Kobo, the message clearly shows that we are just a group of people on Nairaland(Integrity Vanguard, a GROUP of members of Nairaland.com), so nothing says it's Nairaland officially, just a group of people on Nairaland.

Btw, pls check your box asap, I sent a mail to you.

We are able to meet and pull this advert because of Seun's Nairaland. So we must promote NL too.

I was at Wazobia FM for the better part of today.

After consulting with a number of people on this thread, it was agreed that Bakare's message should be used, and not the one I composed up there.

But the Cool Fm production guy said there was no way we can remove the song at the background. So what we eventually agreed that the that Bakare's message will be written out, reproduced exactly by Cool FM person, with the addition 'This message is from pastor Tunde bakare and sponsored by Integrity Vanguard, a group of progressive members of Nairaland.com, Nigeria's largest online discussion forum', all to be shrunk to 1 minute.

The jingle will be out by noon tomorrow, I was promised.

I also made payment for 4 slots immediately - 1 regular, 1 premium per day for 2 days.

Regular is between 12-3 pm while premium is between 5am-12noon and 3pm-11pm.

Cost per slot for regular (1 minute) is 9,408 and premium(1 minute) is 11,712, but there is a policy that 'Political advert attracts 100% surcharge', and that affected our plan, as we planned based on usual charges.

I was able to get 5% discount sha, but that was almost neutralized by 5% VAT.

So I paid 31,500 for jingle production and 4 slots(2 premium, 2 regular) cost 84,270, all totaled N115,770.

We expect the premium aired between 3-11pm Tuesday and Wednesday and regular aired 12-3pm Wednesday and Thursday. I told them that we will prefer 6pm for the premium, but they said they will get back to me tomorrow afternoon for the exact time our schedule will be aired.

We will be making more funds available for them when this expires and try to roll it till, if possible, next week.

I will also open discussion on Wazobia PH too tomorrow, as I learnt that's teh msot popular station in PH.

I also need somebody to recommend to us the most listened to radio station in Ibadan(preferably Yoruba) which we can use.

Guys, I have come up with this message, to be given to Cool FM people and rendered into a jingle with a music at the background.

BUHARI’S ADVERT SCRIPT
If asked what is the major problem with Nigeria, many Nigerians will agree it’s bad leadership, manifesting in the pervasive corruption and self-interestedness among our leaders.

We often lament that our leaders are bad but we have refused to take action.

Here comes a golden opportunity to break away from the past and install a tested and trusted leadership that can lead Nigeria to the desired path of glory.

Of all the candidates presenting themselves for the presidency, General Muhammadu Buhari and Pastor Tunde Bakare stand tall as the men that can rescue this country from the mess we current find ourselves in.

General Buhari is a very honest man, the only living former Head of State that doesn’t have a plot of land in Abuja, a man we can trust with our treasury, a man that can instill a sense of discipline and patriotism in the masses, a man that will lead by example.

Nigeria is on the brink of collapse; General Buhari is the man that can rescue us.

Good people of Nigeria, this is a moment of history; good men can come from any region or religion, let’s show we can rise above religious and ethnic sentiments and give the right man our vote. Buhari/Bakare are the men that can rescue this country.

Let’s give them chance.

Vote Buhari, vote CPC.

Guys, should we settle for a fresh jingle, scripted by us? We have not been able to overcome the challenge of removing the background song in that Bakare message. I have not even seen it. And time is not on our side.
I will suggest we prepare our own script and have Wazobia FM produce it for us(cost is 36,000).

If not Buhari, who?
By Uche Ezechukwu 0803 622 3337 [email: onukwube1@yahoo.com]
Monday, April 04, 2011

Last weekend, it looked as if Nigeria was marshalling for war and not just elections. The preparations were not only physical; they were more psychological, to the extent that the government created an overall impression that the elections which debuted with the National Assembly polls last Saturday was not just routine activities which Nigerians should have started getting used to after 12 years.

Even some schools were ordered shut as parents and wards were suddenly invited to evacuate their wards, even before they could take their examinations. It did not matter to anybody that they had earlier lost three clear weeks to the voters registration exercise. Any government which creates the impression that it cannot protect its youngsters and children in school has no business governing anybody. For, even during wars, schools remain in operation.
Harassed crowds at the banks, airports, motorparks and other public institutions rushed around like people on last rites of passage. In the midst of this bedlam, what seems to have become a universal feeling is that the Nigerian politician has become like a leopard which is incapable of changing its spots. It has been taken for granted that rather than change, the Nigerian political class will remain corrupt, undisciplined and therefore, dangerous, especially to his own kind. In that process, he has become dangerous even to the most unconcerned of bystanders – the rest of us.

Of course, anyone who does not agree that the only obstacles standing on Nigeria’s road to greatness and phenomenal development are the twin evils of indiscipline and corruption must be either dishonest or naive. There is no evil today that cannot be ultimately traced to those two factors. It then goes without saying that if these two are eliminated from our society and body politic, our nation can easily rub shoulders with the equally gifted nations of the world. It is these two evils that ultimately combine to make elections a ‘do-or-die’ affair as President Obasanjo shamelessly prescribed, but which Goodluck Jonathan, in his disarming naiveté and innocence, is trying to change. In that determination that has been sabotaged from the onset, he wants to roll out a gargantuan arsenal to prove us naysayers wrong.

Next Saturday, Nigerians would be expected to move ahead of last weekend’s ritual to elect the president who would hold the present and future of our country in his hands. As usual, emotions would dominate logic and commonsense in the choices made by our lopsidedly uneducated and uninformed citizenry. Primordial sentiments will still play a crucial role in the choices that most will make. But as next Saturday comes nearer and nearer, the God inside every voter will come alive and conscience will nudge him and her to allow the head, rather than the heart to take prominence.

In many Nigerians from all the cardinal points of Nigeria, their heart will instruct them to stand behind that suave looking, gentle and innocent looking gentleman in a bowler heart, who looks like a neighbour next door. He is likeable and even wears a name that invokes Godliness and panders to our growing woeful and disastrous surrender to the divine benevolence as the solution to our many man-made predicaments. Jonathan will appeal to most people who are incapable of thinking deeply and are, therefore, incapable of placing what has been and what could be, side by side.

Those are people who have been unable to keep mental records as to remember that no promise that have been made in the last four years has been kept. ‘My people’, without any proof or indication, already believe that their ‘brother’ would turn their tattered landscapes into El Dorado. The likes of Gov. Peter Obi and his brother governors have been boasting of how the South East would suddenly be transformed into the Candy Mountain when not one of those lofty promises was captured in the 2011 budget. If Nigerian voters had only hearts and no heads, Jonathan would sweep the polls.

However, I have every reason to believe that at some crucial point in the life of an individual, it is his head that rules. It is the head that queries about the prospects for the better future, after a clear-minded assessment of the past and the present. It is the head that queries whether you are better or worse now than you were 12 years, eight years or four years ago. It is the head that queries about how far past promises have been fulfilled, and that even though the head and the senses have been befuddled with the endless rattles of beautiful adverts, it wonders whether any of those adverts has been able to stand the test of truth.

The voters who use their heads would recall that we have received excuses and no action and would start to reason that Nigerians deserve better than excuses, especially excuses that have become insults. Like the one which claims that we cannot get our refineries to work because ‘cartels’ that import refined petroleum would not let us. Then the other one that we cannot improve our power supply because the cartels that import generators won’t let us. The thinking Nigerians would start to reason that for us to escape from these quagmires and more into whose prisons corruption, indiscipline and lack of patriotism have held us hostage, it goes without saying that we must have someone with the capacity to give battle to these evil, especially someone who has shown the ability to do so in the past, and who has been proven to have never wavered from those commitments.

Muhammadu Buhari might not be the most qualified person to govern Nigeria at this point in time, but he is definitely the most capable among all those who have presented themselves for the 2011 presidential race. He has remained incorruptible and ramrod in his sticking to principles. More importantly he has proved all his critics wrong in all the things that have been invented against him. He has been accused of being uncompromising and rigid, but in the condition that Nigeria finds itself today, those could only be salutary recommendations.

One great shortfall of Jonathan’s aspiration is that he is a pigeon among the hawks; no matter how much he might want to act in his natural good nature, he will be frustrated by the evil leviathan that is his party. It would therefore be great folly of him to believe that he can grow above his shadow which is the PDP. On the other hand, Buhari is uncompromising in his principled fights in any direction that has been adopted. You cannot come back to ask him to make compromises in order to accommodate self-serving interests. I know because I have served him as the director of his media and publicity in 2003. His fair-mindedness is legendary and in spite of accusations by Lilliputians that he is extremist and discriminatory, no one has ever been able to come forward with concrete evidence.

It is not for nothing that he is reputed as ‘Mai Gaskiya’, the truthful one. He has never told a lie and will not do so, even to win an election. It is needless to say too many words to convince Nigerians that our present and future can only be safe if we put them in Buhari’s hands next Saturday and that is the only way that the next four years will not see us a country that will be competing with the other failed nations of the world.

The challenges of the present and future are enormous but they will be a child play if we do not rescue Nigeria from the stranglehold of the marauders who are holding us hostage. Buhari does not only have the capacity to end indiscipline and corruption. He is also capable of bringing back accountability at all levels of governance because he will lead by example and transparency conduct of governance. He is prepared to make the necessary sacrifices to achieve it. He has the guts, the courage, fairness and a will of steel to salvage Nigeria and bring about security of lives and property which have defied all the previous lip service that has been paid.

I endorse Buhari because he is the solution to the hydra-headed problems of Nigeria which look insolvable but which can be swept away by a determined, iron-willed and honest leadership that is committed to the present and future of this country. Nigeria needs that type of leadership now than ever.
If it is not only Buhari who can raise Nigeria from its knees, who else, among all the candidates can? Use your head, not your heart.

Reindeer and DK, pls tell them. It's a pity people stoop so low just to hang this man. One man was even telling me yesterday that Buhari wanted to cancel all Christian public holidays in his reign! Haba! People now just sit down and concoct lies and hang it on the man's neck. That was how somebody went as far as digging out names of Buhari's governors to claim they are rich, all in order to call Buhari a bad name. It's gone that ridiculous.

I'm a great ife too, guys. Great Ife grads are known for standing by the truth!
Politics › Re: What Attracted You To Support Buhari/bakare 2011 by Jarus(m): 7:03am On Apr 04, 2011
I don't hate PDP, what I hate is the way it is been run, like a cabal, an assembly of people,99% of whom are bad. After all, Rotimi Amaechi and Danjuma Goje are also PDP politicians but whom I admire. In fact, in my coming article(Rescuing Nigeria: My First 11) I mentioned Rotimi Amaechi, a PDP, as part of the team I believe can deliver Nigeria.

Back to the subject, I like, most Nigerians have always lamented the pitiable state of things in this country. I believe we cannot continue to lament, we must take action. The first option was Goodluck Jonathan. He started very well, appointing someone I trust(Jega) as INEC chair to my surprise. I also admired his humility, but I knew for sure that Nigeria needs more than humility to deliver this country. So against Atiku, IBB and co, I supported GEJ, because GEJ didn't appear to me as someone who will empty our Treasury, and I won't trust Atiku with Treasury.

But while my consideration for GEJ lasted I nursed a number of fears: this guy has got no biceps, you need strong biceps to run Nigeria. Obasanjo was very strong, but he used his strenght negatively. I was afraid the machinery of govt will be easily hijacked from GEJ and we will witness something worse than YRD's era where a cabal ruled or Shagari era where his ministers literally took over and drained the till. These fears were too weighty to ignore. But events that came up later nailed the coffin of my pessimism for GEJ. He later became so desperate that he proved me wrong that he was not a typical PDP politician. How do we explain the bribing of delegates by 7000 dollars on the eve of PDP primary? The delegates were practically quarantined, locked up in a room, their phones collected so that Atiku will not induce them.Yet in the open space, this man wears the face of an innocent man that cannot hurt a fly. I don't trust double-faced personalities. So I ruled out GEJ.

When rumours came in that AC wanted to use I was very ecstatic. I changed my NL signature to Ribadu 2011 etc.I wrote articles in papers endorsing it. I changed my FB profile pic to Ribadu etc. I believe Ribadu will go a long way in tackling corruption. I knew Ribadu will not steal. But a couple of questions bothered my mind: how does Ribadu take care of Tinubu, who is almost not different from PDP men? How realistic is Ribadu's chance?

That was how Buhari came to the equation. Buhari, like Ribadu, also came with an inti-corruption credential, but with Buhari, I don't have any godfather to worry about, he has been there before and will not need to learn to Nuhu, he is more feared by the kleptocratic class, he stands a far more realistic chance of beating PDP, I can bet with my life that he will not steal, so why don't I support him as part of walking my talk all these years of lamentation m

So I threw my weight behind Buhari. As for Bakare, I also find it unthinkable that he will steal or allow people around him to.

If Ribadu gets half of Buhari's vote on April, I will resign as NL mod. Even a more popular, heavily moneyed AC candidate Atiku did not get half of Buhari's vote in 2007. No disrespect to Ribadu(I am also his fan) but whoever thinks he stands a chance in this election must have been sleeping for 3 months and just woke up.

I will not put my money on this poll, just like the earlier Thisday poll, I am just waiting for April 9-11.

On BB winning without SE and SW, it's not bigotry, it's a statement of possibility. It's like reminding us that 'Obj won in 1999 without SW' recall SW almost equals SE + SS voters. In 1999, before announcement of presidential elections result, I never knew there was a party as PDP. When I was listening to radio and hearing PDP on in so so so states, I was asking which party was PDP. This was because in my LG in Kwara, only Saraki's APP and Yoruba's AD were known. I am sure in my many LGs in SW states in 1999 they never heard of PDP. This is for those who say CPC cannot win because it doesn't have national structure. In 1999, PDP was not national enough, yet they won presidential election.
Politics › Re: What An Unfortunate Slip Of Tongue By Gej by Jarus(m): 8:42pm On Apr 02, 2011
Other major gaffes by GEJ. He referred to INEC Chairmanship position as 'INEC President' in his CNN interview. He said in Ibadan rally he was contesting for governor. They had to whisper to his ears that he uttered 'governorship' instead of 'presidential' and he quickly joked it off that 'Mr Akala, your position is safe o, I meant presidential election I'm contesting'.

These slips are unpresidential, honestly.

Kobojunkie has also dropped her contribution via western union. If cashed on Monday, it is expected to swell up our contribution to something in the neighbourhood of 220,000 depending on exchange rate.

We still expect more donations.

With what we have now, we can conveniently pay for the Wazobia advert of 4 slots per day for 3 days.

Which other station can we use? I'll suggest a popular radio station in Oyo state and the jingle will be in Yoruba.

What do you guys think?

Meanwhile, I still await the Bakare jingle with new background song.

@DG,
For guber, it's a 3-race horse between AC's Belgore, PDP's Fatah Ahmed and Oloye's Gbemi. DPP guy, Olawepo is also trying, but stands no chance against the trio. I also doubt Belgore winning. By my assessment based on what I read and heard from people at home, it can swing either to Gbemi or Fatah 50-50 chance.

These are PDP members o. Add that to CPC members and people of other parties in Kano that will vote for Buhari in presidential election and let's see how Jonathan will win by landslide.

Another political talk, I'm sure in his bedroom, even Kwankwaso knows Buhari will carry the day in his state.

Another question: Does wazobia fm, a pidgin station, air pure English jingles? I don't think that Bakare message will be inspiring in pidgin as it is directly from his mouth(English). What do u guys think? Let's conclude asap so I can finalize with WZB Monday morning.
