@ A-40 and Banderas, Arsenal hasnt got shit on Ronaldo. He would make Clichy or whoever pay on the day. The fear of Ronaldo is the genesis of wisdom . . . . .Many defenders will tell u that. Its even worse now that he's got a clone in Nani as his side-kick who can outwit Sagna/Clichy . . . Arsenal is in trouble . . . . WENGAY should have make the most of it when United was struggling with injuries. There's no defence in the world that can stop the HOLY TRINITY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wigan and a very decent ASTON VILLA will give a testimony to that. @ Lordi, I concur, mate. We have to keep our fingers crossed. The only snag is . . . .a defeat for Man Utd wont be as bad as a defeat for Arsenal. Arsenal's recovery sometimes takes a millennium . . . .United's recovery rate is instantaneous!!!!!!!! See where the defeat at Man City got us . . . . . |
@ Banderas, How can what happened barely 4 days ago be a past thing? Ma boys are IN FORM and they are ready to grill Wenger's back-side at the Emirates. Think about it . . . . There's no way u wont find goals in a United side that has got APACHE, ROO AND RONALDO. Add that to Vidic and Rio coming from the back to score from set-pieces . . . . . There are goals everywhere u look. One thing you should ask urself is why United are the favourites to win the title. Blimey . . . .Arsenal is 2 points clear with a game in hand but United rules the roost with the bookies. Every punter in the country is backing Man Utd to fleece Arsenal. So what can u say to that? Anutha 4-2 performance? or the 6-1 repeat of 2001? |
@ tkb417, You took those words out of ma mouth. How can anyone say UCL is less difficult than the Premiership? Why should i be surprised when it came out of a GAYNNER'S mouth? Theres nothing u will not hear from an Arsenal fan . . . . . . . |
Banderas:If that is the case. . . . . . .Why are you refering to last season's results as a pointer to the clash on November 3? One thing that never fails to amuse me about GAYnners is the ability to talk from both sides of their mouthz. Tssssk . . . . . .Tssssk, talk is cheap. Arsenal has a robust midfield? Whats so robust about your midfield? The only example u keep refering to is the match against AC Milan . . . . A very tired United side hit with injuries and fatigue versus a Milan side that had all its team members rested before the crunchy tie. Man Utd side without Neville, Rio and Evra . . . .Derby County could have defeated that United team on the day so shuuuuuuush!!!!!! Rooney hasnt disgraced Toure before? It seems u began watching the Prem last season. Where were u when Arsenal came to OT in April 2006 when Rooney made Toure and Senderos look like minnows. Wazza is Wenger's nightmares . . . . . Dont kid yourself . . . .he would be immense against your muppet defence that allowed SUNDERLAND to score 2 goals @ the Emirates. Apache has joined him as well with Nani and Anderson maturing fasssssssssssst! @ Lordi(my good pal), Wenger stands no chance on that day. The best he should hope for is a DRAW . . .If he carries the mentality to win to Anfield then u guys would be pulverised. Torres is being rested just for u GAYnners on sunday so expect a backlash from EL-NINO. Gerrard, Alonso, Mascherano, Babel, Benayoun and Kuyt. . . . . This team is massive. I can't wait for Torres to make a mince meat of Toure and Gallas. @ HNIC, This goes to prove u are just anutha muppet GAYnner on Nairaland. Van Der Sar was not in goal at OT when Adebayor got the late goal. It seems all y'all GAYnners are just the same breed. Lordi, please tutor these boys to always check their facts before posting comments to mis-inform the public. P.S. Were u alive when a rampant United side(WITHOUT RUUD) scored 4 goals at Highbury against a team that had Henry, Bergkamp n Vieira? Were u also alive in 2001 when a tenacious United side spanked Arsenal(with HENRY) 6-1 at OT? Repeat such feats against Man Utd before i can reckon with u gays. Until then . . . . .Man Utd will always be Arsenal's master. |
@ Lordimpaq, Anutha thorough objective comment from a GUNNER. If 25% of ur fans are like u . . .we will have a conflict-free sports section in Nairaland. In all honesty, this is the 1st objective comment i have read on this forum in the last 1000 days. ![]() |
@ Ritchboy, Aiiight, no more disses. Lets discuss like real soccer-buffs now. Champions League is more difficult. . . . . First all, u have to realise UCL boasts of more quality teams than the Premiership so opposition is STIFFER. A team willing to win UCL should be ready to face Liverpool, Chelsea, Barcelona, Real Madrid, AC Milan and Valencia. Can u compare this premium quality of teams to Derby County, Portsmouth and Aston Villa. Furthermore, the Premiership system is easier . . . . Its based on points. It simply means u can win there, draw there, lose there and still win the Premiership. In the UCL . . .every match is important in the K.O. stages, there's no formalty match. You have to WIN every game to win the Champions league!!! Blimey!!!!!!!! Man Utd lost on the last day of the Premiership and still won the title. Arsenal, despite having a 10 game streak of not conceding any goal lost narrowly in the finals and thus lost the UCL. Now tell me . . . . which is easier? If Arsenal had the same kind of run in a league system . . . . they would have won the title but one narrow loss bleeped em up in the UCL. |
@ Lordimpaq, You cannot under-estimate any team in the Premiership. West Ham did a double on Man Utd and Arsenal last season so do the math. However, that does not hide the facts that Arsenal is a small team. There was a time Wenger said . . . .Arsenal cannot be considered GREAT until they win Uefa Champions League. ![]() El-Nino is dangerous. Arsenal are not known to defend set-pieces very well and this is where i think Liverpool will HURT u. Expect to see Pennant on the wings driving in dangerous incursions for El-Nino and Dirk Kuyt to nod in. Mascherano and Alonso should operate in the midfield to neutralise the effects of Fabregas and Flamster . . . .There can only be one winner there. If u don't believe me . . . .Ask Michael Essien and Makelele what they suffered @ Anfield in last season's Champions League. Rafa negates free flowing footie . . . . He is unlike Ferguson who allows opponents to play. Fergie relies on his team's ability to outscore his opponents while Benitez concentrates more on neutralising opponents. Rafa will put a destroyer in his team to water down the effects of your guns so be prepared for HARD TIME. SAF is about . .u have Fab4, Hleb and RVP . . . I have Ron, Roo + Tev, so lets see who has got more skillz. Villa didnt know what hit em on saturday . . . Fergie deliberately played Anderson, Nani, and Tev to outplay Young, Agbonlahor and Luke Moore. Dont be surprised if Liverpool beat u 4-1 like they did last season . . . . .Rafa is going to choke u guys up and hit y'all on a counter. BE WARNED!!!!!!!!!!!!! @ Banderas, Dont be such a bore. Wenger will always have enough in his coffers because he does not SPEND. While the likes of Man Utd can go out there and buy big in the transfer market . . . .Wenger prefers to go to ASEC MIMOSA to raid players. West Ham also beat Arsenal home and away so does that make em better than Arsenal? Stop talking like a market woman. Head to head games means shit . . . .It is what happens after a run of 38 games that matters and Fergie has done better than Wenger in that respect. Tevez and Flamini? I am having a laugh. How many times has Darren Fletcher and John O'Shea outfoxed Flamster. ![]() The only worry in your team is Van Persie and i pray he makes it before the clash on the 3rd of November. Sagna will be a ninny against Nani . . . . .Ronaldo will plant Clichy on his ass. Wayne Rooney has disgraced Toure time and time again . . . .Wazza has scored against Arsenal every season since he joined in 2004. You are talking as if these teams never played together . . . . . . Hleb will be shackled by Hargreaves . . . . .Rosicky is no match for Evra and your whole team will run out of ideas on the day. I forsee a repeat of the 4-2 showdown at Highbury. . . .where Ronaldo scored 2 goals in 3 minutes. ![]() |
@ Ritchbitch, Dont be such a nincompoop. Champions League is harder to win! In the EPL . . . . .The only quality team u guys get to play with are Liverpool, Chelsea and Man Utd. In UCL . . . .U have great teams like Barcelona, AC Milan, Real Madrid, Valencia, PSV and Porto. Do u really think u could have beaten Barcelona 3-1 away like u did Spurs or beat Valencia 6-0 like u trounced Derby County? Why are u talking through ur arse? |
@ Lordimpaq, Exactly ma point. The last time we played against ALMUNIA . . . . . .Ma lads popped 4 goals in Highbury. It can be done again . . . . . I believe in ma boy's uncanny ability to carve out any defence with skills and stealth. The fear of TEVEZ is the beginning of WISDOM. I told some knuckle-headz 8 weeks ago to JUDGE APACHE when Rooney and Ronaldo gets back. Was i right? Against Liverpool? Dont count your eggs before they hatch. Fernando Torres ant be pocketed if he's allowed space to operate. He is pacy and can outrun Clichy, Eboue, Sagna and Gallas!!!!!!!! Remember how he scored against Chelsea? Mascherano is rearing to destroy Fabregas . . . . .Carragher to stop Adebayor . . . . .Gerrard to bully Flamini. Honestly . . . .I don't see Arsenal coming out of Anfield with any point. United will go on top by 6 pm on Sunday. We shall consolidate that position at the Emirates the upper week. ![]() @ Banderas, A small team can be defined as any buncha idiots/manager that has failed to win any title in 2 consecutive seasons. They are often managed by a Viewer who makes excuses that his players are young and still growing. The Viewer is also a hypocrite who has never won anything in Europe in his 23 years as a manager! @ joe b, Thats the SPIRIT!!!! ![]() |
@ ritchbitch, What has Wenger won in the last 2 seasons? ZILCH!!!!!!!!!!! No Prem, No UCL, No FA cup, No community shield. Is that what u call a good manager? C'mon . . . . . Rafa won the UCL in his debut season at Liverpool. Won the FA cup a year later and the Community Shield by popping Chelsea. They narrowly missed the UCL again this year so he deserves some credits and i would place him above Wenger. Your manager is a Arrow. He lay claims to developing players that are already developed. Cesc is Barcelona through and through . . . . . . He has always been a good player. Henry won the World Cup in 1998 before joining the Arses . . . .Vieira was snapped away from AC Milan . . . .who else? Theo Walcott was from Southampton and Kolo Toure/Emma Eboue were from ASEC MIMOSA in Ivory Coast!!!!!!!!!!! So, what makes Wenger a great manager? @ Dayokanu, This is not even about UCL. Arsene Wenger has never won anything in EUROPE. Be it UCL, European winners cup, UEFA cup or fuckever. He is the most over-hyped manager in the world as we speak. Some of their fans even claim Wenger discovered Kanu Nwankwo. ![]() |
3 Premiership titles in 11 seasons is a FAILURE. Unless u wanna tell us 3/11 is a pass mark in any test. Thats less than 30%, mate. Compare that to Fergie's 9/15 or Mourinho's 2/3 then u must agree Wenger has failed. I dont know what Wenger's speacialty is as a football manager. Managing young players? Ferguson is better than him in that respect. Winning titles? Ferguson is miles ahead of him. European campaign? He doesnt even come close to Rafa, Mourinho or Ferguson. So whats the criteria that makes Wenger a good coach? Raiding players from academies all over the globe? The only recognised players that Arsene groomed from his own academy is Ashley Cole and David Bentley in 11 YEARS!!!!!!!!! C'mon . . . . . . Take this Wenger is a great manager into the BIN . . . .Yemi Tella(R I P) is better than him!!!!! |
@ Lordimpaq, Dont kid yourself into believing u can beat Liverpool @ Fortress Anfield. The last time u done that in the league was 2003/04(UNBEATEN SEASON) Beating Liverpool @ Anfield is only exclusive to Man Utd . . . . .The GIANT CRUSHERS. Only God knows the number of UNBEATEN RUNS we have stopped in the last few years . . . . ![]() Arsenal in 2004 . . .Chelsea in 2005 . . .Lyon in 2005 . . .Liverpool in 2007 . . .Sporting in 2007 2004/05 . . . . . Alonso and Mellor broke your hearts. 2005/06 . . . . . .Luis Garcia scored a late goal that got Wenger fuming like a locomotive train. 2006/07 . . . . . .Peter Crouch got a hatrick and made Kolo Toure and Gallas look like WIMPS. 2007/08 . . . . . .EL-NINO's hatrick? |
@ Dayokanu, Touche. Arsene Wenger is a failure. He is well liked no doubt but he is a cunning bastard with the way he deceives Arsenal fans with his ploy. Check this . . . .He deliberately buys cheap players and young players as a safe option to make EXCUSES. When they LOSE . . . . .He is quick to say . . . The players are still young and maturing, they will get BETTER with time. When they WIN . . . It changes to, Fabregas can be compared to Mitchel Platini and he is the best player in the world and reh reh reh. Do u also realise Wenger is not even a master at grooming young players? Fabregas was stolen from Barcelona's team B . . . a lot of idiots on this forum think it was Arsene that moulded him to be a good player. Cesc has won the golden ball/ golden boot in a FIFA under-17 competition before he was bought by Wenger . . .He's got the potentials already. A team that has produced Messi, Iniesta, Puyol, Xavi, Valdes and Luis Garcia should take the credits not Arsenal. Fabregas would still have been a good player even if he moved to Enyimba . . . ![]() Why people feel he is a good manager beats me. He has never defended the Premiership title in his 11 years in the Premiership. Mourinho defended his and almost made 3 consecutive titles . . . .Ferguson has done it many times but AW is still a muppet. Wenger's European campaign is appaling . . . . . 2006 was the only time he got past the Q/finals in ELEVEN YEARS!!!!!!!!!! Correct me if i am wrong . . . . .what makes this Viewer a good manager? I wouldnt put him in my top 10 in Europe. |
@ Lordimpaq, Lordi Dodi, who likes to party We don't cause trouble, we don't bother nobody . . . . . Back to footie . . . . . I am sure u are fidgeting at the moment especially now that United have found their momentum. How many goals would APACHE score at the Emirates? Ma mind says 2. Make no bones about it . . . . United will stand tall against Arsenal. Prediction: Arsenal 0-3 Man Utd. |
@ tkb 417, Ferguson also won European cup with Aberdeen and Man Utd. What are we talking about here? I still believe Ferguson is better than any living manager in the world at the moment. He has won titles . . . . .won the Premiership with a youth team . . . .groomed players from his own academy and made em stars. Ferguson's man management is unequalled in the whole wide world . . . . HE IS A LEGEND. People are quick to say Wenger plays a young team BUT Ferguson has won titles with his own young team and Arsene is yet to win anything. |
@ Debosky, ANDERSON of Porto made Fabregas look like an OAF at the Emirates. He would make him look more foolish by the time he gorws at Man Utd. When a player rub shoulders with the like of SCHOLESY, GIGGSY, RONALDO, APACHE and WAZZA. . . . .he gets better. The only snag is he wont get to play on the 3rd of November because Hargo/Carrick would be prefered. Make no bones about it . . . . .Anderson is a gem . . . .watch how Fergie will make him another Paul Scholes!!!!!!!!!!!!! Watch this brilliant skill of Anderson taking the piss out of Cesc and 4 Arsenal players at the Emirates. ![]() It has generated 20,000 views on youtube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y8U2V8YW_jg&mode=related&search= |
Thank U very much!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so confident ur ELFIN eyes would have seen what went down on the day. The popular soccer-buffs like Banderas, Loyika and Lordimpaq couldnt shed any light on the issue. Anyways . . . . .I hope Adebayor celebrates anutha INFAMOUS PARTY on the 2nd of November. ![]() Nani and Anderson? Dont be too critical of these lads. . . . . .Nani has been outstanding from day one. Anderson is just 19 . . . . .he had no pre-season games to shape and tone him ready for the English game. Besides . . . .he was rushed into the games and played in an unfamiliar position against Citeh. Watch out for the Brazilian . . . . . He is going to make Fabregas look like a muppet when he gets more games under his belt. |
@ Debosky, Dont be such a tard. Of course, every team would still play 38 games BUT playing 6 HOME games puts GAYNNERS at a vantage position. 6 HOME GAMES means GAYNNERS have had it easier than their contemporaries in the league AT THIS STAGE. Everyone knows home games are much easier than away games . . . only a spaz like Debosky doesnt know. ![]() P.S. Can u explain to me how Wenger's Arsenal got walloped 6-1 by Fergie's Man Utd in 2001? ![]() |
@ Loyika, Tevez was offered the plastic surgery option at Boca Juniors and he declined it. He said the scar is what makes him Carlos Tevez and nuthing can take that away from him. I kinda liked that about him . . . . . .Very soon he shall be named SCARFACE. I dont think David Gill was responsible for the fixtures. Heard it was Wenger that kept complaining that Hleb, Ogogo and Denilson hates traveling to away matches. He managed to get some testicles licked and sucked and got things his way but its fast catching up on him now. Arsenal being a London club is well liked and they get these cheap favours . . . . Do u really think 3 away games in 9 League games is reasonable? |
@ Loyika, Clatterbutt is not good enough for a HEAD TO HEAD game. I suspect Steve Bennett would officiate the match as he is the most senior in the Prem now. At last . . . .Fabregas and Wenger collects Barclays awards . ![]() When was the last time they did? ![]() Wenger hasnt been nominated for over 30 months now. If Arsenal wins Liverpool and United despatches Boro this weekend . . . . Man Utd player and manager would win the awards. We have done 6 in a trot like the GAYNNERS but have let in fewer goals and has been more entertaining this October. I expect Rooney/Tevez and Ferguson to clinch this month's awards and everything returns to normal after that. Meanwhile . . . . . . . .are u paying attention to Tevez, Nani and Anderson? Has Tevez justified his hype yet or not? Think about it . . . . . . .Tevez for Player of the season next may . . . . .Do u agree? The same Villa u gays were hyping just before the match is the one u are putting down now. Yes . . . .they trounced Chelsea under Jose Mourinho. When was the last time Arsenal popped Chelsea? Ages ago. Pray tell!!!!!!!! Arsenal's fixtures have favoured em a lot . . . .6 home matches in 9 games(someone must be ill in the FA headquarters). A team that has played 9 games in the league should have at least played 4 away games but NOT Arsenal . . .always BRIBING their way!!!!! United has played 10 games with 5 away games(BALANCED) Liverpool has played 9 games with 5 away games(FAIRLY-BALANCED) Chelsea has played 10 games with 6 away games(FAIRLY-UNBALANCED) ARSENAL has played 9 games with JUST 3 AWAY GAMES(GROSSLY UNBALANCED). How many litres of SEMEN does WenGAY swallow to buy the title? This is RIDICULOUS. |
@ Debosky, Stop talking through ur ass. The score-line was 3-1 with 11 against 11. As a matter of fact, United eased its foot on the pedal when it became 10 men for Villa. Liverpool is going to trounce u gays come sunday. They have all the resources to destroy Arsenal at Anfield. I cant wait to see y'all voyeurstic faces this time next week. @ A-40, Villa plays a more direct football than Arsenal. A very decent team but they ran outta luck and ideas with the likes of Tevez, Roo and Anderson calling the shotz. I dont see Arsenal going to Villa park to nick points . . . .those lads are brave and terrific. If i see Tevez body-slammed? He cannot be tripped. Ma boy is a pit-bull . . . . .never gets injured . . .never gets bullied . . . .he can kill. Let Gallas and Kolo Toure bring it on . . . . Apache will gun em down. Rooney Vs Sagna? No match . . . . . . . Wazza always score against the GAYnners . . . . . .Its a LAW OF NATURE. |
@ Loyika, Are u sure u want Clatterbutt? Remember he loves favouring away sides and he gets influenced by HIGH PROFILE players. ![]() Compare to Ferdinand, Neville, Rooney and Ronaldo to Hleb, Eduardo, Eboue, Flamini and Fabianski ![]() Now do the math!!!!!!!!!! Arsenal V Man Utd will be massive. Every tackle and decision will be contested. We've got 4 players that can change the course of a match with a moment of brilliance. I cant wait to grill u faggotz but lets see how u shape up against the Scousers. @ A-40, I didnt see anything malicious in what happened against Lescott. The referee didnt see anything when Evra was pulled down against Man City. A Arrow ignored Joe Cole's murderous dive on Ronaldo's heels at OT . . . and so many other fuckeries were ignored. Another oaf in BLACK refused to send Fab4 off the pitch after his misbehaviour on saturday Tell me why i should see Jo Lescott when all the other schitzos were overlooked . . . . . Villa's goal against Man Utd was dodgy . . . .Luke Moore was offside and he obviously blocked Van Der Sar's line of sight to catch the ball. |
@ Faitymine, You said in Italy there were always 3 top teams! Believe me, in England, there were more than only 3, the difference is that Man Utd beat any which came their way. It is because of us a top team's (Liverpool) being record champion is in danger. It was Man Utd who had to fight with a helluva clubs for winning the title, which means a lot of different teams challenging us and coming close but hardly beat us for the title. Nowadays you can't imagine a club out of the top 4 in the PL to win the title, but here in following I will post you the top 3 over the years, showing that there have been so many different clubs challenging for the title, which means a lot of good teams, thus stronger competition than only with 3 teams over the years to fight it out with each other: 1993: 1. Manchester United 2. Aston Villa 3. Norwich City 1994: 1. Manchester United 2. Blackburn 3. Newcastle 1995: 1. Blackburn 2. Manchester United 3. Nottingham Forest 1996: 1. Manchester United 2. Newcastle 3. Liverpool 1997: 1. Manchester United 2. Newcastle 3. Arsenal 1998: 1. Arsenal 2. Manchester United 3. Liverpool 1999: 1. Manchester United 2. Arsenal 3. Chelsea 2000: 1. Manchester United 2. Arsenal 3. Leeds 2001: 1. Manchester United 2. Arsenal 3. Liverpool 2002: 1. Arsenal 2. Liverpool 3. Manchester United 2003: 1. Manchester United 2. Arsenal 3. Newcastle ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 2004: 1. Arsenal 2. Chelsea 3. Manchester United 2005: 1. Chelsea 2. Arsenal 3. Manchester United 2006: 1. Chelsea 2. Manchester United 3. Liverpool 2007: 1. Manchester United 2. Chelsea 3. Liverpool 2008: ![]() 1. Manchester United 2. Chelsea 3. Liverpool You see, there are indeed 10 different teams finishing in the top 3 over 15 years! So, how can anyone say there wasn't that much competition? Another fact shown above: Since the start of the Premier League Fergie has NEVER finished outside the Top 3!!! Another great achievement! |
@ Loyika, I cant believe u ate a fat humble pie concerning Man Utd's victory at Aston Villa. Dont get it twisted . . . . .not too many teams would go there and WIN like Man United did. We all saw how they dealt with Jose Mourinho's Chelsea so it wasnt child's play. When u have prodigious talents buzzing all over ur team like United . . . u cannot go wrong. Wazza, Apache, Scholesy, Giggsy, Nani and Anderson were rampant and taught the Villa defence one or two things about soccer. Neat and crisp interplay between the midfield and attack won the day for Man United. At Goodison . . . . . I didnt see anything too unusual in that match. United have been denied clearer penalty shouts than all what i saw at Goodison park. The only flaw was the 1st red card copped by Everton. The Ref was def'ly influenced by Gerrard's rants but that isnt Liverpool's fault. Its a status thing . . . .Terry, Rio and Ashley Cole would have escaped such offence but who the Bleep is Hibbert in the EPL? ![]() Anyways, Man Utd is climbing and gaining mad momentum. Wazza-Tev-Ron . . . . . .WHERE YA GUNS AT? |
@ Dayokanu, Oooops ma bad, But do u agree with me that Bundesliga is not as rated as Serie A, Premiership and La Liga? Then what do u have to say about the English league's tedious schedule? English clubs play 38 games without breaks . . . .German clubs play 34 games with 6 weeks break in between!!!!!!!!! This is the reason why England/English clubs suffer more injuries than their contemporaries in Europe. Take a look at this: http://www.scor-holding-switzerland.ch/4239.asp That link should give u an idea why English clubs don't get too far in Europe. The few clubs that get near to the UCL title are clubs that have no interest in the domestic title chase. Liverpool in 2005 . . . Milan in 2007 and so on and forth. You need to respect what English clubs are doing despite the FATIGUE and stress they go through week in week out. Do i need to tell u why Milan ran over Man Utd again after reading that link? |
Did u say Benitez is pardoned by people? Lemme tell u this . . . . His arse is on the line if he does not DELIVER this season. He is not under too much pressure because Liverpool are now used to failing to clinch the domestic league. The last time they won it is 1990 so do the math. If Benitez was the manager of a team like Arsenal or Man United who has tasted and enjoyed the title before. . . .he would have been sacked. Every fan in this country wants the Premiership before any other title even if UCL is more glamorous. This is Rafa's last chance to take a shot at the Premiership . . . . .The patience of the Scousers is running thin so don't be deceived. Benitez's head is on the line . . . . Celtic cannot be considered the best team in Europe because they don't have a strong league. This is why we have UEFA coefficients that places top leagues above the weaker leagues. For instance,a 25-goal player from Serie A would have more points on European golden boot charts than a 25-goal player from the League of Wales. Scottish league is GRADE B in Europe just like the Portugese league and the Bundesliga. If Celtic were to be in the Premiership, La Liga or Serie A then they would have been the best with their number of titles. Ask yourself . . . .why do we have 4 teams representing England in UEFA and just 2 in Bundesliga and the Scottish league? |
@ Banderas, Now its whatever . . . . . I dont blame u though . . . .ur tentacles does not spread beyond the Premiership. Lets see what pans out in the next fortnight after playing Liverpool and Man Utd. How ur muppet defence would cope with the threat of Torres-Kuyt-Crouch-Wazza-Tev-Ronaldo tingles ma spine!!!! |
@ Dayokanu, With all humility, i have to say the logic behind your reasoning is tremendously flawed. Inter-house competition has no grounds because we also have intra-house competition. Take Liverpool for instance . . . .They have defeated Chelsea in the UCL times without number under Jose Mourinho. However, they finished a staggering 37 points below Chelsea when they won the UCL in 2005. Liverpool also finished 17 points below Chelsea last season and they knocked Chelsea out in the UCL. Bearing this in mind . . . . who is the best between Jose Mourinho and Rafa Benitez. 99.9% of soccer pundits will tell u its Mourinho so where does your inter-house sports logic holds water? Blimey!!!!!!!!! West Ham did a double on Arsenal and Man Utd last season . . . .FACT Is it fair to say Curbishley/Pardew is a better manager than Arsene Wenger or Alex Ferguson? The only way we can rate them is the TOTAL number of titles they have in their kitty as a manager. If u are a champion of your house , . . . . . .Bring all the overall titles u have won both home and away and lets count. You also have to take English league's tedious schedule into consideration . . . . .Major European leagues go on WINTER-BREAKS. Premiership teams play 38 GAMES every season without BREAKS while BUNDESLIGA teams play just 34 GAMES with 6 weeks break in Dec/Jan. Are u telling me this little incentive does not put other European teams at a vantage position over Premiership sides? Mate, u have to come up with a better theory that Hitzfeld is better than Ferguson. The last comment holds no water at all. |
@ Banderas, Banderas:This is why people say GAYnners are DUMB. Inter Milan, Fiorentina, Ajax, PSV, Benfica, Setubal, Villareal, Valencia and PORTO have not conceded a loss and they are all in Europe. Porto has played 7 and WON 7(No Draws, No Losses) so how does that make Arsenal the in-form team in Europe? Are u on drugs? I overstand the fact that NOT all GAYNNERS on Nairaland are PILLOCKS. But, all PILLOCKS on Nairaland are GAYNNERS. Does anyone here agree with me? ![]() |
@ Banderas, And how many clean sheets has Arsenal kept in the Premiership in comparison to Man United? United destroyed a very good side away and you are here talking about clean sheet. Do u realise Man Utd is the only team in Europe that is yet to concede at HOME in the league? ![]() Make no bones about it . . . . .United's defence is the best in the league. P.S. He is a winner, a champion, HE IS THE GREATEST EVER without a doubt!!! If there is another manager in football history with more silverware than SAF, let his critics submit his name HERE or TAPE IT SHUT FOREVER!!! |
@ Dayokanu & gabrielgb, Lemme break y'all something proper . . . . SAF is the best manager in the world without a doubt. He has won more trophies than any living manager in the world and that is what gives him the cutting edge over all others. I have heard people say there was no competition in the EPL back in the days . . .thats a load of stinking balderdash. There was nothing like BIG 4 in em days so i would say it was more competitive then than even these days when only few clubs can throw money around. YES he has WON the most trophies, but i've heard people say he had longer time to do it than others. Poor argument - he still had to win them! What counts here is WHAT You HAVE DONE rather than what You MIGHT HAVE DONE. Its like saying: If i live another 5 years . . . I would be richer than Bill Gates . . . How sick is this statement? ![]() For Instance, what guarantees Wenger would win 21 titles in the next 40 years? The answer is NOTHING. I'm tired of people saying IF MOURINHO had stayed 5 years or if HITZFELD had stayed 10 years he would have won more . . . . The bottom line is these managers have to be JUDGED on what they have achieved not what they MIGHT have achieved. Think about it, If Ferguson had left in 1992 . . . No one would have ever thunk he would go on to win 9 EPL in the coming 15 years. Imagine if he left in 2001, considering his record then, people would have argued that if he had stayed till 2007 United would have won another 4-5 titles but he has only WON 2 titles between 2002-2007. If Mourinho had left just after 2005/06. . . .Chelsea fans would have argued that Jose would have won quadruple last season but did he? People have said Fergie doesnt rank higher than Hitzfeld because the German has won 2 UCL titles . . .what a buncha twaddle!!!!!!!!! Is UCL the only yard-stick of judging a good manager? What about other competitions? What about man-management? David Beckham? Eric Cantona? Cristiano Ronaldo? Who made these players? Hitzfeld is a midget to Ferguson overall . . . .Bleep his achievements in the UCL . . .Letz see his overall title haul. What I am trying to say is that behind other great managers there is a questionmark because people ask themselves, WHAT . . . IF . .WHY. BUT, Fergie HAS won these titles and that's the difference and the cutting edge he has over others. Yes, he had a lot of time but also due to his ability and personality, otherwise he would have been sacked by United in his early years!!!!!! Its not impossible for Jose to have spent 30 years @ Chelsea or for Hitzfeld to spend 32 years at Bayern Munich. The number of years he has spent is not a factor because he still has to win these titles. Anyways, bottom line is that he has the most trophies! He has them and they can all be counted, there's no . . .what. . .if . . so . . .wherefore . . . . This is REALITY . . .No Imaginations. Sir Alex Ferguson is the best manager in the world. |
