While we are protesting, fellow nigerians at

GOVERNORS ACN, PDP, CNPP, ANPP ALL AGREED
WITH JONATHAN TO REMOVE THE FUEL SUBSIDY
AS THEY TOO NEEDED MORE MONEY TO RUN
THEIR STATES. All the while they're coming out to
claim support for protesters is a facade.
They too should equally bear the brunt as fed

Please broadcast - Petroleum Marketers are fighting
back by exposing some of the subsidy deals.
They say Nigeria must know that Haruna Momoh
the MD of PPMC and Deziani Allison Madueke
Minister for Petroleum has been demanding and
pocketing N50 per litre of Kero and petrol produced
by local Refineries since Jan 2011 till date. The
reason they gave to marketers is that it was
marketers contribution to Jonathan's election, but
it has continued even after the elections.
That the govt should probe Nezor SA and Tridax SA
two companies owned by the Peroleum Minister run
by her junior brother. This two companies in the
last 16 month of her tenure has from nowhere
become one of the few companies lifting crude oil
and one of the largest beneficiary of the subsidy.
The marketers want Nigeria to probe the new list of
briefcase companies now lifting crude oil because
they paid minimum of $1 million to Momoh and
Deziani.
I think we hv started seeing the real faces of the
cabals!

whitehawk:
People I am in my office not at home. Nothing is happening hence I have the time to post on a forum like this.

This is about FIGHTING CORRUPTION.

The Budget (Federal, State, Local) is the MASTER DOCUMENT for government's revenu and exependiture.
That is the INSTRUMENT that is used to tackle corruption AT SOURCE not the after-the-act EFFC and the Judiciary where members of the NBA make their money.

Lawyers make money from Conflicts, they represent ALL the SIDES to the Conflict for a fee !

If you are protesting because you agree with the NLC that PMS (petrol) costs N40 a litre to produce please remember that one litre of bottled water sells fro N80 a litre, beer sells for N150 to N200 a litre.

If your are outraged about the profligacy and execesses of the members of the national assembly who pay themselves about N150,000 for as tea allowance and unmentionable sums for foreign trips for Shopping, then you SHOULD BE SUPPORTING SANUSI LAMIDO AND OKONJO IWEALLA. !!!

Remember that last year Sanusi Lamido, the CBN Governor raised the alarm that 25 % of the National budget is appropriated by the National Senate and the House of Representatives. The NLC and the NBA did not support and neither DID YOU.

These CBN Governor and the Minister of Finance are fighting CORRUPTION.

People you should be supporing them.

GEJ has REPEALED the Official Secrets Act that the military and past governments had been hiding under to STEAL our money.

GEJ has started very well. He REPEALED THE OFFICIAL SECRETS ACT in 2010. That little known decree was the basis of Nigeria's corruption.

Since time lost until year, under the Official Secrets Act, it ILLEGAL punishable by IMPRISONMENT for anyone to ask for or to Disclose the DETAILS of ANY GOVERNMENT BUDGET !!!!.

YES !!

By repealing the relevant parts of the Official Secrets Act, you and I can now ask for the full details of all government budgets ( Federal, State and Local). We should COMMEND GEJ !!!.

But under military rule every 1st of January, the National Budget was read to the solemn national anthem. The leaders the proceeded to spend the money as they wished.

Recall also that in 1999 that it was AFTER OBJ was sworn in as President that Gen. Abubakar gave OBJ the 1999 Constitution. Since then we have been operating a democracy with a MILITARY mindset. Every "leader" is a "commmander". Speaker Bankole locked out the ELECTED members ofHouse of Rep memebers who accus him of corruption and demanded an apology before he would PERMIT them to return.

Because of the  immunity and  impunity, Corruption became endemic.

With our access to the details of government budgets, we can see the bloat in goverment expenditure.

The Government should be RESPONSIBLE for housing or  feeding ministers, government executives or legislatures.

The NLC, the NBA and the House of Representatives are NOT ANGELS at all.

When Sanusi Lamido revealed that 25% of the National Budget was spent on the National Assembly no one supported him. Not the clergy, the NBA or the NLC. Shortly thereafter the former Speaker of the House of Reps was arrested for borrowing  from the banks and spending 40 BILLION NAIRA in additon to what was budgeted for. Sanusi fought a lone fight. He was disparaged by the House of Reps. The NBA, the NLC, Pastor Bakare and Mallam Rufai did not come to fight corruption.

The fuel subsidy has to be removed because it is the sure way to stop the Corruption in that business. The fight against Corruption must BE INSITUTIONAL AND PROCESS BASED.  The EFCC and the Judiaciary have not been effective becasue that approach is based on the PERSONALITY of the EFCC Chairman of a particular judge.

Please read Sanusi Lamido's details of how the Fuel Subsidy FRAUD is perpetrated by excutives of the petrol industry, Nigerian Customs, oil industry regulators etc. This will give an idea of the vast scope and depth of the FRAUD.
Bro,ur post is great and right on spot.I personally have no doubt in NOI and SLS ability to DO the RIGHT thing.CORRUPTION stinks to high heavens in virtually all the past and present government of Nigeria,GEJ's inclusive.
Question, why are we paying subsidy?
Ans, in a way,the fed govt made us believe the only way nigerians can afford the "imported refined crude by-products, i.e PMS,DIESEL,KERO,etc"is by part-paying in the cost as required.
*considerable you would say huh?*but here's the joker
Question, for how long has and will Nigeria continue to refine their crude product in foreign countries,in order for the subsidy to be removed
Ans, *SILENCE*
Question, subsidy had been removed on diesel and kero products, with the expectations the proceeds will be used for development of key infrastructure.but till date,Nigerians can't see any visible impact of the subsidy removal on these products.
Ans, *SILENCE*
Subsidy is been paid (shared among themselves and their partners, ".The Big oil importers and party sponsors", in crime) as long as the fed govt of nigeria keeps exporting the crude to be refined outside.if what the existing refineries are yielding could not suffice the nigeria masses, well what stop them from the option of increasing their capacities if TRULY they are committed to the welfare of nigeria citizens?.at least the problem of poor supply from our refineries had been on for decades.None of them cares about this.they only make promises they are not sincere about.
Which one will benefit nigerians better if not for the best; keep importing refined products at heavy cost which the majority(masses) can hardly bare,or fix and expand the refineries on ground and enforce policies that ensures the effective and successful operations of the refineries.you and I know the right option.if GEJ does the second option, the masses won't rise up in arms against him and his government.in fact prayers will be offered to God through his name as a Messiah.
If the govt needs to make savings to improvise infrastructures, let it start with them and their friends (the invisible cabal)who are the real beneficiaries of the subsidy with their jumbo pay and allowances.
What they apportion to themselves is more than enough to put the "defunct NEPA" right".
SUBSIDY SHOULD GO, YES, BUT AFTER GEJ HAVE PUT IN PLACE WHAT WOULD MADE NIGERIA NO LONGER TO PAY FOR IT.

Its not my style to post and announce bad news but I suppose there's need to present the genesis if the "fresh"outbreak in benin city, edo state of nigeria.
It was alleged yesterday while some edo state indigenes were leaving kano state for edo state, following the happenings in the north regarding boko harams threat and eventual attacks on southerners.
Two buses belonging to BIG JOE,an edo state transport coy, loaded with the states indigene were attacked and the two buses set on fire by hausa/fulani men.as at this morning I'm yet to get clearly which village the attack on their convoy happened.but it was said to be outside kano city.
Thus on arrival of some of the indigenes, the new had spread round and thus "reprisal"attack at the hausa commercial centers I.e erie, sakponba road and lagos street, ring road.benin city.
It was therefore of no surprise the quick intervention of THE MILITARY boys to convened the hausas out of the place and kept them over night at their barracks and some undisclosed areas.
I see a big divison coming on the heel of this protest,if not an out break of civil war as there would be MAXIMUM casualties all over the country.

A good one on Fuel Subsidy from FELA DUROTOYE,  D best argument so far,

Since I got back into Nigeria yesterday, I have heard some preposterous arguments that the removal of the fuel subsidy will be justified by wise investments that will benefit all.

My response has been, How will a wasteful government suddenly realize the genius of prudence and making the right investment decisions sim, ply bcs there is more money available from oil subsidy removal?

Will there be less graft & bribes involved in process of issuing the road contracts or power contracts?

Have we sought to honestly find every way we can plug wastage in our leaking economy before we ask a feeble populace to carry the burden of corruption and gross ineptitude of a gluttonous few?

Have the Presidency, the State & Local Governments and the Legislature discovered how to travel without a convoy of 20 cars to the airport?

Can the occupiers of these lofty positions act in honour as Barack Obama did in 2010 when he got every member of his cabinet to take a pay cut, starting with himself?

Within his first few days as British Prime Minister, David Cameron led the austerity cuts (upon his assumption) by cutting down his convoy to 2 cars and one outrider. The Members of Parliament in Britain are now only allowed 3rd class train tickets on official travel (as opposed to their traditional first class train ticket allowances). The Mayor of London now rides a bicycle to work.
Leadership by example!!!

How come our 'leaders' in government earn so much and still spend so much furnishing the same houses and offices they furnished with our money last year?

Do you furnish your office every year? Why should the President, Governor or Senate President?

Wasteful leadership cannot make prudent investments!!!!! Q.E.D

The change we need is not just policy. Its in the quality of mind and persons at policy making positions.

That said, how will we effectively deliver sustainable desired-change? ,

Good posting.same reason why answers to questions such as:"What happened to the deregulation of diesel and kerosene which have been sold at higher prices compared to PMS till date".None, including aunty Ngo could give a concise and clear answer to that.
There is absolutely nothing wrong in "removing fuel subsidy, especially on PMS" *mind u,its in quote* as I don't believe there is fuel subsidy at all, except incumbent government is saying, let's stop this ""SPECIAL MONEY SHARING amongst top govt offcials and their friends,so as to enable GEJ govt do something tangible during his tenure"".
If present govt today says,"fellow nigerians govt henceforth shall proscribe importation of refined PMS,diesel and kerosene, and also revoke the licences of refined crude products, except grant licences for the exportation. And also, this govt shall improve and enalrge our refineries from 4 to 12 units within 4-7 years. As such, the need for *subsidy removal* is paramount to cater for all our promises to thhe nigerian people during our campaign for office".WALAI,its the people who will canvass for jonathans 6 years single term tenure and not him seeking to lobby the NAS.Nigerians will raise monuments in his image to last for centuries.but rather, jona behaved foolishly.putting the cart'an overloaded one at that before THE MULE not a horse.what possible direction do u think the nation will be heading?

In 1976, General Muhammadu Buhari as a Minister (then Federal Commissioner) for Petroleum, doggedly fought and convinced the Military Supreme Council on the need to construct a second refinery. With his determination, diligence and discipline, that refinery was commissioned in 1978. That is the WARRI REFINERY we know today!
In 1978, as the first Group Managing Director (then Chairman) of NNPC, he pioneered the construction of Nigeria's third refinery purely as NNPC project. In 1980, that refinery was commissioned as NNPC REFINERY KADUNA.
In 1984, as a Military Head of State, he awarded the construction of the largest Refinery in Africa. Which was the fourth and the last refinery ever built in Nigeria. That Refinery was commissioned as PORT HARCOURT NEW REFINERY!

PoliticsRe: Breaking News: Fuel Subsidy Removed by jidewin(m): 8:47pm On Jan 01, 2012
There really. Was no subsidy in the first place.check this out:
1) One barrel of Crude oil = 42gallons or 159 litres
2) Our Refineries (i.e 4) Installed (combined)
capacity = 445,000 barrels per day
3) Actual refineries capacity due to
mismanagement = 30% i.e. 133,500 barrels per
day.
4) . . 133,500 barrels = 21.2 million litres
5) Local required consumption (F.O.S) = 12millions
litres
6) It means that even our MORIBUND refineries can
actually meet our local consumption need of
petroleum.
7) The cost structure of crude oil (i.e. Qua Iboe
Crude Oil) production;
- Findings / development - $3.5
- Production cost - $1.5
- Refining Cost - $12.6
- Pipeline/transportation - $1.5
- Distr/bridging fund Margin -$15.69
cool True cost of one litre of petroleum anywhere in
Nigeria;
- Total sum cost = $34.8
- 1ltr cost = $34.8/159 litres = $0.219
- Naira equiv.:$.219xN160= N35.02k
- Add Tax N5 + N35.02 = N40.02
9) Let FGN refute the above composition and if not,
they should tell us how
they came about N65/litre.
10) Locally refined products cannot be sold at
International price.
11) We really do not need FGN SUBSIDY as there
was NONE in the first place.
12) What is LACKING, is the WILL to enforce LAW
ON CORRUPTION
