My take on this is simple. I don't believe Obama believes a word of what he is saying. It is the politically correct thing to say/do, esp to improve our rep all around the world. Nuclear-free world? . . . lol, yeah right. |
manny4life:Maybe the FG will go about it the Massachusetts way. On our state tax returns, there is a section you have to fill in your health insurance information. And you must have been covered for at least 20 days I think and currently be covered as of filing. This is the key thing: there is an option to check that "if you didn't have health insurance, was it due to a deeply held religious belief or faith?" - if you check yes, you don't get penalized on your taxes. I am sure the FG will go this route and in effect defeat the legal challenges that many states are threatening. We'll see. |
^^ Tonye, it is well. Go with the wisdom and grace that comes from above. And we will be waiting to hear the good report soon .
Congrats
lol. Thanks. You already know you're 1000% responsible for this. |
Common now Chukwudi you know different. What water baptism did the thief on the cross next to Jesus go through? yet Jesus promised him he would be with Him together in paradise that day. The woman caught in adultery. Did Jesus tell her "go and be baptized in order to escape hell"? No. He simply said "go and sin no more". Water Baptism is a part of the faith, a symbolic act. It is by no means a requirement to be saved. |
Tonye! what's up dude? and wetin happen now? you don't post much anymore. Because the tithe battle has died down a bit? ![]() |
Walahi, MyJoe that response to Nuclearboy Some of us don't have attention spans that efficient enough lol. Lemme try . . . |

Fellas fellas, let us give these rookies at least 2 yrs in the league, then we go see who be the real deal and who be impostor.
@Na2day I don't understand his love affair with J.J Barea! He must be supplying Carlisle with some Puerto Rican mamichulas! They say he looks like Jim Carrey must he behave like him too? If only he got more playing time he woulda been competing with Tyreke Evans and Brandon Jennings for R.O.Y
That one na bold statement oh. There must be a good reason Carlisle hasn't played him as much. Don't be deceived by scoring outbursts , more offense I don't think is what the Mavs need hence no need to give him plenty play time. |
JK's still on exile. Lalaboi, yea its true he was banned for his style of writing. He will be touched to see all the love he's been shown here hehe. Obinna abeg carry the torch in his stead jare. I vote you. |

And no its not too gra-gra for me at all. And come self, how did Chiogo get a shout out on a track titled "NL boys"? Chiogo be like say you got connections oh. |
InesQor:My bad, I do know better. Here let me rephrase: JeSoul:There, that looks much better.
Hahaha my sister. How are you? Stay blessed.
Oga I am well , and as always, enjoying your entries. Please carry on! nuclearboy:Hehe . . . j, be a good sport and tell us your real ID. |
Hi InesQor. It is impossible that a biological anomaly will create or rather form a zygote without fertilization. Fertilization can happen invivo or in testubes. Fertilization can result from a fusion of egg and spermatozoa or by fertilization of an ex-nucleated egg with a somatic "gamete" (cloning). I do not believe that Jesus was not procreated physically. Besides, I do not see any reason why Jesus has to be born without procreation, afterall, it is God that decreed procreation as a method for propagating the human species. Best wishes.
And a Scientist, a very good one at that, has spoken ![]() |
nuclearboy:Hehe, yes oh, friday. This ablution self, too much wahala, can I just give alms? ![]() The Virgin birth is an anomaly just as creation and evolution are anomalies. Prove either of these "scientifically" i.e. wth evidence of it being repeatable and observable and I'll send you proof of the virgin birth.Hehe . . . this one na easy way out now. Sweat small . . . how can Jesus walk on water? the law of ![]() BTW, I never get experience reach to call myself your twin. As we say, no matter how fast the hells run, they'll always find the toes out in front. Salutee!Yeah right. The ones who are most gracious are usually guilty of greatness. I mean just look at InesQor! ![]() |
InesQor:I will go one step further and say that they are! but we (and the Word) don't call them or view them as anomalies - which are usually random occurences and usually without purpose or reason. Different from miracles imo. Purposed, designed, ordered, defined and executed onto a specific end and for a specific reason.InesQor:hehe, neither do I. The shortcomings of "scientific research" are evidenced on the daily. Look no further than the adamant atheist who declares there is no God ![]() |
InesQor:Yeah, there are anomalies all around us - biologically, geologically, scientifically etc . . . I was trying to make a point that "reality" does not leave room for the miraculous, and the miraculous is a huge component of the bible. |
Fantastic exchange fellas. Nuclear, we might as well be twins, you have responded as I would have. Its friday. I wanna play devil's advocate: nuclearboy:What about the "Virgin Birth"? all of reality asserts that it is impossible for a woman to get pregnant without having gotten busy. Unless they had artificial insemination back in the day . . . |
@JeSoul, And my premium did not go up by 30% even though I do not have a public option inusrance as you do in MA. The point is there are other very reasonable way top deal with skyrocketing prices that were ignored. I will details some of these as I am chanced.
This I think is the heart of the whole matter . . . Do you know that govt mandates is part of the reason why we have these balloning prices? Do you realise that I would have opted for a less expensive coverage if it was avaialable? I have to maintain the one I have because the insurance companies were mandated to provide some minimum coverage which is a waste as far as I am concerned. I can't intelligently choose some options because someone in Washington or St Paul has decided I must have and pay for something I do not need.Very good point. This is one huge problem with our system in Mass. You get coverage thru the "public option", it has to meet the standards of "sufficient insurance" that the govt sets or else we suffer hefty tax penalties. It makes no sense. I couldn't afford the cost in the first place yet you're going to tax me for not having it? As for the option to pick which kinds of coverage you want being more practical, I am with you 1000%. I have discussed that very point with David before. I pay 100% out of pocket for all my optometry needs and I am fine with that. Rather than paying an additional $800 a month only to use only 10% of it in reality. Tayo what is your take on the burden of illegal immigrants? how should the govt. handle issue of them using ER for practically free of charge and sometimes even as their primary care? |
alicianna:Thanks! Your info has been very enlightening ![]() |

alicianna quick question about the Canadian system as you're the resident expert here ![]() alicianna:So does this mean in essence you have 2 insurance policies? one public that covers the basic stuff, one private if you want to buy at extra cost that covers everything else? Privately -run Clinics - Same as the above (everything the govt doesnt cover) Same rules and services apply as the public , so this means that just because you have the money doesnt mean that you'll skip waiting timesSo does this simply mean that this classification of clinics are "nicer", better location/access, have better doctors, better equipment etc? cos not all hospitals are made equal. |
not true, unless you have evidence they changed the laws.
I was just about to un-fact that. lol. alicianna:I like summary of points you made in your first post, gives a good overall look at the Canadian system. Just a few comments on your entry above. alicianna:Uhm vast majority? America has 300 million people. The HC bill made provisions to include the 30-35 million of Americans who couldn't afford. 30million out of 300 million, that is hardly a "vast majority". Fact: In the U.S , if you're an illegal immigrant and you have no money, you CANNOT just walk into the emergency room and get treatment.Very very wrong. Illegal immigrants can walk into practically most ERs and get treatment. Additionally illegals can take part and receive many govt. programs. This is part of the reason California is going broke, they have so many illegals putting the strain on the system. Please google this. Fact: In Canada, if you're an illegal immigrant, with or without money, YOU CAN.This may be easy for Canada to afford, why? because Canada has what? 50,000 to 100,000 illegal aliens? that does not make up a sizeable portion of the population. Now contrast that with 20 million est illegal aliens in America. Now you see why its not so easy to be generous and include them for free in the HC bill. Another fact you seem to forget is that in Canada, we have it all. Read up on my last post. If you've got the money and you dont want to wait, there are places for you to go and be seen right away. I think that it's great that atleast with or without a job we get aleast the basic coverage in health care and yes it is true that we pay for it through taxes but so what? Nothing is free in life.Well there are certainly tremendous benefits to that system, no lie. The one thing people are forgetting is that Canada is not America - geographically, economically, traditionally and esp population-wise etc. You cannot take one model, superimpose it on a much larger scale and expect it to reproduce the same results. |
OLAADEGBU:I took some time to surf a few articles on that link - I have seen those arguments before and there is nothing new. And frankly most of it is much ado about nothing. I don't want to go off on another tangent so I'll just leave it at that. |
To reiterate Krayola's point - it comes down to the situation. What may be appropriate in one, may not be in another, and in yet another there may not be a clear choice that seems right. InesQor:InesQor, I echo tpia's sentiment. Which kin kwesion be this now? The two may be very very distantly related by law but no they are not the same at all. You might as well have asked "Instead of Jesus spending all that time drinking and eating and hanging out with tax collectors and ex-prostitutes, He could've spent his time and powers healing all the sick people in Jerusalem and beyond" . . . you catch my drift? |
@agathamari, Question. What do you think will happen if new legislation forces other insurance companies to cover pre-existing conditions? Imagine if I go to buy life insurance for my dead grandma after the fact? What do you think the economic response will be if anyone can go by car insurance after they have had an accident? Prices are going up, up and up! This is an economic reality that has eluded Dems and those who support them. Biden said this Bill was a f**king deal. He is right. We have all been f**ked!!! I think democrats have a strong argument in that regards. Its not like we have control over prices and costs now, they've been rising steadily every year. What remains to be seen is whether or not this bill will slow the pace or increase it. See as all these bullies are harassing Platinumnk. True she may not have communicated some of her arguements well but anyone who's been paying attention to the national debate should know what she's objecting to and why. Anyone claiming the opposition does not have valid arguments against HC reform is simply drinking too much obama kool aid. |
Chic2 and my girl Chiogo, I am well ![]() chic2pimp:I gotta go with Steve Nash. I have very vivid memories of Kidd terrorizing the east while he was with NJ. They made an ECF or two and were very strong with him at the helm. He used to be a triple double machine, but he has not played at the same high level as Nash has all through his career - this seperates them. Nash is just special. He has been playing at the same incredibly high level with the teams he's played on, that is very difficult to do. He is very consistent, hardly injured, and almost always makes a noticeable impact on the game. Not to mention the MVP trophies he has in his closet. SN def has the upper hand over JK. Definitely. |

MyJoe:Forget Sierra Mist, this is so refreshing, infact it should be bottled up, labelled in the dopest font available, the nutrition contents should read "100% Awesome", then shipped out all around to world to both religious and non-religious alike. And if you think I am flattering you, think in reverse. "I don't know" is the one phrase we all should use most often. What I do know is that folks I know who say God speaks to them always relate what it is they wanted to hear, or what those whom God does not speak to, would have figured out in seconds on their own.I have one issue with the above and it is highlighted. I am also aware that my level of disagreement on Bible points with Christian A is often about the same as that between Christian B and Christian C. Now, I am one of those the Holy Spirit has never interpreted the Bible to. And I am not here about questioning whether or not all the miracles in the Bible took place, as I have no proof that they did not. It is my view that if the historicity of the Bible is false, it follows that the Bible, or that part of it, is not the inerrant word of God whom nuclearboy has reminded us is all-powerful. If there are interpolations, it does not void the authenticity of the entire Bible but brings “Biblical Inerrancy” under the spotlight. That is a perfectly logical way of approaching the issue, perfectly logical. However, I must defer to Nuclearboy's position, it wouldn't matter if it were discovered tomorrow that the bible was written in a cave, underneath a well, buried in a mountain by Swedish-Yoruba-Asians who were descendants of American Indians from Yaba in California. It wouldn't matter. Because to a christian, its authenticity is not based on tangible proof that can be acquired and verified by independent sources, but rather its the actual words themselves, it is the text itself, the power in the words therein, they have jumped off the pages and become real in our lives - that is our logical proof for accepting it independent of historical evidence - whether they compliment or stand in opposition to it. And the man who chooses not to accept it because he hasn't experienced that power is also acting logically himself. Which is why the assertion combatively made by noetic16 that the Bible is meant for the elect and the unsaved have no business exploring it must be seen for what it is: a fundamentalist brand of neo-Calvinism which will find more resonance among the draftsmen of the discredited apartheid system than in biblical Christianity. While the book of Ezekiel had messages for Oholah and Oholiah (Jerusalem and Samaria) at the height of their “prostitution”, Jonah’s message was addressed to the “unsaved” people of Nineveh. (The concept of “saved” and “unsaved” as used here is not biblical, but that is another matter.) Paul, who is credited with the spread of Christianity, along with his companion Silas, used the scriptures extensively in his ministry. The weight placed on the scriptures as authority is demonstrated by their activities among the Beroeans. I have already cited Luke. The Ethiopian Eunuch was helped with the aid of the scriptures to accept Christianity. When rebuking Satan, the Pharisees and other contrarians, Jesus told them “it is written”, not “the Spirit told me”. Those who converted to Christianity in the first century did because they had read of the coming of the Messiah in the Hebrew Scriptures. Nobody ever went around in their mission to reach the “unsaved” with the good news citing the Holy Spirit. That is why Christians have been spending millions producing copies of the Bible and distributing them to the “unsaved” far and wide.I pretty much agree with you here. I can only assume Noetic mis-spoke or meant to assert otherwise? Noetic forgive me if you've already cleared this up in subsequent posts. And like Krayola has pointed out, the opposition to scholarship is often based on the wrong premises. I am questioning the Bible, and not the lost books of eden, because of the value I attach to it. Moreover, there is some hypocrisy involved. There are countless events in the Bible that have been attested to by archaeology and science and many Christians cite these. Many developed their respect for the Bible through examination of some of these. When the converse is shown, the honest thing is to examine them.Yes indeed it will be the honest thing - for those who first accepted it based on its correlation with archeaological findings. For someone like me (who happens to actually fancy archeaology) *shrugs her shoulders* it really makes no difference. And I hope you find that to be an honest position. If there is any book which ought to be questioned, therefore, it is the Bible. That is not to say, God will judge people on whether or not they accept Biblical inerrancy. To be sure, the Bible is a good book. I think its moral values are sound for the most part. To rephrase the undying words of Mohandas Ghandi, if we live by its precepts, we may just have solved half of our problems. You know, I think you would be suprised, many of us would be, if we really knew how many christians have questioned and are questioning the bible. I am one. I come across verses and stories that leave me scratching my head, leave me sliding back and forth on the entire length of the emotional spectrum, ranging from confusion, to bewilderment, to fear, to disbelief and yes even anger sometimes. But there is this thing, an intangible, incommunicable element that reassures me (and I'm sure other believers) that inspite of the fact complete understanding escapes my limited faculties, I can still wholeheartedly trust it, and that what is hidden from us now, will be made manifest someday. I guess the element is faith, working in collaboration with the Holy Spirit. I hope alla dat ^^^ makes some sense. |
MyJoe:Yeah you're right, it says something to the effect of "one in the field, one in bed taken". Quite unsure it doesn't matter, seeing as it has muddled up things for OLA.Hehe . . . allow the guy now. He wants to view that verse as relative evidence of the bible insinuating the spherical nature of the earth - however anecdotal that evidence might be ![]() If you remove that verse (36) from Luke, that portion of the Bible suddenly becomes harmless to OLA. Minus verse 36 might appear to mean that Luke reports night while Matthew reports day, which some might consider contradictory. By adding 36, someone was transporting something from Matthew to Luke to form a sham synthesis. That person was being dishonest, to say the least.Lol, not necessarily dishonest imo, but probably just a harmless omission that does not add nor subtract from the message. |
