morpheus24:Absolutely. If enough people complain maybe Fifa will reconsider. SA's too dey complain, though I get their point. What if the song was sang by K'naan, would they object as well cause it wasn't a South African singing it. Shakira's song is actually a sample off an old Camerounian group Golden sounds which was popular in her home country columbia. I remember the group from my early days. see them belowLol, probably, but maybe not as strongly. It's hard to imagine all the brains at Fifa would not have imagined how this wouldn't be a problem. And it makes it even worse the song is not original, but infact a biting off an old song from another country being sung by someone from another continent. How them no go vex? lol Although another angle. Do you know the history of fifa anthems and who sung them? ie was it always an American when it was held in America? or sung by a german when it was held in Germany etc? |
Na wa oh . . . everyday some controversy about the world cup lol. Anyways, both sides have good points . . . -a SAcan should be singing it - first worldcup in africa = monumnetal moment for the continent etc -it's okay to have a foreigner collaborating, it shows its a global event Personally, I think FIFA shoulda asked a SAcan to do it, just to avoid drama and to allow Southafricans to showcase their talent. Shakira doesn't need the publicity, it would've been better served giving it to a local artist. And going by the two videos you posted Morpheus, Shakira's song is very nice and well done (including the accent and pronounciation of the local tongue), however, Knaan's/Bisbal's song is simply riveting, fantastic! definitely more deserving to be the official anthem. |
Hey Tayo that is AWESOME! We must definitely have dinner. I still have your email address. We go talk . . . |
bawomolo:It happens, though not often. SA is hardly your run-of-the-mill #7 seed with 4 championship belts hanging around the current squad's waist and none around Dirk's and his starters. If I were Cuban, I would give this group one more season to integrate the additions and get them used to each other, and if they don't win a championship or at least make the finals, then its time to break it up. They have been "contenders" for a long time but never really done any real damage. No point in keeping a nucleus that does not produce. |
Chrisbenogor:How many zombies are turning over their hard earned monies to 'pastors' in the hopes that ^^ will be true in their lives. Aletheia, that's hilarious. "Certified B.S." lol |
nuclearboy:Unfortunately it ain't no joke. Somehow my email add got added to a "christian magazine's" mailing list - for about a year or so now - and I woulda deleted myself from their list but they regularly send these kinds of advertisements and I thot I'd stay tuned to see what was latest in the world of "church". This was sent out just yesterday. . . "becoming a church growth pastor, how to increase giving in your church" these guys are brazen in their approach and now openly do it without an ounce of shame. |
Common now fellas. Please play nice. It's been a good debate btw you all. Noetic, I think it was the spambot that automatically banned you because you tried to repost that last one. In the future if the spambot tags a post, don't try to repost it cos you'll get banned automatically. |
Mazaje dear, the rate at which you open so many christian threads . . . just become one already. |
International Pastors and Ministers Summit: Fulfilling Your Ministry. In this seminar you will learn: -How to break the 100/200 barrier -How to attract new members to your church -Front and back door of your church -Becoming a church growth pastor -How to increase giving in your church and how to release prosperity anointing within your congregation -How to start a television/radio ministry -How to raise partners in your ministry One would think that a gathering of "pastors" might include bible studies or prayer sessions or community service or any of those other outrageous practices the early apostles took part in.

Then went online afterwards to watch more videos and pictures and discuss on the boards. This level of fanaticism no get rival. Well at least I got something from it. He was so happy he went over and cleaned my dishes and kitchen before I got home lol . . . but ehn no oh, christmas is still 8 months away ![]() |
Pastor AIO: its the warrior in him now Pastor, I doubt he can help it.Well, as regards my own picture, I don't want to stun you in the other direction. Feel free to imagine me in any delightful form that you choose. I promise you it'll be better than the reality.Yeah yeah . . . the stunnerz - both inside and out - always try to deflect the attention from themselves in a noble attempt at modesty. Be conceited for once in your NL life pastor - unleash your inner Narcissus and show us the stunner ![]() nuclearboy:I laugh. Some of us have wondered and tried to solicit definitive answers from him on many an occasion. My guess is Pastor himself is still figuring it all out - just like the rest of us. @Jesoul:Lol, it has made an appearance or two in the past. But for today? after you sir . |
chic2pimp:Yes yes dats me . . . your turn . . . I hereby match you with . . . drumroll, wait for it . . . Chiogo the way you're always on her case, I know deep down, it's true love. You know we all waiting in anticipation of Lil Jesoul's or Should I say Mini Jesoul'syou go wait tire ehn . Utterly and totally and completely off-topic: So I'm minding my own business behind the scenes, reading the thread, chuckling at all the witty exchanges and I mistakenly click on David's profile and wow In light of the above, Pastor AIO I beseech thee to please take am sofly with David. Furthermore, please Pastor feel free to mistakenly upload your picture, so I can be once again stunned lol. All these undercover fine dudes on NL self . . . saw Abuzola's pic a while back and was like sorry Mazaje for going off-topic. |
coldhearts:Coldhearts I was trying to get you both to loosen up a bit. Worked! ElRazur:Eya, sorry about your computer. Hope it wasn't too much of a financial hit. Yeah coordinating a mixtape is a hella lotta work. Either it takes a really looong time to get done, or its finished quickly but of poor quality. Issok, we go talk soon . Stay blessed. |
ElRazur:My brotha no mind me jare. I'm weird with communication like that sometimes. So if I ever vanish in the future, its not you, its me . I saw your thread on the nl mixtape thing and was gonna hit you up and find out what's up. So . . . what's up? ![]() |
coldhearts: ElRazur: see yab . . . lol . . . Infact, I insist you guys get a room asap. This love is strong ![]() coldhearts:
then you are not ready for marriage bc marriage is full of ''nonsense'' for the most part
Kai Prez, marriage na nonsense? I sorry the woman that will be hitched to you oh! ![]() |
Coldhearts & ElRazur . . . why don't you guys just get a room already ![]() |
Wow, see the lowly Bucks on the brink of eliminating lofty Atlanta. Awesome game last night. Shey una see now why these guys woulda given the Celtics hell. I hope they take out the Hawks . . . those guys have been developing too much swagger this season ![]() and the Nuggets live to die another day. |
If Bill Russells bling don't count, then neither does MJ's. At least we have won in this century ![]() |
Travelista:Lol, an obvious fact getting lost in all the crying. |
chic2pimp:Kai, see this youngin. Uncle for where? Don't you know I'm old enough to be your older sister? or at worst your classmate? Children of these days, no respect whatsoever. |
So I like many of you have heard all kinds of speculation about that bill - infringes on civil rights, leads to racial profiling, encourages corrupt law enforcement practices etc etc etc . . . Instead of hearsay, how about we read the bill for ourselves to see what it really says shall we? straight from the AZ gov legislature website: http://www.azleg.gov/legtext/49leg/2r/bills/sb1070s.pdf Purpose of the bill: Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:The Scope/Effect of the bill: 11 Sec. 2. Title 11, chapter 7, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding article 8, to read:This simply says, there is no new "power" given to law enforcement, just that which already exists in Federal law and that law enforcement officials should actually enforce the existing federal laws. This I think is the whole point of the bill. What Law Enforcement can do: For any lawful contact made by a law enforcement official or a law enforcement agency of this state or a law enforcement official or a law enforcement agency of a county, city, town or other political subdivision of this state where reasonable suspicion exists that the person is an alien who is unlawfully present in the United States, a reasonable attempt shall be made, when practicable, to determine the immigration status of the person, except if the determination may hinder or obstruct an investigation.I guess this is the main portion people are up in arms over. . . it says if a police officer suspects during the course of "lawful contact" (ex. traffic stop, or during the investigation of a crime) that the person could be illegal, they have the right to ask them for ID such as a drivers licence - this shouldn't be a problem no? since only legal residents can get driver's licenses in the first place. It's true this will lead to some kind of profiling but I think Tayo already showed how profiling is sometimes necessary. Let's continue . . . What will happen if found to be illegal: Any person who is arrested shall have the person’s immigration status determined before the person is released. The person’s immigration status shall be verified with the federal government pursuant to 8 United States code section 1373(c). A law enforcement official or agency of this state or a county, city, town or other political subdivision of this state may not solely consider race, color or national origin in implementing the requirements of this subsection except to the extent permitted by the United States or Arizona Constitution. A person is presumed to not be an alien who is unlawfully present in the United States if the person provides to the law enforcement officer or agency any of the following:I don't see why anyone should have a problem with the above. If you're arrested and found to be illegal, you get handed over to Immigration authorities - not deported. If you can easily show your drivers license or any other ID you'll be fine. Kini big deal? I think we should all make the effort to find things out for ourselves instead of taking what the media spoonfeeds us. From what I see, legal residents of Arizona have nothing to be worried about at all. As long as you can show your driver's license, you'll be fine so what's all the hoopla about? or am I reading something wrong here?for the rest http://www.azleg.gov/legtext/49leg/2r/bills/sb1070s.pdf |
Lol . . . na Osisi be that? nice moves. That na real workout. Next time we want to see your face too ![]() manmustwac:Manmustwac, I will pay at least $50 to see your own video. |
I think the NFL out of all the drafts is where you just never know what you're going to get. Perhaps in 2 yrs we should be able to tell which picks were worth it and which were not. |
una still dey here? i dey europe shopping for a BB team ![]() bawomolo:One-hit wonder = 17 championships? there's something wrong with this math, can anyone please point it out? ![]() |
chic2pimp:Go siddon jare According to you: Any team the Celtics beat = not a proper team ![]() Notice you said half while I said three quarters. Reason being other teams can call on the services of other role players to if not win them games, at the very least push them very close to doing so. However the heats can't. It's D.Wade or the Highway as far as they are concerned.typo. 3/4 jor . If you can shut down Kobe or Lebron, their respective role players for the most part ain't doing jack.Thank You Dearie, I like the term YoungManSo you should listen in humble submission while your elders are speaking in here ehn I ain't denying that some things don't match up well against others however the Heats in particular are a shitty team. I willing to bet a team solely made up of Grandmas would beat em'lol, so Heat are a shittay team? even though they finished 5th and had some very impressive wins this year? If you subtract the superstars from their teams you can almost easily say the same for Cleveland and co. |
bawomolo:He's in the same image as Gasoft. Puts up good numbers but will forever remain "weak". ha ha shaq is over the hill, noah is the future. i see him as a more polished ben wallace and cheaper too. the game used to much rougher than this so i understand why noah and howard are complaining.Lol, I guess you're right. Its the era of sissies and divas. You never hear the greats like Kobe, Duncan ever whining or complaining or using the officials as an excuse. They just play and let their game do the talking. chic2pimp:lol, I see e dey pain you Celtics dey win, issok ehn yes they may lose in the next round, but that will not take away from how well they've played so far. Yes KG na old man, along with most of our squad, so what? they have had awesome careers and have done well inspite of the challenges this season. And I'm not sure what your argument is . . . if you stop or limit the top player on practically any team, you're already half way to a W. So what's your point? Also on the 'historically having had little trouble with the heat ' thingy, sure you haven't. Let's be honest they've pretty much been a decent/average team before D wade arrived and they'll go back to being Mediocre once he leaves, so I really don't see what the big deal is?See this young man. You do understand when I say "historically" I'm not talking about Celtics from the 70s and 80s? but the more recent 00's? Let us do a case study shall we? Historically, the Lakers are like 2-10 against . . . drumroll . . . . the Charlotte Bobcats. What great players do the bobcats have? or is the simple truth not that they just don't match up well against them? |
@Jesoul You want Joking Noah to elbow Shaq back?? Hehehe you want the young chap to die an untimely death! This is just his 4th season at least pity his baby momma! as a matter of fact i go like report you to your pastor
Hehe good luck finding my pasitor, cos me I no get one Joking should shut up and stop complaining. The playoffs are not for chumps so if he cannot handle dem bows then a 1st rd exit should be assessed to him asap. |
chic2pimp:^ hehe sour grapes? ![]() The same Heat team that finished the season on fire like 10-3 or something? The same Heat team that has been playing well up till the playoffs? All of a sudden because the Celtics are handling them "they don't have any decent player besides Wade" abegi go siddon. The Celtics historically have never had trouble with the Heat so this is no suprise. If you remember I was even praying we face them cos I knew we were guaranteed a spot in the 2nd rd. If we'd faced Charlotte or Milwaukee (or any other young & athletic team), we'd probably be tied or down a game. It's all about match-ups dude. |
