It's just a show of respect. No big deal! The igbo tradition taugt me to say 'Thank you ma'am/Sir to any elderly Woman/man around after meal. |
danielicon:Managerial skill is acquired mostly on the job and that is why good companies don't employ fresh graduates as managers. I am not talking about some fake companies who employ such graduates and expect them to do the jobs of trainees and managers at the same time, with zero training and without comensurate pay. You don't know me from anywhere, so you typing that poverty will erode you not me, was just a hogwash. |
danielicon:Mr, one of the features Of 'crammed'/memorized work is that they are easily forgoten before, during and worse still after exams. Any student who consistently maintained a good grade from 100l to graduation has not memorized. The problem with some nigerian students is that they lack interest in revisiting their works after exams. Most times they don't have passion for the courses they are studying. |
Billyonaire:Only a few people, i mean a very few can afford to buy private jets. Nigerians need to be encouraged to live within their means, otherwise corruption will continue to thrive. Private jets and other such luxuries are for certain class of people who have utilized their talents to make wealth for themselves. |
danielicon:Do you know what it takes to get good grades? It takes smartness, steadfastness, discipline, hard work, name them! It is only in a jungle like Nigeria that 3rd class graduates bribe their way to the top. |
Ladies who have got no life of their own have got no choice than take any sh1t from any man...Fact! |
Marriage like every other love relationship shoud be a give and take affair. I'll give gifts of love to my wife, but not this kind of employer-employee arrangement in her supposed home. |
You married a lazy woman...Pele Those are the type that if anything happens to the man, the children will turn waywards. The woman is obviously using the money to 'sort' herself through school which means she's not even academically sound. Say no to women who can't hold their own. |
I believe the female bosses act the way they do because of the old fashioned tradition which kept the womenfolk under the men. In this modern era where things are changing for the better, some women consider it an exceptional feat when they occupy leadership position, and so they tend to go overboard in dealing with their subbordinates. I believe this will change with time. Personally though, i prefer a female boss to a male one. It's weird but i feel somehow being subservient to a fellow man. |
asuustrike2009:Igbos don't treat ebonyians differently. Osu caste system is no longer popular in igboland. |
Ighoga898:Just abstain from masturbation and all kinds of sexual activity for some time. feed well but avoid too much sugar. Take more of proteins {milk, egg, meat, fish, beans}, fruits and vegetables eg banana, unripe plantain etc plus exercise. You'll bounce back. |
SnowJay92:The way people reason in this country juss taya me tbh |
ElsonMorali:Madam, this stereotype no longer works! Be real to yourself. Men no longer find women who have no life attractive. Anyway, the aim of this thread is to encourage our ladies to get something doing and not be a liability on their men. I have spoken! IDGAF how anybody interprets the post. |
Backinfront:That's the problem! People are always quick to refer to 'traditional setting' when it suits their selfish interests. Let's be realistic my friend! whoever set that 'traditional' standard never envisaged that a time like this would come when running a home will be so expensive. Fyi, the guy is a very hardworking guy! But he needs to be relieved by his supposed help mate! |
Cutehector:Struggling men you say? Which man is not struggling? Apart from corrupt politicians who loot public treasury? |
Cutehector:The guy is a good description of a hustler! He is providing for his family but the pressure is much! Imagine being married to a lady who spent years in the university, got a degree but can't hustle with her man to maintain a luxury home which she so much desires. Naturally, the man will be fed up and lose respect for her. I think parents should learn how to give their daughters the right orientation. |
Anyway, i'm just sharing this so that the wise ones can learn. Imagine a guy regreting his marriage! I was so touched. |
Cutehector:Cooking and cleaning does not pay the bills needed to sustain modern homes. Find out what it takes to maintain a family nowadays. |
Cutehector:Ofcourse he has done that already but the lady seems not to want to help matters. The pressure is much on my guy! He fears he may break down soon. |
Cutehector:Because he pays all the bills! |
AngelicBeing:I think that lady is just being sick! Honestly, i envy those of you that have managed to leave this jungle called Nigeria. I pray i don't birth my offspring in Nigeria. I just pray! |
Stop being a liability to your husband because you will not be respected in the marriage. I have a close relative who got married some few years back. At the onset of the marriage it was all lovey-dovey.But the lady is the type that believes that husband must provide all for the family while her own degree is meant to decorate her room. Fastforward to 4 years of marriage, the 'love' has cleared from the guy's eyes and reality is begining to set in. Ofcourse, the couple now has 2 kids to cater for and Buhari's government is not helping matters. Bills are to be paid, such as exhorbitant house rent, school fees, baby foods and diapers etc. The guy is a hustler o, but the truth is that no amount of 'hustling' from just one partner will be enough to sustain a modern family. I am writing this because as i went home for holidays the guy was advising me to be careful in making choice of marriage partner. Infact he specifically advised me never to marry a lady who isn't working. He's kind of regreting his marriage |
westfield:Just imagine the way you reason! A 3rd class holder was chosen over a 2-1 and MSc graduate without any aptitude test and you don't see any problem with that!? I weep for this jungle called Nigeria. |
The question is, what criteria were used in the selection process? Was there an aptitude test? Or an oral interview? Ofcourse there was none of those. |
Pidgin2:Those calling nigeria a zoo are even being polite because in many zoos there's usually some level of orderliness. I think the word " Jungle" will be more apt |
Pidgin2:Why are you so pained? the guy simply stated the fact! |
This is why Nigeria will never progress. We keep making type 1 error in employment into various government agencies and parastatals resulting to lack of productivity. And some foolss will still believe that Buhari is fighting corruption. |
jakandeola:You don't discipline an adult by beating. That's disrespect of the highest order! How do you expect children around to respect your woman after watching her humiliated like a child? As far as i am concerned any man that beats up his wife for whatever reason is a caveman and deserves to be thoroughly beaten by a stronger person so he could get to have a taste of humiliation. |
All those prayers would be answered if and only if you were truly innocent and blameless. |
Only the lazy girls would still hold on to the old order where women were seen as domestic servants. Things have changed and those who refuse to change would be swept into oblivion. My elder bros is currently in a situation where he's trying to satisfy a lazy lady who believes that a guy should provide it ALL while her own degree is meant to decorate her room. I pray i make it big so i can help my beloved brother lest he dies before his time. |
TheBatman:Bros, while i don't doubt the possibility of some people lobying their way through, i know many BGS who got automatic employment without lobying. |
2) what do you mean by I am igbo but I stand for the truth?(I honestly don't get this statement) Do you mean Igbos don't usually stand for the truth. 3) Also you didn't argue about the NO automatic Job for anyone, even for the person with the highest CGPA. I appreciate you for this also. 4) Now to the crux of the matter, I can tell you authoritatively that even BGS would have to lobby and Network before he/gets the Job. (N.B lobby and Networking are the fancy political correct words for CONNECTIONS). As I said earlier, I wouldn't won't to tarnish the imagine of the school, its possible your case was different, but that certainly isn't the norm. Thanks Bros,[/quote]I said i am igbo because i know about the accusations from some quarters that there is a conspirac y by the Binis to dominate employment in Uniben and to prevent the igbos from getting employed in the school but i believe they wldn't try such with academic positions unless they want to destroy the hard earned reputation of the school. |
