EDIT: 2011-2012 Season Begins. GB Packers defending champions. And Patriots future champions ![]() We also want to remember our friend Bawomolo. We still miss you brother & though you're not here with us physically, we will share this season with you . . . so far Jay Diva Cutler is looking okay ![]() Some interesting storylines include -the perenial bottom feeders the Detriot Lions actually picked to make the playoffs and do well. Matt Stafford is turning out a stud. -Tony Romo back from injury this season, and if game 1 is an indicator, its going to be a bad season for Dallas fans. -Colts fans . . . LOL . . . sorry couldn't resist. Peyton Manning out for a while. Now ya'll get a taste of what its like to lose your hall of fame QB for possibly an entire season.-The dream team in Philly led by Vick. Will they live up to the hype? etc etc and many more. Lets go! EDIT:2010-2011 Season Begins It's about that time again people. Rikkygenerator and Binna, una fit come out from ![]() Bawo's last prediction was that we should all watch out for the Diva Prima Donna Jay Cutler . . . any chance you wanna retract that? And I hope Moonstone, Jaguar and other Saint-ers have landed from the honeymoon because statistics say most defending SB champions do not even make the playoffs in the following season. My NE patriots are of course the exception to the rule ![]() Brittney Favre un-retired for the 10th time. I hope this Viking season sucks to the high heavens. A-40's Steelers have a So NFL fans on NL, where all of una dey? EDIT: 2009-2010 Season Begins Year-long Purely Baseless, Emotionally Fueled Predictions ![]() NY Giants - Don't make the playoffs, they will forever pay for denying the Pats a perfect season Detroit Lions - *cough cough* Make the playoffs, I'd like that kid Stafford to do well. Cincy Bengals - For the sake of Chad please please please stop wasting your potential! Pittsburgh Steelers - Solid all around, very likely to make a run back to the SB Houston Texans - will continue to stink ![]() Indianapolis Colts - only a shadow of what they used to be and it will show. I hope they don't smell playoffs Tennesse Titans - Can they repeat the run from last yr? Hope so Miami Dolphins - Abeg carry go! there can be only 1 AFC east dominant team and it is not you. Denver Broncos - I hope (against all sense) that the absence of that spoilt diva at qb will leave them better off SD Chargers - If not for the stud Philip Rivers I would have assigned them to irrelevance. GB Packers - Go Rodgers go!!! wipe Bratt Favre out of the memories of Packer fans. Minnesota Vikings - To put it simply, I hope Bratt breaks his own record for INT's NO Saints - I dunno . . . I don't think the Reggie Bush experiment will work afterall. Dallas Cowboys - I am already overcome with laughter, Romo will be exposed even further for the weakling that he is Philadelphia Eagles - For the sake of saving Vick from lunatic, fanatic, murdering philly fans please succeed! NE Patriots - simply said "SUPER BOWL CHAMPS 2010!!!" Brady coming off the best qbing season ever will return to form and restore the NE glory. Amen ![]() Disclaimer: the above 'predictions' are subject to change at any moment and for any reason at the sole discretion of the author ![]() 2008-2009 Season OVER! Abi I am the only one? Anyways my season was ruined last sunday approximately 8minutes into the game when Brady suffered a season-ending injury. Doyin and other haters I'm sure ya'll happy So I don't have high hopes for the Pats this yr. Dramatic things I'D like to see happen during the season: Jets - Hope Bratt Favre changes his mind & retires mid-season Cowboys - TO cries on national tv, again; Romo elopes with Jessica simpson to mexico & fumbles another playoff ball and Pacman stays born-again. Giants - infact I hope they don't even smell the playoffs! Dolphins - win more than 1 game Bengals - Ocho cinco changes his name to something even more ridiculously funny Eagles - McNabb to play great and earn back the respect he deserves and leave for greener pasture, those ungrateful eagle fans I'll save my other wishes for later . . . |
Mazaje, I know you're better than this. I understand your anger towards people who've insulted you but you cannot go round the religion board pouring out your anger on other innocent christians/threads. If a thread is calling for christian responses/discussion, you don't have to go on it and disrupt it. There are many atheist-themed threads you can partake in or create your own, but please let a christian discussion be. huxleys initial post on the "Bisi" thread really annoyed me, that was below decent but that is typical of his behavior here on Nairaland. A man should learn when to speak and when to hold his tongue. Even though this is just an anonymous forum we must still try our best to be respectful of the people around us, even the people we don't like or agree with. |
Siena:Actually it was all over mostly the politics section for Nigerians to boycott BA cos of the way they mistreated some Nigerians. On a serious note, there's no right or wrong, use the airline that offers you the best value / service for your money.Amen to that! |
huxley, please for once show some class, respect or at least a tiny bit of decency . The guy is simply asking for prayers for his little sister who is in a serious condition, please if you have nuthin good to say it is not by force to comment on a thread. |
darfur:hehe why now? Darfur, both you and David might be intrested in this thread https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria?topic=169488 |
The Palin effect is in full force, she's moved the fickle walmart moms over to McCain's side by a whopping 20 points according to latest polls.hehe, still think Sarah Palin is a mistake? the wrinkled shot-callers in washington ![]()
@davidylan, The exodus has only just begun. By Novemebr, even Hillary will be voting for the Palin the Baracuda.
darfur:It is not only fox, cnn does it too. The men, esp the AA's look like plastic dolls ![]() |

davidylan:Common now don't be nitpicky, do her citizens call her a game-changer or not? what does whether it is now or when she was a beauty queen have to do with it? Which means Palin has more of the experience this magnitude of office requires in comparison to McCain. Which means McCain isnt qualified to be president but Palin is?that's not what I said or implied. Did you see me break it into "executive experience"? no. I said "overall", speaking of general experience. McCain was a solider and has been in washington - that is "overall" and general experience. Comparing Palin and Obama's experiences whether in the senate or a gov office is what I was doing. Don't get it twisted now. And I'd take Palin's time in the gov's office over Obama's in the senate. Simple. Wait . . . a certain Bush had 6 years as governor of Texas (larger than the size of Nigeria, with a population more than 10x the size of Alaska and with more oil money than Palin can ever dream of) . . . what a wonderful experience that was for a man who is widely regarded as one of america's worst presidents. what does Bush have to do with the current discussion? Obviously Bush is an outlier, experience is never a bad thing to have.If experience is not such a hot thing to have then why do you belittle Palin for not having much of it? when Obama has even less? I happen to even think that Obama shoulda embraced his inexperience as an advantage and a plus. It means he hasn't gotten his hands soiled by washington politics, it woulda meant he wasn't "politics as usual" and that therefore makes him a perfect agent of "change". |
Click ko, clock ni ![]() How would u even know if I'm single or not?
lol . . . it was an "educated" guess. Abi no be true I talk? ![]() |
davidylan:Oga david, both you & Tayo have undertaken that discussion on several other threads, no need for me to reiterate all those points here now abi? Look its simple, Palin has acquired that reputation as testified by the citizens in her state, people who've lived and worked under her, people who would know say that she has been a game-changer in Alaska. Now whether in your eyes those things she did are 'significant' accomplishments is not the issue. If her history and people say that she is a reformer, then she is. "experience" here being relative. First the reps said Obama wasnt "experienced" . . . now they picked Palin and they have refined it to mean "executive experience".Lol, don't look to me to defend republicans . . . I am not one . I am aware of the tweak to say "executive" experience . . . but that is irrelevant in the big picture. Overall, in my humble opinion, Palin has more of the experience this magnitude of office requires in comparison to Obama. Shikena. Please can someone tell me why McCain himself is running without any "executive experience"?oya somebody please answer mr David . . . ![]() Kobojunkie:I agree with me too ![]() |
oya all the christian singles on this board click away . . . Kunle, AKO etc . . . ![]() |
Kobojunkie:Well he kind of did, kind of. If you're going to criticize the other side for not having experience then you need to make sure your side is bulky in that dept. The vp position while typically just a ceremonial position is still afterall the 1st back-up to the president if he's suddenly out of the picture. It does require someone with a sturdy resume. BUT you're right in that the difference is Palin is NOT running for president, Obama is, so in reality its not really a fair or accurate comparison to compare both. If Palin is not qualified to be a VP, then Obama is even less qualified to be prez. And those who say she's a "heartbeat" away from the presidency are just grasping at straws. If I were given these two options for prez, I'D pick Palin. She's done/accomplished more in her political life than Obama has, and anyone who says otherwise is just being dishonest and deliberately ignorant. |
Oga modo, you have come again . . . I thot you said you were leaving NL for good? and never coming back? ![]() |
Queenisha:ROTFLOL . . . . oh my gosh osisi you r crazy! lol ![]() |
hmmm this kin special lovers chocolate wey dey make people win majors . . . which store can I find it? Walmart? abi Lindt? or Shaws? ![]() |
bawomolo:hehe I don't even like grampy Mccain . But its true he did deviate from the experienced platform he's been running on, but he stayed true to himself and his reputation in picking someone who's considered a 'maverick' and a 'reformer' just like himself. Plus its a strong argurment that Palin in comparison to Obama has 'more' experience so Mccain musta thot, if Obama being this "thin" on accomplishments/experience can run for pres, then Palin can certainly run for the lesser office. |
Uche2nna:What Hillary "brings" aside from a sure victory is not really the point. The Vp's position is being highly overrated in this election A politician only has 2 jobs: 1. Get elected 2. Stay elected Obama is a politician & his primary concern is to win, he shoulda picked Hillary and nobody would know who Sarah Palin is. |
Bastage:LOL. What else is new? remember the SOD press conf. saying the US was under the threat terrorist attack . . . duh! |

What change?
I was just about to ask Uche the same question. Though Biden is mostly well respected in DC and was applauded as a good choice, it is still deviation from Obama's "change" anthem. |

The democrats stand on moral/societal issues disgust me, the republicans stand on economic/foreign issues annoy me & my wallet. Palin appears to represent something different, time will tell. Her short resume tells me she's capable of great things . . . including making an excellent hiking/hunting guide ![]() As for Fed its only a matter of time he would definitely break Sampras's record and Nadal will break it after him God forbid such a thing! Democrats don't take lessons from their defeats. They keep repeating the same mistakes over and over. I wonder when they going to learn, apparently not in 08 elections. Look at Bush scorecard for 8yrs, nothing but sorrow and anguish and yet the only success that Democrats had in congressional elections was a marginal 1 in senate. They are a sorry ass! 8yrs of negative results by Republicans and here we are less than 60days to election and Obama is tied with McCain in polls. Howard Dean should be fired.
Lol . . . Democrats should indeed be strolling all the way to the white house but as you both astutely noted, the Democrats dunno how to win elections. Obama shoulda swallowed his pride and picked Hillary, instead of sweating with McCain, they would both be on a beach in the Carribean right now with Michelle and Bill ![]() |
@Jesoul Baby momma won like i knew she would .
Whatever you fed her the night before certainly worked hehe . . . Dont tell me you are down with the RepublicansRepublicans ke? Both parties stink to the high heavens! ![]() BUT I'm def down with Sarah Palin! . . . we just shot down a huge moose and will be grilling it for dinner.Murray was just too easy for Fed i would have preferred Nadal because he would have made him workNo way no. I don't want Nadal anywhere near my husband . . . he is his albatross right now. And I don't want anything in the way of him surpassing Sampras as the greatest ever. |
I'm predicting at least 4 more majors for Roger . . . who's going to challenge him consistently besides Nadal? He's still playing at an extremely high level for an "old man" in tennis years. Agassi and Sampras were able to squeeze out in their latter years, Federer will do the same. |
4 Play:Of course not ![]() I have said it already, 99% of Obamaniacs, in their wanton and blind zeal to coronate him prez have chosen to deliberately see nothing good or praiseworthy in Palin . . . small wonder why. |
my husband has his 13th title . . . one more to tie, two more to make history. Too bad Murray wasn't in top shape, excuses might start to fly but Federer woulda still schooled him knee or no knee. |
olabowale:Alhaji, common now, don't you know you're not fooling anyone on this thread with the above lies? Pilgrim has said it simply, it is the same bible, words of Paul = words of Jesus, end of story. ![]() |
bioye:You know I thot about that too. There have been great players who've managed to play top notch and also make the game enjoyable for the audience. It wasn't like Serena blew her out, it was a competitive match. wow . . . Murray breaks Roger at love . . . maybe he'll make it a bit more intresting . . . |
wicked good! Federer strolls thru the 1st set . . . 6-2, leads 2-0 in the second. |
In a magazine? is she a model or something? I hear banks are the thing now, that everyone works in a bank - well long as it pays the bills Of course I remember them people . . . wow . . . names I haven't heard in forever. I lost touch with everyone, Toyin & Funmi (remember them abi? 5th floor?) did email me a couple of times after we left but I have not heard from them in years. Do you know whatever happened to Lanre in 416? I saw him a few months after moving but nothing since then. |
Mazaje, dude, you're in the Religion forum & you don tire for "God" threads? This seems to me like a self-inflicted predicament. Brotha, there are lots of other sections that have absolutely nada to do with God, how 'bout you give those a spin? ![]() |
Gamine:Indeed it is!!! You shoulda seen me screaming "NO WAY!" when I first saw your thread lol what are the chances of this happening?! Praise God for real! Abeg make we catch up on the good ol' days ![]() |
izzzzz a true oh! lol I just sent you an email Who knew all this time we have been conversing that we knew and grew up together! Kai! it is a small & wonderful world!Where is everyone one else on this thread? ![]() |
