Faith healing never passed away. It's the work of the holy spirit. The holy spirit has come to stay with the church till the end of the age. There are two kinds of healings

Healing by the Gift of Healing: This is ability to cure others , it's a special grace. But it may not be at work in a minister 24/7 . If the gift or the healing anointing is not on. The man may minister by faith .
Healing by Faith. : This is a promise to Christian that we can pray and have answers. The minister and the recipient of healing need to exercise their faith together. The tougher the problem , the stronger the faith that is required.

Self Healing by faith in the word: I will just like to add this as extra. Even though it's still part of the one above. A Christian can cure himself by faith . All he needs to do is to know Gods word concerning what belongs to him in christ. His authority ivermectin the devil because many ailments and deceases were caused by demons. Even the non demonic cases can be cured. I have several testimonies of people that I have ministered to and they got healed. And how I got healed too.

From child hood I've always be falling sick of malaria . Until doctors recommended Sunday Sunday medicine for me. When I was 20, I came across a book by E.W Kenyon JESUS THE HEALER was the title. I read and I was shocked to discover that sickness have no right over me. I have authority in christ over sickness . "by his stripes I've been healed" .
I made up my mind to stop the Sunday Sunday drugs. Not long after, malaria hit me, I stubbornly refused to take the drugs, because I had so much conviction in the word this time. I was shivering on my bed confessing " by his stripe I am healed" over an over .

But that didn't change anything until I heard the voice of God I. My sprit saying. "if you believe you are healed , get up like a healed person!". My position on the bed was very comfortable that I didn't feel like changing but I struggled in the midst of all the pain in my joints, headache , cold etc , I got up, held the wall and staggered outside. I decided to take my mind off my health condition. So I thought of how to distract my mind from the pains . I took a ride on my bicycle . To stroll around looking for new fine houses around the GRA. when I got back home ,I just forgot I was sick . It dawned on me , I shouted! .

In my excitement, I heard a neighbour was sick. I marched to her house, she was lying down on the rug in the sitting room. I shared my new discovery with her. She agreed for prayer, I prayed , rebuke the devil , comanded the symptoms to cease. I told her to get up that she was healed . But she couldn't , she said she was weak and in pain. I left disappointed . But about 30 minutes later , I saw her fetching water, I asked what happened. She said when she managed to get up, all the syptoms left . That's the beginning of my praying for the sick. I have several cases of healings Through my prayers. And I have conquered malaria since that day no more drugs.

Psalm 1:1-3
Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper

The life God has given us in Christ is that of great glory and prosperity. You’re ordained to prosper, not just financially or in certain aspects of your life, but all-round – in everything and in every way. This ought to be your experience of life. Our opening verse gives us the key to this all-round prosperity, where everything you do and everything that has to do with you prospers! It’s by delighting yourself in the law of the Lord – His Word – and meditating on it day and night!

How prosperous do you want to be? How glorious do you want your life to be? If you’d delight yourself in the Lord, and meditate on His words regularly or frequently, you’ll be like a tree planted by the rivers of water. You’ll bring forth fruit in due season; your leaves will not wither, and whatsoever you do shall prosper.

Isaiah 58:14
“Then shalt thou delight thyself in the Lord; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.”

How do you delight yourself in the Lord? It’s by giving yourself to His Word; doing His Word; meditating on it day and night, and living it! Desiring God’s Word and cherishing it more than your necessary food (Job 23:12)! When you do these, everything you do will prosper and turn out right. Whatever you get involved in will work. That’s my life! Everything I do prospers. That’s because I’ve made the Word my delight and my meditation.

Your life is ordained by God to go from one level of glory to another. He created you for success, excellence, dignity, honour and beauty. This ought to reflect in every aspect of your life: in your job, health, family, relationships, business, ministry, etc. – you’re to prosper exceedingly! Remember, prosperity, success, divine health, the good life are all your birthright in Christ Jesus. Our study today is to help you realize this and know some of the things you’re to do to experience the prosperity of God and the manifold blessings of the Spirit in your life.

@Joagbaje: I think it's still wrong for a man even if its his wife that suggested it (can she not be leading him into wrong against God's will?). But the devil is in the details, it will depend on the details.

It may be possible , Its between them and their pastor , I only cited a case . To seyiborown who seem to always attribute polygamy to ,cheating, adultery etc.

Evangelist sunny okosun had sever a wives before he got saved. Do you say he was living in aduletery.

A brother once told me he wanted to remarry, that the wife he had , had a permanent disability . I 've forgotten the details. I told him he was married ,he said the wife suggested it. I didn't believe. I called her myself . And she told me she feels he is young and it will be unfair for her to hold him down. I asked if she meant it , she said every bit of it . they've already settled the matter and she's ok with it.

I just mentioned this among many other issues relating specific cases in polygamy.

I agree that one man one woman is original plan.

Unfaithfulness is sin, I didnt dispute that. We are not talking about cheating on wife. The only disagreement is calling polygamy adultery. There is no scripture that explicitly say that. The bible condemn murder. Adultery, fornication. My understanding is . If a man marries two women legally . They are both wives. I'm not saying a christens should go and do it.   

Adultery is sexual relashionship with another mans wife.( Defrauding him)If a man takes another wife, it's not adultery.
In polygamy, they are all legal wives.( I don't like this discussion again) but it's the truth.

It is still the same, the adultery has to do with the married woman.

This is not fair, I don't like it when we bring unrealistic sentiments into scriptures. I could have used any other person as illustration. The fact that I experience the polygamy home is one reason I will not recommend it for any one. I believe my stand has been clear on polygamy. So it's not fair. The issue still remains . It is not adultery . It is not sin.it is a legal system of marriage.

There is no justification for sin before God; we ask for repentance and take full responsibility for our sins. David did on the matter of Bathsheba.

I am sorry Joagbaje, my understanding of the word of God tells me that polygamy is adultery seeing as being polygamous means being unfaithful to one wife who has the same control over your body as you have control over her body.

Marriage is not all about sex. So leave this bed thing out. There will always be polygamy. It's a system for those who don't mind. The population of the world is more of women. Apart from the fact that more female are born. With several families looking for a son. Other issue come that reduce men's population. Over 4,000 American soldiers died in Iraq alone. When a Christian man wakes up and say , hey honey! I'm getting another wife , he needs counselling.  He has acted in selfishness and outside love. Because he has caused her a hurt. And if he had made a vow to her of monogamy. He has sinned against his wife and against love . Besides , the pastor that they are both submitted to will not agree to join someone with a married man.except if its a church that believes in it. But that's not what we are looking at . We are looking at it generally as an institution. Several people have reasons for polygamy. They are numerous. Wearing blue stocking and red stocking together is wrong ,but it is not sin. We have churches that have separated homes . Because a man gets saved and brought his wives, and the pastor says he should divorce one. And send away the other. The institution itself is not the sin. Some women recommended their husband to take another wife . On the ground of child birth. She had lived a rough life, have womb is story story, he is the only son of his parent. There are several reasons. But the issue is . We should not condemn those into it. Because God has not condemn them. They are not living in sin.

God hates divorce, but you can't generalise that also and say every divorce is a sin. That doesn't mean that every divorce is wrong. There are some divorces that God permits. So it depend on the specific case and situation surrounding it. To some people  divorce will be a great miracle but to some others a sin. When it comes to such matters , you deal with a specific case. Same rule applies to polygamy.

If God didn't condemn Abraham,Jacob, Moses , David and Solomon for polygamy. We are not justified to condemn anyone for it.

I am not against the Catholics. We are all Catholics. I don't hold personal opinion. I just love the word of God for what it says. There's a religious good  feeling we have, putting responsibility of our spirituality on someone else " praying for us"Living or dead saints.

That apart. There's no single scripture suggesting that saints in heaven are praying for us. Or that we should beg them to pray to Jesus for us . They watch us and witness the glory if God manifest through us.their works on earth are over. Beings in heaven are learning Through the church.

9 ----We have been made a spectacle to the whole universe, to angels as well as to men.

God is in us through the agency of the holy spirit,who helps us to pray according to the will of God. Who else knows the will of God for me than the holy spirit in me. Saints in heaven don't know Gods plan for me in the first place.Gods will for me is in my spirit revealed by the holyghost

11 For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the man’s spirit within him? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God.

14 This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. 15 And if we know that he hears us–whatever we ask–we know that we have what we asked of him.

If God has assured us that he hear us. What else do we need. The holy spirit is the one that knows the will of God for me, and he is the only one that can help me pray according to the will if God. We have direct access and it should not be downplayed .

 Romans 8:26-27
26 In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. 27 And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God’s will

And we don't need to pray to Jesus. Talkless of asking Mary to beg Jesus for us.We pray to the father in the name of Jesus.  Jesus is not even Praying for us! 

John 16:26-27
26 In that day you will ask in my name. I am not saying that I will ask the Father on your behalf. 27 No, the Father himself loves you because you have loved me and have believed that I came from God.

He has prayed,he has brought us to oneness with the father, if I am one with the father who us in me and wants the best for me, why would I need someone in heaven to talk to him on my behalf. Are we saying the oneness of Jesus is not complete?.

If there is any intercession needed it is christ and his blood is pleading our cause.his blood is speaking for us .
 
1 Timothy 2:5
5 For[ there is] one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

We should not forget the foundation of this discussion. Chukwudi says holy Mary and saints in heaven are praying for "us" by the holy spirit. I said the holyspirit is with the church here on earth and nit in heaven.

So we should gave the background in mind. The holy spirit is omnipresent but his presence doesn't show in every place. He manifest now through the name of christ. Saints in heaven don't need the power of the holy spirit.

Can anybody else on this thread please ask the Holy Spirit to explain this matter to them? Can a spirit-filled child of God truly justify such action? Where does a child of God stop: at four or fifty wives? Any concubines permitted? Please come and tell us what was revealed to you.

You keep giving impression of polygamy as adultery. It is wrong. We are not discussing adultery but polygamy. A man legally been married to two women. It is not adultery issue . I know you are a woman and somehow it may be touchy for you. But polygamy is a system. Some churches practice it . African tradition allows it. You can not call those who are involved with it as adulterer . it's an insult. My Dad got another wife because my mum wasn't From his village. He was pressured by family because it was like taboo in those days. He and my mum agreed who he should bring in as next wife. Do you call that adultery. Was abraham an adulterer? It was by consent. Was jacob an adulterer ? No , it was by consent. Several polygamists have their reasons. The Church of The latter rain practice polygamy. Is polygamy a sin . No! . Can it be a sin? yes. Based on the circumstance. If it's born out of selfishness and against love. But that's another matter.

And where did you get the idea that Moses lost the wife before taking another? You should brought out such scripture. Moses had two wives simultaneously. Jacob had several. For different reasons. Polygamy is a system of marriage. God himself helped out by giving some men more wives . Is God an author of confusion? He even brought the messiah through the "unclean " line according to you.

I Condemn polygamy as I will condemn alcoholism but is it a sin? NOPE!

The analogy of the vessel does to apply to the case of the conception of Jesus in the womb of Jesus since he did not just pass through Mary but took his flesh and blood from her.

Jesus did not take blood from Mary . The blood of Mary was of sin, if jesus had the sinful blood of mary, his blood woild be unacceptable.the blood if Jesus was neutral. He had to be another Adam.

Jesus christ has two natures (fully God and fully Man)as plainly stated by the council of Chalcedon in 451 CE.While the God in him has always existed from the begining,the human nature originated from Mary.

What did Moses and Elijah come back to do,if they no longer have influence on earth

.The law and the prophet. So what did he come to do. Their appearance was before the New testament.  Moses represents the law , Elijah represents the prophets. Was their any such thing again . When the church was born? . It's only catholic that claim they see one saint appear somewhere.

You should have given more information. Was she healed, did she have any other attack after prayer. Between the prayer and her death was there an attack. If there was none , has she stayed that long in time past without an attack.

Why I asked is because there are several reasons certain things happened. It could be a counter attack of the enemy, and there are things on our side that can invite a devil which had been cast out back. I'm not saying that's her case. But we should know if she never had any improvement at all or . The enemy launched at her again. The fact that a person got healed does not mean the prayer will automatically protect the person forever. Faith in the word has to be build.

Abraham had children by three women. He had two simultaneously. Moses had a second wife, a black woman.

Seriously, I am a bit surprised knowing the antecedent doctrines of the church and their very extreme adherence to asceticism, one will think the MOG would tow thesame line. I mean if Pastor's Bimbo's husband who is even younger and more sexually active could wait for almost five yrs(even though that too is debatable) then I should think our much older ascetic MOG shouldn't have that as an issue at all.

Seriously, am really really surprise at the way this whole thing is turning out, if it were some other church, I wont be hit by any surprise but Deeper Life Bible Church whose doctrines are entirely centred on extreme piety, self preservation and monk-like asceticism? I ve got to be surprised.

It is none of anybodys business. Has he done anything contrary to scriptures? Is there a duration of mourning for a Christian . If the man of God chose to abstain . It should be his decision . If he feels he needs a companion . It should be his decision.

Which one would you prefer a marriage or a scandal? We should rather give thanks to God for the lady who God rewarded for all her faithful service and chastity all these years. Her story is rather a testimony. Only God knows what she had suffered from friends and family members in criticism but she abandoned her life into the hand of God.

She got the best any lady in that ministry would probably have desired. Her story is a testimony that you can't serve God and fail. It's an encouragement for everyone serving God faithfully. I will love to give her a big hug. Well I know their doctrine may not permit that anyway. So I give her a holy hug and a holy kiss in the spirit. MUAAAAH!

Whatever discrimination was in the Old Testament. Not just against women, there was discrimination against the Gentiles as well. But now in christ male female, gentile and Jews are now one.

Galatians 3:28
28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

The truth is that faith is most important in prayer, not the structure of words used. There are so many "I'm strong", "There's a lot of money on me" confessions that are empty and even annoying.

I am healed, we were healed, heal me o Lord, they ALL work.

They are not thsesame. You ought to rebuke the devil of infirmity . When dealing with the devil you don't pray to God. We may pray to God in intercession for others. But for you as a Christian , you should find out from the word , what belongs to you , declare it and receive it by faith.  If you feel pain , you rebuke it and command it to go.if it's oppression of the devil you do the same.

Someone asked, “I thought the Christian life is that of blessings, victory and success; why then am I going through so many challenges in my life?” Indeed, Christianity is a glorious life of blessings, victory and prosperity, but that doesn’t mean you won’t face challenges. However, those challenges are not meant to destroy you; they are actually bread for you. They’re launch-pads for your promotion.

The Bible didn’t say you won’t go through the waters, but that when you do, you will not drown. Also, it didn’t say you’ll not go through fire, but that when you do, you’ll not be burned. The scriptures show us proof of this. Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego had refused to bow to the image of gold set up by King Nebuchadnezzar, and were therefore thrown into the fiery furnace (Daniel 3:12). But they got a miracle in the midst of the fire.

The Bible tells us that the bonds with which they were tied burned off. The soldiers that threw them into the fire died instantly due to the intensity of the fire, yet Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego were unhurt. Why? The Lord was with them in the fire, and gave them a miracle right inside the fire.

So it doesn’t matter the challenges you might be facing right now, rejoice ever more, for right in the midst of that seeming impossible situation is your miracle! The Bible says to count it joy:

James 1:2
“…count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations”


There’s a testimony for you today; there’s a miracle for you as you celebrate the Lord and His Word, and the victory He’s brought you into. Don’t focus on the challenges; instead, see and talk your victory.

Let the victory song resound from your lips as you give glory to the Lord;

2 Corinthians 4:6
for He commands light to shine out of darkness

Irrespective of the darkness – that difficult or challenging situation you may be facing right now – there’s a miracle for you; receive it.

i think every body should just shut up and leave men of god alone.

It's not a sin for wandering thoughts to come to you but when you buy such and begin to fantasize with them then it's wrong. You're spiritual yet you surround yourself with distractions like films with erotic scene . There is high tendency for you to be battling with your mind.

You should simply get busy serving God with a strong passion. And cut off things that negatively inspire.It will grant focuss which will naturally knock out all wrong feelings.

But if not, maybe you should get married , like someone suggested . By following paul's advice:

9 However, if you cannot control your desires, you should get married. It is better for you to marry than to burn with sexual desire.

The holyspirit has Gods attribute omnipresence , omnipotence and omniscience. God the father never leaves his throne, bit his presence is everywhere  by the agency of the holyspirit.  While Jesus christ was one the earth he was the only person that had the indwelling presence of the holy spirit . Others could not receive the holy spirit because they were not born again. When Jesus received the holy spirit, he came into christ in  person from that day. When Jesus finished his ministry, he promise us of the coming of the holyspirit. In the church.to stay and abide with the church.

John 14:16-17
16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; 17[ Even] the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

The holy spirit house address presently is inside of me.even though he has omnipotence. He answers to the name of Jesus. Where ever two or three shall gather in his name.

Angels don't need the holy spirit in heaven. Saints in heaven don't need the holy spirit. Jesus does not need the holy spirit. He is here with us. This is where the action is. Not in heaven.

He is the one restraining evil on the earth through the church. Restraining even the Antichrist until the holy spirit with the church leaves the earth. That's when the Antichrist will be made manifest.

The holy spirit answers to the name of jesus. Angels and saints in heaven don't need the holy spirit . Jesus sent him to the church. He is here to perfect the church, and work through the church until he's talken out of the way at the rapture of the church.

when you say dead saints, do you think humans die, that for the fact that your soul leaves your body it can not do a thing?, it can not worhsip God like the cherubus that cry Holy, Holy, Holy since all eternity?

I agree that their spirit lives on before God. Bit they have no influence in the affairs on the earth.

i used to feel like this praying to Mary thing is a unwholesome and wasteful venture until i saw the logic in the miracle at the wedding at cana; Jesus clearly did not want to work the miracle that why he dclared that my time has not yet come but Mary who knew his son could deny him nothing told the servants do whatever he tells you at the end of the day they had the best wine.

Jesus is no longer son of Mary . But the lord of Mary, Mary was only privilege to be used by God as a vessel to bring forth his son. Mary had to believe in Jesus and received the holyghost with the. Evidence of speaking in tongues. If Mary had not received Jesus as her lorrd , she would have gone to hell!

Jesus was not bound to obey her at the wedding. He had refused her other times.

All we need  is to recognise what we have in christ already. So praying to God to give us what we have already is a baby prayer. You quoted

In truth there is no child of God that lacks wisdom. The life of Jesus christ in us has become wisdom to us.

A mature Christian won't pray to have wisdom , or righteousness or sanctification. He needs to acknowledge the presence of such in him already. If he is not seeing it manifesting, he should declare " I have the wisdom of God in me " christ is my wisdom. The life of christ is manifested through me. I am the embodiment of divine wisdom. Etc. By such declaration , he stirs up the wisdom from the inside to manifest.  

No matter what you have received , if you don't acknowledge them and meditate on them. They may not show up.

1 Timothy 4:14-15
14 Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery. 15 Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.

The point is that a Christian has all things.  We don't need to pray to God for what he has given us. I shouldn't say God should give me power or authority. He has already said it's mine.

The OT heroes had their ups and down. They even complain sometimes. It's not all they did that were according to truth. We quote their faith and not their limitations sometimes they operate in truth according to Gods principles. Other times ,they fluctuated , mummur and complain even against God. That didn't mean their action were spiritual.

But for the christians , its a different set of rules. So let's look at it in the light of the new testament. Our lives are in the past tense of God. He had made us, we have, he had empowered us, healed us. everything partaining to us is in the past tense.
