Olu, please take it easy with the Catholic threads. The ones you've posted so far are pretty much on the same topic. Stick to one or two ehn. Gracias. |
Lol. Kai Olu, you're on an anti-catholic rampage lol. Don't worry, they'll soon come out and address your posts. |
^^ you ain't seen nuthin yet mister. |
v3:Kai, only episode 2? lol. Okay I'll keep my mouth shut. You got a long way to go, but you'll enjoy every second of it. The quirkiness, the grossness, the wierdness, the wowness, and the totally insaneness. And if you don't love it, then something is wrong with you, not the show ![]() |
eldee:Unfortunately of this list I've only seen Sahara . . . and my eyes were certainly not on Penelope, but on McConaughey. @JesoulLol. Are you voting for Cruz's acting? or her assets? |
v3:What episode are you on? so I can drop a spoiler on what happens next ![]() |
eldee:Then you must not have seen "Be Cool". Think up all the bad descriptors you can, then multiply them by 100, then divide them by 0.0001. Your result should come about 1% close to describing how bad Be Cool was. I also nominate Denzel. Jk and V3 paid me $100 each under the NL table. |
Mudley313:When you make a definitive statment that the bible has been "altered and tampered with" can you begin to prove it? show where and how much was changed? Or isn't that just conjecture? your personal opinion? |
Mazaje, how body? ![]() mazaje:It simply means such a person believes the text was inspired by God. Key word being believe. How would the end result be different from a text that is not divinely inspired?Quite straight forward. One would accept what she/he believes to be divine and reject what she/he doesn't believe to be divine. How would you differentiate a book that is divinely inspired from one that isn't?The crux of the thread. I suppose this answer will vary from person to person, but personally, it's really quite simple and I know you won't like the answer - but one differentiates by Faith. What specifically was done to the text and/or authors to warrant the label "divinely inspired?"Some people base their acceptance/rejection of such texts based on the prevailing sentiment or best estimation or educated guesses within academic circles. And truly, that is not an unreasonable position. Personally, I hold that spiritual matters are not academically apprehended, and attempting to do so is tantamount to trying to dig a 1000ft hole using a telescope. In matters of faith, you think with your heart, not just your brain. And where and in what a person puts their faith and trust I do not think should be left to a scholar or expert. They for example point to some prophecies to show that the bible is divinely inspired. But the problem is that various people interpret the various prophecies differently such that the prophecies lead to more confusion even amongst the Christians themselves. This is true and unfortunate. As long as we're all humans, we're all different and will see things differently. This I do not think is a direct indictment on the bible, but rather on us, and our shortcomings in being able to understand it and in being able to work with each other. There should be no cases where the bible says anything that is inaccurate, exaggerated, or false. It should be remarkable in its precision throughout and it shouldn't contain errors of inconsistencies. But that is not the case, so what exactly does it mean for a book or text to be divinely inspired? And how will you differentiate such a book with one that isn't divinely inspired? But who decides what "precision" is Mazaje? No matter what the issue, from religion to science to politics you can have equally experienced and knowledgeable people/experts on different sides of a singular issue. I do not think there is a universal template that can applied evenly across the globe as a means of "measuring" the "accuracy" or "precision" of the bible. And if spiritual matters are not academically apprehended, do you suppose it is even possible to "measure" the authenticity of the bible? And if we were to just speaking academic-wise, even then, there isn't a general consensus among scholars on countless biblical issues. |
idiopathic:I am ashamed on behalf on these women . This is just . . . sad. This manner of mentation is so deeply ingrained in their culture, I scarcely think anything or anyone can make them see or think different. Gosh, this is messed up. |
Romeo4real:This reminds me of the movie Troy from a few years ago. Paris, Prince of Troy steals away at night back to Troy - with Helen, wife of Menelaus the Mycenaean King. Menelaus is infuriated at this treachery from his wife and Paris. King Agamemnon - ruler of the entire land, who had for years been dreaming about conquering Troy - uses this as as an opportunity, as justification or reason if you will, to invade Troy. Agamemnon did not care about Helen. He did not even care about Menelaus. He would've invaded Troy one way or another. Helen just happened to be a convenient vehicle for him to ride on. My point is the same as Romeo's. People who will kill, steal, hate, discriminate etc will do so one way or another, with or without religion. Religion just happens to be their "justification" or outlet for that which already exists in them. If religion didn't exist, they would use something else. @Myjoe, what's up doc? ![]() |
^^ No one is rejoicing except lai-lai perhaps but the truth is you guys had your chance to kill those guys off. Lemme say here that if y'all don't win that game 6 then its Boom Bye Bye cos another loss will drain your players totally and game 7 would be a massacre
hmmm . . . now where have I heard that before? Oh ye of little faith. |
larimo:Larimo, it was the spambot that tagged your post. I have pm'd Seun to untag it for you. |
See our enemies rejoicing lol. Celtics will (must) close out in game 6. Orlando cannot win 4 in a row over the Celts anyways. Anyone see Mike Brown making a cameo on sportscenter? I just missed it and didn't hear what he said. |
Mudley313:I thought I already explained that to you? NO SEXUALLY EXPLICIT OR HATEFUL CONTENTOnce again, please discuss respectfully and cordially and no one will disturb you from airing your anti-religious views Mudley. Cheers. |
By the authority vested in me by way of the tens of series finales I've watched, I declare that of 24 to be the absolute best! While I wasn't thrilled with the episodes leading up to the end, I must say that the way everything ended was simply perfect. I tip my glasses to the writers, that was gorgeous to watch. From president Taylor outing herself, to Logan offing himself and his assistant, to Chloe and Cole (shocked he survived the entire thing), to Jack not being killed but placed on the run (they couldn't kill him anyways if they want to come out with the movies so no surprise there). 24, max kudos, that was a brilliant finale to a brilliant show. |

Pheonix thank you for proving me wrong with my 4-1 prediction may I continually be proven wrong in your case and your case only . ThiefOfHearts: |
D issue arose not because of the injuries but cos you said he has passed his prime and thus has little potential. . . if u also agree that he can become a top player once he overcomes the injuries, then we are in harmony. . .that's why A-40 was emphasizing how young he is, its too early to predict he would never be injury free for a significant period in his career
Semantics semantics. Whether it be potential, abi injuries, abi the playboy stint, abi the cheese sandwich he ate last night ![]() I've explained what I mean jare, yeye laker fan. |
^lol, Lailai I'm not speaking as a Celtic but a BB fan. Do I also dislike Yao Ming and Oden? I'm just stating a fact. Has Bynum ever played one full season? after 5 years in the league? isn't he always saddled with injury? abi I dey make am up? When big men according to the order of bynum struggle with injuries early in their career, they don't last long. Fact. Not a Celtic fan fact, but a fact. Ask Bill Walton. |
A-40, this is Bynum's 5th yr in the NBA I believe and it is entirely different for big men. Their shelf life is shorter. And compound that by the fact that Bynum is always laden with injuries. I think he's only played one full season, just one. Same goes for Greg Oden. If you're already battling these kinds of injuries this early into your career as a big man, take heart and start planning for an alternative career. Ditto to Yao ming. |
^ I don talk say una no go belief me. We have already seen the best there is in Bynum. He just isn't what people thought he would be when he got drafted. Lailai me I no dey swear for anyone, just calling it like I see it son ![]() |
^lol. The toughest opponent the Lakers were going to get were the Oklahoma Thunder. I predicted a 4-1 series over the Suns and they're right on pace. Odom has always been inconsistent. No suprise there. And will anyone believe me when I say Bynum has passed him prime? mark my words. |
^^lol at all the convos. Did someone say Rashad Lewis had a blowout game? I'm not suprised they lost, Celtics had won what 6, 7 in a row? its hard to keep playing at that level and they only lost by a tiny margin with most of the big 4 not playing well. Orlando you have 2 days to make your vacation plans ![]() |
^Chicago cannot afford both Wade and Lebron. Unless they resort to their shady gangsters in city hall to pull some bailout strings. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/playoffs/2010/news/story?id=5215555 Gosh. Steve Nash has to be the toughest guy in the entire NBA. No one else has taken the kind of punches and punishment yet he keeps bouncing back up like it was just a scratch. I gbadun this guy. |
^^ I don't get people who tatoo their names on themselves Anyways, breaking news this morning, Mike Brown has been fired by the Cavs. The first casualty in a list of personell I'm sure and if they want my adivce they must do whatever it takes to trade Mo I-disappear-during-crunch-time Williams. |
bawomolo:Gbam. The million dollar question. I read the law and posted parts of it pages ago along with the link to the whole thing. The first thing it states is "there are no new powers or authority given to law enforcement other than that which already exists in Federal law". So why are Obama and co. insinuating otherwise? pick one of the following 2 - 1. They have not read the law themselves 2. They are deliberately claiming othewise in order to retain the "hispanic" vote even though the overwhelming statistics show that Americans and Arizonans want and support the law. And Brewer the incumbent governor got a 20% rise in the polls since she signed the bill, that's 20%! and almost 80% of the entire state supports the law. Arizonans have spoken, I think the president and his band of clueless airheads should just shut up and leave them alone. |
^lol, see this boy. Are you sure that wasn't just the dream you had last night? ![]() |
xenophobia is a natural response. the arizona law is xenophobic in nature and majority of americans support the law. hte best americans can do now is to come together and train or re-train arizona police to carry out the law with as little racism as possible bc definitely some racist elements in the police will use the loop holes in the law to do their thing. but i dont want to be too judgemental on the americans who want to end illegal immigration. it is quite understandable, albeit sad.
Oh men Prez, do you realize the "Arizona Law" IS the Federal Law? there is nothing new. I have read the bill and posted it few pages ago. If you're calling the "Arizona Law" xenophobic then so is Federal immigration law. Montelik's point is worthy of another highlight: montelik: |
MandingoII:Lol . . . Imagine. |
montelik:Abeg no let the casual observer no think say I no love Palin oh! I recall the speech she gave at the republican covention, men I'm not one given to oratorial skills, but dayum! lolAfter all why would she have accepted to be McCain's running mate if she was the second coming of Barry GoldwaterDon't get me wrong, I didn't mean "appeal to everyone" - not at all. I meant appeal to people from all sides, not everyone - that's impossible. All in all, I agree with you. Common sense should rule but unfortunately the actors are enslaved to false party loyalty. And everyone is guilty of it. I recall my economics professor once said "an equal compromise between two fools, is still a foolish compromise".Lol. Smart man. As for Romney. I don't know why I just like the guy despite his flaws. Maybe its the hairLol. The hair for where? there's nothing special there now. Granted compared to the other carpets on the heads of lawmakers in Washington, he's not so bad. |
