Week 5 Picks: SD @ Miami - No self-respecting team should lose against Miami (you hear me Patriots? )Washington @ Philly - Tough call here, Wash has momentum, but I like McNabb to do well at home Seattle @ NYG - I know those evil giants will win again but I'm hoping for an upsetIndy @ Texans - hehe Onyinye, your boys are about to be 0-4 Chicago @ Det - Chicago shouldn't have an problems with the wigers. Cincy @ Cowboys - Game of the weekend. Cincy is hungry at 0-4 n Dallas is reeling from last weeks loss - it's a perfect upset situation. But A-40's boys should win. NE @ SF - I don't see how a humiliated Pats will come back home 2-2, they need to win to restore their pride. |
@Jesoul I think Al Davis is blaming everyone but himself i am not a huge follower of the Raiders but this is like his 5th coach in 6 years and he's hired everyone of them so he should take some of the blame as far as i am concerned that franchise na joke how they wouldn't lose at least 10 games thiss season is what i want to see As for T.O and Romo its all lies the media just likes to cause unnecessary confusion
dude looked like he was about to pop a vein during the press conf . He even take mouth talk say the Pats "tampered" with Randy Moss before signing him . . . so now the Pats are also the cause for the Raiders failure - while we're at it lets blame George Bush too for the "suckiness" of the raiders ![]() |
doyin13:eya . . . don't worry ehn, by the grace of God e go betta for you. Al Davis is loony. . . .He thinks he can keep pulling one out of his hat hiring coaches from left fieldlol . . . I think Doyin hates any team that "garners attention" just because they win So J.Campbell is now ur boy? I thot u were done with black qbs? ![]() |
MyPeace:and that is where the story stops in the biblical definition of why we take communion! Why do we feel a need to add to that? The foremost significance of Christ's death is to save us from our sins - not our sickness or pains or financial troubles. When we take communion we're reflecting on Christ, on His death, on His sacrifice. It is all about HIM and the work He did. The minute we start to add our situations, our problems, our needs we're taking the focus away from Christ and unto ourselves! My dear this is not the purpose of communion as taught in 1Cor 11 and until someone shows me otherwise from the scriptures and not just our own inclinations or feelings I don't see how I can accept that teaching. |
Alhaji, I was just playing with you sir . If you gave me a discounted rate it would probably come attached with fine print that I must convert to islam first abi? But I like what you said here: olabowale:True. |
bawomolo:bulls-shmulls at best 1st rd playoff exit for your boys. |
@Jesoul Hehehe i ll let you tell it Did anyone see the the drama from the Raiders owner Al Davis? firing a coach has never been this dramatic
Omo I saw it oh! that drama pass soap opera for real . I think Al Davis is lying about Kiffin. He looked he was trying too hard to convince us while Kif seemed cool and collected during his rebuttal. Something else musta happened behind closed doors to infuriate Davis that we don't know of.NFL = Drama. The TO vs Romo thing is still burning and its thursday? |
[s] Doyin which woodwork did you just crawl out from? [/s] what I meant to say was how have you been? ![]() doyin13:ouch! Carson Palmer.Perhaps that's the case that McNabb just needs better talent to garner greater acclaim . . . Brady got Moss and suddenly had the best qb season ever. Yeah to a great extent a qb is only as good as the receivers he has surrounding him. Which is why I pray McNabb leaves philly for greener pastures . . . I believe he's much better than what his career has shown. |
I dey fine my sista . It is starting to get cold but God dey. I know say heaven go dey perfect so I'm looking forward to it!How is your 'research' going? |
olabowale:hehe . . . Does he have access to discounted nightly rates? I hate riding the subway into the city when I'm in ur 'hood. There's no need for the phone number Sir for once, I'll take your word for it ![]() |
In Springfield, Mass eh? hmmm [s]Maybe I'll drive by on my way home tonight to see this virgin Mary[/s] . . . If these people spent the time used to stare at that window, instead to read their bibles, they would know that staring at that window was |
Alhaji, nice story. However, I'm not calling you a liar, but I don't believe you ![]() |
FifiO:Hi FifiO, hope all is well with you . I hear what you say above and I see where you're coming from but I beg to disagree.1Cor 11:23 For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, 24and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, "This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me." 25In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me." 26For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes. We're told here scripturally what it means to take communion. It is to remember Christ and the sacrifice He made on our behalf and to publicly acknowledge that fact. The problem with what you've stated is that we are adding to this scripture meaning and significance that is not included in the bible. That's the bottomline. And once we start to add to scripture we are treading on a very dangerous path, because that is how heresies take root and grow and become 'tradition'. If something cannot be irrefutably & scripturally backed up then we must not be partakers in such a teaching. There's nuthin wrong with a believer trusting and believing in God for health and finance, BUT it has nuthin to do with the sacred act of taking communion. To me that trivializes it immensely. Equating or elevating our problems and needs to the same level as reflecting on the blood and sacrifice of Jesus? I wouldn't dare do it. When I take communion, it is solely to remember what Christ did, if after that I want to pray for my needs and desires that's fine. |

make sure you don't hold your breath for too long on J.Kidd Gosh I remember not that long ago he was the triple double machine in NJ that was terrorising the eastern conf teams my my, age is not a good thing at all at all.
As for the Spurs i wouldn't write them off not in this life they have failed to defend their Championship yes but i am sure most NBA pundits said the same about this team in 2004/2005 season and 2006/2007 season and we all saw what happened
I know oh. That's why I said it's "mental" to count them out but yet I'm still doing it Timmy don age finish and Ginobili's wild antics are resulting in injuries and inconsistent play. monsiuer Parker is the only one I have complete faith in. |
@Jesoul Who told you he would not have changed the outcome of that series it was obvious to all to see that they lacked penetration and their next best player besides Kobe was in the sidelines trust me Garnett would have a very hard time coping with Bynum same goes for Kendrick Perkins
well guess we'll find out pretty soon huh? I think the NBA scheduled LA-BOS on christmas day . . . The West is pretty hot alright and i expect all TX teams to fare much better this seasonReally? your Mavs haven't significantly changed anything/anyone so how are they supposed to 'fare much better'? and as for SA I mean I know its mental to count them out but I somehow just don't see them getting any better but instead worse. And I know Houston is better with Artest, but yet I cannot shake that thing at the back of my head telling me he's going to have another mental breakdown. ![]() |
@Jesoul Like it or not its the truth do you think Garnett and co. would have been able to dominate the paint defensively and offensively if Bynum was around?Bynum would have been a monster in that series Odom and Gasol put together would not have done the job Bynum would have done it would have also meant less minutes for brick shooter Radmanovic but i guess its too late for that now
uhm hell yeah! You're forgetting KG is a proven veteran with monster stats n records n tenacity and ferocity under his belt while Bynum is an upcoming rookie in the game. Bynum woulda plugged the hole but only to an extent, but I don't think he woulda been that big of a deal the way people are thinking that it woulda favored the lakers to win - no way. My favorites for the West still are the Lakers the Hornets are looking good too and of course my Mavs and i just can't write of the Spurs its not possible don't know how Houston will fare with Artest lets wait and see but the dark-horses for me have got to be the Blazershehe the blazers? maybe. I think the west is just waayy too competitive. |
I have seen this proverb true too many times in life. It is a worthy one to arm oneself with: Pr15: 1 A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. |

This proverb always comes to my mind whenever I'm hanging out with friends, especially girl-friends ![]() Proverbs 10:19 When words are many, sin is not absent, but he who holds his tongue is wise. and this one I distinctly remember was played before my very eyes, when we heard Abacha was dead, see celebration! Pr 11:10 When the righteous prosper, the city rejoices; when the wicked perish, there are shouts of joy. |
I'm not holding my breath for the Spurs n Dallas (sorry A-40 )but how are the hornets aching? The combination of Paul, Chandler, West is a deadly one, and one more yr of playing together will make them better. Plus don't forget the addition of Posey who seems to bring championships wherever he goes.I don't doubt though that Bynum has immense potential. He was playing great up till he got injured. But I still hold that he only solves one of the lakers problems. As for other western potentials, don't sleep on Utah & Houston. |
bawomolo:Alright I can see your point, Palmer & Rivers possess the right stuff to strut with McNabb, but I still take Mc over both of them. I'm not so sure about Jayjay though, he still has some proving to do. ![]() you are right, i doubt the cheap bears would want to take on his contract. he is definitely a better option than the bipolar kyle ortonLOL Don't be so hard on him, at least he's better than Rexy isn't he? I tell ya if ya'll had rid urselves of Grossman few yrs ago, you'd have had a SB ring on ur fingers. |
The Lakers where one Bynum away from glory last season
yeah right! The lakers problem was team defense and intensity, Bynum cannot solve that problem all by himself n play team defense for the whole squad.what about the problem of gutless muscle'less' Gasol who looked listeless n confused most of the time? and crossovers by Rayray over statued motionless Walton, or Odom only playing intense for 2 quarters etc. Bynum only solves one of their problems. They will not repeat as western champs this yr. My money is on NO/ those "jambalaya eatin' folks" as Onyinye put it ![]() |
bawomolo:I knew you'D bring up good ol' Jeffery Garcia . . . notice your words, he "led the eagles to a respectable record" that is not the same as taking them to the big game. I actually like Garcia and think he did a great job after Donovan went down but make no mistake, he is NOT as good as McNabb. Granted Mc's injury prone, but as of right now, there's no mistaking who's the better choice.if donovan mcnabb is more valuable, why was there rumors of him being traded to chicago. mcnabb is only getting rejuvenated due to the presence of desean jackson. As for the calls to trade him, Philly fans are harsh and unloving and ungrateful (just ask AI, and Barkley). They have never really taken to McNabb. They booed him from day one when he was selected. I mean they haven't seemed to recognize what a good player they have in him, I can count 10 other NFL teams that would trip to have McNabb right now. He's not Manning or Brady, but he's the next best thing. personally i prefer if the bears get a guy like matthew stafford or chase daniels from the draft. air mcnabb would be fine thoughMatthew who? Chase what? please brotha McNabb (who is a chicago born n bred by the way) is better than those options. |
bawomolo: He looked like he knew the lyrics pretty good too . . . dude is too old and too smart for |
I think we need this thread back ![]() Arms of Love - Kutless I sing a simple song of love To my Savior, to my Jesus. I'm grateful for the things You've done, My loving Savior, my precious Jesus.
