Week 5 Picks:

SD @ Miami - No self-respecting team should lose against Miami (you hear me Patriots? angry )
Washington @ Philly - Tough call here, Wash has momentum, but I like McNabb to do well at home
Seattle @ NYG - angry I know those evil giants will win again but I'm hoping for an upset
Indy @ Texans - hehe Onyinye, your boys are about to be 0-4
Chicago @ Det - Chicago shouldn't have an problems with the wigers.
Cincy @ Cowboys - Game of the weekend. Cincy is hungry at 0-4 n Dallas is reeling from last weeks loss - it's a perfect upset situation. But A-40's boys should win.
NE @ SF - I don't see how a humiliated Pats will come back home 2-2, they need to win to restore their pride.

I think Al Davis is blaming everyone but himself i am not a huge follower of the Raiders but this is like his 5th coach in 6 years and he's hired everyone of them so he should take some of the blame as far as i am concerned that franchise na joke how they wouldn't lose at least 10 games thiss season is what i want to see

As for T.O and Romo its all lies the media just likes to cause unnecessary confusion
dude looked like he was about to pop a vein during the press conf  cheesy. MyPeace:
You are right, we take communion in remberance of what Christ did on the cross. But what is the significance of his death? Remember at the end of HIS Travails He said it is finished. our sorrow, pains, sickness etc is finished as a result of His death on the cross.
and that is where the story stops in the biblical definition of why we take communion! Why do we feel a need to add to that? The foremost significance of Christ's death is to save us from our sins - not our sickness or pains or financial troubles.

When we take communion we're reflecting on Christ, on His death, on His sacrifice. It is all about HIM and the work He did.

The minute we start to add our situations, our problems, our needs we're taking the focus away from Christ and unto ourselves!

My dear this is not the purpose of communion as taught in 1Cor 11 and until someone shows me otherwise from the scriptures and not just our own inclinations or feelings I don't see how I can accept that teaching.

Perhaps that's the case that McNabb just needs better talent to garner greater acclaim . . . Brady got Moss and suddenly had the best qb season ever. Yeah to a great extent a qb is only as good as the receivers he has surrounding him.

FifiO:
@JeSoul
I am sorry, but I don't believe that exactly qualifies as taking it for unworthy purposes, do you realise, my friend, that the word of God is there to show us how to live the life we have been called to live? The supernatural life of an overcomer?.

Perhaps the pastors don't say it right, but I think what they are trying to say is that when we take the holy communion, we take time to reflect on the contents of  the "salvation package" Christ purchase with his blood for us. In that sense, a pastor is right in guiding your mind to all the things God has promised because ours is a "look and live" kind of life.

So, for instance when you hear that when "men say there's a casting down, our testimony is that "there is a lifting  up", and you take communion in that knowledge, you don't expect less and your faith is worked up to meet what ever challenge you are facing;financial or otherwise,  with abundance.

In that way, I guess we can say it has some "powers" ,to quote Gamine, afterall,Knowledge is power.

On a lighter note, I agree some of them sound like its some bonanza or freebie, or something!  grin

Hope I have helped.
Blessings!
Hi FifiO,
hope all is well with you smiley. I hear what you say above and I see where you're coming from but I beg to disagree.

1Cor 11:23
For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, 24and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, "This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me." 25In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me." 26For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes.

We're told here scripturally what it means to take communion. It is to remember Christ and the sacrifice He made on our behalf and to publicly acknowledge that fact.
The problem with what you've stated is that we are adding to this scripture meaning and significance that is not included in the bible. That's the bottomline. And once we start to add to scripture we are treading on a very dangerous path, because that is how heresies take root and grow and become 'tradition'. If something cannot be irrefutably & scripturally backed up then we must not be partakers in such a teaching.

There's nuthin wrong with a believer trusting and believing in God for health and finance, BUT it has nuthin to do with the sacred act of taking communion. To me that trivializes it immensely. Equating or elevating our problems and needs to the same level as reflecting on the blood and sacrifice of Jesus? I wouldn't dare do it. When I take communion, it is solely to remember what Christ did, if after that I want to pray for my needs and desires that's fine.

Like it or not its the truth do you think Garnett and co. would have been able to dominate the paint defensively and offensively if Bynum was around?Bynum would have been a monster in that series Odom and Gasol put together would not have done the job Bynum would have done it would have also meant less minutes for brick shooter Radmanovic but i guess its too late for that now
uhm hell yeah! You're forgetting KG is a proven veteran with monster stats n records n tenacity and ferocity under his belt while Bynum is an upcoming rookie in the game. Bynum woulda plugged the hole but only to an extent, but I don't think he woulda been that big of a deal the way people are thinking that it woulda favored the lakers to win - no way.

My favorites for the West still are the Lakers the Hornets are looking good too and of course my Mavs and i just can't write of the Spurs its not possible don't know how Houston will fare with Artest lets wait and see but the dark-horses for me have got to be the Blazers

I knew you'D bring up good ol' Jeffery Garcia smiley . . . notice your words, he "led the eagles to a respectable record" that is not the same as taking them to the big game. I actually like Garcia and think he did a great job after Donovan went down but make no mistake, he is NOT as good as McNabb. Granted Mc's injury prone, but as of right now, there's no mistaking who's the better choice.

if donovan mcnabb is more valuable, why was there rumors of him being traded to chicago. mcnabb is only getting rejuvenated due to the presence of desean jackson.
As for the calls to trade him, Philly fans are harsh and unloving and ungrateful (just ask AI, and Barkley). They have never really taken to McNabb. They booed him from day one when he was selected. I mean they haven't seemed to recognize what a good player they have in him, I can count 10 other NFL teams that would trip to have McNabb right now. He's not Manning or Brady, but he's the next best thing.

personally i prefer if the bears get a guy like matthew stafford or chase daniels from the draft. air mcnabb would be fine though grin
Matthew who? Chase what? please brotha  grin McNabb (who is a chicago born n bred by the way) is better than those options.
