Always love reading your replies
and likewise my brother, likewise! I get the general gist of your position (over multiple threads) that no one side (right or left) has a monopoly on bad behaviour - all politicians lie, all media outlets spin, etcetera etcetera. I agree! Mostly true! Its scary really. I recall one time a talk radio station had this sound-bite from Eric holder I think, saying "america has always been a nation of cowards" and it cut off right there, and the host went on and on about how terrible a statement that was and all the heroes that gave their lives etc etc I smelt a rat. When i got home I heard the full quote "america has always been a nation of cowards when it comes to issues of racism". Now just that little bit that was conveniently cut off from the soundbite changes the entire thing. Likewise I was watching the Ed show last week on msnbc, he showed a 5-sec soundbite on a republican congressman (I forget his name now), using it as 'proof' republicans only want to help the rich. But when listening to the quote in its entirety, the congressman was simply saying we have to help the rich who provide small businesses that employ the poor. Nothing wrong with that. I mean with such spin prevailing on the airwaves, paraded as facts and 'analysis', one has to be afraid. Who will tell us the truth? Butlol. I think they've done right about equal damage. A lot of it is really a matter of perception on our part, and unfortunately, perception is severely subject to flaws. |
^^Lol. Bad v3. I wonder though . . . what does Seun's word filter translate to "unmentionable"? Let the record show that I meant unmentionable as-is, as there is no sufficient term for level of jazz I operate on not what 'umentionable' is translated from on NL . . . see what word-filters are causing lol |
^^kai! mugu of the highest order for real. In 10 yrs when his knees are shot and acls ripped beyond repair and he's spent his last dime on strip clubs, they'll come crying they're broke. Bawo, Giants will be looking for blood oh the poor way they have started off the year. |
ehen they have started again. Espn is currently stationed on some air-force base in florida where the Miami Heat are having their preseason. They will be giving us up-to-the-minute updates on when their new signees have picked a nickname for themselves and other updates such as which butt-cheek Lebron scratched last, how long Wade's last sneeze was, how big the boogey was that Bosh picked from his nose etc. . . if this is a sign of things to come, we are going to be suffocated to death with all things Heat in the coming days. |
Strictly speaking, not totally accurate. Dude only won 53% of the popular vote, which means 47% of the country voted against him.
You make it sound so negative '47% did not vote for him', there, that's better ![]() That country has been polarised beyond repair.I hope you're wrong in the long run, though better judgement tells me otherwise. The racist, silly and irrational folk have always been there - a subset of the 47%Lol. one thing's for sure, the percentage of loonies on the right is no greater than on the left - and you can take that to any bank mr (any bank not already receving bailout funds that is). |
Abeg oh, make una no switch to Naruto-speak. I don't do anime. My lil brother gave me one Naruto game for my xbox, watched a few clips in it, that's how I know a lil bit here and there. But I no say if we combine all your jazz, it will only be a drop in my 10-gallon bucket of unmentionable. If you don't know, you berra ask somebody ![]() |
Dave racism will always be there but I'm not about to discuss it bc racism was there when he won the election in a landslide.
Please let someone shout this from the rooftops and declare it in every valley. Prez, may God bless you The same america that voted him into power, is now suddenly racist The same america that chose him is now suddenly "stupid and irrational" all because they happen to disagree with him on many issues. Na wa oh, na so we see dey am these days ![]() Something happened why even democrats are avoiding him in this campaign. These guys abandoned their base. Republicans don't abandon thier base. Except george h w bush. Obama and co abandoned thier base, and now instead of gently rallying an annoyed base, we hear stop whining, buck up, shake up the lethargy etc. This is why he is low in the polls. We still like him, but we are pissed off, especially when we see how republicans fight for their base. Instead we fight for our politicians. Who will go knocking door to door for these kind of spineless democrats. I'll rather have them all out, then we can replace them at next election with a new breed of democrats, especially when Americans have seen the tea boys in action for 2 yrs and will want another change. And by then I'll be in Virginia knocking on doors.Such honesty, infact I am so stunned I'm not going to comment ![]() |
What conclusion did I arrive at? Pls quote me properly. I never said democrats are saints. Politicians are liars until proven otherwise. Lies are bipartisan.
You're right I attributed some of David's points to you. Apologies. And I am extremely glad you have said "Lies are bi-partisan". That was not the message coming across at first. But let it be on record that youLet it be so that I did not provide any 'evidence'. And let it also be on the record that asking for "proof" of lies from all the news networks, is like two men in a desert, and one is asking the other for proof that sand exists. Media bias and corruption is on open, shameless display all around us. You should listen to Montelik, the guy dey try small small ![]() And mr montelik wants to lecture me of some mr Dan in 2004 while we are in 2010. He had to go back 6yrs when I was hussling in owerri looking for job or visa whichever comes first.Lol. Nothing do you jor. Nothing at all ![]() |
Thanks Enigma. jesus. pls continue here - https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-514450.0.html#msg6763250 |
275 navy seal caps Vesc JK we have the same last name? Kobi you need to loosen up, poking fun is the name of the game, we're all Nigerian's in here apart from Vesc who's an alien from a Krypton Naruto fans with their level one jutsus, come back and try again when you attain some level 3 chakra. Obinna, Mr Vice president, you're having too much fun with this. lol. Spikyn even made a quick cameo just to push this along. I vote to give Vesc power of veto jor. |
Who's the most intelligent . . . who's know more about God . . . who's most educated and rational . . . whose ideological box is biggest questions that are not too distant in relation from - who can let their drool hang the longest before dropping to the ground . . . who can reach farthest on their back and scratch the longest . . . who can drink the longest before passing out |
abge gerraway jor if not for the Packers deciding to set their franchise record for penalties last night you would've been asking us to cry with you instead.Urlachler na monster on defense tho . . . |
My fair Liberal friend, harm can never be meant from me to you, no matter what. You don forget so soon how much I love you? |
Montelik humoring Pres. lol. Prez, both sides Democratic and Republicans play dirty all the time. I guess my problem is I have a hard time, very hard time, taking seriously anyone who insinuates that its only one side that is guilty of wrongdoing and trickery. How can you look at the current media and political climate and arrive at such a conclusion? beats me. |
Somebody's got their panties all up in a bundle today. Relax Prez, of course its a joke. If it hit the wrong notes, then I retract and submit my apologies. |
ravenzord:Antz, not bad. Obinna, I think we have to scrap the animation idea. Shall we vote on that? ![]() |
"I believe this therefore it is so" TO ME!!!!!
If it is not so to you then no problem at all. I said I have seen it and see it all the time as I watch all the networks - to me, they all lie. I do not need you to believe me Prez, and I frankly have no desire to go youtube rampaging trying to find "evidence" that will convince you, especially as you're already heavily prejucided in one direction. E do ehn. You believe A, I believe B. God no vex. Now if you want to debate/discuss another matter, make we carry on . |
My eyes and ears have beheld the evidence I need. Me I am convinced. I have no desire to convince you Prez, sorry ehn. |
Lol, Obasanjo-ish. V3, thot you voted Up before? oh, maybe that was Kay. I'm willing to swing to Shark Tale if your price is right. |
montelik:Lol . Omofat is a reasonable dude. As for David and Prez, they are lost causes
Haba, of course strictly speaking, that statement that all republicans are always wrong and democrats always right cannot be true. I thought you were being facetious about it.
No oh, I was being straight up. That's the conclusion one would take away from the first couple posts. However, I would have to disagree and say that in more generally terms that the republican position is quite frankly wrong. Of course, that's my opinion probably as a result of the lens through which I see the issues.Waterboarding - every country is a hypocrit now. America is certainly no exception. War in Iraq - hardly a "republican" position now? they were politicians from both sides who supported and opposed it Detention without trial - you lose me here. Bill of rights applies to American citizens. Known and confirmed terrorists get zero sympathy from me and should from you too. on the others you mentioned, I'm pretty much with you though I don't think the republican position on healthcare is as simplistic as "let poor people die". Another discussion for another day. Like you say, we can discuss subjective things like the economy and whether or not the stimulus worked or whether we could have done with more stimulus money, etc but voting to give corporations the rights like individuals ?I'm with you Omofat. I sharply turn off where you might possibly think Democrats vote any more than republicans do to "help" people. There are a few good eggs, most of them are all corrupt and are not looking out for you or me. I would alter the statement slightly and say on the "balance of probabilities and in the general interest of humanity, the republicans generally tend to stand on the wrong side of most issues".And this is good! this is your perspective and general ideology on life and economics. Others fall on the other side. Who's wrong and who's right? or do we all have a piece of truth and need to put heads together? Then again, you can just as well counter and argue that I am only spewingYou must be mistaking me with Davidylan . Godspeed my sister, GodspeedLol. |
Maybe this is why she slapped you? Re: Sexy Girl To Manage A Cyber Cafe In Lagos.(with Benefit) https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria?topic=506765.msg6694532#msg6694532 themanna:in which case I would say, you thoroughly deserved it. That is, if the story is even true in the first place. Themanna, you also posted this topic in family, which is where this thread belongs anyways . . . but I'll let pple see your 2-stepping first. |
This Kobi guy self, modesty must've never been your strong suit. lol. How can UP! have only one vote? V3, Spiked and myself voted for it. See rigging right before our very eyes . . . these Nigerians self. |
I will refrain from giving you "one issue", for one simple reason - its a matter of perspective and we see the world through the lens of our prejudices. Cite the stimulus for example - Democrats will say "it stopped us from going over the egde and pulled us back from the brink of a severe recession. Republicans will says "how do you know? you said unemployment would not go past 9%, here we sit at greater than 10%, 13 - 14% in crucial states, how is the stimulus working?" and so on and so forth. Each side is so wrapped up and consumed in their "rightness" and the other sides "wrongness" that they hardly notice when they've crossed over into the ridiculous. Now omofat look at this statement again, and please tell me if you honestly think this is true - 'Republicans are always wrong and generally racist. Democrats are always right, they just don't know how to communicate' if you still do, then I wish you godspeed my brother, godspeed . |
If someone walked into this thread, this is the conclusion they'd make - 'Republicans are always wrong and generally racist. Democrats are always right, they just don't know how to communicate' I hope the contributors would pause for a second and meditate on the above, in the hopes that they would see the error of such a position, and understand that all policiticans - democrats & republicans - are the same. And no sadder a case than one to have convinced himself otherwise. |
See this boy lol, if you're expecting me to defend FN then I'm going to have to disappoint you. I have seen outright lies and mis-information deliberately peddled as news by ALL the networks because I watch all of them. If you've convinced yourself that its only FN then I'm happy to leave you with that belief. Me, I have seen all of them lie and spin. |
bawomolo:I second that. Melo for Noah should be easy to any head with all the screws intact. |
Finagling, editing and finetuning of speeches or comments is now common practice among ALL News networks. It is not a crime unqiue to FN only. I watch pretty much all the networks and have seen spins on a single story from all kinds of directions. Journalistic integrity is lacking in all manifestations of the media - from print to tv to internet. The only way for the average person to get the whole story is to have been there - so in other words, its almost impossible for us to know the whole truth oftentimes. |
Amalaaba: violent:ROTFLOL . . . . quote of the day! What university did he get his degree from self? bet its the same one as Ghaddafi ![]() |
Melo would be beyond insane to sign long term with New Jersey. He's better off waiting till next summer and becoming a FA. |
A-40 lol. You guys lucked out in the teams you drew early in the season. I want to know who scheduled these games cos some ojoro is going on. And oh . . . I will now bring up a discussion from a while back . . . remember when folks were saying in here that the Steelers win not because of Ben and sometimes in-spite of him? Isn't that theory being proven fact before our very eyes? See this Generator Boy so because the Colts managed to pick up that game last season - a game which Belichick gift-wrapped for ya'll by the way - you're getting mouth against your senior brothers the Pats? watch yaself oh On a serious note, this young Patriots defense has a long long long way to go. Giving up 30 to the Bills? Did anyone see the Cowboys celebrating the win like they had just won the division title? kai, see how condition has made crayfish to bend ![]() |
