drogba had a more brilliant performance than Kaka did at the world cup.
Kaka scored a single goal and fizzled out like the wick of a candle . . . . . . . .  . .
Cristiano and Drogba's contributions for their respective countries in the world cup were better than Kaka's contribution for Brazil.

Ancellotti kept Kaka out of the Serie A ties in the weekend before Champions league thus keeping him FRESH.
Ronaldo on the other hand had to play so as to keep United's hopes ALIVE to distance the team away from the Arses. grin grin grin grin
Drogba dragged Chelsea from the wilderness to the 2nd place and if ONLY he had anutha player like him . . . Chelsea could have won.
If only Chelsea had the luxury of resting Drogba to play ONLY in Europe . . .maybe he would have scored 12 goals in UEFA.
Lets give credits to Drogba and Ronaldo . . . .they were consistent in all the competitons last season.
A better showing than Kaka who only have to lace his boots for UEFA games after warming bench in the Serie A during the weekend.

@  Razorr,

I am pleading on Lordi's behalf.
He will get his demonic acts together and give u some nice shagging.
Intel says he has gone for an ENLARGEMENT to fill u up properly.
Nigga has been visiting the gym for bed fitness and stuffs . . . .his 6-pack is better than Tyrese's now.
Just give him time to acclimatize like TEVEZ and watch how Lordi will transform to a STUD.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by Jackal(m): 10:18pm On Oct 11, 2007
@ Debosky,

Stop acting like Billy Goat's gruff!!!!!!!!!!
What the Bleep are u talking about here?
WORLD FOOTBALLER OF THE YEAR will be decided on what happened last season alone so forget about the HISTORY CLASS.
Lets reason objectively while we analyse this issue.
Ronaldo + Drogba had to feature in every game to keep the hopes of quad/treble dreams alive while Kaka only played for UEFA.
In the SERIE A games played before Champions league tie . . . . MILAN rested their players while Ronaldo and Drogba kept playing to keep a distance from the ARSES and the SCOUSERS.
If Ronaldo and Drogba were also rested just to play ONLY in UEFA . . . .they would have given a better performance.
The Premiership duo fizzled out in the UCL because of the FATIGUE.
Kaka didnt score a single goal in any domestic competition apart from SERIE A where he only scored 8 goals in 31 appearances.
The plonker scored 10 goals @ UEFA and all of a sudden he is the best player in the world!!!!!!!!!!
Its ludicrous,  . . . . . .It seems Debosky is high on poisoned shroomz to have believed the hype.
Fabregas had a better season OVERALL than KAKA.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by Jackal(m): 10:10pm On Oct 11, 2007
@ Razorr,

I don't have a problem with him winning the UEFA awards.
In all honesty, his performance in the last Champions league campaign was top draw.
He scored 10 goals to clinch the golden boot and had a good performance in the competition throughout.
Bearing that in mind . . . .he deserves to clinch UEFA awards or maybe the European player of the year.
However, when it comes to WORLD PLAYER . . . . .Kaka didnt do enough to win the awards and i have got ma reasons.

While Ronaldo and Drogba were chasing 3-4 competitions in England, Kaka only concentrated on UEFA.
What was Kaka's contributions to AC Milan in Serie A and other domestic competitions? ZILCH!!!!!!!!!!!
He scored a disappointing 8 goals in 31 games while Drogba banged 20 and Ronaldo scored 17 goals for Man United.
AC Milan only had to come 4th in the league to guarantee Champions league spot . . . .they were not spurred to win the league.
Whereas, Drogba + Ronaldo were playing week in week out to keep the title race alive for their respective clubs.

The whole essence of the awards will be defeated if Kaka goes on to win it.
I would be more than disappointed . . . .names like Van Nistelrooy, Messi and even Cesc deserves mention before Kaka.
Meanwhile . . . . . . .
Lordi is in a mosque facing EASTwards and praying to God to touch your heart.
Harmattan/Winter is here and Lordi needs to feel the warmth of your luscious CHESTicles. tongue tongue tongue
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by Jackal(m): 9:40pm On Oct 11, 2007
@ Razorr,

Its RIDICULOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Kaka has been favoured to clinch that awards and its fuckery to me.
How can Kaka be the best player in the world because he had 2 good games in the S/finals of Champions League?
Ronaldo or Drogba deserves it more than Kaka . . . . . .
Unfortunately, Ronaldo is 2nd favourite and Messi is 3rd.
Drogba, Henry, Ruud Van Nistelrooy, Gattuso and Ronaldinho are all tied at 4th place according to the bookies.

P.S. Lordi is absent today because he is pitching tents with the Sallah Peops.
Do u know Lordi's major skill is STRANGLING Rams and Cattles?
Heard he could maim 20 Rams in 30 mins . . . . .Such is the power and the speed of Lordi's hands. tongue tongue tongue tongue

@ A-40,

Do u realise u just mentioned 4 players in about 11 seasons Wenger has been here?
Compare your list to Ferguson's world class players in Beckham, Scholes, Giggs and Rooney.
Moreover, stop saying Wenger has the best youth system around . . . . . by what criteria are u judging that?
Whats Wenger's youth system? Going to Barcelona or ASEC Mimosa to raid young players or what?
In the last world youth championship in Malaysia this summer . . . . .Man Utd WON it in a competition that had Ajax, Boca Juniors, Juventus, Barcelona, Flamengo, Bayern Munich and Inter Milan.
Mind u . . . . .Arsenal and Chelsea were in the competition and failed to qualify from their groups.

It has to be mentioned . . . . .Wenger is using this league to develop his countrymen at the expense of the local lads.
Look at how he used Kanu for an experiment to develop Thierry Henry. Kanu will only come in when things get sour.
Henry wasnt a ball of fire then but Wenger kept starting him and playing him for at least 60-75 mins while Kanu only gets between 5 -15 mins.
As a result of this injustice . . . .Henry got more confident while Kanu got discouraged and we all knew what happened after.
How many French players in Arsenal represents France . . . .Clichy, Gallas, Flamini, Diarra, Sagna and Diaby.(6 players)
How many English players in Arsenal plays for 3 LIONS . . . . .NONE.
Do u actually think an English manager will be allowed to do that in FRANCE?
There would be CHAOS and ANARCHY because French peops are WANKERS . . . .they wldnt allow such fuckery to go without fights.
SportsRe: Blatter's Foreign Policy: Effect On English League by Jackal(m): 1:05pm On Oct 11, 2007
@ Dayokanu,

You are a bloody oaf.
How can u be so myopic in mentioning shitty clubs like Nurnberg, Cottbus and Karlsuhe?
You are very stupid for this misinformation because i can remember 6 foreign players STARTED the game against Nurnberg.
How does that conform with what we are saying should Blatter succeed? You are just a fucking Arrow.
Always use your head wheneva u want to create threads to poke shots at England.
English clubs RULES . . . . .and this is the reason why the TOP 4 teams always qualify for UEFA Champions league. grin grin grin
Honestly, if u marry a LUMMOX like u . . .u will produce IDIOTS.

Clubs like Nurnberg, Cottbus, Karlsuhe are not better than Southend FC, Enyimba or Dolphins FC.
Lets stick to major German clubs and see how many players Bayern Munich fielded against STIFF oppositions.
Against Weder Bremen . . . . .Bayern played 7 foreign players including one sub.
Against Schalke 04 . . . . . . . . Bayern fielded 7 foreign players inclusing one sub.
Against Leverkusen . . . . . .  . Bayern STARTED 7 foreign players.
Against Hamburg . . . . . . . . .  Bayern played 7 foreign players including Jose Sosa(sub).
In the UEFA Cup game against Belenese . . . .7 foreign players played in BOTH LEGS with 7 foreigners starting in Belenese.

From the stats above . . . . . Can u gimme one reason why Bayern wont GRIND to a halt should Sepp Blatter succeeds?
I have just established Bayern cannot function without the help of foreign players. 50% of your starting XI are foreigners so tape it shut!
Besides that . . . . .How dare u mention Bayern Munich in the same breath as Man Utd or Arsenal?
Is your team SEEDED in Europe? Who gives a Bleep about history here? Whats your position on the UEFA team ranking?
Nottingham Forest have won the European cup TWICE . . . . .Does that make em better than Arsenal or Chelsea? grin grin
Your views are warped and u need to see a shrink.
Negro, your team is shyte and will suffer the same fate as Arsenal if the 6' + 5' rule comes into play.

Jackal try and use your brain once in a while now. Have you ever seen anything like britain in the world cup before? The go as England , Scotland, Wales e.t.c In football all these countries are seen as separate so try and count how many English men played against Roma dullard!!!
Dayokanu, the only thing i can call u now is Nairaland's resident retard. What the Bleep are u talking about?
I just gave u the spine of Man Utd: RIO-HARGREAVES/CARRICK-SCHOLES-ROONEY. Is there any non-English player in this SPINE.
At any point in time . . . .United plays at least 5-6 English players even before the Sepp Blatter's foreign policy.
Cant understand why you are acting like a gay suffering from MID-LIFE CRISIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

dayokanu:
See this guy Your ignorance knows no bounds Ah Ah So Lucio, Van Buyten and Demichelis who are central defender would play together? Can you go to Bayerns archive and tell me any match all these players have played together? A bayern line up would consist of Kahn/Rensing, Philip Lahm, Schweinsteiger, Klose/Podolski, Players like Christian Lell, Andreas Ottl, Marcel Jansen have played prominent part this season alone
You are such a pillock for saying this trash. A proper Bayern line-up today will play the following foreigners:
Demichelis, Lucio, Hamit, Ribery, Ze Roberto, Luca Toni and Van Bommel.
Look at this nincompoop trying to evade the fact that more foreigners play in Bayern Munich than Manchester United/Chelsea and even Liverpool.
Why are u so anti-English that it makes u sound stupid. In the land of foolish . . .u are a life president.
Get your facts right before hurling rubbish to soccer buffs. Bayern is as guilty as Arsenal which explains why they are not even in Champions league.

Bayern is so poor they can't even play amongst Europe's elite.
You should bury your cock-head in shame instead of spewing shit especially when Rangers and Celtic are playing in UEFA.
The world would END if Man Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea or Liverpool fails to play in the Champions League.
England rocks . . . . . . .

dayokanu:
With your ignorance I am suprised that you can even speak English. Cant you read English? This is not an EU thing it is a nationality thing If it is an EU thing then no club would be affected even Arsenal because most of their players are EU citizens This is about promoting home grown talents so where do the Yaya Toure and Diarra come in Are they Home grown talents in Spain? Calling you an Idiot is infact an insult to idiots Infact you don't deserve to exist!!
Mr Asshat, all i am saying here is . . . . Under Sepp Blatter's rule, Home grown players will have a quota . . . EU players will have a quota and non-EU players will have the lowest quota of just 3 players. The status of Africans are now the same as EU players so people like Etoo, Toure, Diarra, Kanoute will be considered EU players because of the Cotonou accord.
You are so CLUELESS u are even mentioning ARSENAL . . . .Is Arsenal in SPAIN? This Cotonou accord only affects Spain.
It has no connections with England/uk so Africans would still be treated as non-EU should Sepp Blatter succeed.
You are by far the most senseless and brainless gay i have met on any blog . . . . and thats serious because i have used more than 1000 blogs.
No one compares to your stupidity and moronic nature of reasoning.

@ A-40,

It doesnt make any sense.
As a matter of fact, Loyika shot himself in the foot with that article.
No Arsenal player is in the England team playing in Europe this weekend and Arsenal is on top of the Premiership.
Does that make any sense to u . . . . . . . .

We have been told funds is not Wenger's problem so whatz the problem here?
If Arsene can splash 20 million on Reyes in January 2004 then i see no reason why he couldnt buy Bent for 17 mil in 2007.
Lets be objective here . . . . I dont buy the idea of Wenger saying talented home-grown players are scarce.
The same England that produced Gerrard and Carragher in Liverpool . . . .John Terry in Chelsea and SCHOLES in Man Utd?

Y'all have to agree with me that Arsene Wenger has failed woefully in developing local talents in England.

@ Debosky,

I love that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Arsenal is interested in quality and not the faces/skin colour/passport?
Very good point . . . . .I guess Song and Diaby are better than Carrick and and Aaron Lennon.
What are u on about? Isnt Wenger reputed to be the best developer of young players?
Is raiding other academies in Africa and every corner in Europe the criteria of a good manager?
If he is that good then he should look inwards rather than paying peanuts to bring over-aged Africans and pretend they are young boys.
Is Adebayor 23? Toure 26? Blimey . . . maybe ma grandmother is 27!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The surge of foreign players is under-mining the local talents and English football is dying.
How many English players are in Arsenal's starting XI?
Wenger with all his brilliance has not been able to mould/build and develop English players like he should have.

Ferguson's home grown players . . . .

Ben Foster Gary Neville Wes Brown Rio Ferdinand Danny Simpson.

Owen Hargreaves Michael Carrick Paul Scholes.

Wayne Rooney Chris Eagles Fraizer Campbell.

@ tkb417,

Stop wasting ur time arguing with the likes of Dayokanu and his horde of soccer semi-illiterates.
Only an IDIOT would not recognise the potentials of the Busby Babes before the plane crash in Munich.
Just before the crash in 1958, they won the league here in England and were finalists in the FA cup losing to Aston Villa in the final.

The Busby Babes became the FIRST ENGLISH TEAM to compete in the EUROPEAN CUP and reached the S/final only to be ousted by REAL MADRID.
As a matter of fact . . .Busby Babes recorded a win that still stands as the biggest win in all competitons in Europe.
They defeated BELGIAN CHAMPIONS, Anderlecht 10-0 at Maine Road.

So why would anyone say this team had no potential to win in Europe before the Air crash that killed 9 first team members?
There's no doubt about this . . . .United would have had the same success Liverpool had in Europe if this tragedy never occurred.
Matt Busby was the 1st to adopt the youth policy system in England which has now become the norm in modern day football.

Trust Dayokanu to always hurl puke when it comes to anything English.
8 out of the starting 11 that walloped Roma 7-1 at OT were British so Man Utd is very fine when it comes to local players.
You forgot to add Wes Brown and Carrick to your list and this shows how Ferguson has kept faith with the local players.
4 out of 5 players that makes the United spine are English through and through.
VAN DER SAR-FERDINAND-HARGREAVES-SCHOLES-ROONEY.
Meanwhile, Ben Foster is being lined up to replace Van Der Sar in the future so Man United is perfect.

@ Dayokanu,

It seems u have now lost touch with reality.
I never knew u were this shallow as far as football is concerned.
Anyways . . . .let me educate u a bit on this issue . . . .

Even with your biased comments . . . .Bayern Munich will struggle more than Chelsea/Liverpool.
How many home-grown talents are in Bayern?
A team that has Sagnol, Lucio, Hamit, Van Buyten, Demichelis, Ribery, Luca Toni, Ze Roberto & Van Bommel in their starting XI will fall apart.
How is that different to Arsenal or Tottenham Hotspurs? Why do u always campaigning rubbish about England!!!!!!!
Your intelligence on football matters needs to be brushed up . . . . .You ooze of sheer stupidity!

You came here to spew that only AC Milan and Bayern will pass under Sepp Blatter's '6 +5'. What a shame!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It seems u know nothing about the Cotonou accord in Spain.
The scheme was signed in Benin in 2000 by the EU and 77 member countries and ratified by the Spanish parliament in 2006.
This agreement allows players from Africa, Carribean and Pacific countries to occupy EU roster spots in La Liga.
It simply means Yaya Toure and Mahmodu Diarra aint different from EU players in Spain so Barcelona and Madrid CANNOT be affected.
Get your facts right before coming here to hurl balderdash on a public forum.

What else do u guys want?
Give us ALEX in exchange for Silvestre.
The Brazilian is a brilliant defender . . . Seems u have forgotten he made ma day stupendously last season.
ALEX was the superman that ended the GAYNNERS dream in UEFA Champions League last season.
He rose majestically like the FLIGHT OF THE PHOENIX to power home a header that made Gallas and Toure look like WIMPS.
U might need him again at the Emirates to have a repeat performance.

Carvalho is a great defender . . . .He is not about sheer strength but he reads the game well and he is very DODGY.
Just consider Ricardo as a brilliant student that loves to cheat during exams . . . .he is always ahead of others cos he is crafty.
Ben Haim and Sidwell . . . . .the jury is still out on those 2 lads . . . .I prefer Mikel Essien Lampard and Makelele any time of the day.
Pizarro will also come good but MOSTLY in European games cos English game is a bit too pacy for him.
Most defenders are faster than him here in the Prem so the bulk of his goals will come from UEFA just like Sheva.

Hargreaves . . . . . .I hope he sorts out his legs very soon.
If he stays fit, he is one of the best natural holding midfielders this country has ever produced.
He works his socks off trying to win the balls off opponents plus he is good tackler and has the knack of bullying opponents into submission.
I wont write him off yet cos he was dominant for England at the world cup last summer.
He overshadowed Lampard and Gerrard and he kept his head to score during decisive penalty shoot-out against Portugal.
Mind u . . . .he will be better than Sidwell. grin grin grin grin

@ Razorr,

I hate to say this but Belletti, Malouda and Alex are brilliant signings.
The only snag is how Avram Grant would use em to get the best out of them.
Malouda is an ace although not as creative and versatile as Robben but he is direct, has got balance, skills and drive to support strikers.
Look at the way he stole a march on Ferdinand at the Shield game . . .Arjen Robben would have dived in his shoes.
Belletti and Alex are also good squad players . . . . .They will come good in the winter when fixtures get heavy and injuries/fatigue sets in.

In Man Utd . . . . .Pheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeew!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am so happy Fergie signed Nani and Anderson . . . . .You can tell they've got potentials considering the last game.
Tevez is also a wonderful addition and he wont be far from the PFA player of the season by May 2008.
These players just need time to acclimatize to the English game and things would gel when they get their suave on.
With what i have seen so far . . . . .United and Chelsea are still the favourites to pinch the title.

@ Hot Razorr,

It seems u and Loyika have a score to settle.
Lemme step aside and watch whats about to happen here.
Meanwhile . . . .Loyika is a GUNNER(although he doesnt carry DESERT EAGLES . . . he has a DANE GUN)so be careful of him.
There's no body armour/Kevlar body suit that can stand the HEAT of a Dane Gun . . . . So be smart!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by Jackal(m): 5:17pm On Oct 09, 2007
@ Loyika,

Dont u dare mention Jose Mourinho . . . .Wenger would have been the happiest when Mourinho left.
Jose did his bit here and besides every club has its priorities. . . . . .
Roman Abrahamovic's prime target is the CHAMPIONS LEAGUE.
Jose was given that target with 400 million pounds worth of players and couldnt deliver UEFA in 3 years.

Some school of thoughts say if Jose achieved what Rafa achieved in Europe . . . . .he would still be the manager of Chelsea.
Roman's wet dreams is UEFA and since Jose failed to deliver that . . . .he deserves to be booted out.
I would have also kicked Jose out in Abrahamovic's shoes. . . . .He failed to deliver his primary targets.
Play attractive footie and bring us UEFA Champions league . . . . Jose never achieved 'em feats.

Meanwhile, Wenger's target is play attractive footie with youngsters . . . We don't care if u win trophies with em or not.
Just bring us young African players, develop em and make them play expansive football and u will get paid.
So ma bruv, every club has different goals and objectives.
Wenger's goals seem to be the easiest amongst the top 4 managers so he is less under pressure compared to Jose/Fergie/Benitez.
A manager that has won ZILCH in 2 years and his employers still think he is GREAT . . . .GAYNNERS are wankstas.

@ Lordimpaq,

This is where i think u can be brilliant.
You are so quick to see what i have been nibbling at.
Thanx for letting others know Arsenal is not too good in reacting positively to DEFEATS.
I hope the young gunners have matured to deal with CHARACTER.

@ Banderas,

YOUNG in this context means naivety and inexperience.
You cannot compare Rooney-Ronaldo's football experience to the likes of Hleb or even Van Persie.
Wazza represented England at the age of 18 in EURO 2004  and was a STAR in the tournament just like Cristiano Ronaldo.
These United players started so young so they know what it takes . . . .where was Van Persie in Euro 2004?
Where was Sagna, Flamini, Clichy or Diaby at EURO 2004? Can u spot the difference now?

@ Loyika,

You keep disappointing me.
Wenger has won it before and reh reh reh . . . . .
Maybe its Wenger that needs to focus and not the players.
Can u tell us why he is yet to retain the Premiership title? grin grin grin grin
He wins it this season and loses it in the next one . . . . .Is that not the CHARACTER we are talking about?
Jose Mourinho did back to back titles . . . .Ferguson has done it many times . . . .Where is Wenger on the list?
So stop giving LE CHACAL that liner of WENGER has done it before . . . .It hardly matters here.

@ tkb417,

I was talking about Rafa and Ferguson.
In recent years . . . .Benitez has struck GOLD in Europe.
He won UEFA cup with Valencia in 2004 and Champions league with Liverpool in 2005.
Came 2nd this year so we should give him his credits for CONSISTENCY in Europe.
In recent times . . . . he has been one of the most succesful managers in the Prem.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by Jackal(m): 2:12pm On Oct 09, 2007
Chelsea was a mediocre team 5 years ago . . . . .FACT!!!!!!!!!
How many of em players 5 years ago are still playing today? Almost NONE.
Theres a new revolution at Chelsea. New manager, new owner and expensive players.
Blimey . . . U are trying to compare a period of 5 years TO a period of 7 months!!!!!!!!!!

Arsenal lacked CHARACTER last season . . . .FACT!!!!!!!!!!
How many of those CHARACTERless players are still playing for them? Everyone bar HENRY and LJUNBERG.
These players are young and what keeps em going is the fact that they are still winning.
How would they react to a defeat? Answer that question and get back to me . . . . . .
Son, it hasnt changed and it takes just one freak loss to clog the wheels of the Gunners.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by Jackal(m): 1:58pm On Oct 09, 2007
@ Banderas,

This is why we beef on Nairaland.
Who is talking about winning streaks . . .
I AM TALKING ABOUT CHARACTER.
Lose a game and win the next 12 matches . . . . ARSENAL does not have that.

Arsenal has a huge RELUCTANCE to LOSE when WINNING and a huge RELUCTANCE to WIN when LOSING.
Lets flip the scripts backwards . . . United won 10 games and had 2 draws after losing to Arsenal at OT last seaon.
They also went on to win 12 games and had 2 draws after losing to Arsenal at the Emirates last season.
This is the CHARACTER i am talking about and unfortunately, ARSENAL does not have it.

You want to knw what happened to Arsenal after losing out to PSV in UEFA?
They lost to Chelsea in the Carling Cup . . .lost to Blackburn in FA Cup in a space of 1 week.
Lost to Everton and Liverpool in the Premiership back to back. Lost to West Ham and drew with Newwcastle.
ARSENAL got just 1 point in 12 available points and lost out in 4 competitons within a week.
SportsRe: I Think Messi Is Overrated by Jackal(m): 1:34pm On Oct 09, 2007
@ A-40,

Messi is the new MARADONA.
The young lad has come of age and he plays some breath-taking football.
He makes Kaka look like a wimp . . . .Messi is quick, can go past players, assists and has a tremendous goal sense.
Leo Messi is DIAMOND.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan thread: Forever Reds by Jackal(m): 1:20pm On Oct 09, 2007
@ Banderas,

Good question . . . . . If Man Utd lose to Arsenal they have the CHARACTER to carry on and win the league.
Blimey . . . .we lost to Man City and see where it got us . . . .when Arsenal lost to em last season . . . .what became ARSENAL?
Get it straight . . . . .ARSENAL are known to lose the drive n hunger whenever they lose.

Show me anywhere in Wenger's career where Arsenal lost a league game and cracked a 5-match winning streak and i will give u $500. grin grin grin

Arsenal wont WIN after losing a game now because they are yet to prove they have CHARACTER.
I have facts backing this up so i will spare u the details . . . . . . .
Secondly, the standard has been raised and one cannot afford to lose many games and still expect to win.

How can the best of Arsenal beat the best of Man Utd? Are we talking footie here or the new FIFA 08 PS3 game?
United has the best squad in the Premiership today. Only Barcelona are better in the attack line in the whole of Europe.
In the defence . . . . .United is the best in the league having conceded just 2 goals in 9 league games.
No need to hurl on the statistics here . . . .the form on the day is the key but if everyone plays at their best, United will TRIUMPH.

@ Loyika,

I rate Rafa because he is good at plotting/planning for games.
One plan, One plot to be used in one game and never to be tried again . . . . he is the master of that in the Prem.
Ferguson sets his team out to play and express themselves in the best way possible.
He is like . . . .I have Ronaldo, Rooney and Tevez . . . You have got Messi, Ronaldinho and Etoo . . . .lets see who outplays each other!!!!!!!!!!

Meanwhile . . . .Benitez is the striking opposite of that notion. . . . .
Rafa is like . . . . .You have Van Persie i have Mascherano to neutralise his effect . . .You got Fabregas, i have got Sissoko to negate him.
Thats the difference between the 2 managers . . . . This is why he has had relative success in Europe than Wenger/Fergie.
He is the master of one game but too many tactics undo him in a run of games like the Premier league.

This is why he is so difficult to beat!!!!!!!
While Fergie/Wenger will set their lads to play and let the opponents play . . .Benitez will unleash Mascherano and Alonxo to negate u.
The match becomes boring and they try to hit u on a counter and the rest is history.
Dont under-estimate Rafa when it comes to matches like this. He has made Mourinho pay countless times.
Man Utd was lucky to have come away with victory @ Anfield last season . . . .we didnt deserve the 3 points by any means.
So if i were u . . . .I would bow me head and pray.
