tbaba1234: ^ Yes, I do remember your response.

I am addressing what seems to be at least in my opinion an unfair treatment and It is not necessarily directed to you or your other Mod...

I might be wrong but i just get the vibe that things are not exactly fair..

I do not intend to misrepresent you or your actions, and i might be totally off the mark here.

But i get the impression that there is some kind of bias, Whether it is done by any of the Mods or Seun.
...and is it "fair" that the muslims only have a seperate section? since you want to speak about 'fair'. It'll do a whole lot of good to try to see things from the perspective of the mods & admin. Things are not always black & white and this is what we deal with, and sometimes you'll agree or disagree with a decision regarding a thread, that is simply life my brother.

^and when you complained here https://www.nairaland.com/505782/questions-comments-complaints-talk-moderators/31#10903878

I replied you that is was Seun who moved your topic though I felt it should've stayed and had left it for a very long time till he moved it. I'm disappointed you're now trying to misrepresent what happened and slight the mods there.

tbaba1234: Why did you move this away from the religion section? It is designed for a non-muslim audience

https://www.nairaland.com/802617/questions-muslims-those-who-want
JeSoul: Hey Tbaba,
hope you're doing well brother. Seun moved it. Remember we had this discussion about muslim topics in the religion section including that particular thread? up till now we've been exercising judgement in leaving certain muslim topics here in the general section. It seems he wants us to follow the rule more strictly from here on.
IslamRe: Lodge Your Complaints Here by JeSoul(f): 5:39pm On Sep 13, 2012
As of right now I'm not aware of any muslim threads in my section that have not been moved. In the past I was leaving such threads that are generally aimed towards the 'general audience' but Seun has insisted we move all of them now.
Christianity EtcRe: How Literally Do You Take The Bible? by JeSoul(f): 5:36pm On Sep 13, 2012
Obi1kenobi: A simple question for the anyone (believer or non-believer) on nairaland. Do you believe the universe was created in 7 days? Do you believe Adam and Eve are the progeny of the entire human race? Tracing the genealogy of Christ from Adam and Eve, human civilization as we know it is 6000 years old - do you really believe this to be true? Do you believe in the Tower of Babel: that thousands of years ago, men could build a sky scraper reaching the clouds which resulted in the punishment that creates the anthropological differences between various ethnicities and races today? Do you believe in the Great Flood and Noah's ark and that Noah was able to round up the hundreds of millions of animal species into his ark in his conservation efforts?

I could go on but to be brief, just how literally do you interpret the Bible as the incontrovertible, unequivocal word of God?
The problem is the bible does not say the things you listed, your interpretation of it does - outside of the very direct & oft simple teachings of Jesus Christ in the gospels, the bible can be tricky to understand, and even trickier to apply to today's times - considering how fluid & dynamic language is, ever changing with each generation & culture.
IslamRe: Lodge Your Complaints Here by JeSoul(f): 5:19pm On Sep 13, 2012
Maclatunji,
I moved the thread to your section as Seun dictates that all threads regarding muslims or islam belong here. Not trying to infringe on your section at all but it belongs here. Cheers.

@topic,
Both were dry jare...but this is coming from someone who watched only bits & pieces. I think the Democratic one was better as in the speakers appeared to be more fired up. Mass gov Deval Patrick was so red he looked like he was about to burst several veins...we all know he was laying the groundwork for a future stab at a presidential or vice-presidential run...goodluck cadillac Patrick, I laugh in Joe Biden-ese cheesy. And the hispanic dude too...also bricklaying in hopes to become the 1st hispanic american president...you too I wish you goodluck jonathan cheesy.

Anyways...Obama appeared to have gotten a beeny bounce in the polls, I'm curious to see how long it'll last. Americans are notorious for their short term memory.

Christianity EtcRe: TD Jakes’ Daughter Ends Her 4-year Marriage by JeSoul(f): 4:31pm On Sep 11, 2012
k2039: I saw it coming,
the only reason he had to marry him was because she was knocked up at age 14
Well not really. She got pregnant at 14 but didn't marry him until 19...seems she could've easily married someone else.

@topic,
Teenage pregnancies and divorce are issues that are very real and very prevalent in today's society - the fact that it happened to a popular preachers kid doesn't necessarily tell bad on him, but rather shows that his family is just like everyone elses and is susceptible to the same issues the rest of us face. In my opinion, it merely shows they are human like the rest of us. This should not be a time for others to kick them in the gut while they're down.

She may have gotten pregnant at 14, but she's gone on and become a solid woman raising her kids, getting a graduate degree, involved in charities, working in a professional setting, appearing on national tv etc etc...this shows courage and heart despite making a terrible mistake so young, it doesn't mean her life ended, but rather a chance to turn it around and make something good out of it.

Divorce is unfortunate, but in some cases necessary, and for a preachers kid who's gone thru a public shaming in the past, I'm sure she didn't reach her decision lightly. From her statement (and life so far) I'm sure she has truly exhausted all options and it is her duty to protect herself & her kids.

Here's a video where both her and her dad talk about the pregnancy. I find both of them very honest & well spoken, we can all learn a thing or two about dealing with making terrible mistakes and how to handle it.

No wahala at all.

You finding certain beliefs foolish ranks about the same as what the one-legged cockroach that lives in the crack of Emeka's vulcanizing shop in ajegunle thinks about Planck's Law in quantum mechanics...completely irrelevant.

Christianity EtcRe: Would You Be Offended If Your Pastor Preached From Their Ipad? by JeSoul(f): 5:45pm On Sep 10, 2012
Acidosis: But I am not of the world..
You can not deny the fact that your church members & pastors surf social sites like facebook during sermons..

Satan is a tricky idi.ot, you know?.. His plan is to get us busy with the inter and intra net such that christians would be soooo lazy to take their bible out for evangelism..
And you and I know you really can't win a soul to christ on the net.. This minute you are preaching to him, next minute you both are seeing adds that can either distract you or lead you/him to sin..
As I suspected...your fight is not truly against technology - but rather the distraction it can cause - and this is a valid point. And you should try to seperate the two brother.

MacDaddy01: A little off topic but still relevant;

As an educated woman, do you honestly believe in that prayer wall nonsense? If God is almighty as you say he is do you really need to write prayers on aphone and send them to people to pray? Cant god read your mind? Or cant the person pray himself or pray with his/her peeps? What is the practical use of sending prayer requests around the world? Is god so narcissistic that he answers prayers only when enough people have sent it around the world and have prayed together?
You already know what I believe. No wahala if you find it strange...I think people who eat rotten milk that is growing bacteria otherwise known as cheese - are strange.
Christianity EtcRe: Would You Be Offended If Your Pastor Preached From Their Ipad? by JeSoul(f): 5:17pm On Sep 10, 2012
Acidosis: Some Pastors now want to rely on all the new technological gizmos. Personally, I'll be offended..don't like the idea of Pastors preaching after downloading series of ebooks, and bible pages from the net.

Its nothing but a distraction Satan is using to cause many not to listen to the voice of God. Texting, playing games, surfing the internet, etc., but if you have the Bible open, you cannot just push a button or touchscreen and surf, etc.

Imaging praying and casting out demons with ipad..?

&

Can the members also drop their Bible? atleast they have Bible apps on their phones
Oga, I'd like to introduce you to the 21st century smiley.

If your concern is pastors & sheep alike being distracted during fellowship then your concern is a valid one - but if it is merely a gripe against the use of technological devices... same way someone would've been screaming about speakers and screen projectors as 'of the devil' decades ago.

And yes I can imagine praying & casting out demons with the ipad...there's this app(and there are many many like it) I have on my iphone, its called "PrayerWall", people from all over the world post their prayer requests and others pray for them. Are you going to say God cannot answer prayers like that?

Like I said, I'd like to introduce you to the 21st century, she's a pretty cool girl.

I too silently followed your story on that thread. I found myself on off days thinking & praying for such a strong woman, checking in often to see your progress. Foreign AffairsRe: Barack Obama's Speech At The DNC 2012 by JeSoul(f): 6:34pm On Sep 07, 2012
Politicians will say anything to get your vote. As someone already aptly said do not be moved by speeches but rather actions in office. He most likely didn't even write the speech anyways, he's merely reciting and performing what his speechwriters composed, and they did a very good job with it by the way.

Nairaland GeneralRe: Banned Again At The Islam Section by JeSoul(f): 6:12pm On Sep 07, 2012
MacDaddy01: I agree with you. Unfortunately it is a sad thing that Islam has to be treated as a special religion and therefor, it gets its own section free from non-muslim criticism. This is the height of intolerance.
Well, the fear of fatwa is the begining of....lol. We can't blame Seun for trying to protect himself & his investment.

Another problem is the one of "blaming others". People are complaining of maclatunji and Vedaxcool is here blaming Jesoul and manmustwacc. huh huh huhhow does that make sense in Vedaxcool's head? When someone mentions boko haraam, Vedaxcool will mention the war in Iraq and how American christians are bad. smh
Lets just say you have to learn very quickly not to waste your time with certain posts/posters.

However, this doesn mean that I wont debunk you if you try your christian shenanigans cool
Haha....I'd like to see you try dude.

Logicboy thanks getting our(MMW & I) backs, much appreciated my atheist brother smiley...

Jarus: Outsiders that respect the rules and sensibilities of the hosts.

After all, Toba and Aloy emeka frequent the section and don't get banned.
Part of my reason for leaving this thread open was this, to get one of the mods attention. I don't like to interfere with how other mods run their section so I hope this doesn't come off as such.

Logicboy will testify that I have defended maclatunji in the past (and I don't even know the guy, neither have I had any exchange/discourse with him ever on NL) because I know mods get a bad rap a lot of the time for no good reason & its a thankless job. But the complaints have kept on coming and from different posters. I guarantee you engaging these posters will be far more effective in changing perception than 'silencing' them. At the end of the day, it is the Islam section for muslims, and as always my advice to complaining posters is to simply leave the space for the muslims to be.

cheers & thanks for saying your 2 cents.
