Assessments and Interview Completed.

Tips for the Interview: Be real, be genuine, be bold, be smart, Learn to quickly cover up any blunder you make, make eye contact always and try to smile as much as u can.... and yes, please get a very fast internet connection to avoid frustration.
It is important to get an idea of what Shell is looking for in terms of skills, and read up their vision and core values.
Also think up challenges faced and leadership positions held. In all, learn to back up your answers with an ideal story, tied back to how suited you are for the job. be passionate about what u say. Finally, have you heard about STAR?

For those yet to take the test, the numeric is mere basic arithmetic and percentage calculations that u dont need a calculator sef. of course you dont need a calculator for "45 x 0.5" do u?
For verbal, be confident as it is just cehap antonyms and synonyms... forexample i am sure everyone knows the opposite of essential right? if u dont, then dont even bother taking the test
The abstract is particularly interesting... i finished with almost 2 minutes to spare.

If after all these u still dont Ace the assessments, my dear you need to go for spiritual cleansing grin grin grin

GOODLUCK
What a wawu!! It's either u are superhuman to hv finished dose abstract questions under 2mins Or u had an easy set of questions.

I don't want to get myself involved, but I am just surprised that some people are still arguing. What is wrong is definitely wrong! I have no beef with anyone, whether I pass or not it's dependent on me and shell alone, but our Nigerian mentality is poor.

Let me explain why, for now I work as an Internet and Social Media user experience analyst with a firm that does projects with search engine firms (Google and co) and some other tech firms, and there is this position where vacancy was needed, I helped the firm advertise and all, and the thing with the exam is you will be given a material to use and prepare for the exam, to make this matter more interesting the exam is an open exam; meaning you can use the material why doing the exam, and time is more than enough; I mean hours for the exam (This exam will take me minutes). Now, 2 things to note:

1. Working for that firm, I have the marterial but I can't share it because it's against company policy, even before the exam date (when the firm will give them the material), some people were asking me for the material, meaning they wanted me to willingly annul contract terms (which they too read and agreed to before the commencement of their exams), and saw me as a bad person when I did not. (That says a lot about Nigerian integrity).

2. Some people called me during their exams, to help them answer some questions. (This does not make sense, because the exam questions are what you will be required to do on the job, does that mean after helping them cheat, I would also help them do their jobs? The firm outrightly sacks if your performance is not on par with what they need, so what's the use of cheating? Why not just do to the best of your abilities and leave the rest?)

What is wrong is wrong! Stop defending mediocrity and corruption! That's why we will never move forward in the country, we are very unethical!

This is not about being intelligent or claiming righteous, if you had a company of your own, won't you test people you want to employ? Would you happily employ people who cheated? People who broke your company rules and agreement?
Your analogy is faulty no offence. First of all, there is no cheating here cause no two questions are the same, save d question on ur interest to work with shell, which every serious applicant should know.

Nairaland is where most Nigerians share their experience, job and otherwise.

A simple google search for "shell graduate interviews" will give you links to glassdoor not nairaland, where you'd see d likely interview questions to expect at this stage - I'm talking questions from peeps who both got d offer and those who didn't. It is called "sharing your experience". I got d STAR approach to answering dia questions from there.

I hv observed d questions aren't dsame from d experiences of more than four(4) peeps who shared theirs. So what's d fuss about? Do you know many stand a chance to benefit from this insightful tips after now - sometime in d future?

Do you know peeps yet to do their online assessments (who many think hv an unfair advantage over those who hv done theirs) stand a chance of being REGRETTED when they eventually do, even if they perform well? - remember the first come first serve basis.

I don weak on top dis shell mata and na only 20ppl dem fit come take last last grin
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Shell Nigeria Graduate Recruitment 2017 by jayloms: 9:07am On Jun 07, 2017
shell graduate interview questions are on glassdoor - as shared anonymously by those who were both (Un)successful, and I am sure Nigerian youths hardly ever share their interview experience on glassdoor. So, it must have been shared by non-Nigerians.

Also, Nigerians can be very hypocritical, they criticize one thing and do the exact same thing when no eyes are on them.

It's not wrong to criticize, but if you must do, be honest about why you are giving the criticism, because for me, I know those bull crap written in d prev pages has nothing to do with ETHICS.

Especially as we are all still Nigerians! grin

U can access all of d three tests from d link sent to you. Refer to the message sent to you, inviting you for a cognitive test. In dat msg contains the link which would redirect u to d cubiks portal where u would take d test.

U can google cubiks intermediate cognitive test to have a feel of d questions.

Omoyennimie:
How were you able to access the numericals, verbal and abstract test?
Headlong grin

Just try stay calm, focus and be as fast as possible. Also, by all means use a strong, well tested connection and u would be fine.

Tips on d verbal were mostly

Analogies ex graphite is to pencil as -- is to pen. (ink)

Synonyms and Antonyms (**some questions would ask you for the synonym/antonym of a word which you are to pick from d available options

**Odd words in a group)

Simple Logical statements ex. All Nigerian girls are slay queens. Omo is a Nigerian girl.
If both statements are true, then omo is a slay queen.

That format. (repeatedly for d 24questions)
-------------------

Numerical
Please ans all the basic arithmetic questions(BODMAS) first, then arithmetic progression and then simple word problems.

Abstract Reasoning -- well pray for a third eye because this one na almost spiritual questions.

NB: U are to use this information wisely and develop ur own strategy.

One more thing- I am still awaiting result grin

You won't totally call people selfish,I for one have got a video for all the tests except the video interview which I also intend to record soon, however the whole video is about 29mins, how can i use my airtime or data to send a video that long to several people who need it out of my pocket,it would cost me and also consume my time. I decided to just keep quiet about it cuz i dont see myself asking u guys for money or airtime to give u the questions so u can practice and hv an idea. So to me its not about selfishness, however those close to me can contact me to meet me in person for the video "free of charge"...I would gladly share via Bluetooth...Below are screenshots of the vide...
Or u could drop ur hints here- Likely questions. smiley

Why is this thread appearing stagnant! Common guyz! leggo cool
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Shell Nigeria Graduate Recruitment 2017 by jayloms: 4:46pm On Jun 03, 2017
LaRochelle:
First things first, I want you people to understand and appreciate the fact that the recruitment of Shell is highly competitive. You're up against people who might actually be smarter than you, and have better qualifications and more experience than you. Since you understand that, let's move on to other matters.

Second: Once you see that there are a lot of questions to answer in a really constrained period of time, it is very much likely that the questions can never be difficult. They would most pro'lly be questions that students in secondary school know but because you're a graduate, they expect you to be faster than them in getting the answers. Don't whine to me; whine to the recruiters who believe so.

Thirdly, we all can't have the same set of questions. How did I come to this conclusion? You remember in the mail or so, they stated that if your internet connection goes off while taking the test, that you should reconnect and you'd be issued with fresh set of questions? Yeah, right. You also read that. That's a clue that we won't have the same questions. Plus, someone else mentioned that. That's double proof.

Fourth: It's not everytime that someone appears to be magnanimous that (s)he is really is. People came here claiming they had the questions to give out, and you honestly believed it would be for free. I'm sorry if I sound a little obnoxious but that's very naïve of you. Almost everything in Nigeria is business, my dears. So, please don't blame them. (I'm not affiliated to any one of them; don't think I'm trying to side them).

In conclusion, we all should be oiling our brains well. You can't enter Shell except you have connections or you're really smart. Aptitude tests are the cheapest part of interviews 'cause they are objective. Other processes are highly subjective.
This is the undiluted truth!
