bawomolo:hehe the same way the Colts should be scared of what the Steelers D-line is going to do to Peyton come sunday . Rex should just play like the kind of player he is - average. And not try to 'win' games or do anything fancy, or make 'big' plays and he'll be fine all he need do is manage the game and let the defense do their thing. |
So election watch is in full gear on NL? Today will be a very interesting day . . . |
Yup, I voted ![]() Got there at 8:30 this morning and there was no line. Took less than 10 mins and I was out. |
Much love to all the saints in here I hope you're all doing well and staying firm in the faith.Phemmy, I pray your sister gets well and recovers fully. It is well! |
I see too many heads be having hallucinations about Laker domination this season It's still too early to assess the teams just yet. Iverson goes to Detroit and Billups, McDyess & some other dude make their way to the mile high. The Nuggets get help on the defensive end and a championship veteran PG, Detroit gets some cap flexibility to go after some real help after this season. They haven't made it past the ECF the past 3yrs so why continue to cling to the "core 3"? |
rikkyjen:Lol . . . only 1/3rd of my genes are yoruba the other 2/3rd's allows me to be stuck to the Pats through wins and losses you no dey "associate yourself with failure"? in that case be prepared to be dissociated from the Colts for the rest of the season. I'm looking into a crystal ball & I only see failure in their future . . . ![]() But seriously speaking, ignore the Colts @ ur own & teams perilColts & wildcard in the same sentence? You are having a laugh, right?lol . . . this yeye Rikky sabi run mouth oh The Colts are cold turkey honey, just accept the cold hard bitter truth ![]() |
Look at this yeye Rikky where has thou been since the Colts raked up a 3-4 record? and could have very easily been 2-6 save for boneheaded mistakes & penalties by Houston and the Pats? If your offense was actually well - producing offense I might hold out some hope for ya'll. This is a sketchy team that has been clawing out W's all season, only a matter of time before all that scratching with the nails draw blood ![]() 1 positive is your remaining schedule is very weak - opponents like Det & Hou but I doubt they'll get the wildcard, talkess of AFC Championship! lol . . . whatever it is you're smoking, you needs ta stop! lol or give some to A-40, because he'll need to drown out of the current troubles in Dallas ![]() |
A-40, i apologize my karmized jazz did not work for ya'll yesterday . . . a bye week should help in correcting some things to make a strong push in the second half of the season. We'll see, but at this rate you don talk am say the boys might not make the playoffs. The Bears dogded a bullet, the Titans are still perfect and Bawo's fav player Rexy is back! lol Though the Pats lost I feel much better about Cassel. He played well and managed the game. If not for stupid penalties and a dropped TD . . . The Colts in my estimation will not make the playoffs . . . they have no spunk or fire. They scratch for W's and could very easily be 2-6. Ocho cinco, since you're here only when ur boys win, I figure we won't get to see you in here anymore this season, right? ![]() |
You know its a strange world when the Colts and Texans are actually TIED in their division . . . hehe ![]() games this weekend: Jets vs Bills - If jets win they creep up on the pats, if the bills win they overtake the pats . . . what a conundrum! can they both lose? Chi vs Det - Chicago will not have an easier opponent all yr Jax vs Cincy - well Housh guaranteed a victory, but I'm guessing we can't take that to the bank GreenBay vs Ten - I don't think GB is good enough to end the Titans streak Dallas vs Giants - all hell will break loose if the Cowboys don't win Philly vs Seattle - Eagles should pick up this necessary win to stay in the running Patriots vs Indy - if Cassel can go on the road in Indianapolis and win I will finally get off his back MNF Pitt vs Washington - should be a fun game all around, if Big ben can take better care of the ball, 4 INTs last week is not the signature of a smart QB. |
A-40, your Mavs played a good game, but somehow went cold when it mattered the most. The Rockets look sharp, Artest showed why he has been considered a top notch player, I still don't trust him . . . he can decide mid season he wants to work on his rap album, or clash with another player or something . But his production last night was undeniably outstanding. All the top teams so far look good, I'm excited for how things are going to play out this season, I have a feeling it'll be one for the ages. The west will be even tougher than last yr, players cannot take even 1 night off. |
NORBIT NORBIT NORBIT!!! I'm laughing just thinking about it ![]() White Chicks - what a stupidly funny movie Bringing Down the House - "The cool points are out the window and you got me all twisted up in the game" imagine a middle age middle class white male macking on a hot young black woman ![]() Home Alone 1 & 2 - watching it a billion times but still laughing at the "M" burnt onto the guys hand ![]() |
a new moderator? what happened to Siena? I like that dude. |
aomom:aomom, it seems you've seen enough culinary atrocities, at this rate will you be able to eat in any kitchen at all? ![]() |
LASIEFAIRE:no be like so now it was purely for theatrical & extraction purposes and it worked. ![]() eya don't work too hard sha . . . so people are now borrowing your user name and playing games . . . but in case shey na the real LF, good to have you around ![]() |
LASIEFAIRE:E jo, e ma binu I was only doing what it took to bring you out of hiding ![]() A-40, my bad vibes have been tried and proven . . . how do you think the Tampa Bay Rays got beat so easily? ![]() |
LASIEFAIRE LASIEFAIRE LASIEFAIRE where has thou been? O prodigal son? I was about to comb through all the apts overlooking Tokyo Bay just to find ya I hope you've been well and life is just fine |
Tatase:ROTFLOL . . . a humongous eeeewwww! if I'm among people that I cannot trust to accept my "no" and not get upset, then I will be suddenly "allergic" to that food. ![]() 5.) Touching food with bare hands after its cooked. when I go to a restaurant and the food is really well-arranged in the plate, I always say an extra prayer for health and safety.LOL I say 'extra' prayers especially when I'm eating at an african party or Chinese buffett . . . ![]() Just last sunday I happen to be walking round filling my plate at the chinese buffett, I saw this little girl - african - lol, about 8 or 9 years. She was filling her plate then she dropped a piece of food on the wet floor, she picked it up and put it back into the pan containing the food, ready for the next person talk about eeewwww needless to say that was my last plate. |
How is everyone doing? ![]() Obinna all the best with your new endeavors . . . God will bless. ![]() And do we have to send out a search party for Analytical? Where art thou oh brother? ![]() and Kola thanks for this scripture: 16 No king is saved by the multitude of an army; A mighty man is not delivered by great strength. 17 A horse is a vain hope for safety; Neither shall it deliver any by its great strength. 18 Behold, the eye of the LORD is on those who fear Him, On those who hope in His mercy, |
Yup, that's right, unbelieveable huh? It was actually on an episode on Oprah - talk about eye-opening. |
AMAKAONE:I change my sponges every month like clock-work. I dislike those wipe cloths so I go through my paper towels rather quickly - small price to pay to avoid germ infestations . I saw a study once where they found a whole lot more bacteria on a kitchen sponge than they did in the toilet aomom:LOL . . . it seems you've seen some pretty nasty habits . 1 thing I hate is dirty dishes in the sink for days |
Doyin abeg stick a fork in dem Colts - they are done! no playoffs this yr A-40, take heart & keep those fingers crossed . I've been sending enuff bad vibes the Giants way, who knows it might materialize into negative play when they play you guys next wknd . . . and I thot I was the only one who was eerily disturbed by TO's silence . . . what an irony.By the way has anyone seen ![]() |
Chai talk about bad luck . . . Oden had not even played 3mins into his NBA debut and homeboy injures himself again Anyways the Cavs look much better than I expected. I guess this mo williams of a person can actually help in producing some offense. We'll see sha. |
Thanks Chris and you're honest and I like that, keep that level head on those shoulders aight Just let me touch on few things you mentioned. Chrisbenogor:True in the literal sense of it. I'll add that in the sight of God and on the judgement day, for the man who didn't have access to "knowledge", his conscience will be the scale by which he is judged. I plead you to give me verses in the bible that says we will be judged according to what we knowSure its in Romans 2: 12-16 but if you have extra time read from the begining of the chapter for the full gist. New testament and old testament has shown that God really lacks the moral compass we seem to carry as humans and if you read your bible carefully you will see that he usually assumes the nature and temperamen t of the prophet in charge,You know a lotta people have a hard time reconciling a loving, caring, righteous God with some of the events recorded in the OT . . . what we forget is that God is as much loving as He is fearful, as much caring as He is consuming fire, as much as God is to be worshipped, He is to be equally feared.. We only get the fairy-tale description of God in most churches & in the world, they fail to teach that God disperses immense love but God also unleashes intense wrath. And we see this love and wrath all through the OT. So maybe the problem is with our preconceived definition of who God is and His characteristics? instead of starting at ground zero in the bible and building our understanding of God from there, the problem is we've made up a 'moral, loving' box and then tried and failed to fit God into it. God is far beyond the grasp of our human intellect, which is why we need His spirit to indwell us and reveal to our spirit who God is & why certain things He permitted seem so crazy & immoral to us. I think you should ask yourself if it is the same God you all believe in, personally I'd say you all believe in "a" God.Good question, and you're right, some of the far-left of the 30,000 sects don't adhere to the entire bible as it is. Some have wacky & bizarre teachings that I wouldn't go within a 1000 miles of it. Where God will draw the line and say this sect is alright or this sect went too far - Jesoul doesn't know and Jesoul doesn't need to know because I row my own boat & live my own life and will answer for only my life on that day. So I concern myself little with what others are doing. ![]() def good talkin to u oga Chris take care! |
Chris, Chrisbenogor:True and point taken. Let me elaborate a bit further, someone living in a rural area may believe for instance that the earth is flat from all he has seen and he is certain of this, he would not be dishonest if he says it, you see this assumes the first definition, but he cannot use it as a basis to judge a man who lives on mountains and thinks the earth is slopy in nature! Why? because it violates the second definition, it is not a perfect knowledge, he is now being dishonest.A fair & logical scenario if I may say. The problem with it is that you're assuming it is man that is doing the 'judging' instead of an all-knowing God. I know you don't ascribe any authority to the bible but please indulge me for a minute. It's an important principle many people miss The bible teaches in Romans 2 "Those people who don't know about God's Law will still be punished for what they do wrong. Some people naturally obey the Law's commands, even though they don't have the Law. This proves that the conscience is like a law written in the human heart. And it will show whether we are forgiven or condemned Do you see the above my dear Chris? Being loving, kind, generous etc are not just biblical teachings, they are 'natural' to us all. In your scenario, the man who lives in the rural area will be judged according to his conscience, and so will the man living in the hills - although they've both been exposed to limited truths about the world around them. The all-knowing God because He's aware of each man's limitations will judge each man according to his conscience & what he knew! I hope this makes sense. At this point you might ask what is a perfect knowledge, I like to call it a belief that is general and holds true for everyone regardless of race or religion. Good examples are the various physical laws we have today and even as established and as universal as these laws are, if they are found wanting they scrapped. So my dear your faith falls within the first category,There is no doubt it is "found wanting" according to 'accepted' worldly standards. I have already conceded that I cannot 'prove' my faith because faith in itself is not tangible and is self-evident (or not) to each individual man. the bible says if you have faith and you say mountains should move they would move, that is not obtainable in the real world, if you really had faith like you were telling mazaje you would sit at home and pray when you are sick, is that what we find majority of christians doing today? No! You look for drugs, you turn to things you have real confidence in and not pseudo confidence, and confidence comes from evidence, evidence comes from proof of a PERFECT KNOWLEDGE that is what reigns supreme.and if you re-read that verse you'll quickly realize Jesus wasn't speaking 'literally' but moreso figuratively. Another misconception: I challenge you to point to me one place in the bible where it advocates prayer divorced from action. You will not find it anywhere, it is a twisted teaching of man to pray pray n pray without getting off your behind and doing something about it. The bible is just as much spiritual as it is practical. Read the story of Nehemiah, you'll be amazed at how practical he was - he prayed and then picked up his spear to defend himself. He prayed for God's help and then organized the isrealites & went to build the temple, every prayer was complimented with a physical & practical action. I pray for God's guidance in my life, for a good life and joy and comfort - does this mean I stay home on the couch reciting prayers and not going out to work? No. I work hard and God blesses me with strength and ability to do so. Here is a little brian teaser, there are 30000 sects in christianity and if someone belongs to one what is the probablity that the person is doing what is right as regards serving God,lol . . . there is a 100% chance there is at least 1 thing in my life I'm doing wrong. We're all human and no one is perfect and has all the answers, but where you won't find me wanting - or any of the other 30,000 sects - is that we failed to believe in God. |
Mazaje, I look at your above post and I understand you. Your reasoning is reasonable, your questions - they are valid, your concerns are not unfounded, your thinking is logical . . . you're missing just one thing in all your searching and reasearching - Faith. I had remarked to you once that no christian can prove God to you because it is a matter of faith, not one of showing tangible evidence. It is by Faith we believe God to be true - not just a belief now - it is an unshakable confidence, because once you come to God, He reveals Himself to you in a real and personal way, and confirms His sovereignty over all. Now does Jesoul have all the answers? no. But I don't need to. why? because by faith I know God to be just and righteous and will deal with each one of us fairly. Whether I grew up Hindu or Atheist. Whether I died without ever hearing the name Jesus, God is still just and will deal with each person justly. |
Chrisbenogor:that statement is so definite I'm sure you must have some 'proof' to back it up, or not so? or else you would immediately see you're guilty of the same thing you're accusing christians. How are YOU sure your understanding of "how it really is" is the correct one? we're quickly heading for an impasse here. I cannot "prove" the authenticity of the Christian faith according to your standard becos that's not how God works, and neither can you prove that your view is indeed the right one.Your position becomes dishonest when you apply it outside christianity, because using the bible to judge a muslim is being dishonest too.I'm not sure I follow your line of reasoning here, care to explain further? I hope you can see what I am saying but lets not derail.I believe I mentioned this earlier but I'll replay it: The biblical definition goes like this in Heb 11:1 "Faith makes us sure of what we hope for and gives us proof of what we cannot see". You see Chris, it all comes down to Faith, faith is my evidence, it is my proof - to me - that God is real and almighty. This is why no one can 'prove' the existence of God to someone else. Each person has to search & find it out for themselves. |
Chris, I can say with every fibre of my being that I have never ever doubted the existence of God. Even as a child, it just made sense to me, in my heart. I can also honestly say that there are many things within the bible that I have struggled to understand and comprehend, but do I doubt that the bible is still the word of God? and that every word is still true? no sir I don't. And if you define my rock solid faith as being "dishonest with myself" then that'll be too bad. I just showed you that as a christian you're not afforded the false luxury of doubt, it just doesn't exist to us. The same bible teaches that a man who doubts, "a double minded man is unstable in all his ways, and he will not receive anything from God." |
ROTFLOL . . . . poster you are hilarious But on the serious side, you're right its a bad habit. My mum did it all the time when we were growing up but I haven't seen any of my friends do it . . . maybe its the company you keep? and no biggie, just tell your future wife that you don't like it and she shouldn't have any prob stopping it.I myself don't do it cos it is digusting to me myself to have my own spit in the food, whether or not it is only me eating it. Anyways, good luck! lol . . . |
Doyin, I imagine the kind of trouble maker you must be The Pats will make the playoffs (AMEN AMEN!) and you'll eat crow *insert evil laugh here*I've been saying the chargers are posers. Teams like Det and Oak have a reason to suck but SD with all that pride and talent, a daggone shame. LT is done. He's just as diluted and weak as the soups he's eating in those Campbells commercials. And it's not too much of a stretch to pick Washington to win the NFC east - they've certainly shown they have the spine to do so. It'll be fun to watch this season wrap up - for those who don't make it, it will be circ-stacular! @MNF - the Titans are for REAL! Still undefeated. Maybe people will start talking about them now? they're still somehow under the radar despite their flawless record. and as for the colts - they can kiss the playoffs goodbye, because it ain't happening this yr. |
A-40, yes oh I'm a temporary Phillie . . . until spring training then the affair will be over . And I hear say the cowboys might be benching good ol' Brad Johnson for the the 3rd string QB? monster game against the Giants next wk.Bawo, au contraire, you meant the rain saved the Rays from receiving the complete 4-1 spanking? The Phils will end it tonight. As for Westbrook, he's def earning his pay with all that mileage BUT what happens when the eagles play against a good defensive team that nullifies his running game? You can't have a 1-dimensional offense. Apart from injuries McNabb woulda had a much more storied career. To me while Brian is no doubt a huge piece of their attack, McNabb is still a bigger piece. And as soon as he goes to a smarter team that knows how to take full advantage of his skills, we'll really see how much of a talent he is. |
