Return of Funmi: Latest username: St. Funmi 146 posts per day. . . .can you beat that? NL record!!! https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria?action=profile;u=297193 |
The film, to me, is overhyped. I was forced to collect the CD from a colleague in office who was always jokingly quoting those Jenifa statements. I watched it and it was truly hilarious, but I have watched other films that are even more hilarious but did not get that hype(e.g Bird Flu). Furthermore, I see no creativity in that film to warrant such hype. Everyone knows already that anybody that has lived in the village all his life has tendency to misbehave on first visit to city. As regards that 'conc' 'ilu-oke' intonation, I know many people that speak 'Lagos', yet can also speak 'Ilu-oke' fluently. No disrespect for the lady though. By the way, why is this topic just being brought to the front page? It should have been a front page material when the hype was loudest( Nov/Dec alst year). |
Coming from Jimoh Ibrahim, I'm not surprised. Here is a man that employs 10 people and publish in papers, busy challenging Dangote, Otedola instead of facing his business, saying 'if they want to sell Ekiti state, he can issue the cheque', bragging around about being Harvard-trained(Dangote, Otedoal did not go to Harvard) etc. |
Today was not that eventful for me. I was in our Ikeja(Airport) office in the morning to inspect four of the cars we want to dispose that are packed there. I'm meant to be in Kaduna too to inspect those parked in our Kaduna plant, but I will rather call the Accountant or Engineer over there to do the inspection for me and send the report. |
temi 4 rea:I just came back. Yes, I have seen the picture of the Governors' Governor. |
No doubt trouble maker *osisi is popular in NL, but she is not even in Top 10 popular Nairalanders. Funmi Deepzone was not around for 72 hours and the whole of NL started a thread asking for her.I personally rarely reckon with osisi posts, if at all I read them. Deepzone,MrCrackles, and even Davidylan are by far more popular on NL than *osisi. |
Muza:No, Funmi is not Xavier. I know both of them. This *comfort portrays xtics of DZ, especially with her copy and paste news style. |
ElRazur:The number of fools on NL has swollen by one. |
Funmi kan, Nairaland kan |
abes:Don't be surpised if your students begin to murmur while you tell ur story. Chidren of nowadays can hardly believe that. |
If you are to hear or read about an ahadith or sunnah that disagrees with the Qur'aan, it is definitely fabricated and can never be authentic. Islam comes to elevate the humanity of human beings. If you are to read or hear any ahadith or sunnnah that debases humanity as it will definitely not elevate him over all creations, in conscience, deeds, thoughts and value system, etc, then, could this be anything but a lie? Says it all. In addition, scholars have worked so hard in exposing the fabricated ahadeeth. |
The subject 'Destiny' is one area that is quite complicated that even scholars are usually extra careful when discussing it due to the possiblity of being misinterpreted. To believe in destiny is wajib(mandatory) in Islam, and it is one of the articles of faith. While discussing destiny, people are quick to point at result only, forgetting the process. Meanwhile both the process and the result have been destined. For example, some people will say whether they read or not, if God destines they will pass, they will. Here passing is the result and working hard is the process. A child that fails because he did not work hard has had 'not working hard' and 'failing' destined for him. Ditto for other process-result combinations (e.g not working hard-failing, not working hard-passing, working hard-failing etc). The mindset of a Muslim is to always strive hard for that which will benefit him. Normally, the results correspond to input e.g you will pass if you work hard, but at times Allah (SWT) tries us by making result not seemingly following input. We are to remain patient and continue to strive for what is best for us because 'what will miss one will not hit one, what will hit one will not miss one'. I personally strive for that which is best for me and pray and then whatever result I get, I belive that is Allah's decree for me, and He knows best! |

Lagosboy:-HotFunmi -OsunAmazon -Deepzone -RedHotChic -Pepperspray -Earthmama and now *comfort? |
You beat me to this. I had also wanted to ask about Funmi's unusual absence in NL for 72 hours. Her latest username, earthmama, was last active February 10. Some people are insinuating she's behind the *COMFORT veil. |
23 goals and still counting. . . .can Eto'o stop scoring? Where are those that said, in 2005/2006, that Eto'o shone because he had Ronnie and Deco supplying the passes to him? |
MrCrackles:Don't mind me jare, my brother!!! ![]() |
tkb417:There is one Toyota Avensis, one Honda Accord(End-of-Discussion), the 17 others are Honda Civics(2004). The disposal process is still in the pipeline and we are trying to finalize some things(fixing reserve price for them etc) before declaring open the bid next week. It will be very competitive and a lot of high power lobbying from the top will definitely occur. I'm the most junior member of the committee(others are mgt staff) and I can't guarantee any 'engineering' to make anybody win it. |
MrCrackles:I don't even need the money. ![]() @tkb I cannot bid. I'm the Secretary of the Asset Disposal Committee and therefore ineligible. There is conflict of interest. I have privilege information. I cannot be a player and the umpire. If I'm to bid I'll have have to declare this conflict of interest and excuse myself from the process, while it lasts. But I won't do that! |
jericho:We are disposing about 19 Honda Civics used by our BMs before being replaced late last year by new set of 2008 Honda Accord. But it is not open to Non-staff of the company. |
I was at a dinner last night at some fancy spinning restaurant wey dem dey call Xalet de Montjuic or something like that. No be naija e dey oo, before una start to find am for google earth ![]() Please let Ajanlekoko the faffer be. He will be a good side attraction to this thread. After all, even in serious retreats, comedians are invited to add some humour. I'm enjoying his fiction. He is our Baba Suwe here. The name itself(Ajanlekoko - dog dey pursue wolf) is funny. Let teh discussion continue, while the comedian continue to entertain us ![]() |
e be like say we Yoruba be minority here. No Yoruba lsited in topic. My Governor's(Kwara) picture not posted. |
I'm indifferent. Anyone goes. |
Gayigaskia:Win what, pls? |
When I also read our ''faffer's'' post, I knew another arrogant bragger had strayed here. His assertions were incoherent. Managers and supervisors reporting to him? Calling meetings just to hear grammar? Flying business and first classes? But in order not to be confrontational, I just teased him up as a 'big boy'. We are not saying this is not impossible. In fact it will be nice having a top mgt staff(as his assertions presented him) with us in this discussion, but it is easy to see LIE and EXAGGERATION written all over his post. TKB has offered the right advice - the organization needs restructuring, if its ever exists. But oyb has already delivered the final straw, bursting his bubble! |
I was in primary/junior secondary school in Kwara while he reigned, but I remember the Lagos boy in our class telling us all sort of exaggerated stories about Shina Rambo. |
Existing“translations” serve to convey the basic message of the Qur’aan to those whoNo disagreement brother. What we are saying is summarized by that sentence. That is, even the English translation can still pass an idea of the basic message. And that basic message is moving enough to make millions accept Islam by reading the translated version only. |

When the allegation came up, I thought it was another attempt by his jealous collaegues to smear the guy's name. He has now personally confirmed it, albeit trying to justify it. I'm not convinced with his defense. The guy disappoints me by accepting the gift. I wouldn't have had issues with it if were another person, but if Abati, whose writings I have been coming across for years, could accept a free gift of land from a government he sees as corrupt, then he's unprincipled. I'm sure if Abati had not been involved in this deal, he would have made it a subject of his column, characteristiaclly criticising it. |
Richy, good to know you are a Phd holder. |
Ajanlekoko the big boy, you're welcome!! Well, as regards office politics, of course, it goes on everywhere, but personally, I cannot reveal that in public forum. In fact, immediately I joined this thread, I had to remove my real picture from my profile and checked 'hide email' box. Yorubas will say 'ogiri l'eti'(The wall has ear). I only discuss things that affect me and my job only. I don't discuss other staff, except if I have to mention them(generally, not specifically, e.g one of the managers, my manager, a colleague etc etc) in the course of describing my activities in a day. Back to the subject, how was your weekend, all? Thursday and Friday last week were actually hectic for me, rushing to do many things on the company's Fixed Assets accounting records so as to get our position at the end of January. But I became a little relieved again after we closed January. My activities yesterday basically centred around disposal of some cars I'm coordinating, as the Secretary of the Asset Disposal Committee. We put up some cars for disposal and we were meant to analyse the bids yesterday. I called meeting of all members(I'm the only non-mgt staff member, juniormost member). We had it. Today, I'm trying to get more information on other cars we want to dispose, calling our Kaduna and Ikeja offices. I may need to be in Ikeja later today. |
