who says you're no longer welcome? cheesy

what we're tired of is ur incessant, unrelenting obsession with discrediting christianity. We're tired of you posting millions of topics and never staying long enuff to thoroughly engage in discussion & respond to the answers that are given to you, before running off to start a new confused topic.

You are welcome, and people will embrace and discuss with you. But you must stop this madness! angry or else you won't find anyone that pays any attention to you.

If Chad Johnson goes to the Patriots. . . .then i will go on a Columbine Bostonian spree
lol. . . ocho cinco baby! feel free to come to boston, you would do well as Randy's partner in crime.

Do you honestly believe that Bonds or Clemens would not have been big stars without the steroids. Its a moot point but i suspect they would have been fine. Maybe would not have put on the career numbers.
home run king or three hundred wins and all that malarky but i suspect they would have done jus great. . .
oh I think they were definately big time stars without the juice, but the drugs imho pushed them to legendary status. See how big those guys got over the yrs? its usually the reverse. people loose steam with age, not become the likeness of the incredible hulk!

Oh b t w. . .please tell me you hate, ok considering your cherubic qualities, at least dislike A-Rod.
you know me well baby! grin
A-Rod is a selfish, self-centered human being. It's easy to dislike him. Imagine announcing his opt-out in the middle of game7 world-series, then asking mlb teams to cough up 350mil? then crawling back to the yankees, begging for forgiveness and kissing their behind. . . all in the name of the dollar! I have no respect for A-rod at all oh!

God forgive me. . .I hope he has a career threatening injury to stop him from breaking the home run record.

if only ken griffey had been healthy. . . he would have been a worthy successor to hank aron. . .sweetest swing in baseball
I know! worthy indeed! Ken G is a lovable human being, I hope he can salvage and make good use of whatever yrs he has left in the majors.

But Jesoul, you must remember that when these people took these steroids, they were not strictly breaking the rules
under the very lax substance policies of the game. . .
You right it wasn't illegal then and they can never be 'punished' for it BUT they knew what they were doing was wrong - otherwise they would not have done it secretly. They knew it gave them an unfair edge over their competitors and they went along and did it anyways. That's morally wrong.
Even one former yankee pitcher came forward (not a well known guy, I forget his name) and said that if he'd never used steroids he woulda never made it into AA, not to talk of even the major league. That was someone's spot he took that didn't cheat with steroids.

B T W. . .did you jus hear that Manny, Big Papi and Beckett jus got traded. . . tongue
ah ah why you go scare me like that now? I just went to espn.com to make sure you were just joking,  smiley
Manny traded maybe, but Boston is in love with Papi, I guarantee you he will not be traded anytime soon. As for 'prospects' almost the whole sphere of sports is in a "win now" mode.

People would rather have a kevin garnett now than hope for a greg oden blossoming in the future. A Chad johnson now than a future 1st rd pick etc. . . you catch my drift?  wink
SportsRe: Do You Believe Roger Clemens Didn't Take Steriods? by JeSoul(op): 8:27pm On Feb 14, 2008
probably for the reason the sports governing body does not have the kind of power the congress does.
If they lie to congress, they can be prosecuted for perjury, but if they lie to Bulig selig and other baseball authorities, there'll be no repercussions.

I know there's hundreds of much more important things to take care of but it doesn't mean we can't still regulate and investigate our sports. Though not to the degree of assigning too much time and funds to it.
SportsRe: Do You Believe Roger Clemens Didn't Take Steriods? by JeSoul(op): 8:07pm On Feb 14, 2008
yeah all the africans I know can't understand why baseball is called a sport! lol I dunno, but I sure like it! smiley

anyways, I agree that taped conversation was very suspect. No hint of a retraction by Mcnamee and nuthin about him having lied. Why won't Clemens just give up the charade?

and i kind of agree congress has more pressing issues to attend to but I admit I also want to know is he did it. At least 4 of his cy young awards must be returned - just like marion jones returned her medals. It's even worse for someone who's presented himself as "perfect", i can't wait for him to fall flat on his face!

now I'm off to go test those "bloody syringes and beer cans for dna!" grin

I know there must be at least 1 person on nairaland besides me who follows baseball.

So how about it? do you believe Roger didn't take steroids?

I think he's an arrogant ________ and lying thru his teeth! he did take it, especially since Andy Pettitte came out and said Roger told him he took them. So far McNamee has been proven right in all his accusations. Why is Clemens still lying? just admit it and ask forgiveness. We all saw what happened to Marion Jones - she denied it for yrs only to come out and cry that she did.

so far the reasons I've gotten include:

1. It is in your genes

2. Sports is a means of relaxation

3. Sports is better than women becos it is cheaper

4. I don't know

5. You love competition

6. It's a masculine thing, it brings out the real "man" in a man

YES IT HELPS.
b/c i don't speak in tongues. honestly i'm not sure i've ever aspired to speak in tongues. the people who speak in tongues are not encouraging me to aspire to have the gift. their lifestyle doesnt encourage me at all.

those i've met o, not all of them cool
don't let those people's lifestyle discourage you from aspiring to speak in tongues. If you desire to have it and use it to glorify God, then ask God for the gift. smiley
Paul encouraged that we should eagerly aspire for spiritual gifts but moreso the greater gift of prophecy.

1Cor 14:5 I would like every one of you to speak in tongues, but I would rather have you prophesy. He who prophesies is greater than one who speaks in tongues, unless he interprets, so that the church may be edified
vs18: I thank God that I speak in tongues more than all of you. But in the church I would rather speak five intelligible words to instruct others than ten thousand words in a tongue.

Please, this is a genuine question for clarification. No offence meant whtsoever and so, would appreciate if al contribution to this tread is relevant. Anyone who see this as an opportunity to criticise christianity should clear out. Your opinion is not needed. Once again, no offence meant.

many thanks
I love an honest question. smiley

"Speaking in tongues is the New Testament phenomena where a person or persons speaks in a language that is unknown to him." I quote that from a friend of mine.
Speaking in tongues is meant for the edification of the church as well as for the glorification of God.

Speaking in tongues is a result of when the holyspirit comes upon a person, some people errorneously say it is the result of receiving the holy spirit and that every believer must speak in tongues. But the bible explicitly states that not all have been given the gift of speaking in tongues. So don't question ur faith if you've never spoken in tongues.

There is a lot of misuse and abuse of tongues in churches today. But it is very important to know that tongues must be interpreted when done in a public setting (church) and that no more than 2-3 people must speak in total. Don't look suprised it is stated clearly in the bible. So when you go to churches and everyone is praying in tongues, others no one interprets- that goes against the command we've been given in the bible.

there is no need for interpretation when praying in privacy to God.

Hope this helps! grin

do you think the money, fame, philantrophy, philosphy will matter on the last day? No it won't. Only what is done for Christ and in the name of Christ holds value in the sight of God. Everything else is righteousness that is as filthy as rags and utterly worthless in the view of eternity.

Very insightful of u and helpful 2.

So you all must understand suffering, pain and death only makes sense when you know and understand God and that it is 100% of the time for your own good, and indeed a priviledge as long as you're a christian who is trusting and hoping in Christ.
Philippians 1:29

michelin89:
How can evil exist in a world created by a perfect good being who can't create anything that isn't good?

The more you insist evil is an entity of its own, the more you enforce the idea that your god isn't the perfect being. For him to be perfect, there should be nothing like evil.
The answer to your question is very easy michelin and it is found in
Ecclesiastes 7:29 "This only have I found: God made mankind upright, but men have gone in search of many schemes."

God created everything good, everything perfect in its original form
Because of Adam's disobedience in the garden of eden that's when sin entered the world thru man and messed everything up! This should clear up your queries.

Because God said in the koran 3v85" And whoever seeks a religion other than the great religion, it will never be accepted of him. and in the hereafter he will be one of the losers. so as to say if you are a christian, pagan, jedaism, etc. you all will be of the losers. Jesus you christians claim that you follow was a a great one befor he died so as all the prophet sent by God also are great ones.
erhmm correction,
the god of the koran is not God. Just wanted to point that out  wink. And since he is not the true God, nuthin he said should be taken seriously.

unreasonable no, it's very much the human response. I totally get what you mean, sometimes when you're in a bad mood, people smiling and being happy can be annoying. I do feel that way sometimes.

BUT

that smiling christian does have the answer! for us christians we don't worry about life, money, whatever why? not becos we're all rich and have it all together and have no problems, no. But becos we're trusting God to supply our needs and His peace which passes all natural understanding is what keeps us smiling like we won the lottery. grin

Philippians 4:7
And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus

John 14:27
