Alhamdulilah, it's another Juma'at and I just came back. The Imam prayed for the country generally and Muslim ummah. Brash, Were u able to make it this week? ![]() |
Let's have the pictures |

NL Political party in infeasible. A political party is expected to be constituted by members, at least founding, that share similar views and aspirations. In NL, the views are not only diverse, but also extremely contrasting. Offtopic: This is my 1000th post |
Muza:That actually came to my while making that statement. Well, much has been said about the wife, especially how influential and overbearing she can be. But being overbearing does not automatically mean being corrupt. I can't conclude on the wife. |
The followers are as bad as the leaders |
A show of same indeed! |
You may accuse Yar'adua of inactiveness, inexperience, slowness, clueless, etc but one thing you cannot accuse him of is corruption and self-enrichment. The 'spartan' President is one that doesn't believe in accumulation and excessive materialism. |
If it's true, then that's very bad. But I need not remind you that this doesn't add or remove anything from Islam. A wrongdoing by a Muslim does not in anyway remove anything from Islam. |
She told me to type in "nairaland.com" cos she'd heard there're lots of job infos on the site. .ROTFLMAO ![]() |
Yaya Toure, Sulley Muntari, Taiwo unquestionably deserve it. The forward department may stir some debates with the exclusion of Zaki. But If I was in position to select the team I'll sacrifice a midfielder(Essien) to create a space for zaki i.e I'll pick 4-3-3. |

I would rather align with my family and my religion.
I thought I was the only in this group |
To strictly answer the thread starter's question, both of them (my tribe and my country) fall on the same scale in my priority but I'll close my eyes and choose my country first. |
Seun:How do you expect me to just mention the name of Nigerian players that made the line up, and say nothing about the whole team. |
asha 80:Who's dodging the question? But if you can't discern the answer from my post, then let me answer it in Yes/No format. NO. |
naijaking1:1, Under no circumstance will I kill my Muslim brother(whether he's Iraqi, American or Ghanaian) 2, Under no circumstance will I kill a Nigerian (Muslim or Christian) |
CAF releases list of Africa 11 in 2008 Keeper Idriss Carlos Kameni, Cameroon ), Defenders ( Gomoa Woel , Egypt ; Taye Taiwo , Nigeria ; John Mensah, Ghana , and Joseph Yobo, Nigeria .) Midfielders (Yaya Toure, Cote d’Ivoire; Aboutrika Mohamed, Egypt; Michael Essien, Ghana; Sulleyman Muntari, Ghana) Attackers (Samuel Eto’O Fils, Cameroon, and Adebayor Emmanuel, Togo). Not a bad list but Yobo should have been put as a striker. Scored a number of goals in the year(for and against his team). . . just joking! http://www.dailytrust.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=3980&Itemid=16 |
Set out now. Start trekking. Head to Niger, then to Morrocco. from Morrocco, swim to Spain. Before December, you will find yourself in Europe. |
Many people keep wondering like you. This Islam sef? With all these 'archaic' practices(archaic in the reasoning of those that worship western mentality), why is this religion still existing. etc. The reason is simple: The truth can never die. Islam is indeed interesting. It is a religion built on faith. Imagine, having to wake up, compulsorily, at the early part of morning for prayers. Imagine having to leave whatever you are doing for prayers five times a day, for your whole life. This is surely based on conviction and certainty that the reward that awaits you in the eternal life for being patient. So my 'brother' we find this religion interesting because we are certain that paradise is our home if we die in it!!! |
Sky Blue:Not a contracdiction, baby. Sharia is highly misunderstood, and pitiably, now politicised. If the case involves non-Muslims, it becomes optional, that is, both parties must agree that the law should be applied, otherwise it is not applicable. |
To say he is muslim/christian first is funny. I mean your religion is a private issue is it not?? But i guess he/she has their reasons,It is not funny. It is a fact that is very common, but many people are not bold enough to say it out. The fact is that the first thing that comes to many people's mind in any thing is religious affiliation. Using it to cause injustice or to deny people of different views some right is what is not good. For example, I will support Sharia because I'm a Muslim but I will not deny a more competent Christian job because he's competing with a less qualified Muslim, because that will be injustice to the Christian. You see where sentiments come to play. ENZIGA, You are another quality addition to NL. Welcome to NL politics section. I see you carving a niche for yourself on NL politics section. Welcome on board. |
Omo Kwara, this has nothing to do with tribes now.
I was talking about sentiments generally, just highlighted different shades of sentiments - religious, national, tribal, and regional/social/educational affiliations. |
I'm a Muslim first, then a Nigerian, then a Yoruba, then an Offan, then a Kwaran, then a northerner. That's the order in which I prioritize my affiliation. . . . The fact is that, consciously or unconsciously, our actions are at times guided by some sentiments. For example, If Everton(with Nigerian players) play Wigan (with no Nigerian player), it is almost natural for a Nigerian with Nigeria at heart to support, or at least show some sympathy with Everton. |
I think Fashola has this. PS: Bukola Saraki is the most influential and most powerful governor. |
Other similarities: -Like Nigeria, religious e-war is common on NL -Like Nigeria, everything degenerates into tribalism -Like Nigeria, there are 419ers here(spammers) -Like Nigeria, some people continue to fall for 419 despite being apparent -Like Nigeria, everybody is a coach(sports section) -Like Nigerians, you can't stop laughing at some people's comments - humour-filled |
Not a bad analysis from Nuzo. I agree with the group I'm classified. Jus na jeje me I dey go. . .just to post and commot. . . but if u throw the offensive on my religion,I respond appropriately. |
The red card was obviously an error. |
