I wish I lived in NY. I would love to attend his church someday
Been there few times. It's a blessed church. My dearest friend has been attending Times Sq church for close to 8yrs now, n always sings of the things she gets the chance to be part of. One time I visited, they put on a drama presentation on the life of David Wilkerson, it was so moving. The way God has worked thru this man is just incredible. He is one of the few men of integrity left in an ocean of wolves dressed in choir robes. |

Abeg helep me thank Baba God, I was in an accident on Tuesday but God is merciful, and Nigerians are perhaps the most caring people on earth. I was actually overspeeding and lost control but God still had mercy. Did a 360 and ended up in the bush, there were no trees in that area!!! No cars were coming or going (1 way) except an okada man behind me that helped mobilize people to pull out the car because the area is quite remote. If our leaders were as sensitive as those local people were, this country would be much better. And moreover like 1 min before the spin I wound down the windows, who knows maybe the shrubs would have shattered the glass in my face (I couldnt open the door to tell u how tall nd thick they were), or the car would have flipped because there would have been more wind-resistance. Its been quite traumatic over the past few days but God is my strength. God is Good!!!!
wow AKO! And that is such a heartwarming thing to hear the way people helped you, in the midst of all the bad things we hear about nigerians this is something to cheer about. AKO praise God for your life Psalm 118:17 "YOU will not die but live, and will proclaim what the LORD has done" AMEN and AMEN!!! ![]() |
Just wanted to wish all the saints a great weekend! Stay blessed n connected to the vine! |
Week 7 Picks SD vs Bills - I got Buffalo on this one, SD are nuthin but talented posers Vikes vs Chicago - Look for a bounce back by the bears Pitt vs Cincy - wow I think the Bengals are going to be 0-7 Bal vs Miami I'm going with the Fins SF vs NYG hehe another upset would be lovely . . . Dallas vs STL - the Cowboys on this one Detroit vs Houston - Detroit is 0-5, Houston is 1-4 . . . who do we think needs it more? Indy vs GB - I'm going with Rodgers & and the Pack on this Cleveland vs Redskins - I expect the Reds to get the W MNF Denver @ NE - Denver is a decent team but also suck in defense. A victory for the Patriots is more likely than not. |
look at these yeye boys . . . na una bite dust today! The Sox have lived to die another day, phew that was almost an embarrassment. If there's anything we know about in Boston, it is comeback victories - Sox, Celtics, Pats. Now they need to channel their inner hero and pull off another 2 upsets. Doyin what was that that your mama taught you? not to count those chickens before they hatch huh? ![]() |
well well well who woulda thot Romo has some grit n gut in him . . . he wants to play in spite of the broken pinkie . A-40 I tire oh! every other story on espn is on the cowboys . . . I know more about ur boys than I'd like ![]() . . . Pacman is going to rehab . . . TO is allegedly happy 'bout Roy . . . ![]() |
Mega, MeGaStReEt:1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. My brotha God will never turn away a person who comes to Him asking for forgiveness. The bible says that God takes pleasure in saving and redeeming us. All your friend needs to do is to confess and believe that God has forgiven him. It is really that simple. I have friends who are now christians that have committed acts 100times worse than what your friend did. Encourage your friend to trust in God's goodness n grace - it is more than sufficient to wipe out any past. Nimshi, Nimshi:True. However it usually comes down to whether the person is willing to change and stop sinning and whether or not they seek to please God by living a holy life. Does it cease to be "living in sin" (henceforth LiS) if the Christian man sleeping with the girlfriend to whom he's not married is remorseful after the act, and after every act? Er, when doe sit become a habit? If twice is "okay", what's wrong with thrice? 1 John 3:9 No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God's seed remains in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been born of God. This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not a child of God; nor is anyone who does not love his brother. 1 John 5:18 We know that anyone born of God does not continue to sin; the one who was born of God keeps him safe, and the evil one cannot harm him. The above verses should answer your question. A true christian cannot continue to sin and ask forgiveness for the same sin endlessly. Because the sacrifice of Jesus has freed us from the vicious cycle of sin. See Romans 6 for a detailed teaching on this. Even after making a decision, a fellow could still fall into sin, no?Yes they could. But an important distinction is that they won't make a habit of it. See the above again. |
TV01:hehe . . . please let me know when it is on sale . I have no doubt it will come in handy . . . |
You're more than welcome sweetie . Stay blessed. |
don't nail the Red Sox coffin just yet fellas . . . I still think they've got some juice left, though the last two games they've looked like scared kids who got beat up & had their lunch money stolen. It'll be hard to come back from 3-1 but we've had worse . . . just ask the yankees ![]() As for the addition of Roy williams, there were reports on espn that Jerry Jones "consulted" with TO before making the deal and TO was happy about it . . . anyone with 2 eyes and a brain can see that Jerry Jones is prepping for the absence of TO. A-40 I can't help but feel a storm in brewing in Dallas . . . with all these fireworks, something's gotta give. |
Gamine:I dey oh my sista . I get stress upon stress but the joy of the Lord has been my strength no be small . The verse in Phil 4 is so very precious to me right now:Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. . . . anyways how is Gamine these days? |
manmustwac:Someone made an astute observation that just cos christians sometimes fail at upholding God's teachings, that doesn't mean the teaching itself is wrong. Whichever way you slice it, a pre-nup is inconsistent and out of step with biblical teachings on marriage. I don't doubt that christians are getting divorced at pretty much the same rate as non-christians. But I remind myself of one thing: not everyone who says they're a christian is a christian. And they prove it when they don't follow the teachings of Jesus as taught in the bible. It is the same bible that says only few truly walk on the right path. |

Those guys would have been two games ahead of us if not for Cleveland i guess it was just one of those weekends
You can say that again . . . that yeye Eli that was being booed last season is now walking round like the godfather, some equally yeye people are starting to say he's better than Peyton
Cowboys,Bears and Giants lost against less fancied opposition
A sign of parity? or a sign of the parody the nfl has become this season . . . but I no fit lie, it is fun to see the weaklings suddenly rubbing shoulders with the elite . . . fun only when its not the Pats getting beat down ![]() In other related news: I hear say Pacman has been suspended indefinitely . . . well don't think he was that big of an asset, more like a liability. So to that I say good riddance! |
Analytical, I'll make sure I speak of God's goodness when it goes down. Godbless! |
doyin13:reads the line, then smiles because she gets it then replies I must say Doyin, you have your days of sheer brilliance! ![]() |
The two are very different. Living in sin is regularly, comfortably doing something you know is against God's word, without making an effort to stop or change. Basically this person knows what they're doing is wrong, but still do it. Committing a sin, is making a mistake, not something you do continously or habitually. When it happens you're convicted, repent and you're making a concerted effort to stop and live right. This person knows when they sin and immediately stop and repent. Practical examples: Living in sin A christian sleeping with his girlfriend/boyfriend regularly, and having no remorse or conviction about it Commits a sin: A christian slept with his girlfriend/boyfriend once/twice (or basically doesn't make it a habit), felt terrible, repented and made a decision not to do so again. Hope this helps! Cheers. |

a 35-14 upset of the unbeaten Giants? GodBless Cleveland! ![]() |
Not too worried 'bout the Sox . . . Lester is great but he can't pitch perfect every start. Beckett's been struggling cos of injury, but no matter what me cyan hate on him, he is the singular reason the Sox won the title last yr. and true Ortiz has slowed down but if you look at this season, Ortiz is NOT the reason the Sox have made it this far, infact he was out injured for a good chunk of it, our young guns have been the water underneath the ship and they'll show up in the rest of the series. ![]() |
FifiO:Lol . . . . . . somehow I can envision you as a trouble maker when you were a kid abi na lie? ![]() and sista you are not on your own I am here for moral support . You are right about "learning" my dad always says "no knowledge is ever wasted". Anyways I am fine jare, thanks to God, I have a huge presentation to make & impress all the phD's in attendance . . . nervous to the bone, but confident in God, so if you have a minute, pray for me! Ouch A-40 . . . Romo Out Up to a Month, finger injury. Well looks like that leaky defense has resulted in a casualty. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3640890 |
Hi all, I am almost falling off my chair with these games I read here. Maybe people have to go back a few pages and re-read issues before making anything redundant. What actually amazes me is that after arguing back and forth, we all now come back condenscending to the very same highlights we have tried to once ridicule. I only went into detail because I knew it would come back to this same point: "we are all agreed". May I ask: agreed on "what", precisely?
Hehe Pilgrim it's okay sis, don't get defensive cos I wasn't taking a shot at you with my "redundant" comment . From my vantage point, you all agree on this:1. Tithing is permissable, but not mandatory - and like most opponents, opposition is to those that would make it mandatory, not tithing per seThese we can all agree on, abi I'm wrong? Now as for the "extremes" that you mentioned, I do agree with you its wrong to take either end of the spectrum. And I suppose part of your gripe is to get a few others to accept that? It is not recently we began to state that tithing or any kind of giving in the NT is not made mandatory to anyone. We kept saying so on so many pages - but NO, our friends were too occupied with their own tradition to even listen at any point.A few of us recognized that from following this very animated thread for pages now , part of why I said things were being repeated, its just that with the sheer volume of other points being raised the essence of that fact has been lost n buried and given way to regressing to 10% or 1% or this offering or that offering. Discussion is good and profitable, I can tell you many will benefit from the in-depth analysis you and others have done. To simple ol' me, we're complicating this issue much more than it really is - 2Cor 9 could not have said it better: Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. Blessings. Fifio see as you pulled me into this discussion eh ![]() |
Analytical, thanks for sharing that as appreciating God and all the good things He has given to me is a theme that has been resonating in me for a while now. I pray for your colleagues family that they'll be comforted and I pray for you, that God will use your life as an instrument onto His glory. AMEN. Godbless you brotha. |
FifiO:lol I tried to follow my dear but I saw after a while it was getting redundant, I think everyone is in essence saying the same thing. But TV did a fantastic job of condensing the main points into simple lines. I agree with every letter, consonant, syllable and full stop in this quote:TV01:As for the pts you've raised in yours last entry, some of the answers given by TV negate the need for questions like whats "the Best part" etc as for the other questions, I think I'll leave that to the others to chop n analyze n respond. For me it is very simple, give as you've determined in you heart to do, according to your means and as your love for God inspires you to do. Kapish. No need for all the vernacular gymnastics cos I feel we're complicating something that's really very simple. anyways, how are ya girl? ![]() |
bawomolo:Lol . . . hope you got lots cos at this rate I might be needing more in the coming weeks . men what a beat down Pats have absolutely ZERO offense, zero passing game, zero rushing game, zero defensive intensity wow take out brady and this is all the Pats are? daggone shame. Time to whip out the championship dvds of the past couple yrs n reminisce on the good times . . . Anyways the other games were great to watch! all the last second plays to win games, I like this new trend You can't take a play off in the nfl, gotta be on alert the full 60 mins.
We did suck today i won't even lie i just wonder if T.O is going to sulk again since he was not really in the action
hehe . . . funny I kept turning to espn news to see if he was commenting after the game you KNOW he will soon say something on some radio show or interview.Cowboys are not looking so hot all of a sudden . . . gotta give u credit Bawomolo, you saw this coming. |
this is fun for the non-emotionally involved fan ![]() bawomolo:ROTFLOL . . . suegbe indeed! ![]() |
@ Bawomolo, lol at your Zoloft order . . . by the looks of it, Romo n the cowboys might be needing some o' dat by the end of this game . . . so go easy on that bottle sweetie hehe |
wow Arizona fumbles n loses it . . . very next play Cowboys get it on the 30yd line n lose it . . . let me get some popcorn because this game is gon be sumthin' else. Bawomolo, are you done cursing at the tv now? Ma worry. Was an off day for your boys I think. |
holy smokes! the Cardinals score a return kickoff TD first play of the game! ![]() Hmm Bawo did say something about a "leaky defense" . . . |
Bawo common now your boys were lucky to come back n almost pull off the victory. Give ATL some credit, it was a great win for them.Kyle Orton showed some grit there |
