Moonstone:
When a team can beat Lakers at home in regular season and then come to the playoffs and lose by almost 60 points, that for me is the highest of highs and lowest of lows. I know consistency is a major problem but no one predicted that the Den-NOH game would end in 5 games. Everyone was really predicting 7 because of how NOH played last year.
I feel you. The best would be to hope Chandler heals and comes back healthy and if the Hornets can somehow steal another veteran scorer to help the offense. Thing is I don't see many players running to NO and the team doesn't have the $$ to tempt them either.

Yeah - it's that bad. I don't know when they are making that decision but it's getting more likely with each passing week. Sometimes I think it's Hornets they might let go of but then when you look at Saints, our performance has been horrific since 2006/2007. I think I prefer a team that can make it to the playoffs anyday anytime.
wow  shocked I was down there last yr and stayed at a hotel downtown and was shocked at how many businesses and stores were never re-opened and entire blocks and parking lots completely empty - all this downtown?  shocked I guess the blow Katrina dealt the city is still stinging. But don't the bball & football games have excellent attendance? the house was packed when i watched the saints. I don't think they should be axing any of the teams at all, that'd be like a death sentence.
SportsRe: Nba Season '08/09 by JeSoul(f): 8:08pm On Apr 30, 2009
Moonstone:
They have Stojakovic who's really good at 3-pters. Somehow, he never gets the ball. If you look at the blowout game - CP3 scored 4pts and David West was the highest with 14pts. I mean, It's so disheartening.
Sean Marks is very good once in a while. I know he has saved us so many times in terms of defending especially when Chandler was injured. I painfully agree with you. D. West is good but the problem of Hornets lies in consistency. We are NOT consistent. There are games we shine and there are games we look so stupid in. When a team is not consistent, they can't be a good team.
Forgot about him. He used to be so deadly way back when he was with Sacramento. Girl your boys are not the only ones . . . so many teams this yr struggled with consistency.

I don't think we lost anyone else. Pargo was the only big move I was aware of. We had little problem offensively but we have always had defensive problems. With Chandler out of the way and Pargo all the way in Europe, I guess I know how many problems we really do have.
That's what I thot. Well i guess it trickles down. If your starters don't put up, you can't expect the bench to.

I can bet my money on it that Hornets are among them. They are actually contemplating which team they wanna let go off between Saints and Hornets. It will destroy the city if they let either one of them go. cry cry cry cry
shocked shocked shocked wow that bad? sad that would be serious.

I heard Stern is trying to get some bailout and katrina relief funds to be diverted to the Hornets grin
The hornets would soon be in luxury tax trouble. CP3 should get out while he can.
Rumor has it they would fire Byron Scott but they couldn't afford to lol  the economy is screwing everyone up  grin

I hope you are ready to see D.Rose break out of his slump shocked
Isn't he on a show-up-every-3-games schedule? cheesy  so we are not expecting another great night till game 7  grin

bawomolo:
what potential do sean marks, hilton armstrong and james posey have?  Let's be hornet they need a 3rd scorer beyond David West and Chris paul. There is no backup PG to let Chris paul rest.  Chris Paul has to score 20pt and 10ast for them to even have a chance to win.  CP3 made David west and Tyson Chandler into average overpaid players and that's now obvious.  That bench just like that of the spurs without manu is horrible.
I don't recall who was or wasn't on the bench for NO last yr but what I do recall is that they didn't have offensive problems like they do this year and the addition of Posey was supposed to put them over the top, but that obviously didn't work. Who else did the Hornets lose in the offseason besides Pargo? You are right though that Paul makes West and Chandler look better but to be fair Chandler has been injured all yr, its West's disappearance I'm suprised at.

the NBA is smiling at the tv ratings
The Bulls-Celtics series is what is driving and generating a lotta interestI dare A-40 to deny it cheesy . . . our teams should be getting extra checks cool

I still hear that some teams are in dire straits . . . I wonder if the Hornets are among them?  grin

Today is the day, the bulls usually play better at home. no more 4th quarter break down.
I hope they play as fantastic as they did in Game 3 cheesy

the hornets are out of the series, good for them. David West is not a No.2 option. Get some talent on that bench. why did they let jannero pargo go to europe?
Pargo followed the money just like Childress. Besides if the Hornet bench and starters lived up to the record and potential of last season we would be saying Janero who?
Umm, that flagrant looked pretty obvious from my point of view, plus a foul is a foul is a foul, whether it is commited in the 1st or 4th or 14th quarter. I do agree, however, that the referees are more tentative in making calls (especially game-changing/-deciding calls) in the closing seconds of a game. No Ref wants to be the subject of controversy but that's no license for a player to pull a dagger or to literarily bleed your opponents (albeit unintentionally), it's still a GAME afterall huh
That sounds nice on e-paper but I am glad Refs don't call fouls the same way in the last few mins than in the first. Let the players rock it out. All I'm saying is if Bulls fans want to complain they should lose their amnesia and remember Gordon was out of bounds when he was 'fouled' and shot 3 fts to tie it. If they want their flagrant then we want our 3 shots back simple.

They are only complaining when a bad call is not in their favor  tongue

Sometimes you get good calls sometimes bad - you deal with it, get over it and move on. Not start whining its the reason you lost the game. This is not soccer or football where 1 call can literally be the reason you lose or win. This series could easily have been over if Pierce makes a FT in game 1 and makes a shot at the end in game 4.

sharrap, get rid of that black and white panasonic tv. Big Orobo shoved him first then he retaliated. a man is bleeding from his mouth and you call that deserved. So that's how you nuts roll in boston tongue
You best believe it  cool. You come to Boston you berra bring your guts and grit or else.

By the lovely way, smiley this is a fantastic article on the front page of espn:

Fouls, flops, fiascoes ,  but not flagrant
http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=simmons/090429&sportCat=nba
hehe  grin  you should check it out dude  cool I pulled some fantastic quotes just for whiny malu fans:

Q: Should Rajon Rondo have been whistled for a flagrant foul at the end of Game 5?
A: The short answer: Yes. The long answer: No.

OK, you're confused . . . the last 15 seconds of a fourth quarter or overtime morph into rugby rules and it's just implicitly understood. In the Final Fifteen, the players decide the game unless it's an obvious call. At the end of Game 4, Brad Miller grabbed Ray Allen from behind and flung him down like a kick returner so Miller could potentially get a buzzer-beating tip on a missed shot. Did they call it? No. That play shouldn't have decided the game. And it didn't.

If Bulls fans want to whine about it, fine, just remember that (A) Boston's best clutch guy (Ray Allen) fouled out on two of the worst calls of the playoffs, and (B) Ben Gordon stepped out of bounds right as he got fouled by Tony "Why Am I In The Game Again?" Allen for three game-tying free throws in the final 30 seconds. Sweeping incompetence will eventually even out over time.
you don't need triple doubles when your team is 7 deep with guys that can score and rebound double digits all day. how many points has scalabrine scored grin
Abeg leave Scal alone, he is there for cheerleading  cheesy Who needs 7 'deep' aka average bench warmers that cannot carry nor finish a game when you have the next gold glove PG averaging triple digits?  grin
SportsRe: Nba Season '08/09 by JeSoul(f): 7:07pm On Apr 29, 2009
True, True, but i don't think the Bulls' fans should heap it all on Miller, although he looked dazed and confused after that bloody whack up the side of his face and he seemed more interested in keeping his teeth together than making the free throws, grin
hehe  grin he musta thot he was back in Sacramento  grin

then i guess it's safe to say the Celtics are not serious contenders for the championship this post-season, no?
cry  yeah it is def more than safe to say Boston are def not serious contenders this year. But then the only "serious" contenders are LA and Cleveland. Celtics, Orlando and maybe Denver are second tier unlikely prospects. I love Pierce and Allen but as soon as KG was ruled out so went the dreams of a repeat.

bawomolo:
how many of you can make two free throws after getting your mouth smashed?
miller doesn't deserve the blame, the refs and rose ruined that game.
Any of us making at least $1mill a yr should be able to  tongue that's what they're getting paid for jor.

there is no unrealistic expectation on derrick rose, you don't draft a player with the no.1 pick for him to defer to ben gordon time and time again in the 4th quarter.
Perhaps Rose has not asserted himself at crunch time, but I'm not sure why you're suprised at this. What does it matter he was the #1 pick and ROY? he is still inexperienced and in his 1st playoff series. You cannot realistically expect him to shoulder the close-out burden. Couple yrs ago we were talking about how rookie LeBron was fading at the end of games and couldn't carry the team. Gordon has been around for a bit long enuff to turn down big money, hence the confidence.

this series is going 7 games though. and i still want to see rondo get a taste of his own medicine.  ruffian.
Yes I'm curious to see which Bull Malu will drop a triple double in game 6  cool
