Last season was a fluke eh. . .you wish. the first meeting was without S. Jackson, Dirk's worst nightmare.
I still take the Warriors in a seven game series

---------I hear Brady has been sited in Monrovia. A treat from Gisele.

---------About the Celts. Dont let Jesoul hear, but I don't see anyone in the East stopping them. Last night was an aberation
and no team will be scoring that much against a pretty good defensive team. But they need a point guard to spell Rondo who
seems quite fragile.
too late I already heard! what brilliant analysis from sir Doyin grin
yeah that game was a freak of nature. . .but issall good we're 3-1 against them this season considering how they killed us last yr. If we meet them in the playoffs, we'll spank their butts back across the border! cheesy

A-40 - I concur, I think last season was a fluke for GS as well. the playoffs looks tough to get into and I don't think they have the depth - the west is so much more competitive this season. If I had to bet I'd go Dallas too. . .they hafta regain some pride and respect after that shameful dismissal.

No worries 'bout brady's foot, it's much ado about nuthin. Dude is fine and enjoying the attention I'm sure. And I don tell am before Gisele's juju is not strong enuff to shake tom terrific grin

And wait till you meet the Wizards hopefully in the first round. I don't even require my clairvoyant powers to
realise how that would end up. grin

On a serious note though------the warriors are a breadth of fresh air in the league as are the Suns and the Blazers and the Hornets.

They might not win but principles are not compromised and for that they will always get my respect.

As a matter of fact the Celtics wished they played like these teams. . .but rigor mortis is alredy setting in tongue
grin for the record, I like Doyindamus much more than 13 grin.
You're right in that they are exciting BUT "exciting" is not what matters - it's winning that counts!!! just ask the Spurs. wink
Besides I think the celtics will get more and more lively not less - this is only their first yr together. But guess will see. . . Now Blazers and NO get my respect. I like what they've done unseating the "western conference powers" and taking the lead- the NBA is unpredictable this yr and I like that.

Wizards? not scared of them. We whopped them by 20+ points 1st game of the season. In a 7-game series, my husband Garnett will dominate those boards. so mr clairvoyant - check that crystal ball again- betting against Boston teams never turns out good- just ask the Red Sox.

LMAO,

hehe, Edwards is a figure-head - that's why he's perfect for Obama! lol. Someone who can bring in not a huge crowd but just enough votes/support for Obama to win.
cheesy they better strike that deal now abi? lol.

At the end of the day I think the only way the dems can win the house of white is to have a Clinton/Obama ticket. That would be formiddable and almost certainly unbeatable like IykeD put it, this process increases his value and will win whatever votes Hillary doesn't already have.
PoliticsRe: Obama Would Fair Better As Vice President? by JeSoul(f): 6:02pm On Jan 21, 2008
cheesy hehe, Edwards is a figure-head - that's why he's perfect for Obama! lol. Someone who can bring in not a huge crowd but just enough votes/support for Obama to win. He's influential in his own right. and frankly I don't see any of the other Democrats (besides maybe Richardson) "stooping" down to become Obama's vice, they all have monster egos with Hillary at the top. lol.

But I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Kerry to jump in as vice- he's been dying to get in the white house - here's his chance
PoliticsRe: Obama Would Fair Better As Vice President? by JeSoul(f): 5:53pm On Jan 21, 2008
SegunTX:
@ Jesoul,

Who do you suppose Obama would pick for vice president (supposing he is nominated)? I am trying to think but I no sabi.

Another thing way cross my mind be say Clinton may not want to use Obama, but rather decide to use Bill Richardson in a desperate attempt to secure Hispanic votes.

I really want to know who you think go be vice for Obama though?
It's hard to say. If he gets the dem nomination he'll need a very influential person becos he cannot win against the Reps riding on his own charisma and draw alone. I think he'll stand a much better chance with Edwards vs Richardson.

or maybe he'll fish out John Kerry to join him - since kerry has already given him his support. Now that would be intresting to see!
PoliticsRe: Obama Would Fair Better As Vice President? by JeSoul(f): 4:43pm On Jan 21, 2008
from Jesoul:
Now one intresting scenario would be if Hillary won the nomination and Obama jumped on her ticket as the vice-president candidate, that combination might pull of a victory. and then in 4/8 years Obama would gun for the presidency, it's a win-win scenario for both of them- maybe not for america though.
no be wetin I dey talk since that last thread? Anyways on to your questions:

If Obama were to be nominated: Do you seriously think that America is ready for a black president?
No I honestly don't think so but I could be proven wrong.

Do you seriously think that Obama would be able to edge out John Mccain (my probable nominee from Republicans), Mitt Romney, or Mike Huckabee?
Nope don't think he can edge out McCain or Romney but Huckbee is very beatable because of his religious beliefs which influence his policies and polarizes a good chunk of america.

Who would become Obama's vice, Clinton?? NO WAY; Edwards?? Would be greatest mistake of Obama.
Bill Clinton's support for Obama would be zilch (zero), and that would make it even more difficult for him to win.
Hillary will never say yes to be Obama's vice- over her dead body! cheesy There's way too much bad blood and she has way too much pride to settle for the vice ticket. It would be more likely Obama would accept the vice position but not Hillary.

The truth of the matter is that Obama for president sounds good on paper, but I so much believe that he is best suited as the Vice president, by so doing, himself and Hillary would form a formidable force, and would have the votes of Independents and youths, whom I believe would play a vital role in who becomes president.
Obama and Hillary will def win the whitehouse, both of them combined will be too much for any republican.
Besides they would offer a stiffer opposition for the Republicans. I want the Democrats to win, and the only way is Clinton for President, Obama for vice.
na wetin I dey talk since last yr oh my brotha, we go see sha.

I have a story, both of fire and housing collapse. In both cases the Qur'an did not have a single bruise in the fire and in the effort of the fire fighter trying to stop the inferno with water. As I was permitted to inspect the damaged house, right inside the ruins, I was able to pick up my Qur'an, and smelled it; to the touch it was dry and there was no sign of being inside the inferno. As I removed it, and left the house, the whole house engulfed again and burnt to the ground!

The second incidence was a Masjid collapsing. In all of the ruins, there was no single dust that settled on the stack of Qur'ans on the shelves. Also amazing was that there was none of the wall hangings with Allah's name, Muhammad (as) or any Verse of the Qur'an fell down, eventhough the whole roof caved in. And finally there was no real injury on any person, that could be considered serious enough. Places was a house in Newark NJ in the very early 90s and the Masjid is Masjid Al Salaam in Jersey City in 99! Both cities are in the state of New Jersey, USA.

Wouldnt it be nice to see Eli go up against Rivers in the Super bowl, considering the hullabaloo on draft day over the two.
nah that was a good ol'fashioned loss huh not sure why they let Wash go on a 16-4 or something like that run to end the game. But no tears yet, no team goes thru an 82game season without struggling sometimes,

Doyindamus, not so fast yet, yeah it would be 'nice' to see Eli vs. Rivers but not this year my brotha. Not this year - Pats are destined for 19-0  grin - can't you see that in your crystal ball? eh, Doyindamus? grin

Christianity EtcRe: Lovemaking After Traditional Wedding Only: Is This Fornication? by JeSoul(f): 9:49pm On Jan 14, 2008
Iyes,
There's no place for "pastoral blessing" as a pre-requisite for a valid marriage!
I have been reading all the posts and waiting patiently for someone to say this clearly, THANK YOU JARE!!! But I will also add that for a christian, marriage needs to be legal in the eyes of God as well as in the eyes of the government, so yes you need those certificates when applicable.

And also about parental consent, it's not always as clear cut as some people have demanded here. One of my best friends (a christian) wanted to get married but his parents are not christians and not really involved in his life and not really in the picture. Her mother was not a christian and her father not really a part of her life.

So what was he supposed to do? not marry her because he did not get "consent" from both her parents and his parents?
what if her/his parents who are not christians oppose the marriage for no 'godly' reason? are they supposed to break up and call it quits?

Every situation is unique and a christian should use God's wisdom and the holyspirit to discern what the right thing to do is.

Frankly I don't think it matters if she wins or obama wins the nomination. America will not select a "half-frican" american (like one radio talkshow host put it) or a woman, not just yet. When it comes down to it, america will show her true color, you'll see.
