he's looking for his 15 min of fame. The event was open to the public, but fewer than 30 people attended.*chuckle* |
yea that's true. I think it's the after effect of long periods of millitary/authoritarian rule. we're still mentally used to it. democracy should involve active citizen participation. ok. let's not derail the topic |
depends. Your friend should have remained single because obviously, he doesn't seem matured enough for marriage. maturity doesn't necessarily correlate with age by the way. MRbrownJAY: According to you friend . .I've also witnessed so many case peculiar to this of yours but it seems the mistake comes from this :perfect answers. ak47mann:this one as well is obviously not matured enough for marriage. |
blink182:give yourself a round of applause for realizing it was a broad generalization. At least it caught your attention. Nigeria really need to change it's attitude about how we hold our leaders accountable. Politicians are corrupt and spend our money anyhow because WE LET THEM. |
efisher:Fill in the blank. PDP Chairman ____ State. that's my guess anyway blink182:could be imported. lol jk |
is that an orange in front of him or a microphone head? https://www.hostmypicture.com/images/govthouse.jpg |
There is no such thing as Yorubas having an Arabic origin. we just had a leader (oduduwa) who probably migrated from Arabia that's all. besides that, Yoruba are indigenous although there is some mixing with fulani and hausa and such as you go further up north. even the Fulani are supposedly also indigenous to Africa. |
RIP. life is indeed very short |
most nigerians don't have a problem with their tax money being spent foolishly. In fact, they will argue with you that tax payers money should be used on the frivolous and the elite. Imagine some posters who think it's ok for the governor to use tax payers money to send nollywood stars abroad for medical treatments while thousands of regular and poor people are suffering at home and paying taxes that end up going to the elite and the well connected in society. |
^ colonization is never positive. but of course your colonizers will always tell you that it's good for you. no Asian Tiger country will tell you today that colonization was a good experience for them. at least the smart individuals from those countries. Yea some overcome in the end etc but that doesn't mean colonization was justified/positive. it never is. |
hmm I think i'm no longer addicted to NL. |
^ wow what a testimony |
how do you know she will be hurt? I thought she found someone else and is cheating on you. isn't that what your topic is about? you're confusing me now. |
well then maybe you are still shocked. give yourself some time then you will figure out what to do about it. over time, you may start to view her differently or even fall out of love with her. give it a bit of time though. e.x start preparing yourself emotionally for a breakup if you don't plan to forgive her. |
when did you find this out? |
weather in love with somebody or not, interested in sombody or not. i its best u watch your own back when in a relationshipp than wasting your time watching your patners back. u become a burden to him/her yet u lose so mmuch energy for nothing
read the OP's comment again. he is not being clingy. he is complaining that his gf transformed after starting university. basically the relationship changed and they quarrel all the time. she also created a separate facebook account privately. obviously she is no longer into him and that's where his pain comes from. and I disagree with you about the same rule applying to "whether in love with somebody or not" different rules apply. if you are not in love with your partner, it is easy to not care about what they are doing. even if they are cheating on you you would not care. when you are in love, on the other hand, you care about a lot of things. that's my point. I agree that being clingy is bad. but OP is not being clingy if you read his post. just talking about the unwelcome changes in his r/s and how that is hurting him. the quarrels and her change in personality etc |
did you read the part where he said he didn't love her? common sense will tell us that it is impossible to cling to a girl you are not even interested in. yes clinging is bad. but OP is talking about heartbreak and how to handle it. it's not that he's clinging to her. naija_swag gave the best advice especially as a person who have had a similar experience. |
kodewrita:i'm sure there are some girls that are into video gamer my post was just my personal opinion. |
i would suspect that they are both a variation on the pan-african flag. |
I would assume that he is immature and jobless |
shut up and listen to what your senior is saying. you might be making sense in a way, but @jerros213 knows what he is talking and there is absolutely no need for you to attackk him
Jerros213 and you are the abusive ones here. age doesn't always translate to maturity obviously. Jerros213:i'm sure you've heard of the saying "quality over quantity" having 7 years of an empty loveless relationship is absolutely void compared to having just 3 months of a fulfilling one IMO. you maybe happy with your choice. but there are humans out there with hearts like OP. I don't think you are the best person to give him advice about emotional matters. |
what a foolish question. if you get hundreds of messages in ur inbox already, why go looking for more? |
most hilarious thread i've come across so far. wow this website has a host of characters |
definitely an handsome couple. pro01:u wish. |
Oso Sexy:the answer is YES. very high likelihood of marriage. you need marriage to get a green card. |
No offense but anyone with half a brain will see that this "racist stuff" isn't made up. What it sounded like you were satin is that it's a publicity stunt--that I could agree with. I'm quite sure she [Beyoncé] had purposely involved herself in certain situations just for the sake of publicity.
he didn't say they were made up. he said they are sometimes done to incite negative emotions rather than for a racist intention. ie a white person calling a black person "nigg*r" not because he is racist but because he knows he will touch a nerve by saying it. what is your opinion of Tyler Perry's Madea character? Why aren't too many blacks complaining about that? To me, that is what we should be complaining about because it creates negative stereotypes about blacks. |
almost 40 pages already. Isale gan u are trying o |
Let me inform u that the racist "black face" stage performances of the early 20th century in which whites would put on black face paint, paint their lips pink with a false gap in their teeth and put on "nappy wigs" making fun of blacks and living up to stereotypes (such as being the 'dumb character' who cheeses/grins all of the time while being the butt of all jokes. These 'stage negroes' would speak horrible English and eat watermelon) was directed to and made fun of black Americans. We blacks of the United States/Caribbean were targeted without Africans in mind as sorry to say Africans were not viewed as being 'part of the struggle' therefore not considered a target. Altho we are of African descent, our struggles were/are different from you all and 'black face' was directed towards us therefore it is us who should be angered at the act but the stereotypical 'African Queen' look I would agree is a bit much.
ok be angry then. ![]() I guess beyonce is targeting you for ridicule. how racist of her. |
Jenifa_, I wouldn't say they prefer to use dark skinned models more than light skinned models. Usually the designers who choose to us a lot of dark skinned models are just trying to make a statement gain a lot of attention for their shows--its not necessarily because they prefer the darker models. When I go to fashion week with my sister when she interviews designers , yes I do see some dark models but for the most part, dark skin is still seen as a negative thing. I will agree with you on one thing though, we as black people do perpetuate those about beauty. . .White people do have a role in it though. Initially during slavery [in the US], black people were always made to feel inferior about their features [by white people] and in turn we have internalized it. There were even laws in the us that forbid black people from showing their hair in public because white people felt that black hair was offensive. Those individuals who see people of mixed heritage and admire their beauty because of that do it because of those feelings they've internalized-- people who looked or possessed features that were close or similar to a white person were see as better because to them it seemed that they were closest to being white. Have you ever heard people say "Light and bright and damn near white"? The whole thin is just one sickening never ending cycle.
being dark skinned is seen as a negative thing more among blacks than among whites. many whites i've met find dark skin to be beautiful. totally opposite of what we blacks think about ourselves!! at least this is my experience anyway yes whites definitely had a role in the inferiorit complex that we have but we are the ones who have to step up to change it. |
