Havard, Harvad or HarvardAmen, Amen and AMEN!! ![]() Apparently, he's been leaking his secrets to Rondo (or perhaps they mutually decided to play flop-tag and twas Rondo's turn in the game 7sNot quite to Rondo, more like he borrowed Derrick Rose's playbook and is devouring it ferociously. Rondo didn't get more of the triple dip but he didn't stink out the joint like this other fella I know Magic fans prepare to be washed, wrung & hung out to dry by Cleveland! lol |
Moonstone:Reserve my space on the bandwagon jare I didn't expect the Celtics to even make it this far so no let down there. Besides I have been saying I don't want us to be the ones Cleveland embarrasses. Orlando is not a strong team. They live and die by the 3pt shot and it happened to be falling like mad yesterday. When they face a very good defensive Cleveland so many of their deficiencies will be exposed. Thanks girl! Make what mark on Corporate America? As I'm typing this - I'm waiting for my flight to Lagos. Myself and America don't mix very well. For now, I need to get my head rooted before working for anyone. I just need time to get myself ready for the work experience.Men I am jealous it seems people all around me are going home every second. Enjoy urself o jare and make sure you stop in to say hi to us |
A-40, let him read it well well. Bynum is on a I-show-up-every-3-4 games-schedule where was all that gra-gra in game 6? lol Moonstone, CONGRATS!!! I'm sure you're ready to make ur mark on corporate america . Chiogo, na you biko! valedictorian! very nice girl. Continue that shine sista, they ain't seen nuthin yet btw, which college r u looking at? |
Anybody watching the game? Orlando ate their vegetables today, the 3pt shooting is the difference. This is a strange feeling . . . to be silently hoping for a quiet, dignified loss lol. LeBron vs Kobe is written in the stars. |
No problemo!! If Cuban signs him for just 1 maybe 2-yr deal that would be fine, but as for a long term contract I don't think the mavs should commit to that. Green has always been all fluff and no substance, Ainge was good to rid Boston of him. I do think Barea is ready to be a starter. No player can develop into that role until he's given the chance to gain experience and from the little we've seen of Barea I'd say he's got mad potential. Lakers couldn't close it out - I hope no one is suprised. Game 7s are dangerous . . . anything can happen and the Laker bench are not earning their paychecks at all. Gasoft continues to let smaller people bully him in the paint, Hayes is playing like a top 10 draft pick lol and Brooks is just ![]() |
spikedcylinder:lol . . . I know exactly what you mean, I finished the movie on my 3rd attempt . After about 15 mins I was like okay . . . next . . . I looked at the total time and it was only about 1.5 hrs and decided to just tough it out. Its a cute movie though but sawrry Max & Vesc.vescucci:lol, no we haven't, we just need to be awed by something that's actually awesome ![]() vescucci:I do that every night brotha, every night. I dunno if there's any real secret, I just really and honestly enjoy being with him and spending time with him. We're so opposite in personality, I guess it balances out lol. I'm good at reading pple i knew he was genuine from the start unlike the prior players who thot they could play but instead got played ![]() back to the regularly scheduled program . . . ![]() A few Free Agents that need sorting out: Bass,Singleton,Kidd,Green, (we need to get rid of that lazy ass) George (Ope ooh!!!)ROTFLOL . . . A-40 you won't kill me with laughter I think Kidd and Green are def gone. But I see Cuban retaining Bass, he has some potential if he pulls up on his bootstraps and gets dirty. Overall I would say the Mavs season enede better than feared, from almost missing the playoffs to making it to the 2nd rd, Cuban can't be too mad. |

No2Atheism:yes sir anyways how u dey my brotha? @topicAnd I think these discussions are great for both sides to air their viewpoints. But so much of the religion forum is anything but "healthy discussion" and both sides are guilty not just the atheists. There are some cool ones, but unfortunately most of them don't post often. To me most of the posts in this section are only good for one thing: to be ignored. |
humblesoul:A very pertinent fact that many of our atheist brethren here on NL refuse to acknowledge. There is so much good that is done in the name of religion whether christian or muslim YET most of the atheists here only choose to focus on the bad and paint all religious people with the same tainted brush. |
manmustwac: you certainly don't have a problem. And since you read the contents of that thread I'm sure you must have understood it was directed at the atheists who participated heavily in the religion forum. You're misrepresenting the contents of that thread and my motive behind it. Any intrested NLders can peep it here https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-159225.0.html |

I probably would support a team if I lived in a city/town with one. I had arguably the worst 3 days of my life in that city but I did enjoy an incredibly good tasting meal at the Sbarros at the large expensive mall (which kin super duper hat costs $975 bucks?, i forget the name now).
Jeez i can't believe the Celts still won i stopped watching while the Magic where up 14!! at this point i am not sure i have the balls to doubt the Celts anymore the Magic simply do not know how to close out games and it seems the mental strength of the Celts have been under-rated for way too long
I have learned never to turn off games since game 4 of the 2004 RedSox - Yankees playoff game @drUche.Godtell him dude! Celtics are capable of winning at least 2 games, at home. Pierce and Allen cannot allow a sweep, that would be embarrasing lol.@JesoulStranger things have happened oh my brotha, real talk. At some point they'll need to go and rent or lease an inside offensive game. I go try lol, but what is my penance?lol gimme a minute to think on that, I shall be back ![]() but Oden and Kwame Brown both still grew into solid players. SOLIDLY ROOTED ON THE BENCHouch! that was a low blow brotha, low blow lolI tend to lust after single players not whole teamswow this is a man who does not play with his nba! I salute you with serious kudos lol. Man without a team, it has it advantages, you root for no one you don't get disappointed Kobe vs LeBron would be an epic finals, even I would pay to see that and barring any freak injuries it will probably happen . . . I'm sure David Stern n the refs will see to it ![]() |
ThiefOfHearts:imho . . . NO! vescucci:I can't. Robots don't have emotions, that's one of the fundamental truths & principles governing the foundation of the enitre technological universe seeing two robots romancing both who look entirely different by the way just doesn't sit well somewhere inside me, it bothered me the whole movie! lol Nice story but the 'fiction' is too out there for even this x-files enthusiast ![]() |
ThiefOfHearts:lol . . . yes master! |
bawomolo:hehe I should expect nuthin less. Along with Onyinye too ![]() The magic deserve to lose. Why do they refuse to give the ball to dwight howard? This series would still go 7 games though.I thot I was the only one wondering. I heard something like he took only 10 fga
OMG!!! i am tempting Jesu
You are forgiven. Go and sin no more ![]() LOLL, I heard a lot of sh*@ goes down in the said mountains of Utah but still, how can you compare the last few, dreary, drudgy, pointless games in the regular season to the intensity of the playoffsEhen now. So it is settled Bynum apparently has not been ready to step up to the level needed in the playoffs, what makes us think then he woulda been able to do so last yr with even less experience? I don't doubt he will grow into a solid player I doubt Oden will but hallucinators should refrain from ascribing to him the status reserved for tried & proven players who have shown in the past their presense is series-altering. LAKERS-CAVS FINALS BABY!!!Come self which one be your team? You be Laker slave or Cavalier zombie? I will enjoy my fling with the Cavs during the finals, after that the stand is over and back to my men in green. |
Moonstone: . . . issookay, Lebron is due for his first championship anyways. I will be angry during the series but root for him the rest of the way.
Pretty plizz, I asked for fuzzy theories not misrepresentations. I never insinuated Bynum was STILL injured. Here's what I actually did say, (Key words is BACK), and not that he's still injured. However, he is still yet to hit his stride with the team. Everyone and their (your choice of relative), including Bynum himself acknowledges his problem is not physical but mental, so puhh-leeasse, reach further into your bag of theorems and let's have something more creative .
you're tempting me mr d-to-tha-u-to-tha-G ![]() lol, dude you're talking in circles. Whether it be physics or philosophy he has still played badly - bottomline. He played fantastic in the 4 last reg season games, he seemed better than fine . . . guess he conveinently developed the mental problems somewhere in the mountains of Utah? I am certain you are a mischievous fella in the image of a certain Rikkyjen (where's his indiana behind btw?) Come back with ur bynum in a month and I'll re-evaluate his status in the finals ![]() |
vescucci:Tell the truth and shame the devil you like mr Smith
WALL-E was the best thing I saw last year. I think you thought you were watching an ordinary animated feature. It's much, much, much more. It won many many awards, sometimes tying for Best Picture with Slumdog Millionaire. There were several attempts to get it nominated for Best Picture at the Oscars. It was nominated for six oscars in total. For me, it's raised the standard for animated features. It's Pixar's best, and they simply cannot top this one.
Yeah I def heard all the acclaim which is why I put it on my list of pictures to see. Different strokes . . . it just didn't really do "it" for me. I liked it but I wasn't swept off my feet btw i'm just getting around to 3:10 now, I'll report when done |
Looks like Mr. Phil J "over-adjusted" his team strategy and the Lakers thus over-did what we all expected them to do (Blast the Rockets firmly into Orbit, alongside Shuttle Atlantis ) As an aside, Andrew "all-in-my-head" Bynum (NFL ankle brace and all) did put up more points at half-time than Rajon "Lord-of-the-Rims" Rondo did in his entire game for some fuzzy theories on why the above stats should be completely ignored (YAAAAAWWWWN!)
Missed the game but I'm sure Bynum has a nairaland ID and has been reading my disses and decided to finally show up . But one good game does not cover a multitude of sins shey the injury is gone abi? . . . that is until the next time he plays like a bum? re-submit your application when the Lakers are in the finals, lets see if he's anything to write home about. And one sin does not erase a multitude of good deeds. Rondo still be the man. We are rotating players time to shine, it was Starbury last night (finally!)Moonstone:This na correct girl for hia Honestly I fear for the Celtics to even win the series . . . Cleveland dey fear me no be small but I bet the Celtics organization won't mind, more games = more tickets = more money. |
First things first: HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHIOGO!!! I wish you the very best 17 of all existing 17's I wish you everything your heart dreams I wish you grace and strength to survive the hard times I wish you 50% offs and jollof rice but above all I just wish you much joy all the days of your life! |
bawomolo:ROTFLOL . . . it is def just you . Like Barkley said "I may be wrong, but I doubt it" ![]() chiogo:Don't play oh I will indeed show up ![]() He already did apologizeoh okay didn't know that. |
ThiefOfHearts:For real. I guess many parts of the world are like that. I wonder, did the movie do much to change things there? I know all that Slumdog hoopla hasn't translated into real actions to better those peoples lives. Yeah Benny's death was real sad. When Blacky went to tell Carrot he thought he'd killed Benny, Carrot replies "you killed the coolest hoodlum in the city" and bang shoots him dead |
chiogo:hehe lol happy pre-birthday gurl! where's the party in Beantown? I can be there in a jiff.LOL, why is the man with the 12-yr old boy tripping? Well, Big baby did the right thing by granting his son the so-called apology. Everybody wants to be popular these days, pulling 'em stunts.and that's the simple truth. People get their drinks spilled on them, their pizza smashed on their faces when players dive into the stands for a rebound, we haven't seen any of them demanding apologies. Bigbaby should apologize sha for peace sake and becos it was a kid, he will look good if he does it. |
BLAHH! Once again, I'm not sure where you getting your facts but they appear pretty inaccurate. Bynum has started just 4games and has seldom commited more than 3fouls per game (averaging 3.xx per game). Now, how close that gets you to foul trouble is anyone's guess. BTW, the real reason he's not playing is because he came back from injury a few games to the end of the season and has not gotten back into the rhythm of the team, according to his coach (who I assume is more knowledgeable than any of us on this matter). OH? but you did allege that Bynum's stats show he would have been a non-factor in last year's finals. Two words, Not (exactly) true. That's my own (simpler) point. Kachifo
Homeboy I am not alleging, I definitely saying! ![]() I'm assuming you watched the games, Bynum picks up quick fouls early, Phil sits him down, puts him back in 3rd Q, dude fouls again, doesn't contribute much to either offense or defense and Phil sits him for the rest of the game. Why again has he started just 4 games? becos he's playing horribly in the postseason. The "injury" card has been overplayed jor. If "the real reason" he's playing so badly was the injury how come he played so well in the last 4 games he played in the regular season? i even told lai he would struggle and was proven wrong when he didn't wasn't he averaging close to 20pts and 60% shooting? how come now he's playing bad it is the injury? highly suspect I tell ya, highly suspect. ![]() |
Chrisbenogor:In the midst of nothingness a wise man has spoken. |
Still. You should be comparing last year's Celtics not to the Lakers but to the Cavs, with whom they actually have more in common (Regular season's best record and MVP, with about the same number of wins as well). They also swept the Hawks last regular season before meeting them in the playoffs, so what's this strawman counter-argument about the Celts struggling against athletic teams??. Rather than trying to explain away the Cavs sepctacular performance with team dynamics, i'll suggest (again) the simple fact that the Celts were much more spectacular during the regular season than they were in the playoffs (Cf. the CAVS, who are playing like true champs to me). And as for who ('08 Celts or Cavs) actually had the better match up vs the Hawks, i'll let y'all decide,
when was this point a bone of contention? ![]() You're making my simple slice into a loaf of bread. Bottomline: Lakers are not playing like champs, Celtics struggled last year but were never blown out by a team missing its 2 major stars and minimal contribution from its best player on the floor. Shikena. well, everyone and their grandmas (and grandmas' live-in boyfriends) know and expect this, soSo that is all I'm saying, simple. Oh, and those Bymum's stats you were touting as vindication for his insignificance certainly pale next to the confounding statistic you (ostensibly) omitted - he's averaging 13 mins per game. Only Farmar and Josh Powell (, who?) are averaging less time per game in the entire Lakers team. Now, those stats sure look less gawk-worthy, dont you concur?? Even Rondo, (your idol) would look less "awesome" with so much time on the benchLol . . . and why exactly is he averaging only 13 mins? becos he gets into foul trouble and cannot stay on the floor another negative that surely wasn't omitted out of mishief not becos Phil Jackson suddenly decided he doesn't like to play him. Its a no-brainer, less minutes less stats, who's arguing that? But I don't think anyone can argue Bynum has flat out sucked this postseason. Again that's my simple point. |
