Isale, Do you salsa too?? Abi you just prefer to komole? ![]() BTW, Jenifa, your NL persona reminds me of another NL handle, but since you seem so secretive(very cautious about your identity). I can relate, so I'll respect that and keep it to myself. . Edit: word choice clarification
that's funny because I don't consider myself to be all that secretive. although I certainly won't be posting my personal pics, date of birth and social security up and down a public forum. I think that should be common sense. why are people so curious about me anyway. Fstranger's obsession was the weirdest to deal with. |
yea keep grasping at straws with comments like "The governor said "we". Meaning the state." lol ^ we voted fashola to represent the state. so of course he's going to say "we" besides that link has nothing to do with Dike's 7 million "donation" keep grasping at straws ok? you've already been provided the links that show clearly that dike's money came from fashola himself and his political friends. nothing to do with a ministry of health program AT ALL (unless you provide concrete prove for which I will certainly commend you. but I doubt you even know what you are talking about talk less of knowing what the state agenda is when it is clearly apparent!!) |
^ keep grasping at straws What about the other 300 people that didn't participate in any health work?me and you both already came to a conclusion that fashola didn't spend 7 million each on these 300 individuals. unless you want to provide proof for us that he did. Dike obviously got wayyyyy more of a preferential treatment. do you agree or not? |
hhaha I see. yes better log off and go and pass that exam with flying colors |
Kobojunkie:I want to know too. also, how were the 300 flown abroad selected? was the state working with specific NGOs those patients were affiliated with? |
how can you spend money studying for exams. why are you mugu-ing the poor guy? |
Divulging the good news to us recently was Segun Arinze, the current national president, AGN, who is equally spearheading a fund raising team for Dike. He disclosed that Fashola promised to assist Dike during an SOS call with some members to his Alausa, Ikeja, office. Arinze, on behalf of AGN, equally thanked the governor for assisting to raise part of the N10 million needed for the kidney transplant. Aside Fashola's assistance, Arinze and his team recently embarked on a fund raising drive, starting from their members and some well-meaning Nigerians. And the result, according to him, had been fruitful and encouraging. In fact, Fashola may have sponsored this with his pocket money and appealing to other politicians etc. I'm not sure about this but I hope so. I hope it wasn't tax payers money that was used. and clearly, fashola did it for a favor. like I said, he was lobbied. |
Eko Ile:Here is more news to support my assertion: --- This is definitely cheering news, especially to movie buffs, colleagues and friends of Prince Ifeanyi Dike, the consummate actor, TV presenter and current chairman, Board of Trustees of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), who has been down with a kidney failure. Information reaching us has it that the amiable and hardworking governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN), has agreed to lend a helping hand to Dike's through some financial lifeline. “I'm using this medium to call on other kindhearted Nigerians to donate generously towards saving the life of Dike, who has done so much for the growth of Nollywood and African entertainment. Our aim is to raise the N10 million on time, so that he can go for the transplant before more damage is done to his body, we are very optimistic that more Nigerians will come to our aid over this unfortunate issue. We thank and are very grateful to governor Fashola for leading by example.” In a related development, foremost filmmaker and creator of Nite of a Thousand Laughs, Opa Williams, who was touched by Dike's ailment, said he would be organizing a fund raising walk for him soon. He stated that the aim of the celebrity walk for Dike would be to raise funds and create awareness that would help sustain the fight against kidney failures in the society. “Sincerely, nothing is too big for us to do to help save the life of Ifeanyi Dike now. All hands must be on deck to help him stay alive by raising the needed funds for his transplant, because it could happen to anybody. Dike is one of our own and he must not be left alone to carry this heavy cross. We will soon make public the date for this walk.” In the moving words of the Arondizuogu, Imo State-born presenter of defunct Igbo Kwenu and several others on TV, the ailment, which was diagnosed last year, was seriously affecting his physique, finance and psyche. Meanwhile, several of his colleagues and well wishers that spoke with us, said they had already started praying and fasting for a successful transplant, so that Dike can bounce back to his work in no distant time. http://www.thenigerianvoice.com/nvmovie/45031/3/fashola-nollywood-others-rally-round-ifeanyi-dike.html |
Eko Ile:lol. see how you contradict yourself. If you read the news sources, you will see that Fashola financed the treatment. maybe he did it through the ministry of health, I don't know. but HE did it. You are the one who need to use your common sense and figure out facts and realities here. besides he is the boss of all the ministers. which is why we credit him for the public transit system rather than commissioner for works etc. unless you are accusing the OP of providing false information. |
Eko Ile:resorting to personal insults aren't we? you sure are making yourself look really smart. besides, where are your facts to support all the ridiculous statements you've made so far? |
What do you really know that made you arrived at the fact that they are spending more money on him because he is a celebrity?I posted it before and will re-post it again: While commending Nollywood artistes who also participated in the Health Walk, for spreading positive messages in millions of homes through their films, Governor Fashola urged them to see it as an opportunity to work with the Ministry of Health to see the content of the kidney, hypertension and diabetes screening programme which the Government has committed to in the last three years. He called on the Nollywood artistes to consider producing what he called a docu-drama that would help in strengthening the advocacy on the need to exercise regularly, moderation in the kind of food people eat, saying such a production in English, Yoruba, Hausa and Pidgin would go a long way in sensitizing the people. While commending the NGO for the awareness rally, he challenged Nigerian artistes, including Prince Jide Kosoko, Antar Laniyan, Fathia Balogun and the popular comedian, Ali Baba, who participated in the rally, to write scripts on kidney transplant. “A docudrama will go a long way in boosting the kidney awareness that there is need for exercise, moderation in size, moderation in the kind of food that people eat. “Write the script in English, Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa and pidgin English. I assure you that as soon as we receive a script, the state government will provide the needed fund for the production of the film,” he said. The group had earlier embarked on an endurance trek from Allen Junction, Ikeja, to the Governor’s Office, to sensitize the public on the danger associated with renal failure. |
Do you know how much the kidney specialist billed the state and what kind of skills required for his kidney problems?I am sure you are not trying to tell me Ifeanyi Dike's condition was more critical than any of the 300 persons or even in the rest of lagos state for that matter. you can't fool anyone here. |
And you need to quit saying he because this is what the state is doing, not Fashola. This is a ministry of health program and Fashola is obviously not directly in charge of this program and I'm even 100% sure he's not cutting the checks. Let's start talking with common sense and a little knowledge about government.read the topic title. what does it say? ministry of health or Gov. Fashola? and besides, who is the boss of who? I think you are starting to confuse yourself. |
What's the matter, DK? Some people find this other woman enchanting too. Funny thing is, despite their polar opposite complexions, I can see a similarity in the previous girl and her - the same small face and features. For me, the Hausa girl is more beautiful, hands down. Are you one? You posted her picture. lol. Anyway, tell us a little bit about yourself, Jenifa. Are you a teacher in Alexandria, VA?
It's my profile afterall. I decide what I want to put on there. I think you already know enough. I mean what else would you want to know? you guys really know how to put two and two together really quickly that's for sure. lol what other artists do you like? |

^ yea i agree. it depends on how you read it |
interesting |
buzugee:ok. replace oyinbo with nigerians in diaspora. many don't return until retirement after decades and decades abroad. they only go to naija for holiday vacation. |
armyofone:rotflmao
The new pic; Thanks! I'll take the liquor, you can have the flower
and the strawberries and cherry? |
PhysicsMHD:lol. that means the rate might be lower then because i'm sure a few hundreds would have dropped out by the end of the school year in june 2008. the incarceation stats was for june 2008. no one is in school at this time. so the calculation was appropriate. school year is from sept 2007 to june 2008 |
it's beautiful only if you a means of escaping. If that's your permanent life, then no. it's not so beautiful ex oyinbos go to visit third world countries and appreciate the "simple, uncomplicated" life during vacations. but are they willing to stay there permanently? Nope and come any crisis, they will be the first to be evacuated by their government to safety. |
^ I agree. It's best to follow the ethics of the profession. If the ethics conflict with your moral obligations, quit working at the hospital start your own private practice. Just don't be surprised when you start getting sued left and right. If I were the husband of that lady for example, I would definitely sue for malpractice. how can a doctor lie to a patient and tell him that his sperm is functioning properly when in fact it's non-existent. ![]() just because he wants to be "moral" and not break a marriage. seriously when did doctors become marriage counselor. |
PhysicsMHD: According to the Bureau of Justice Statistics, as of June 30, 2008, there were 846,000 black inmates (more than the 838,100 black males who enrolled in College in Fall 2007) ![]() are you sure it's false? |
Also let's keep in mind that Hausa states don't have important mineral or natural resources. By important, I mean resources that are important to western world. ie cocoa, palm oil and now petroleum oil. So there wasn't much incentive to develop those states. like the southern nigeria when it was under colonial rule. although colonial govt did use the north as the seat of power because of their relatively organized structure (compared to yorubas and certainly compared to igbos lol) and also probably for health/climate reasons too maybe. ex. malaria and other reasons although this is a less significant part of it. but that doesn't mean that they invested in the region financially. |
It was stated that the Fashola is picking and choosing kidney patients to send abroad. That was a lie. The 300 and more kidney patients the state sent abroad are not all celebrities.so can you explain why he spent millions more on the celebrity? |
They are sending the patients to different countries based on their needs so obviously, it's not 7 million per patient and if you have any proof that it's 7 million per patient, let us see it or just quit following that line of thought. We want facts, not hearsay and assumptions.Any fool will recognize that fashola didn't spend 7 million each on 300 people. You were the one trying to say fashola did the same for 300 people and I was just pointing out to you that Ifeanyi dike received a lot of extra favors from Fashola. Lagos can't afford to do the same for 300 people talkless of the thousands of kidney disease sufferers in the state. The reason why fashola sponsored Dike (a high ranking official in nollywood) was because he wants to start using nollywood as a state tool for propaganda (I posted a link to support this assertion). I'm not saying anything is especially wrong with this. I'm just pointing it out. 2. The kidney folks pay taxes too and they are entitled to all government assistance.what about the thousands of folks who also paid taxes but are not receiving government assistance? thousands of people in more critical condition but no special privilege and access like Ifeanyi Dike, a high ranking nollywood official, has? Government services shouldn't be a lottery draw. that is ridiculous. everyone should have access and benefit for what they are paying taxes for. it shouldn't be for a "lucky" few or fashola's friends. maternity centers is open to ALL citizens. Anybody can go to give birth. flying patients oversees for kidney treatment however is open to only a select few. how are these few chosen? what process did fashola use to choose them? lottery draw? because if it's by income, Ifeanyi Dike should be at the bottom of the list not at the #1 spot. Unless fashola is doing it for a special purpose (see my comment about him wanting to use nollywood as a state tool). this is what i'm trying to understand but you are saying nothing illuminating about this. 7. As a governor, is it ok to say to a dying tax paying citizen that before I save your life, I have to seek permission from 18 million lagosians?there are MANY MANY dying tax paying citizens in Lagos. 7 million can save many lives in ways that as many tax payers as possible become beneficiaries. rather than just one man using all the money to himself. this is very efficient way to go about it. That's the thing about corruption. It is highly inefficient. But I guess that's how things work in Naija and many parts of the world and who knows how this will benefit Nigeria in the long run if nollywood does decide to start publicizing state health policies and agenda. 8. And here in the state, the government and other tax payers spends millions on other non tax paying or insurance having people everyday without your connects? Who do you think foot the bill when non insurance having folks crash emergency rooms? The ER is obligated by law to treat 1st and if at the end of the day the patient has no insurance, they pass it on to you without your so called consents. The government do a million and one things with your money without you consents. You really need to come up with sound and reasonable argument.obviously you do not know what I mean by consent. I totally support state programs. those are done with consent. what i'm talking about here is lobbying. look up the word if you don't understand it. what state program does this "let's fly a couple of people abroad" fall under? did people fill out an application form to receive treatment? how were beneficiaries selected? was the program open to all or a select few of people or organizations who personally lobbied Fashola etc how formal or informal was it etc. Like I mentioned earlier, you may work for Fahsola and have information on all this, but you are definitely not explaining things well here and that's giving me all the more reason to be suspicious even though it may have been a proper procedure after-all. |
SEFAGO:well i'm in the US. so I got mostly the US perspective of the slave trade. didn't learn much about British involvements but of course it all makes sense. duh jamaica I just never thought of it because of the way I was taught. when I think slave trade, I think southern US, cuba, brazil, haiti etc. I'm not thinking of st lucia, st. kitts or t&t or jamaica etc. but thanks for the lessons. lol |
deniyor:I agree. I don't think OP is a doctor either. the second story is so ridiculous it's not even funny. how can a doctor lie to a man because his wife told him to. did she bribe him to lie to her husband. there is nothing ethical or moral about that. and how does he even know about the family's personal stories. aren't doctors taught to keep their relation with their patients solely professional? how does he know his patients' family drama? |
so the slaves that were returned to sierra leone and liberia. did they come from britain? what parts of the Caribbean did the british control? |
ola olabiy:I need to do some reading on that I guess. what colonies did they import the slaves to? |
how significant was their involvement? I never really learned much about British involvement in the whole slave trade. |
