Business › From A Humble N500 Start To A Thriving Enterprise: How It All Started. by Jetland(op): 1:38pm On Nov 11, 2023*. Modified: 1:56pm On Nov 11, 2023 |
I didn't plan to share this here before, but I later decided to write this. Who knows? It may be a path to some people's financial breakthrough. In January this year, my friend, whom I affectionately refer to as "My Baby," told me that she wanted to start a data reselling business. Initially, I was quick to rebuke her because, to me, I didn't see any sense in going into the data reselling business when the profit per gigabyte ranged from 50 Naira to 100 Naira. At that time, she had just graduated from the university and was about to go for her NYSC. However, her determination to venture into the business left me with no option but to agree. After we had agreed that she would start the business, I remember asking her how much she needed to start, and she replied with just N500. As soon as she mentioned N500, I burst into laughter, but I quickly composed myself to avoid offending her. To cut the story short, she started the business. I still vividly recall her first customer who wanted to buy 5GB worth of data. She didn't have enough funds in her wallet to fulfill the order, and I was in the process of sending her some money when she assured me that she would ask the customer to make payment first before delivering the data. The customer sent the money, and she used it to fund her account. That's how she began her journey in the business, gradually growing her customer base. In August this year, she approached me with the idea of having her own VTU website to streamline the process of selling data to her customers. I was initially skeptical, thinking she couldn't have earned enough to set up a VTU website. However, when she showed me her account balance, I was amazed. I decided to help her set up the website because she had convinced me that there was silent money in the business. The most interesting part is that when I buy data from her, I usually let her keep the change. It's not just me; many people think that data resellers are struggling to make ends meet. Surprisingly, some data resellers are more financially stable than those in traditional white-collar jobs. Currently, she is in a league of her own. I've set up her website, which you can find at ===>> https://faithdataconnect.com.ng, and even built the app version of her website. I've also joined her in the business, so transactions keep flowing even when we're asleep. What I've come to understand is that making massive profits in a business doesn't depend on the profit per unit of the product you're selling; it depends on how many customers you can attract. Let me provide an example: I know a man who sells 50,000 gigabytes per day. He has many data resellers on his website, and each reseller can sell up to 50 gigs a day. He makes only 2 Naira per gig on his website, selling MTN 1 gig for 215 Naira and reselling it for 217 Naira to his resellers, who, in turn, sell it for 250 to 300 Naira. Some even sell it for 350 Naira per gig. Let's do the math: If the man sells 50,000 gigs per day, making only 2 Naira on each gig, that's 50,000 gigs x 2 Naira, which equals 100,000 Naira per day. To achieve this milestone isn't that simple; it requires some hard work and smart thinking. Even if you can't make that much, earning 5-10k per day is still significant, with room for improvement. Why did I share this here? Firstly, I shared this for the sake of those who are jobless and looking for an opportunity. Secondly, to promote this business. The beauty of this business is that you don't need money to start; customers have to pay upfront, and once they do, you can use the funds to fulfill their data orders. If you want to buy CHEAP internet data, utility bills, cable subscriptions, exam pins, etc., create your account on https://faithdataconnect.com.ngOur customer support service is top-notch.

Crime › Re: How I Was Falsely Accused Of Stealing A Guy's Genitals Yesterday by Jetland(m): 9:46am On Nov 11, 2023 |
Kalatium: No sooner was I on my way leaving the market, after buying all what I need and ticking all the items on my list than a stranger came out of the blue to accuse me of stealing his penis.
I won't say the state this happened.
At first I didn't clearly understood what he meant because he initially said, I should return what left his body.
What looked like a funny claim in my ear turned serious as he started shouting and calling the attention of passers by. People started encircling us and the guy who accused me said we are going to police station, I was like why will I follow you to station when I didn't do anything wrong.
One of the passers by said I should just follow him if I know I am truly Innocent since the station is not far. I had no choice that to follow them to prove my innocence ( the accuser and the passer-by) with many thoughts on my mind. On our way I resolved to call all the important people I know that can get me out of this mess. I first dialed my dad's number and started explaining what was going on before the guy said I should cut the call that we must go to that station or else he will collect my phone.
Eventually we arrived there, and met two police men inside the station compound, then my accuser started laying claim of his stolen manhood story. I was called to narrate what happened and I told them I just left the market gate after purchasing all I needed from the market only to be falsely accused.
The two officer took us inside the station to write a statement. After the accuser narrated his story once more, one of the officer was laughing. The police asked what I do for a living and I told him I am a medical Doctor and the hospital I work. He asked the accuser same question who said he is a university student and doesn't stay far from the market. He asked of both our phone numbers and also gave out his number to us. Then he asked the accuser to put his hand in his trouser to confirm if his manhood is there, the guy touched and the manhood was there.
He then started saying that initially he didn't feel anything there that there have been cases like that in his school and that he was shocked that the thing happened to him that's why he dragged the case to the station.
The police then said that he has been hearing about this stealing of manhood and that people can do diabolical things for money. However, it could also be that his mind might be playing tricks on him as such he felt his penis might be missing when it actuality it is actually there.
The police man said I should go that since the guy has confirmed his penis is intact, there is no case. He said I shouldn't be annoyed that if I were in the guy's shoes I might as well do the same . He also said that it could be that it actually happened but me being there at the wrong time and being there when he felt such that he will easily take the person close by as the culprit. I felt relieved but at the same time angry for been falsely accused and my time wasted for something as dumb as this.
When we were going outside the station, the guy who falsely accused me was dragging his foot and kept working very slow such that I was at a far distance in the front. The passer-by that followed us early was apologizing to me, that I shouldn't be angry.
Damn, I was just feeling different emotions. However, I thank God nothing happened to me ( I wasn't hurt and no mob action or jungle justice), nothing was missing and I came back home safe and fine.
My dad who is in another state got worried when I called earlier. If something had happened to me that guy will have had the worst day of his life. The kind of people that will have come for him eh.
There were 2 things on my mind. It's either that guy did it intentionally to put me in trouble or he is delusional ( superstitious) and/or actually suffering from Koro syndrome.
Help move this to Fp so everyone can be aware of this. Let me say this for the sake of those that this may be beneficial to. I pray you don't ever experience something like this, and if it ever happened, don't play a gentle man card. You need to be proactive. Once someone walks to you and says you have stolen his manhood, gather as much energy as you can and land him brain-resetting slaps that will cause him to feel dizzy. Don't stop there, continue shouting as much as you can that he has stolen your money by removing it from your pocket and given it to his accomplice who has run away. By doing this, when people gather, they will be confused on whose story they should believe. You must insist that you want to take the person to the police station. Only let go if people are seriously begging you to forgive him. Being gentle and looking confused would make people believe that you actually did it. Please let's say safe. |

ebijimi7: Good morning landers, its a beautiful thursday morning here in lagos, Ok so straight down to the business without much hassle.
It goes like this, ok I have this girl I'm dating she has been a lovable soul a friend, partner, lover and mother.
She is caring also I have never met a girl like that in my life since I became an adult the only person that I know has those quality she possessed was my mum which is late now.
she is from kwale I think a town In delta state and I am from ondo so we have been together for couple of years now.
We had a heart to heart conversation she told me about her past and I also told her about mine.
Though I've dated some substantial amount of ladies sha, I don't want to mention before una call me (Ashewo or brostitute ,
So in the long run while explaining she told me what transpired between she and some of her exes the ones that kept deceiving her and collecting money from her she mentioned about 10 of them which she actually supported to to travel out of the country but they neglected and dumped her after they got over sea, more of like she fell into the hand of bad guys.
What kept ringing in my head and making me scared was the fact she made out with some of them and I still get angry knowing that fact sometimes she would be crying that I'm using her past against her just because she was inlove and it didn't work out within she and any of her ex .
I love her but her past kept dragging me back and making me scared of taking the next step.
Not to mention all of what she has done for me but when I lost my mum she stood by me all through the difficult times she prays for me she was with me at the hospital for days until my mum passed out.
Looking at these are qualities I get confused the more because I dint know if I'm making the right decision by letting her go she rarely ask for anything
Please your candid advice I'd needed My candid advice, hold her with all your might. Learn to give her past, and don't use it against her again. Her type is uncommon. If you allow her slip from your hand, you may regret it. The beauty thing here is the fact that she was open to you and told you the truth. |

Since 2013, I made front page today |
Politics › Farooq Kperogi: Clarity On Tinubu’s Age And Postsecondary Education by Jetland(op): 6:38am On Jan 29, 2022 |
In today's Saturday Tribune/Peoples Gazette column, I show that while Tinubu embodies a lot of unflattering attributes and still has many ethical question marks around him, it's at least now certain that his age and higher education qualifications are not in dispute. There's honor in admitting our error when we encounter superior facts. Enjoy: Clarity on Tinubu’s Age and Postsecondary Education By Farooq A. Kperogi Twitter: @farooqkperogi I resent Bola Tinubu’s politics and don’t want him to be president if I can help it. In a January 12 Facebook update, I wrote, “I'd hate for him to be president because he is too sick, too old, too steeped in fraud (even his name, age, education, and origins are frauds), and too much like Buhari whose ‘legacy’ of poverty and ineptitude he said he'll ‘continue with’ to be an option.”
But I must admit that he is the victim of sustained, at times innocent and at other times intentional, mis- and disinformation regarding his age and postsecondary education. When I encounter superior facts that challenge or confute what I know, I yield and admit my error without hesitation.
For example, in 2015, I lent my voice to the whispering campaign that Goodluck Jonathan didn’t earn the PhD he said he had. Loads of circumstantial evidence, not least Jonathan’s own resistance to providing evidence for the completion of his degree, conferred some credibility to the suspicion that he didn’t complete his degree.
However, in late 2015, I went out of my way to inquire from people who should know at the University of Port Harcourt and found information, which both Goodluck Jonathan and the administrators at Uniport were reluctant to share, that answered the questions people asked about Jonathan’s doctoral education. On September 19, 2015, I wrote a column titled “New Evidence that Goodluck Jonathan’s PhD May be Genuine” and became the first person to publish the title of his doctoral dissertation and the name of his doctoral supervisor.
Similarly, when I discovered that Muhammadu Buhari did indeed take his West African School Certificate in 1961 and got five credits and one pass, contrary to popular notions that he didn’t, I revised my opinion. (See, for example, my August 14, 2021, column titled “Top 5 Lies about Buhari That Won’t Go Away,” where I also showed that Buhari’s age declaration has been consistent since he was at least 18 in 1961).
Well, the Punch of January 7 reported that Chicago State University wrote to it to confirm that Tinubu did indeed graduate from the school after two years of study there. The Richard J. Daley College, a community college in Chicago, also confirmed that he did receive an associate degree (equivalent to an ordinary national diploma in Nigeria) from there. In other words, he spent two years at Richard Daley College for an associate degree and another two years at Chicago State University for a bachelor's degree.
He got in trouble in 1999 because he wrote on his INEC forms that he’d graduated from the University of Chicago, a prestigious private university, when he actually graduated from Chicago State University, a Historically Black College and University (HBCU). He later blamed the “error” on Senator Tokunbo Afikuyomi.
So, the widespread claim that the genuineness of Tinubu’s university education is shrouded in mystery has no basis in fact.
What has some basis in fact, though, is that there is no public record for where he attended secondary school. In his 1999 INEC form that he admitted was error-ridden, he said he attended Government College, Ibadan, which turned out to be false.
In a January 22 article, Tinubu’s former press secretary by the name of Segun Ayobolu said in the aftermath of the controversy that attended the exposé of the inaccuracies in his educational credentials in his INEC form, Tinubu admitted to not having attended a secondary school after his primary school education “because of his poverty.”
Again, in spite of prevalent allegations to the contrary, Tinubu’s age has also been fairly consistent in public records. Records from the 1970s from Richard Daley College and Chicago State University, which I saw again a few days ago, show that he consistently gave his year of birth as 1952.
It was only his Chicago State University transcript that gave his year of birth as 1954, but this was attributed to a clerical error. In any case, 1954 is two years younger than 1952. Had the year been significantly older than 1952, there would have been a valid basis to speculate that it was his real birth year that he accidentally let out.
So, at no point did he ever officially claim to be born earlier than 1952. It’s entirely plausible that he was actually born earlier than 1952, but no one has shown any official documentation to authenticate that.
People whose birth wasn’t officially recorded, as I suspect was the case with Tinubu, have a lot of wiggle room to claim any age.
Recall the spat between Wole Soyinka and Olusegun Obasanjo sometime ago when Soyinka asked why Obasanjo was older than him when, in fact, Soyinka used to call Obasanjo by the honorific “egbon” (indicating Obasanjo was older than he was) when they were growing up in Abeokuta. Obasanjo responded by saying because his birth was not recorded when it happened (since his parents weren’t educated like Soyinka’s parents were), he made up a date of birth.
Tinubu can make the same argument, and it will be valid.
The viral video someone recorded about the multiple edits of his—and his first daughter’s— Wikipedia page to tweak his age is neither here nor there. Anyone can edit a Wikipedia page, and the Wikipedia pages of politically exposed people like Tinubu are often subject to vandalism, which Wikipedia defines as editing a page “in an intentionally disruptive or malicious manner. Vandalism includes any addition, removal, or modification that is intentionally humorous, nonsensical, a hoax, or degrading in any way.”
If someone maliciously changes someone’s date of birth on Wikipedia and an editor restores the original date (these are called “edit wars” in Wikipedia lingo), it is unfair to blame the owner of the page for this.
I, too, had no idea I had a Wikipedia page until a younger friend of mine by the name of Usman Zakari Ibrahim called my attention to it in 2017. In it, my year of birth was originally written as 1970. That is the year of my older brother’s birth, which is three years before my birth. Whoever or whatever program created the page later changed my birth year to 1973 after I complained. Does that suggest any foul play on my part?
Unlike Tinubu, my birth was recorded in a hospital. I have a real-time hospital birth certificate complete with the exact time I was born, the nurse and midwife who delivered me, my weight, and the ointment that was applied to my eyes after my birth. There is no dispute about when I was born, yet Wikipedia didn’t get my year of birth right the first time.
Nonetheless, what remain obscured by clouds of controversy are the place of Tinubu’s birth (he claims it’s Lagos, but many Lagos natives say he doesn’t even speak Yoruba with a Lagos accent), by what name he was initially known before he adopted his current name since it’s on record that the Tinubu family in Lagos disowned him, who his biological parents were, and why he assumed his currently identify.
Sahara Reporters also reported on Friday that he has flown abroad again to tend to his failing health—a few months after returning from London for the same reason. If this is true, he also needs to come clean about the true state of his health if he wants to be taken seriously as a contender for the presidency in 2023, particularly given Nigeria’s experience with Umar Musa Yar’adua (who died in office) and Muhammadu Buhari (who has become the world’s most infamous presidential medical tourist to London).
His supporters and minders say these concerns are irrelevant gotcha distractions intended merely to strip him of credibility. But their defensiveness won’t stop the concerns. In fact, it gives them wings and inspires more unflattering speculations about him. https://www.farooqkperogi.com/2022/01/clarity-on-tinubus-age-and.html?m=1

If you observe very well, you'd see where many bloggers/webmasters posted one of their blog posts on nairaland and linked back to it.
As we all know know that Google doesn't like duplicate contents, do you think Google will not penalize such blogs?
For instance, I've come across many tips here on nairaland, in which the posters linked back to their websites/blogs, and when you visit their blogs, you'd discover that that full article you previously read on nairaland is also on the blog.
I'm just wondering if Google doesn't have problems with that

Health › Straight-scratch Lines In My Body by Jetland(op): 8:44pm On Nov 27, 2021 |
Sometimes I do see some lines on my body. Before now, I'd always thought it could be that I mistakenly used my finger nails to scratch my body even though I don't keep nails.
At some point I was also thinking it could my sponge. But from my finding, it's neither my sponge nor my nails. Note that it's not itching me neither is it painful.
I'm sure it's not caused by any insect because my room is clean. I even thought it only happened overnight not untill when I was sweaty in the afternoon and I starting feeling some mild pains due to the fact I was sweaty. That is, the lines formed within the time I felt it. The funniest thing is that when it forms, it takes some days before the scars disappear.
Please, has anyone ever experienced something like this before?
I'm planning of going to see a pathologist next week but before then, I'd love to know if anyone has experienced this before.
Thanks
