OLAADEGGBU has no argument on that. He is simply saying I should consign all the Bibles that state the fact there was an interpolation, or put a dash in that verse, to the Thames and revert to the “authorized” versions which contain verse 36 without informing us of the matter.
Oh okay. I forced my brain to track back and read the discussion. So OLA is saying about "one taken in the night, the other in the day" is evidence the earth is round and you said its simply implying "it would occur when people would be doing different things or in different places"  and then you mentioned its highlighted original mss do not contain that portion in Luke and OLA says but its in Matt - is that right?

I'm still of the opinion it makes no difference either way. I can understand why OLA would draw that conclusion about rotation as I guess it can be derived from that verse if taken in the most literal of senses and applied to the 3rd power. But to that I say what does it matter either way? Another signpostcheesy (used with permission from imhotep)

What is the problem with the tax penalties? If you drive without auto insurance you get slammed with serious fines . . . you want that repealed too?
Having a car is very optional. Haven't you noticed?

The goal of making sure everyone has insurance is such that no one goes to the ER, gets free treatment that is then tacked unto the insurance bill for you and me. Its just that simple. Watch something other than Fox for a change ma'am.
Yes that is the goal. But again I have been telling you people it is not working here in ground zero. I'm too lazy to make my case now, maybe later. But a quick google search should suffice and show you articles from even left-wing news outlets that detail the problems with Mass-Care.

i dont know if you are a lawyer. i'm not but i've been to court before, it can take lawyers 2 hours to say ''in its full technicality'', what you and me can say in 3 sentences. dont you know that it can take tens of pages just to establish one of those points you like. you have not read the bill to know those stuff you hate. meanwhile the bill is to be amended in the senate to remove some stuff like the nebraska deal which was done to assist in getting the 60 voted necessary to pass the senate(without which we would still be debating the bill in the senate today) but again the republicans want to block that. lol.[/quote]Like I just said to David, we shall see what is really in the bill as it unfolds before all our eyes. I know why I am sceptical, again have you forgotten I live in ground zero?

hope you are proud of your tea baggers who are now busy threatening to kill the children of those who voted for the bill and are trying to intimidate the democrats who voted for the bill, throwing stones in their offices and threatening more.
You should know better than to ascribe the alleged actions of a handful of fringe right wingers to an entire group of people. Fringe left wingers are just as bad. We should not let this cast a dark shadow over people who are just honest disagreers. Has anything Montelik said not gotten thru to you eh?  cool

what happened to the rhetoric of ''you will pay in november''? if the bill was anti american, i guess the democrats will be voted out in november? uh-uh, i saw a bounce in support for the bill, i saw a bounce in support for obama in the polls, hmmmnn . . . tell the tea baggers, no need for a fight, use your vote come november. start with the blue dog democrats grin

Actually not really I think.

She was just playing the part of wimpy in order to maintain her cover. Also remember she was about to kill her ex and the other con before Cole stopped her, so its not entirely out of the blue.

lol we know it is based purely on partisan politics. Tell us why Scott Brown isnt voting for something quite similar to what he actually supported and was proposed by Mitt Romney in Mass?
To me Mitt Romney will forever be held responsible for the mess that is "universal healthcare" in Mass. He made a huge mess and left it for us to clean up. I think this alone throws a huge wrench in his presidential aspirations, and rightly so.

These are just 2 parts of a 1000 page bill. I know better. I have seen and lived it here in Mass. There are a few good outcomes but overall the Mass model is a disaster with an oversized capital D. I particularly dislike the portion of the bill that mandates everyone to be covered or else suffer tax penalties - this is the one thing I was hoping they would leave out.

Obama actually talked about this very point while on the campaign trail highlighting this big problem with the mass model and how it made no sense to penalize people that cannot afford it in the first place - so I'm suprised he included it in this bill.

here is a video of what obama and the democrats want to end. in this 80 seconds video, we see Dr linda Peeno, a doctor for an insurance company, whose job is to deny clients(those who have insurance o) a coverage when they need it. she denied a man insurance coverage and was promoted, she became richer by far, but her conscience pushed her to come and expose these things. this is why insurance companies are fighting with their life to block this move, they have succeeded for about a century, but soon it will be over for this kind of practice, then they will device another means grin

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DoqpPwvUoP0
I can't watch that video now but will later. And I think I've stated more than once I have zero affection for insurance companies, they are the personification of evil and need to be dealt a blow. But I will not support anything that proposes to address the problem in theory but is then in reality delivered dressed in an unrecognizable garb that does more to hurt the people than help. Again - the Mass model.

Nobody knows what effect this bill will have until it is signed into law. I will hold my comments, my REAL comments until then.

Shutter Island, I haven't said was mind blowing but to me was a breath of fresh air. I started to figure it out when the supposed mad woman who killed her children was pretending Leo was her dead husband.
I really really liked how REALISTIC Leo's hallucinations were. I have silly dreams like that all the time where people morph into objects, things change phases, water becomes blood, becomes flowers. Being afraid of the yet to be born because they are without form and hence more dangerous, transvisible spirits, converting oneself into a previous substance into which one had been originally formed etc etc soooooooo, it was kind of a very personal and effective touch from the director IMO.

Hmm, Spiked.

In delicate terms, I'll say I'm somewhat less complimentary of Shutter Island. Saw it 3 days ago actually, and less than halfway into it I pretty much figured out what was going on and how it would end. . . .  I turned to Mr. watching it with me, shared my prophecy and effectively spoiled it for him too cheesy - so it was very anti-climatic for me, and I think it will be for the average movie enthusiast who's seen *insert the movie we know they copied the idea from here*

But its still an okay movie. Good acting, cool scenes, crazy people, some confusing tidbits here and there and even boring for me atimes, but overall okay.

I agree about what James says. But Paul is clear that faith is all you need. A group of Christians I am sure you know their label have since run away with that.
We will hafta open an entirely different thread to hash that one out dude smiley. Lets skip it for now.

No. It just proves my point. We have to insist on a basis for our faith. Faith is insufficient.
I think the problem is you're looking at faith as a "community" thing instead of a "personal" thing. As I hinted at in my last post, ones faith is only unto oneself and is not meant to be projected onto others and become truth for them.

And faith is utterly sufficient - for the christian.
Romans 1:17
For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: "The righteous will live by faith."

We can begin by having a Bible that is an authentic to an objective observer as an encyclopedia. We don't have that if we forget about theology (where faith is fine) a bit and go into the Bible's historicity. If you read my response to Chukwudi44 you will get a glimpse of what I mean.
But in the truest sense of the phrase, is there such a thing as an "objective observer"? Let him that is without bias, cast the first stone.

Since you agree that people of non-Christian faiths also have faith, and you do not believe they can be right at the same time as Christians, you will agree that faith can mislead us. So an objective observer, one who has no faith in anything, looking at the religions ought to be able to spot some solid truths which will lead him to faith. That is why I do not accept that we can ever use faith as a starting point.
I absolutely agree with that - depending on what/who/why the faith was placed in/on something. Its a very strong point.

Will get the movie you speak of asap! Thanks.
Please do. I think it will help lubricate this discussion immensely. There was the man of faith, the "objective observers" who thot the man to be crazy for doing what he was doing and there was the man who abused the "faith" unto his own end. And we see an experience was his starting point, and a faith borne out of that experience was what carried him unto an end that proved true.
