Democracy is really beautiful. More so, if you live in the south, east or west, you will be wondering if the Northerners are really in Nigerian. Please what is really happening in the North? |
oduastates: What is mediocre about feeding 400,000 kids at school on a daily basis? It is mediocre if the teachers are not well paid and are not well motivated to teach well. School is not feeding or hand out home but a learning environment. |
oduastates: You can tell a non yoruba by their comments. Is the girl a student of one of the schools at Osun? |
ComrEmmanuel: More than two weeks after the governorship election in Ekiti State, the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the South-West, says it has finally revealed ways through which the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, allegedly rigged the election.Am confused here, how do you know a party member who is just coming out of his house? |
After the last Nigerian port job test that claimed the lives of a few Nigerians, I have come to the conclusion that the largest part of the population of those claiming to be looking for job in Nigeria are only looking for a pay check. On that faithful day I came out to visit a friend and what I saw was a spectacle. A carnival of Nigerians in while top and short everywhere. But while the traffic that morning made me check if really I was still in Abia state or in the old Oshodi as one musician putted it, "at oshodi man dey jam man". But behold a lot of cars of different classes were parked on both side of the road. On a little inquiry, I discovered that the car owners are those looking for job. What! how did they came to own a car without money, no without jobs. From my investigation, I discovered that many of they have jobs in one private company or state firm. Then what are they doing here painting the street white in the name of seeking for a job? The answer is not far fetched. They are not looking for a job but a pay check. If you are looking for a job it is easy to get a job and not just a job but a job of your dream. What I can't guarantee you is a pay check of your dream but certainly you will be paid for every laborer is worthy of his wages. |
Clefcentfelix: Intelligence all the way, when he's to choose those folks, there are usually many options, an intelligent leader will choose the best out of those recommended. See the case of obasanjo and Dora Akunyili during the revival of NafdacWe celebrate people whose time has come and gone. I agree with your pointing out the case of Obasanjo. But let me tell you that Obasanjo will perform poorly on a debate platform and from the discussing he is not termed as intelligent. Many call JEG clueless but some of his team has stunned the world with their performance, though a few has not lived up to expectation. |
onegig: Not everyone is interested in pay. But the ridiculous amounts being offered to "skilled workers"in this field is making them withdraw from working under someone. You can't discard this fact. If you get one, they are just using that to pass time until they get their acts right. Why would i work when i can hustle and get times 3 the amount i am being offered and still have my freedom?Your welcome, I believe acquiring experience is better than any pay that can be giving for any job. The experience one get in a particular job may open up a door for a better pay. Honestly I dislike people being idle. |
The young man was ushered into a very neat and spacious office, during lunch he was offered a delicious meal. According to him, that meal was the best meal the was having inn many months. To the glory of God he has taken that day meal. At the close of the day he was told the manager want to see him. He came out of the office, behold everywhere was road. He didn't know which route to take. Unaware to him, the manager was watching him from his office. The manager sent someone to direct him. When he came up, the manager asked him if he had done any marketing job before? He replied no. He ask him to resume work tomorrow that someone will take him to the field. He told me he was the first person to come to work and the gate was locked. He started hitting the gate, so they can open for him. The gateman came out and asked him what was the problem. He said he was confused and had to asked if the was no work today? The gateman burst out with laughter, after laughing he told him to calm down and continue are you the only one going to work here. By then others have started arriving and they also added, "leave am jor, over sabi dey worry am". The guy said, he was not interested in what they were saying but in proving he has some thing to offer. As of this time no one has talked about salary or any form of payment. But what kept him pushing on was that, "no matter how bad the pay will be, it must be better that his last payment when equated with the quality of job he will put in". He was assigned to someone and a driver to go and market the biscuit. Within three hours there were through selling a lorry load of biscuit. He said, while the other guy an undergraduate then was carry one or two cartoons of biscuit, he was carrying four to five cartoons. The driver and his partner decline returning to office saying it is too early to return to office. To keep him engage to something, they took him out and bought him food and drinks. Despite the time they wasted, they still returned first and with all goods sold off. The management was so surprise that the asked his partner what happened. He say na God. This continued till for a few days till his partner returned to school. He went along with the driver and in less than three hours they were back. When the manager looked out of his window and saw their lorry, he asked while the young man did not go to the field today. They told him he has finished and has return. The manager said its impossible. He asked about the money from the goods, he was told every amount has been remitted. He asked, "who did the young man went with", they said he went alone. He repeated the same result the next day and the third day he was sent to a part of Lagos where the company biscuit has never sold up to 10 cartoons. He told me when he landed there, he knew he was in a barren land. No shop, nothing. He told the driver to pack and when on a survey. After his survey, he went to a woman who has a little kiosk and told her what he was marketing. The woman ordered for 2 cartoon. He asked the woman how much she makes here. She was both surprised and embarrassed. He told her, he want to make her rich. The woman then sat up and asked how. He told the woman to follow him. The woman and himself took 20 cartoons of the biscuit to one of the schools there. He opened it and within a few minute he sold the entire 20 cartoons. He then told the woman to take over. In less than five hours there were back at the office with an order of 250 cartoons from the woman for tomorrow. The management of the company was so shocked that they offered him a position to teach others his marketing strategy. When others return and saw he has received a new assignment, they were so shocked that one of them a graduate will always come to this window and be singing, "me I no send you o". One of those days the manager came to his office to discuss some thing with him and hear the young woman singing her song and gave her a sack letter immediately. The manager asked him why he had not reported the girl to him since, he replied,"he is not aware of someone was there". After a few months, he resigned to start out on his own. When he tender his resignation letter, the manager asked him if there was any problem. He said no, but was starting of on his own now. He man asked him to always come around if he has a problem. This is the kind of people that every employer is looking out for. With or without certificate, they head their team. Till I heard this story, I never believe this kind of thing do happen in Nigeria. |
Clefcentfelix: So how will an unintelligent person know all these? Intelligence is not necessarily brilliance, don't mix them upThere is no unintelligent person per say. Now do you know that a President or Governor must work with people from regions and places that are not his. How do he get to pick the right people? Many will say intelligence, but no, he choose his team by recommendation. In most cases his team are clueless about their jobs like new graduates who just secured jobs. With the basic knowledge in the places they have worked before their appointment, they will easily adjust, but will only deliver if the leader want them to. Now this is where commitment and dedication comes in since he will not be monitory all his appointees because he himself still has a job of his own to do. In most cases the success of a leader is in the hands of his team. |
Clefcentfelix: Trust me, it takes intelligence to indulge in teamworkIt doesn't take intelligence bros, it is commitment and dedication among a few lesser qualities that makes a good leader. Take a little tour of the biography of people whom you attest to their contribution in the leadership world and you will understand what I mean. Intelligence is an academic assessment, it has little or nothing in real life. |
Am repeating a story a cousin of mine told me. He told me when things were rough with him; no job, no money, nothing to rely on. He was always at home doing nothing. One day he heard his pastor say. God doesn't bless people, He blesses the works of their hands. He decided that day to get his hand constructively engaged, but he had an obstacle: no certificate. In the morning presiding the day he made this decision, it came to his mind that serving a house builder is a job and will put 1000 Naira into his pocket before he retires to bed. So he went out and got himself engaged as a masonry servant, at the end of that day he was given 1000 Naira. This was 5 years ago. The next day he went out again to work there but he said as he was working something told him to go outside the gate, he tried resisting it. The impression was so much that he had to go out and as he stepped out he saw a friend of his who asked him what he was doing dressed the way he was dressed, he informed him what he was doing. The friend in turn informed him about a job in a biscuit company but told him he was going to pick up a recommendation from someone before going. My cousin asked him why he was trekking, he replied he had no money on him. My cousin asked him to wait for him to change so both of them will go together and pledge to assist with transport fare which is from yesterday pay. When they got to the place, the whole place was filled with job seekers with files but this young man had nothing on him. When they were asking to submit there application letters, this young man borrowed a pencil and wrote one at the venue and submitted. On seeing his application letter the manager asked, "who is the person that wrote his application with a pencil". The crowd of job seekers resounded with laughter as the young man raised his hands. The manager continued, "are you so poor that you can not buy a common pen?", he replied, no sir I heard about this job less than 1hr ago so I couldn't prepare a good application as I am coming directly from a personal development center. The manager asked his workers to show him his office and echoed, "this is the kind of people we are looking for". ........ to be continued. |
onegig: Abeg. I understand your plight but not all these Computer operator jobs you see around.Pay is not always the issue. Here we pay the office cleaner 17, 000 naira per month, though she run some errand at the office and she doesn't work on Saturday. The question is do you know your job well. If an employee comes to me and the first question he or she ask is "how much do you pay or what is the pay package like" I will not employ you. |
himkers: Are U in Nigeria?Yes, as I traveled from Abia state to Lagos, we never met any bad road. Hope you know the distance involved. |
Clefcentfelix: A man's speech is directly proportional to his intelligence, yes we need leaders! But intelligent ones! #WeWantDebateIntelligent doesn't make a good leader either, teamwork does. |
naijahot: Olu Chukwuma....Mech. EngWhat is the criteria for judging this 'hot' guys? if na handsomeness, chai bell don finish. |
Eldavido1: D'banj pictured below with arguably the richest men in the world,What is the difference between this picture and those of all this small small girls littering pictures of them with celebrities they took in an event on BBM? |
theshadyexpress: JULY 3, 2014 BY OKECHUKWU NNODIM, ABUJAMost of the people disputing this statistics believe that Nigeria start and end in their little locality. From mine assessment of the journey I took from east to Lagos, I believe the federal government is right. That your little locality has not benefited doesn't mean others has not benefited. 71% IS NOT 100%, the train will soon reach your location - JEG IS WORKING (TEAMFRESHAIR) |
himkers: Lies from pit of hellhow do you prove is a lie? |
Biliamin: It was announced this evening that Senate has rejected a proposal by INEC to make presidential debates mandatory during electionsDebate doesn't make a good leader, it makes a good orator. We need leaders not orators. |
DikSin: Now listen up "people-of-God", before you'll crucify me for using "it" for the big "G". I read somewhere in the Bible that: "I AM NOT A MAN that I should lie"; so what I call him don't matter in this context.Your not a Christian who has discovered the ways of God. |
NewNigeriaMind: You dimwit read the post again.Yes, l saw a blog you got it from. But your subsequent post was an affirmation like one who has a first hand information on the post. |
NewNigeriaMind: This is the federal road that leads to the port that generates billions of Naira on a yearly basis. This is the road to Apapa Road from Coconut Bus-stop through Tincan Island. It swallows trailer tyres and even causes containers to fall. Motorists say a journey that shouldn't take up to 5 minutes sometimes takes up to one hour. And this road has been like this for years. See more photos after the cut...When you post a road, drop us an address to verify please. |
From your story, Nigerian efficiency is improving drastically. |
Abagworo: . Okorocha asked them to leave him. I wrote it earlier on the other thread that some Governors could have let their orderly shoot Charlie boy but Okorocha chose not to harm him and I'm pleased with that. If our politicians can be this humble, peace will reign.lol, we are in democracy my dear. Charlie boy is no small person mind you. Only nobodies are shot like that in today Nigeria. |
This nation love making history |
For more than two weeks an advert we placed for a good computer operator has received little interest. The unfortunate part is that the few who has responded has not knowledge of neither Microsoft word or Corel draw. To make matter worst, they come with certificates that certifies them good computer operators. Today's jobs are not for certificate holders (CV), but for problem solvers. Get skilled: be the best in your field. Your time is coming. |
Mr. Friday Nwosu, a chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party in Abia State in an interveiw stated that critics are unfair the governor. How through is he? http://joeikeme..com/2013/12/critics-are-unfair-to-gov-orji-of-abia.html |
Xmas is spent with friends and families catching up with old time, but the best of Xmas is spent when shared with the most unlikely people. Share love with that neighbor you hardly talk, that stubborn kid you this like, remember the beggar in the street, the sick, those in prison, etc if your buoyant enough. HAPPY XMAS TO YOU |
