do us a favor, point the double talk. Then we can start talking.
I knew this was coming and I fear to engage will most likely be an exercise in futility but . . . anyways, lemme pick the most glaring -

I would like here to propose that the year 20II be proclaimed the year of
nuclear disarmament and 'Nuclear Energy for all, Nuclear Weapons for None'.
^like seriously? seriously Ahmadinejad? your own mouth is dripping with red oil and you're calling for your distant neighbors to wipe the speck on their teeth? but this is his excuse -

They have equated nuclear energy with the nuclear bomb, and have distanced
this energy from the reach of most of nations by establishing monopolies and
pressuring the IAEA. While at the same time, they have continued to
maintain, expand and upgrade their own nuclear arsenals.
Iran having a nuclear weapon in comparison to Britain or US or France or Germany is like giving an AK47 machine gun to a 5-yr old boy versus a 45 year old life-long trained marine marksman. Irresponsible trigger-happy dictatorship regimes that routinely commit grave crimes against even their own people are comparing themselves to democratic nations that are far far advanced. What is this world coming to?

Would anyone trust our own Nigeria with a nuclear weapon?

V3 good to see you back dude  smiley

The Usual Suspects. Its been a while since I saw this movie but I'll try. JK that review is golden, geez, you record am for brain? Anyways . . .

I saw the US same as SOTL, long after it had come out and garnered acclaim so I had high expectations going in. When a movie is gangsta enough that rappers are using the characters in their rhymes, you know its serious. The story is centered around a mysterious all-powerful gangsta boss whose face no one has seen but yet he's so revered that the mere invocation of his name causes even the most hardcore criminals to pee in their pants. Like JK mentioned the story is told mostly retrospectively with the climax in the present, concluding in a not altogether shocking revelation of the who Soze really is. The story is told very well and the characters are as convincing as one could hope.

My rating may suffer a bit cos I don't remember the movie too well but from the little I recall, on a scale of: Blown away - wow! - very impressed - just okay - blah - terrible - just shoot me, for me The Usual Suspects falls squarely between "wow!" and "very impressed". I rate 88.572419%.

I am not surprise with your response and level of honesty, as it is often said "Evil doers are helpers to one another", one should ask this jesusNL whether this is how Jesus A.S will behave if any case like this was brought to him? but obviously there are no grounds for comparison as One should ask jesusNL whether he at all read what Mudley wrote? I guess he did, and since Mudley being an atheist whose religion? (to jesusNL) has lots of common grounds with the religion jesusNL and Toba practice, Bias colored his eyes, and he decided to  supported his co-religionist to obtain his gods blessing as any who read what Mudley wrote will know that insulting peoples parents or asserting other people parents are dead is no good behavior at all and evidently deserves deletion, and like I have often hear the wise say only people who have no parents insult other peoples parents, , but jesusNL can't see that no all he can see is what Veda wrote and hence finds insulting people parents worthy of reading, pls change your name from jesus as u are making a mockery of the name. I leave you with a quote " Hypocrisy is a disease, that destroys truth and honesty in man".
Please VC, let Seyi and Nopuq's thread be. If you want to discuss with jesus, please open a seperate thread. I will have to delete any future off-topic posts.

Jesoul I threw no punches all I did was to "say", "some people are not worth answering", if he found that insulting then I wonder whether calling him an atheist is not enough insult?   now I mean no insults there, Jesoul but I will take heed to your warning. DO have a pleasant Moderation. grin
But you did call him daft or something first. Anyways sha, thank you for "taking heed" smiley.

Christianity EtcRe: Declaration Of Fasting And Praying For The 33 Miners Trapped In Chile! by JeSoul(f): 7:51pm On Oct 13, 2010
@Mudley,
No, I didn't reaspond to any "Erastus" thread because I don't see every thread and for the most part mods respond when a complaint is made. Ivynwa complained her thread was being derailed. Furthermore, you're not merely "dissenting" you are disrupting and derailing - 2 very different things. Mukina deleted some of your posts yesterday, I deleted more today - so this is all "christian bias"? If you believe you're being 'targeted' for speaking the 'truth' then all the best with that. That is all I have to say on the matter. Once again, forward any complaints you have to Manmustwac or Mukina.

Ivynwa/others, please continue with your thread.
Christianity EtcRe: Declaration Of Fasting And Praying For The 33 Miners Trapped In Chile! by JeSoul(f): 7:32pm On Oct 13, 2010
Mudley313:
Well, she posted the miners story in the "religion" section, which i don't think it should be in since the miners incident has not a thing to do with religion, and went on to attribute the whole rescue efforts and its success to her christian god, who was nowhere near the rescue scene for obvious reasons. If the "religion" section was the "christian" section maybe we would all follow her like blind sheeps and scream the jewish halleluyah and amen chants, in delusion that yahweh (who by the way has failed to prevent way more significant and bigger catastrophes like Nazi concentration camps, Rwanda massacre or Haiti earthquake) somehow had a hand in the rescue effort. But unfortunately, the religion section is comprised of both christians, muslims, atheist etc and there sure is bound to be disagreement if someone arrogantly attributes the success of the rescue work on their god.

Bottom line, since she decided to post this "news story" in the religion section, she should be prepared to "discuss" the relevance of religion or the christian god in this whole episode. This is supposed to be a discussion forum and i don't see how others asking questions on the relations between this incident and christianity can be termed derailment in a "discussion" forum

its exactly like that "pray for erasmus akingbola (or whatever)" thread. i didn't see you jump in that thread to castigate fellow nigerians/forumites airing their discerning opinions about nigerians seeking prayers for an obvious criminal--and that topic even had something to do with religion for he was a pastor(i guess)

i know ms christian mod is going to ignore this actual topic derailment when no muslim here attributed the successful rescue efforts to their own imaginary god allah or muslims? hmm
Long story. Look just stop derailing the thread. It is not by force to contribute to a thread - and its certainly not your call which threads/topics are considered "religion" worthy. A girl posted a simple thread asking people to pray. If you don't want to pray then for God's sake just move on and don't click on the thread. People - christians and others - are always complaining about you and your posts, yet you are certainly not the only atheist here.

If you have any other complaints, forward them to the "complaint thread" and leave Ivynwa's thread for her.

Nice reviews Obinna and Vesc. There's not a whole lot to add after all said from you both - but make I try . . .

I saw SOTL well after it had come out and received all that praise and acclaim, so I went into it with very high expectations that were fully met. The young agent prospect eager to prove herself, wins the 'heart' of a truly intelligent cannibal-serial-killer. Hannibal, if he'd chosen a legal line of work, would've probably picked up a few nobel prizes for his genius. The story was intricate and was delivered in perfect style - as much style as a serial killer movie can have. Anthony Hopkins' will forever be identified with the Hannibal Lecter - I'm not so sure if this is a good thing. lol. I had already seen quite a bit of Jodie Foster movies, I think she's fabulous so I was expecting nothing less than her intense self.

Overall, intriguing - scary-gross - movie. You will enjoy yourself while watching and be simultaneously freaked out that human beings can be this evil. My 'favorite' - or should I say most scary - part of the movie: At the end of the movie, Hannibal calls Jodie from somewhere in the Carribean after he's escaped. He says he's not going to kill her as the world is a much more interesting place with her in it. Then he says something to the effect of "I gotta go now, I'm having an old friend for dinner" - and then the camera zooms out and pans upwards, showing walking ahead of Hannibal, the Warden/Chief from the prison/institution he was kept at.  shocked shocked

I rate 93.5%  smiley first time I've used decimals I think.

Its so funny. I remember a while back when d media and pundits were going gaga about Palin posting a map of electoral districts she was targeting, identifying them with standard mapping cross-hairs. The entire media claimed it was incitement to violence and roundly condemned her, pretty much all the networks lambasted her. I wonder what they will say about some one actually shooting a gun at specific policy proposals. This surely must be incitement to start a new civil war. I await d condemnations.

MMW, I think Kunle means to delete it permanently from NL. In which case I will say Kunle I do not think that the admin would do that, as anyone who doesn't like a thread or anything said about them will readily request the thread be expunged from NL. I feel your pain but unfortunately I doubt Seun will delete it.

Likewise the thread " is joagbaje a crook"
And in all honesty, my mind went straight to the "Is Joagbaje a crook" thread when I saw Kunle's request. If your thread is sent to the recycle bin, then his also deserves to be canned as well - and anyone else who's name is opened on a thread that they don't like.
