Taliban: is not a question of fear, this Algerian team is very good and we overrated ourselves. Great tactics and ultra smart football are the only thing they can make us win.
They said we have better players than Algeria.
They even said because Mahrez is not a starter at Man City, he is not good, our players are better than him.
Teaser4: bro no mind that one...the pepper get sauce . you go see am when you get am...since the post-cbt era i no dey take folks serious here except for uncle Jarus.... other source na wash...
Loveprick: Thank you for your inputs in this thread. Pls help us find out when APL will be expected. Your source/sauce was 100% accurate even when there was a change in NNPC management. Your source/sauce is a sure source/sauce. Thank you.
lol
Too early for my "sauces" too. Not even NNPC HR may have answer now. A lot of processes involved - collating the interview results, consolidating, analysing, getting approvals, sending to FCC for approval, etc.
Things should get clearer in the next 2 weeks, but for now, I dont think anyone can say when the APL will be sent.
But my personal view is, it should not take very long - possibly before end of August. NNPC has shown seriousness with this recruitment - faster than the 2012 recruitment. I also think they will contact successful candidates via email (rather than just letters). My views.
komekn: But they will know JJay, Okocha, Taribo, Yobo, Ikpeba, Kanu, Yekini, etc
When we say to people that African football has not progressed the way it should have people get all defensive, this is reflection of that. Considering our players and where they play today.
To think between 1994 and 2000 Nigeria had had players in Ajax, Juve, AC Milan, Inter, Monaco, PSG, Chelsea, Arsenal etc, these clubs dont look at our players again, 20 years later.
Or we hardly have players good enough for these teams in the 21st century.
Nedville: There is a guy on YouTube, DZ football an English guy of Algerian descent who follows the premier league
He was previewing the match between Algeria and Nigeria....he praised bounedjah belaili bennacer ounas mahrez guediora as well as the whole team to high heavens
When it came to Nigeria, all he said was that he was expecting a tough match. he said he likes chukwueze...then went forward to name Mikel iwobi and ndidi as their key men....
He concluded by saying eagles lost to Madagascar and have not been stellar in this tournament...he mentioned the fact that we didn't qualify for the past two editions...that he was expecting a tough but controlled win...and that eagles wouldn't cause much problems to them
As a Nigerian watching his video, I was surprised he didn't truly know what we are capable of....but he is only going by off hand knowledge of Nigerian players because he doesn't know them of course, since he isn't a nigerian, he is not obliged to know all of them either
I'm saying this to apply this logic to some of us who think Algerians don't have players and that we can walk over them like paper, just because we don't know them or we haven't heard of them. This guy will be surprised as to what Nigerians will do....as will the rest of africa
Club for club, they are slightly ahead of Nigeria.
I think any independent (say European) follower of football will give this game to Algeria.
Mahrez's stature in world football is enough reason for bookmakers to give this game to them.
Mitocyan: Now that the interview stage is over, I deem it fit to thank and commend the efforts of @DmainMan, @Jarus, @Xfire and other senior nairalanders that have achieved career success for counting it worthy to give back to the community by way of helping us with essential information throughout the course of the process.
When you go on LinkedIn, you will see numerous Nigerians that have achieved career success working in various places like NNPC, Shell, Chevron, Mobil and the likes without any contribution in lifting others yet these few singled out themselves despite their busy schedules to help people still hustling for career success.
It is my desire that you all achieve greater success because of this and continue to contribute to the development of the country. I also want to wish everyone that has participated in the recruitment process great success in the nearest future.
nairalandankrah: Meanwhile, Senegal star Sadio Mane says helping Liverpool win the Champions Leaguewas special, but his “absolute dream” is parading the Africa Cup of Nations trophy through the streets of Dakar. The west African team known as the Teranga Lions are two victories away from fulfilling the dream of their 27-year-old talisman, starting with a semi-final against Tunisia in Egypt Sunday. “Going to Dakar with the trophy would be extraordinary,” said Mane, who shared the Premier League Golden Boot award last season with fellow Africans Mohamed Salah and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. “My absolute dream is to help Senegal win the Africa Cup of Nations -- that would surpass even what I achieved with Liverpool in the Champions League. “We have to accept being among the favourites and many people are assuming we will play Algeria in the final,” said the scorer of three goals so far in the tournament.
I think Mane has done enough to win APOTY 2019 even if he loses tomorrow.
every manager has their anointed, whether or not we like it. Onuachu will always be called upon before Osimehn and there's nothing we can do about that.
as a Barcelona fan, I had to watch a natural right back, being benched for a midfielder taking his position even without him being injured. That's when I knew, some things are meant to be. 20 players have played out of 23 players, na only pesin wey dry dream go expect that number to increase.
neither of the remaining 3 players will get one minute.
I dont hope for 3rd place match but that's an avenue to test the 3 others. I think he will use them in 3rd place match if we lose tomorrow.
Edicoco: Thanks for your responses to enquiries on this thread. Please i want to know if the years of experience is deduced from credentials(post nysc experience) or the role applied for? What if you applied for a role of minimum of 6years experience and you have 9 years post nysc experience? What level will the person be placed? Thanks
BlackHummer: Looks like the release of info from my own reliable source is long overdue. A close source told me that GT upfront has been reviewed to 10m annually because they want us to stick to the job and not chase after chevron, total etc
Topzylaw: Sir Jarus, thanks. But does it mean new hires from the ongoing recruitment won't get upfront payment until January 2020? And does NNPC wait for 3 months before paying their new staff like some Govt. MDAs do? I'd appreciate your insightful reply, sir.
Not sure how it works.
2 possible options.
Let's say you resume in October (3 months to year end).
1, The upfront could be pro-rated (3/12*4m), and paid to you in October end, and the regular monthly subsequently for the rest of the year or 2, The allowances that make up upfront(Housing etc) could be paid monthly till year end
Not sure how it works. Just my guess of possibilities.
On the 3 months wait, I don't think it applies to NNPC. NNPC is not ministry, it is self-funded.
myluck: Good day house, please who has an idea of how much supervisors ( 9 years) ( SS3 )are paid as regards upfront and regular salary. Correct info abeg.I’m not jumping the gun abeg just need the info to put one and two together.
ORIJIN201: Yes, I'm supposed to ask you. You seem to know me already. Making ill-judgement on a character in order to sound intelligent. I gave facts, but you went on to attack personality. They say the truth is bitter. Keep wallowing in mediocrity and playing the blame game. Typical Nigerian/African. Most of us on this forum haven't left this country. The day you leave and see how leadership is supposed to be, you'll curse all your leaders since 1960 to date.
mostob: Footballicaly , 2019 has not been a good year. Being an arsenal fan,Barcelona fan and messi fan ... Damn!! you can guess the rest. Just when I believe we are winning AFCON, OGA Mikael2 started bringing out bad bad history . I hope we rewrite the history come Sunday cos I can't bear another loss. soareagles
NeekolazWorld: And who said am not watching. You think it's easy to play football on the pitch. You all sit back and be talking as if you can do better. If the op is that good of an observer why not direct the post to his instagram or twitter handle so he can see it himself. The main point is that the observation and advice is uncalled for on NL if it will make no difference.
1. We are not professional footballers, so it is not our job to play football
2. People discuss football all over the world. Football analysis is a field itself. You cannot stop people from analysing football.
