I need pictures pls |
The issue is really getting messier. Another version in here: http://odili.net/news/source/2009/feb/2/301.html Who do we believe now? If this is true, then I'm withdrawing my sympathy with Esin, but not my conception of JJ as stingy. |
babs787:I combed the page to get that article writer's email address to write a rejoinder to him on how he has fallen victim of misinformation being circulated by email, but couldn't find it. Anyways, If I'm able to have email address of Nigeriaworld.com, I will find time to write a rejoinder to that article. |
earTHMama:Abiio. . . instead of his 'armschair' activism here |
How much was this? Can I also have something withing the range of 700-750K? |
Let's ahve teh pic here! |
I have budgeted N750,000 for car by next month. I prefer fairly used to tokunboh. Anybody here that wants to sell a nice car within that range? |
spikedcylinder:Do you frequent politics section? |
edujoy:now you're talking. . . you've come here to advertise! |
Becomrrich:This guy can't stop making me laugh! |
I have always seen this guy as a comedian that adds some humour to my day on NL, but this is no longer funny. What can be done to this guy? They have banned him several times but he keeps resurrecting under different usernames. While I do not have any problem with his blind pro-Yoruba analyses, what is most disgusting is his penchant for 'polluting' otherwise sane threads with his ridiculous satellite pictures(he has even graduated to including horrific, scary pictures of human heads). This guy is becoming a menace to NL and all previous entreaties to call him to order have proved abortive. What can be done to restrain this guy? I believe a re-orientation(or is it rehabilitation?) is a good way to start. How can we educate him on how to argue sanely;put more appropriately, how to press home his point without recourse to those useless pictures. |
edujoy:But doesn't this your earlier statement say otherwise?: edujoy:To interprete the above statement as mocking people that said Obama wrote 'Audacity of Lagos'(a typo by the way) and 'Audacity of Hope' is not out of place. In other words you mentioned there that the person goofed twice, first for saying Obama wrote 'Audacity of Lagos' and second for saying he wrote 'Audacity of Hope', which means you didn't know he wrote 'Audacity of hope' |
earTHMama:Word and Opposite! Best, worst ![]() |
Just got this from a friend. Any job for him here?
|
grafikdon:Ivory coast more developed than Nigeria? Pls stop the joke. No be football we dey talk here |
I go like this: -South Africa -Egypt -Morocco -Ghana -Nigeria |
I was also critical of the Sultan's action when it happened, but an article I read in an Islamic magazine, referencing reliable sources-Qur'an and hadith, convinced me that he may not wrong after all. |
O kare ore. Ti oju bafarabale arimu. Ti iwo ba farabale, awa yi o ko o ni Yoruba. Oruko mi ni Suraj(sunanan Sirajo). Mo si wa lati ipinle Kwara. |
edujoy:Are you serious or just joking? Pls don't tell me you don't know Obama wrote a book called 'AUDACITY OF HOPE' |
By now, Nigeria should start exporting Silver and Bronze medals. We've now had more than enough, ![]() |
Kobojunkie:Kobo, u sabi laff oo ![]() Records show that one 70% of ur posts contain ROFLMAO ![]() |
I'm more used to LG. |
To say Lagos is Africa's largest city is to murder Geography, if not English. Have you ever heard Nigeria described as Africa's largest country? This will be most ridiculous an assertion. And Nigeria is by far Africa's most populous country. The same thing applies in city. Lagos is Africa's most populous city, and doesn't even rank in Top 10 Africa's largest cities. Ibadan is West Africa's largest city and third in Africa (behind Jo'burg and Cairo). Land mass, and not population, is used as basis for saying which city/country is largest. Population is used for saying which city/country is most populous, which is anyway only a semantic matter. But what makes it confusing to many people is that population is more reckoned with, because socio-economic problems are directly related to population size and barely land mass. Population density is used to incorporate the two parameters, and it is also a highly reckoned with parameter for geographical and economic analysis. Sudan, for example is far larger than Nigeria. |
The oni is not talking about himself. The oni is the spiritual head of the yorubas. And the father of the yorubas. But he means someone who would be bold to fight for the yorubas. Someone who can look at yar adua faces and tell him he is doing bad to the yorubas. Someone who can question the budget allocation to the yorubas, why they did not include the yoruba. Someone who can question military and political appointment of the govt. and contract award against the yoruba nation. Someone that can talk about yoruba affair and not be a political ashawo.Becommrich will not cease to amaze me. This guy is a comic-extra-ordinaire. What I find most amusing about him is how serious he uses to be when doing his so-called pro-Yoruba analysis. Anyway, the boldened part reminds me of a funny prayer said by our old, illiterate gateman in Offa some years back: The whole family, with our gatemen and other workers in the house were praying at the beginning of teh year and when it got to Baba gateman's turn he prayed: ''May God let Offa(our hometown) develop. May God let the government divide Nigeria's budget into two and give half to Offa. If other towns say they don't want the rest, then let the government give the whole thing to Offa.Amen'' Daddy just looked at him and said ''Baba, ejoowo otito(Baba, pls stop the nonsense)''. The old, illiterate man definitely didn't know what a budget was. He just used to hear budget is about sharing money. Can Becomrrich tell me when tribe started forming a basis fo budget allocation? When the old man prayed that 50% of Nigeria's budget should be allocated to our town, we understood that the man was unschooled, and only said that out of his love for his town. We only laughed it off. But hwo can we explain 'Electricity Engineer' Becomrich's clamour on ''budget allocation to Yoruba'' This is teh extent to which ethnic bigotry can take one to. |
Few months after orderlies of a senior Naval officer stripped a lady in Muri Okunlola street, VI, two soldiers once again let loose their madness, beating to pulp a civilian, who later died from injuries sustained: http://www.punchontheweb.com/Articl.aspx?theartic=Art20090131391296 The question is: Does that uniform sow madness in our military men? |
Again, LAGOS is the largest and best known city in Africa. . . . Is Lagos more known than Jo'burg? |
I saw this coming. Seun had earlier hinted somewhere that he would lock the thread. |
MrCrackles:Na Okocha invite am |
I expect the moderator to have understood what was happening and created a new thread for the Igbos but she doesn't seem to have that kind of initiative.Openly yabbing your moderator ![]() |
MrCrackles:Crackles, omo London ![]() But I know the same won't happen next week insha Allah. Prepare. make up your mind. Set out early. |
Jumaat was fine, except that I got there quite late. I met just the final part of the sermon and the Imam talked about the inevitability of death, specifically referring to the death of Yobe Governor. He also announced the death of a renowned Sufi ustaz, Alhaji Muhammad Awwal. PS: I met the Group MD of First Bank, Alhaji Sanusi, in jumu'ah this afternoon. Very humble man. |
Vescussi, Salam, Sure, I've known who are. Toyin's cousin. I remember very well when Toyin introduced you to me. That should be around 2002/2003. Nice meeting you here again. |
