Its either they are one and the same or nopuqeater is a huge Olabowale fan and a very very good copy cat. What could be Alhaji's motive for coming back in a new incarnation? |
Duplicate topic. Please continue here: https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-426270.0.html Thanks! |
H2O2:Hehe . . . Do you know that the Lakers are under .500 against the other top 4 teams in the west? bawomolo:from 17 championship banners hanging in our living room ![]() Nah but seriously. Celtics cannot handle young, athletic, passionate, hungry teams like ATL. If they're predictable and slow/regular, don chop belle full like Orlando and Cleveland we can beat them. |
nuclearboy:Wow. Just . . . wow. Jesoul:Very very true. And I think the situation varies (for true pastors that is). What may not be profitable in one case may be in another. But the most noble of positions would be the one Paul selflessly assumed. Secondly, do you really need 3 SUVs, a private jet, bi-annual family holidays in the bahamas, etc in the midst of the deprivation that is Nigeria's lot? You Jesoul, may have been away for too long - those of us here see the poverty in the populace and the anger in the youths. I was born in the North and they are angry: they have nothing to live for (as far as they are concerned and the proof of that is in how much they value life) plus we know that majority of our youth can perform only menial labor. They are so poor that they cannot afford to learn a trade like carpentry or masonry. I challenge anyone to show me where such exist as the standard today. These people can be helped to learn a trade or be schooled rather than being idle and thus providing a workshop for satan. You drive past and feel the malevolence.Nuclear, you are not overreacting at all. If true christians didn't react this way then something is seriously wrong. And believe you me, I share your disdain for the current climate of corruption in Naija churches. I have been gone a bit, which is why I will always defer to the superior informed knowledge and opinion of those on ground zero. This doesn't happen only in Naija self. See the lavish lifestyles of the likes of Benny Hinn, Creflo Dollar etc A friend of mine attended a Benny Hinn crusade a while back. She had tried to get me to come along but I cannot be caught dead in such gatherings. She came back saying how the entire thing was about money, donate this, contribute that, bless this, sow that. They said even the very hall they were using hadn't been paid for and people needed to donate to cover those costs I fear for our future because the gutter is coming into the streets. Please read an article I saw way back http://aderinola./2007/06/30/is-lagos-the-most-dangerous-city-in-the-world/ with particular note to the first two responses to the article then give a moral justification for this rot in the house of GodI will check it out . . . |
Vesc, I have always known you to be a wise man, and you have spoken wisely. Easter just passed. So I'm still in a celebratory mood. Since Christ came and died to forgive our sins, I will extend that same courtesy and will (very reluctantly) forgive the crimes of the likes of Brownjay and Shola. Go, and sin no more . . . or else ![]() Obinna, you berra conclude it before I run out of forgiveness. |
7 games until season's end. Now we go talk true I hope Boston stays firmly in 4th place and plays Miami in the 1st Rd. The only team that I know beyond doubt we have zero shot at beating is Atlanta, and even the Bucks make me nervous. I am not scared of Orlando or Cleveland. |
Backfire na understatement McNabb takes care of the ball and that always gives a team a shot, something they haven't had in Washington in Campbell. Why pity the guy? he is a sorry excuse for an NFL qb. oh and Kolb had better be the second coming of Brady or Manning or else philly fans will consume him alive and feed his bones to the vultures. |
bawomolo:The official story is they were doing him a favor as he didn't want to go to Oakland hehe . . . the real story is the Redskins probably offered them the best deal and they don't think McNabb will really be a threat in Washington. We go see. |
@InesQor, If/since you're that dude Mavenbox, then you've just earned my respect even though your et al's seem to love this peronality-id-matching game. i dislike it!.
I have been content to stay behind the scenes and allow these awesome fellas duke it out with you . . . until you mentioned the above. Dude. You had that other ID that both I and Kunle know about, don't make me expose your behind here and don't chastise InesQor for a crime you yourself have committed a few times. Now carry on. 1 Corinthians 9 The Rights of an Apostle 1Am I not free? Am I not an apostle? Have I not seen Jesus our Lord? Are you not the result of my work in the Lord? 2Even though I may not be an apostle to others, surely I am to you! For you are the seal of my apostleship in the Lord. 3This is my defense to those who sit in judgment on me. 4Don't we have the right to food and drink? 5Don't we have the right to take a believing wife along with us, as do the other apostles and the Lord's brothers and Cephas[a]? 6Or is it only I and Barnabas who must work for a living? 7Who serves as a soldier at his own expense? Who plants a vineyard and does not eat of its grapes? Who tends a flock and does not drink of the milk? 8Do I say this merely from a human point of view? Doesn't the Law say the same thing? 9For it is written in the Law of Moses: "Do not muzzle an ox while it is treading out the grain." Is it about oxen that God is concerned? 10Surely he says this for us, doesn't he? Yes, this was written for us, because when the plowman plows and the thresher threshes, they ought to do so in the hope of sharing in the harvest. 11If we have sown spiritual seed among you, is it too much if we reap a material harvest from you? 12If others have this right of support from you, shouldn't we have it all the more? But we did not use this right. On the contrary, we put up with anything rather than hinder the gospel of Christ. 13 Don't you know that those who work in the temple get their food from the temple, and those who serve at the altar share in what is offered on the altar? 14 In the same way, the Lord has commanded that those who preach the gospel should receive their living from the gospel. 15 But I have not used any of these rights. InesQor very nice post. But I will like you and Nuclearboy to do some justice to the above scripture. I believe there should be balance in all this. It may not be a "job" in the secular sense of the word, but the above scripture is clear God has intended some material blessing to go the way of those who tend the sheep. What say ye? |

eldee:Hehe . . . as if I will have a choice to stop watching semid4lyfe:Oh my bad I mistyped . . . I meant I hope that over ambitious secretary of HS Tim BURNS! I hope old man ethan doesn't die, but knowing 24, he probably will. |
lynxnoon:Yeah I don't think Cole is making it alive to the end of the season either. And to the doomsday prophets predicting Renee's death. If Renee does not end up happily married to Jack, walahi, I will stop watching 24 after this season ![]() |
I didn't really like it cos the concept has been done to death. Caucasian women captured and sold on Ebay to the highest bidder. Didn't you see that on Hostel 2? It was a BITTEN idea and thus TAKEN lacks originality. For that, i am rating it 53%.
Ehen now, we already know your style. If they do something different - no matter how wack the 'different' is, they will score high points in your card ![]() From someone who rated Vantage Point 95%, I have nothing else to add justkunmi:hmm JK, are those dots I'm seeing so? ![]() |
Lol @Doyin. And if my memory serves me right you shot down "City of God" as "mindless violence parading as social commentary" (men my brain/memory is sharp today ). TOH/Karma was recommending it. It was mindless violence, but I don't think it was parading at all oh. |
Yeah I think that's it, The Quiet American. spikedcylinder:Hehe, not too much. I like pretty much all genres and if a movie is going to be slow and mellow it had better blow away my mind since it cannot do so with firepower. It was a good movie - that's the point, it was just a good movie. The way Gayin was going on about it I had really high expectations that were not met. |
The captain has returned! uhm . . . minus his typing abilites. Did Seun take it away? |
Which reminds me . . . Doyin you were raving about this movie on some abstract thread a long while back - I forget the name now, about conflict in vietnam? I think? he married some local girl and was a smuggler who ended up getting killed, starring Brendan Frasier and Michael Caine. So I watched the movie and could not for the life of me figure out why you liked it so much ![]() |
bawomolo:Abegi jare, I can latch and release as I please flings are highly encouraged and the Thunder are currently the object of my affection. They rank up there in defense as well as offense, not to mention they are young and hungry, heck starving. Denver, LA, Mavs or Utah - you don't want to face these guys in the first round at all. and honestly I will be thrilled if the Celtics get past the second round, they just don't have the IT factor this year. |
viaro:Kai, one wrong lol. I know InesQor's not a newbie hence the dilemma, but I thought such a cool phrase could be attributed to him. |
nearest:The only scenario I see Dana talking is if Cole personally comes and she breaks down to him. I hope Ethan burns big time and joins president taylors daughter in prison, and I hope old man doesn't die from that heart attack. |
doyin13: spikedcylinder:I have nothing more to add ![]() |
Eziuche and Waleski - correct people. spikedcylinder:Unless you want him to be responsible for starting WW3. Spiked you self, where is your rating? lol Obinna, you have not corrected your typo yet ![]() |
vescucci:The fire had already started, I was just showing her where it was ![]() |
Lakers fans, ki lon shele? lol Men its hard not to like these Oklahoma Thunder guys. Though we lost to them last night it was a good game from both sides, these guys are impressive and I'm rooting for them to go deep in the post season. |

ttalks, long time how've you been? ttalks:Please help explain this to Noetic and Tonye. JeSoul: noetic16:wow. A salvation that actually requires physical works. I really have nothing else to add. Those reading can make up their minds for themselves from all that's already been said. |
spikedcylinder:Lol . . . one small problem, I already have a ring Review: Taken Where do I even start? Neeson a divorced, ex-CIA agent's daughter is abducted while travelling in france. Neeson's character shows the love of a father is a force of nature to be reckoned with, and when that love is coupled with skills "that make him a nightmare for people like" those who took his daughter - all hell breaks loose, and there is nowhere the takers can hide from his calculated fury. The movie kicks into full gear and launches it into another stratosphere when he receives a frantic phonecall from his daughter just as she was about to be taken. Using bits of her screams and the voice of the bad guy, he pieces together clues that lead him to an organized se.x slave ring. While on the phone, he makes a proposition to the perps to let his girl go and or "I will find you, and I will kill you" - to which the bad dude replies "good luck". His simple brilliance and systematic approach in following the trail is just gorgeous to watch - and very very believable. Not your usual James Bond film trick, but simple, yet complicated enough that the average joe would not have thought about it - this shows brilliant script-writing. And in beautiful fashion he makes good on the promise to kill the bad guy on the phone. Some will say some bits are predictable, and I guess in a sense you can say that because he finds his daughter in the end, but this should not be mistaken to be a negative. What else do we expect to happen? he finds her dead? Anyways, he makes his way to the captors, leaving in his wake a trail of dead bad guys and corrupt police who wished they never laid a hand on his baby girl. Climaxing in a car race scene that leads him leaping onto a luxury boat, he cuts down the armed foot soldiers, then the nasty big bad guy who bought his daughter, and finally is reunited with his traumatized girl. Brilliantly deadly acting - Fantastically written script - Cinematography on point - Key scenes such as the "phonecall" are just too dope. Overall, I rate 98% and God help anyone who rates this movie below 90% Obinna, correct that typo quick quick ![]() |

Ochlux:None at all brotha . Guess I lean closest in scriptural belief to the baptists. Thank you for your first reply, it was most direct and concise.i dnt think there is any thing u can say no 2 convince these peopie its just unsettling. I thought salvation was based on grace, received by faith - not works, lest any man can boast. Now we have those same works being equally attached to faith as an absolute necessity to be saved. Does anyone else see the irony? |
