SportsRe: NBA Season 2010/11 by JeSoul(f): 5:10pm On Apr 08, 2010
Did any of ya'll catch this article? Kai! I dunno what could warrant such a total beatdown, merciless ripping and complete destruction of poor RaSheed  grin

http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=simmons/100407&sportCat=nba
Excerpts below . . .
Wallace is only a 35-year-old bench player on a pseudocontender that will lose in Round 1 or 2 of the playoffs. But it's been a decidedly unhappy regular season for a 50-win team. Forget about Kevin Garnett's balky knee or Paul Pierce's aching body -- there were damaging trade rumors, young guns (Kendrick Perkins and Rajon Rondo) rebelling against the old guard, legitimate alpha dog and chemistry issues, a coach who can't consistently motivate his team or settle on a rotation, ongoing rebounding woes and, worst of all, old legs. Only Rondo's individual brilliance made things tolerable.

-Sheed roped the Celtics into giving him an $18.9 million, three-year deal, made a big stink about breaking MJ's 72-win record and then showed up for training camp wearing a fat suit.

-Sheed likes jogging at half-speed. Sometimes I count to see how many consecutive possessions Sheed can pull off without crossing either charity stripe. His unofficial record is nine.

-Sheed doesn't rebound as much as debound. "Lazy" isn't a strong enough word.

-He always seems to be standing in the wrong spot.

-He constantly forgets to box out.

-His hops are long gone, so balls routinely bounce over his head to opposing players.

-Sheed makes me say the words, "Why won't we play Brian Scalabrine?"

-Sheed lists himself as 6-foot-11, but he's probably two inches taller than that.

-Sheed shoots this turnaround once a game. Sometimes twice if we're lucky.

-Sheed makes his coaches want to become TV analysts.
and just a tip of the article iceberg. Kai! this was brutal  grin  did Sheed steal his lunch money?

They should at least have shoved him out or carried him without his legs touching the floor out of their building.  grin

Look at the scraggeddy and skinny arse fool he brought as bodyguard. LWKMD grin grin grin
LOL  grin I thought I was the only one that noticed  grin

The host should've even left him, lets see what he would've done. That black woman could've even taken both he and his bodyguard combined, and the whole world woulda seen show, shior, they don't know we black women have been trained since birth cool

Yes. The media certainly has a big hand in the direction of british politics. Remember the same sun newspaper swept tony blair into office in 1997. Blair used the media very well in remaining in power and winning 3 historical elections for labour.
Problem is there are too many right wing media out there. Apart from the daily mirror and the guardian there are hardly any voice for the left.
Is that really the case in the UK?

It is the exact opposite in the US. The far left rules the media by far.

@jesoul.

You do have a point. The UK media appears to get personal and just nasty. This can weigh and sway the influence and opinion of the public towards or against a party.
Exhibit A: MSNBC during the Bush years, Exhibit B: Fox during the Obama years. lol.

It seems like as far back as since I became conscious, the media has always been not just a barometer, but the driving force, for which direction the society will sway to. Which is why corrupt media = corrupt govt . . . or is it the other way round?

that situation , in Nigeria, would have turned into a free for all for sure.

The male host was just saying "touch me in my studio, touch me in my studio", in such a gentle voice as if he was begging the guy. If na naija, they'd have started attacking each other with chairs at that point.

If nothing at all they'd have started abusing and cursing the AWD fellow in their various local languages. The man go run comot from the place. undecided

who has that kind of patience back home. Certainly not the majority.[/quote]grin  grin
Seeing it was an elderly white guy, the black host prob didn't want to knock him out lol

@thamemead.

I like the policy of the minor/lightweight parties, but I am not sure they can make a difference at this point in time.

In my opinion, there isn't much between the two main parties. I do however dread conservatives making it, as my sector will see a massive cut. (healthcare/nhs) .

The papers have chosen their political parties and while this appear to be a long tradition in the UK, I am of Tue belief that they should be neutral and be more objective.
This is a long standing tradition in almost every country with a "functioning" democratic system. Corruption is everywhere, you will be hard-pressed to find a truly objective media outlet - paper or tv or internet.

^wow at the recent conversation.

Nuclearboy, you are wise beyond wise and I thank you.

InesQor, you didn't have to go into all that again. I know you've already tried to explain urself several times on NL. But I do thank you for trying to defend me.

Tudor, in hindsight, I could've sent you a private message before outright deleting your post. For that I apologize. In the future I will make every attempt to do so first. And I do implore you to please, try to be cordial and respectful in your conversations with those with whom you disagree with or do not like. That is all I ask not only of you but other NLders. Thanks.

Now please, return to the topic of this thread!

H2, me I no agree oh grin

chiogo:
Hehe JeSoul, did you just hear Doc say "Old age again. We're old." ? grin grin grin
The analyst was like "Not that old" after Doc's comment.

There are old people everywhere, it just seems like the Celtics specifically target the oldies when bringing new people. Like, I can tolerate the already-existing oldies but don't bring new ones too! grin Michael Finley was on his A-game tonight though. Wallace can be too, sometimes.

Nice win sha, can't complain.
Lol, nah I missed it. Doc is probably the coolest coach in my memory of Celtic coaches. Ray's and Finley's contracts are both up this offseason. It'll be interesting to see if they renew Ray, I know Finley is def gone unless he has a monster playoff run.

I made no conclusions. All I did was to interpret what I read on the thread.

Your job involves giving bitter pills (deleting posts and recommending people for ban) but the least u can do is to carry the victims (in this case tudor) along. I dont think Tudor would have complained if he had been forewarned.

And looking at the post (on this thread) in question, I dont think to insinuate that mavenbox is inesquor constitutes an insult.
And you cannot see what was deleted from the thread. Lets us move on please.

Noetic, and I am sad that you would jump to conclusions.

I deleted several posts from tudor today that were insultive and I posted the reason why above - that is why I deleted them not because of anything else. Inesqor has openly admitted to be mavenbox several times so I'm not sure what the issue is.

^ Redd is overrated.

The Bucks are a very good up and coming team. People would do well to recognize they are not the pushover they were past couple seasons. Even me I fear the Celtics to play them in the 1st rd.

Tudor you're getting all worked up over nothing.

Do you know Alhaji and myself are very very good friends? and that I am practically very good friends with many prominent muslims on NL? Have any of them ever accused me of wrong? You misunderstood this topic to be an attack, rather than the friendly chiding that it was. I was about to cheerfully welcome you back when I saw your name and I do so now.
