Apparently, he's been leaking his secrets to Rondo (or perhaps they mutually decided to play flop-tag and twas Rondo's turn in the game 7s grin). Oh where's a 3ple double when U need 1 sad, LOL
Not quite to Rondo, more like he borrowed Derrick Rose's playbook  cool and is devouring it ferociously. Rondo didn't get more of the triple dip but he didn't stink out the joint like this other fella I know  cheesy

I just saw the scores and I have to say Sorry to my dear Celt-girls. Don't worry - we were not expecting either of our teams (except Lakers) to make it far into the finals. Now can everyone start helping me support Cavs? cheesy cheesy
Reserve my space on the bandwagon jare smiley I didn't expect the Celtics to even make it this far so no let down there. Besides I have been saying I don't want us to be the ones Cleveland embarrasses.

Orlando is not a strong team. They live and die by the 3pt shot and it happened to be falling like mad yesterday. When they face a very good defensive Cleveland so many of their deficiencies will be exposed.

Thanks girl! Make what mark on Corporate America? As I'm typing this - I'm waiting for my flight to Lagos. Myself and America don't mix very well. For now, I need to get my head rooted before working for anyone. I just need time to get myself ready for the work experience. cheesy :DLOL!

Anybody watching the game? Orlando ate their vegetables today, the 3pt shooting is the difference.

This is a strange feeling . . . to be silently hoping for a quiet, dignified loss lol. LeBron vs Kobe is written in the stars.

Another femme fatale in the building grin
hehe you best believe it  cool I proof-read the book on playa-ism

Kidd i don't know he kinda improved late in the season but he is 36 how many more years does he still have left in him?? as for Green he is simply not NBA quality i look at people like him and i wonder why i didn't take Basketball seriously

We just need a few more productive players!! lets do away with duds like Dampier,Green,George and Carroll

Go for another PG if Kidd is going because i am not sure Barea is ready yet
And that's the biggest problem. If Cuban signs him for just 1 maybe 2-yr deal that would be fine, but as for a long term contract I don't think the mavs should commit to that. Green has always been all fluff and no substance, Ainge was good to rid Boston of him.

I do think Barea is ready to be a starter. No player can develop into that role until he's given the chance to gain experience and from the little we've seen of Barea I'd say he's got mad potential.

Lakers couldn't close it out - I hope no one is suprised. Game 7s are dangerous . . . anything can happen and the Laker bench are not earning their paychecks at all. Gasoft continues to let smaller people bully him in the paint, Hayes is playing like a top 10 draft pick lol and Brooks is just  shocked. But Ariza is a major bright spot, kid has good future ahead. Sunday will be a lotta fun. I want the C's to win, half-heartedly . . . I don't want us to be the ones Cleveland unleashes their fury on  lipsrsealed

I really liked that Fingerlicking gig. On seeing the place from the outside, my initial instinct was to 180 and bolt, but i'm glad i didnt. It had the feel of a typical Naija Buka (i even swatted at a few flies) but the food was actually good and not pricey at all (I had Isi-Ewu and Pounded yam/Egusi! hehehe). They even had the shayo holy trinity (Gulder/Star/Palmy). Will surely be BACK!
ROTFLOL . . . hilarious cheesy Out here we don't really have african spots, and if we did and there were flies someone woulda called the health dept by now grin

@JeSoul
the place of which you speak should be the Galleria in downtown houston (unless of course, Houston is replete with over-priced malls). Things dear for that place no be small. Trudged along with my sis earlier in the week for some pre-graduation shopping and I saw a leather jacket for 3000 bucks shocked. I asked the clerk if wearing it would make me invisible. He replied that it would depend on what else i was wearing. LOL. He obviously didn't get the joke.
Yep that's it. lol $3000 jacket kpe kini?. . . the prices in there ehn shocked the only thing I could afford was food lol. The rest na to watch the kids skating and window shop.
My big sis taught me an all important lesson when I was 7yrs. We were walking past a beauty salon and the price to get hair done was 3x as much as she usually paid. I said "wow, only rich people must go there". My sis looked at me and shook her head and said "No, only stupid people go there" smiley I never forgot and never overpay for anything.

Atheists are humans they are not aliens hence they also feel the need to be right, and unfortunately since no one can prove or disprove the existence of a Creator the only way they can have peace of mind is by "proactively" trying to engage people in discussions so that those people would try to give them an evidence of the existence or non existence of a Creator.
Hence the best way to inflict pain on atheists is to ignore them, cus that way they would never be able to justify themselves or their reasoning. Atheists need an audience, just make sure you don't give them one.
And I think these discussions are great for both sides to air their viewpoints. But so much of the religion forum is anything but "healthy discussion" and both sides are guilty not just the atheists. There are some cool ones, but unfortunately most of them don't post often. To me most of the posts in this section are only good for one thing: to be ignored.

i understand how you feel about religion, as u said religion has caused a lot of problems and has given a lot of people excuses but you have to admit there are good muslims, christians, hindus, buhdists etc out there who just go about their normal lives without bugging anyone, and a lot of people also find peace and love in their hearts thru religion!!!
A very pertinent fact that many of our atheist brethren here on NL refuse to acknowledge. There is so much good that is done in the name of religion whether christian or muslim YET most of the atheists here only choose to focus on the bad and paint all religious people with the same tainted brush.

I never used to bother with the religious section until i came across a topic by JeSoul called The Problem With The Atheist which to me was a bloody insult to my intelligence coz as far as am concerned i don't have a problem. But that topic made me realise that the reason why nigeria is not progressing is because of RELIGION.

The masses {or millions} will rather go to those big massive prayer conventions and pray for wealth health jobs etc. They think that an invisible man is going to come from the sky to solve thier problems. When instead the millions should just march down to Aso Rock and demand change. If change donsen't come then they should riot. Even if 50 or 100 of them get shot or killed its better you die for a cause instead of fighting the Hausas.
smiley you certainly don't have a problem. And since you read the contents of that thread I'm sure you must have understood it was directed at the atheists who participated heavily in the religion forum. You're misrepresenting the contents of that thread and my motive behind it. Any intrested NLders can peep it here   https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-159225.0.html

Ehen now. So it is settled Bynum apparently has not been ready to step up to the level needed in the playoffs, what makes us think then he woulda been able to do so last yr with even less experience?

I don't doubt he will grow into a solid player I doubt Oden will but hallucinators should refrain from ascribing to him the status reserved for tried & proven players who have shown in the past their presense is series-altering.
Looks like Mr. Phil J "over-adjusted" his team strategy and the Lakers thus over-did what we all expected them to do (Blast the Rockets firmly into Orbit, alongside Shuttle Atlantis grin)

As an aside, Andrew "all-in-my-head" Bynum (NFL ankle brace and all) did put up more points at half-time than Rajon "Lord-of-the-Rims" Rondo did in his entire game shocked. Looks like 'whipping bwoy' and 'Lover Bwoy' are about to switch roles. But first, i'll defer to Lady Rondo tongue for some fuzzy theories on why the above stats should be completely ignored (YAAAAAWWWWN!) cool
Missed the game but I'm sure Bynum has a nairaland ID and has been reading my disses and decided to finally show up tongue. But one good game does not cover a multitude of sins cool shey the injury is gone abi? . . . that is until the next time he plays like a bum? grin
re-submit your application when the Lakers are in the finals, lets see if he's anything to write home about.

And one sin does not erase a multitude of good deeds. Rondo still be the man. We are rotating players time to shine, it was Starbury last night cheesy (finally!)

Moonstone:
Bynum was good - no doubt but that does not mean he's consistent, it was one of his good nights. Rondo is good jare. . . Stop hating on my darling's team mate. I hope Celts beat Orlando though. If that happens, I know my boys have a chance at the final. Orlando on the other hand can kill Cavs defensively.
This na correct girl for hia cheesy
Honestly I fear for the Celtics to even win the series . . . Cleveland dey fear me no be small embarassed but I bet the Celtics organization won't mind, more games = more tickets = more money.

kiss Glad you loved it, dear

I remember first I first watched it and I was like this guy (the director) is soooo Tarintino ie The Story of Blackie's Room and such
I love the beginning with the chicken. Lmao so Naija grin
The scene with the kid, man I didnt think it would ever get that far but it did and I cant be mad at it cos well that's life in the flavas. Like he said you get the pretty Rio on postcards and on the media but keep places like Cidade de Deus in the shadows.

Benny made me teary eyed cry
For real. I guess many parts of the world are like that. I wonder, did the movie do much to change things there? I know all that Slumdog hoopla hasn't translated into real actions to better those peoples lives.

Yeah Benny's death was real sad. When Blacky went to tell Carrot he thought he'd killed Benny, Carrot replies "you killed the coolest hoodlum in the city" and bang shoots him dead shocked I mean I know its a movie but the ease and frequency with which kids and people were killed was just shocking, the naive part of me would like to believe it does not happen in reality.

Anywayz, I concur with whatever Jesoul says. cool
hehe lol grin happy pre-birthday gurl! where's the party in Beantown? I can be there in a jiff.

LOL, why is the man with the 12-yr old boy tripping? Well, Big baby did the right thing by granting his son the so-called apology. Everybody wants to be popular these days, pulling 'em stunts.
and that's the simple truth. People get their drinks spilled on them, their pizza smashed on their faces when players dive into the stands for a rebound, we haven't seen any of them demanding apologies. Bigbaby should apologize sha for peace sake and becos it was a kid, he will look good if he does it.
BLAHH! Once again, I'm not sure where you getting your facts but they appear pretty inaccurate. Bynum has started just 4games and has seldom commited more than 3fouls per game (averaging 3.xx per game). Now, how close that gets you to foul trouble is anyone's guess. BTW, the real reason he's not playing is because he came back from injury a few games to the end of the season and has not gotten back into the rhythm of the team, according to his coach (who I assume is more knowledgeable than any of us on this matter).
OH? but you did allege that Bynum's stats show he would have been a non-factor in last year's finals. Two words, Not (exactly) true. That's my own (simpler) point. Kachifo grin
Homeboy I am not alleging, I definitely saying!  cool
I'm assuming you watched the games, Bynum picks up quick fouls early, Phil sits him down, puts him back in 3rd Q, dude fouls again, doesn't contribute much to either offense or defense and Phil sits him for the rest of the game.

Why again has he started just 4 games? becos he's playing horribly in the postseason. The "injury" card has been overplayed jor.
If "the real reason" he's playing so badly was the injury how come he played so well in the last 4 games he played in the regular season? i even told lai he would struggle and was proven wrong when he didn't wasn't he averaging close to 20pts and 60% shooting? how come now he's playing bad it is the injury? highly suspect I tell ya, highly suspect.  cool
Still. You should be comparing last year's Celtics not to the Lakers but to the Cavs, with whom they actually have more in common (Regular season's best record and MVP, with about the same number of wins as well). They also swept the Hawks last regular season before meeting them in the playoffs, so what's this strawman counter-argument about the Celts struggling against athletic teams??. Rather than trying to explain away the Cavs sepctacular performance with team dynamics, i'll suggest (again) the simple fact that the Celts were much more spectacular during the regular season than they were in the playoffs (Cf. the CAVS, who are playing like true champs to me). And as for who ('08 Celts or Cavs) actually had the better match up vs the Hawks, i'll let y'all decide, grin
when was this point a bone of contention?  huh
You're making my simple slice into a loaf of bread. Bottomline: Lakers are not playing like champs, Celtics struggled last year but were never blown out by a team missing its 2 major stars and minimal contribution from its best player on the floor. Shikena.

well, everyone and their grandmas (and grandmas' live-in boyfriends) know and expect this, sohuh
So that is all I'm saying, simple.

Oh, and those Bymum's stats you were touting as vindication for his insignificance certainly pale next to the confounding statistic you (ostensibly) omitted - he's averaging 13 mins per game. Only Farmar and Josh Powell (, who?) are averaging less time per game in the entire Lakers team. Now, those stats sure look less gawk-worthy, dont you concur?? Even Rondo, (your idol) would look less "awesome" with so much time on the bench wink
Lol . . . and why exactly is he averaging only 13 mins? becos he gets into foul trouble and cannot stay on the floor another negative that surely wasn't omitted out of mishief not becos Phil Jackson suddenly decided he doesn't like to play him. Its a no-brainer, less minutes less stats, who's arguing that? But I don't think anyone can argue Bynum has flat out sucked this postseason. Again that's my simple point.
