@kunleoshob KunleOshob:It only proves you've been reading my posts with bias eyeglass. Because I have been consistently saying the same things All the while. Giving to the poor is only one of the many givings in the bible. I still said the same thing in may this year: Re: The Lessons Of Giving And The Hypocrites! God bless you for this topic, this is what true christian giving is primarily about. At least it shows that you are learning something positive on NLNo sir , its only one of the numerous. You dwell only on one aspect. But there are seveal kinds of giving with difference blessings. You need to read up and balance it. |
Proverbs 19:17 17 He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the Lord; and that which he hath given will he pay him again. There are different kinds and definition of poor people Many times we look only at the beggars by the road as "The poor" but i'm making reference to anyone that is not as privilege as you (less privileged) as the poor Sometimes we tend to give kobo kobo coins to the beggars , just to have the good religious feeling. But we can do better than that. Why can't you give a beggar 1,000 - 5,000 or more. Be a miracle. Be a suprise. Be an answer to someones prayer today. You can sponsor someones child . Give your old car to a family by surprise . Remember the poor.( less privilege) Everybody ought to be a giver, whatever your level in life , you are still more privileged than someone. You don't have to finish the perfume to the last drop. You don't have to exhaust everything. Things must not expire in your possession. Don't be an end user. Your suit does not have to fade on your shoulder, the shirt must not tear on your body, give them out in time and be a miracle. Look around you today. Several idols are with you that you didn't think of parting with. Some , you may never use, some " isale apoti" Antiquites , shoes, bags etc that your children may not to inherit. Someone needs them now. Be a miracle. Give it out. In the bible days , one of Gods principles of prosperity for his people was not to harvest everything in the farm. But they were to leave some deliberately for the poor that will come after harvest to glean. Leviticus 19:10 10 And thou shalt not glean thy vineyard, neither shalt thou gather[ every] grape of thy vineyard; thou shalt leave them for the poor and stranger: I[ am] the Lord your God. Sometimes those who are surrounded with opportunities despise the poor, some employers just delays or not pay staff salaries in time. And not for any good reason. A cashier just would not attend to peoples voucher etc. " ABEGI, MAKE THEM WAIT JARE" . These attitudes are contrary to the principles of prosperity Proverbs 3:27-28 27 Do not withhold good from those who deserve it, when it is in your power to act. 28 Do not say to your neighbor,“Come back later; I’ll give it tomorrow”– when you now have it with you. I love the saying of the man of God Pastor Chris which says . "NEVER LET THE POOR CRY OUT TO GOD BECAUSE OF YOU" This is the reason why some privileged people in life ends up as poor because they missed their chances when they had the opportunity to make the poor smile under their jurisdiction. Proverbs 21:13 13 Whoso stoppeth his ears at the cry of the poor, he also shall cry himself, but shall not be heard. Our prosperity is connected to our giving.we have several opportunities to impact our world. Such as ministering to the poor. Remember you don't have to wait for the big big thing . Start from where you are now. You have 5 wristwatches, you can give someone a surprise today. |
@kunleoshob KunleOshob:Stop calling me pastor.you are inciting sentiments against my posts. Im joagbaje. I never told you I'm a pastor. Paul says women should not teach their husbands and should not disturb the church services with questions. But they were encouraged to teach ,prophesy etc. There is no female holyghost. The same holyspirit works in all Christian . |
adaybayor:It has no relevance any longer. It was an lot testament practise. In christ now we are one. No female or male. Galatians 3:28 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. |
Gakin95:I agree with you .I believe they have those practises because of limited knowledge of the new testament in those days. More so , it was and era that idolatry was rampant in africa and it was easier for people to embrace the church rituals . That was the best God had at that time . In healing the sick and casting devils. But knowledge has come . Rituals has to go. |
You have a wrong concept about churches. They are places of worship of God and helping people. It takes a spiritual man to know the church of christ. These misconceptions didn't start today . The early church was labelled too. Jesus was called a dupe. Churches pray for the sick, and many get healed .of course it is wrong to tell someone not to take his drug. It is left for the individuals conviction. It is not every minister that has gift of healing. Even if hey do , it is not every person that receives healing for whatever reason. The person that didn't receive should take medication. You may say why don't they just take medication ? You should realised that many health problems are demonic. And for such , medicine can't handle them. Many people have died in the hand of doctors .they couldn't diagnose or detect the cause. Laboratory can see a demon! . Mark 5:25-26 25 In the crowd was a woman who had been sick for twelve years with a hemorrhage. 26 She had suffered much from many doctors through the years and had become poor from paying them, and was no better but, in fact, was worse. Some health problems have natural causes. And for such prayer can speed up the treatment. God heals through medicine also. The two have their places. |
9ether:Your mumbojombo may be acceptable in science and psycho section . But this is religious section.Romans 10:17 17 So then faith[ cometh] by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. |
chyz1:Hope is in the future but faith is in the now |
nuclearboy:So what's your point. |
@thehomer thehomer:There's different between seen by the senses and seen by faith. You perceive by faith and not the senses.faith may not agree with physical fact but yet it is a tangible substance. 2 Corinthians 5:7 7( For we walk by faith, not by sight 2 Corinthians 4:18 18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen[ are] temporal; but the things which are not seen[ are] eternal. |
God did not make a mistake, and he cannot make one. He is perfect, it is man that failed God. His regret is his emotion expressed at mans unfaithfulness. Man has choice and will power. A good man may change by yielding to the devil. You can't blame God for his action . |
petres_007:Precisely, or do you want to give it any private interpretation? And err. . . How come Paul, Peter, James, John and the others didn't get their 100 fold returns for this life?? Doesn't this alone tell you something? It's their choice, how come Jesus and Paul didn't Marry? Do you believe in marriage? Or celibacy. All things are available for the Christian. You decide what you lay hold on , based on your assignment.each person decides, but they have right to know what belongs to them. I think it was aletheia who pointed you to this portion of scripture earlier:There is inheritance here and beyond. And for your information there is no physica inheritance in heaven . The physical blessing is here and now for this who care. Nothing is wrong in making Christians know they can come out of sufferings by knowing what is available to them. 2 Corinthians 8:9 9 For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich. 1 Timothy 6:17 17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; |
aletheia:Check this out: Mark 10:29-30 29 And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's, 30 But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life. And I notice you didn't actually answer this: So what was the "pastor" of the OP doing? Exercising his faith? Claiming his inheritance?Does that mean you approve of his message? That wasn't a message in the first place . Some people are prophets ( this one may be fake) a prophet may be anointed only to see and prophesy and work miracles etc. Many prophets can't teach. Such should have a pastor and teacher working with them to balance the brethren. If not he will teach nonsense.except of course he humbles himself to learn. |
@Jo:You are the one always screaming give money, get power, have dominion, prado jeep here. Your pastor chris has oft introduced money into his teachings simply by saying things like "A giver is a "getter"'.So in which message did he use that phrase. Or you just assume. Anyone sitting who hears that will of course give because they wish to "get". That is the insidiousness of your false gospel - it utilizes forms which men emphatise with and makes slaves of themIt's Jesus that first preached this false gospel them Paul copied him. Acts 20:35 35 ---- remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive. Then you say there is a difference in "men of God". So let me ask you - arrange the following in order of seniority today - Myself, yourself, Kumuyi, Bakare, Adeboye, Oyakilome, Mrs Idahosa and Taiwo Odukoya.Chaii! Nuclearboy will you go this far? . You should know that i dont discuss men of God.These are generals in their own class, they are fathers to us it is too high a matter for us to dabble into by classifying them. I will rather focus on soul winning. What inheritance exactly are you speaking of here? Is it physical or spiritual? Is it of this world or another? The inheritance of Christians is here now and the world to come. |
Image123:Get it with your faith, begging won't work |
nuclearboy:What has your post got to do with developing effective personality or the holyspirit? |
Many scholars says it's heberew, he spoke in heberew to Moses and the old testament was written in Hebrew. Aslso he spoke to Saul in Hebrew despite the fact that Saul was fluent in roman language, and had roman citizenship being born there etc. |
aletheia:It's like asking if blue jeans is included. The less is included in the greater. Money is one of the least things. When God says he gave us all things he means all things. . You may ask if there is dollar in the bible. So I will rather use the word wealth and riches , they are included in the package. |
aletheia:The inheritance is a full package. All thinngs. A life of dominion over the works of Satan. Poverty, sickness, death, failure, oppression , sin. |
Let's leave men of God alone, their matters are high for us to discourse. |
nuclearboy:Why should you see everything from money perspective. Don't misquote me. I was only saying if a man is that desperate to communicate his convictions, instead of abusing ministers and church of christ, why don't he gather people and start teaching them . What has it got to do with business. Church is for building people not building money. But what if I've been called to help the poor financially? Or the youth (based on experiences as a youth earlier, myself)? Or as a marriage counsellor? Or etc etc? Have you ever considered that a Christian who opens an orphanage and dedicates their life to helping children they otherwise have no relationship with, is a man of God? Did you ever realise that someone who goes into the street to claim back youths from a life of easy virtue, drugs and crime is a man of God? Did you ever read the beatitudes? Please show me the one related to your "pastors" amongst them or are those "men of satan"?You are right, Ofcouse they are men of God.we can say all of us are men of God in a generic term but we should know the difference. Those who function in those ministry still ought to be under a pastor. They are branches under the church. We have an arm of our ministry that reach out to less privilege children. We have hostels built for them . And from time to time carry out campaign to get more children and love-peddlers off the streets. It's an arm under the church. We have prison ministry. Built chapel for them and computer centres inside the prison. For you, its just church, bring tithes, have dominion and that is why only pastors are men of God to you. So let me ask you - if God sends you to 20 people and you bring 19 to Him and God sends oyaks to 10,000 and EVENTUALLY, he brings 200 (to Heaven, not to moneeeeey), who is the greater man of God? Let me give you a hint - widows mite! Remember I asked for the "greater", not if both were, cos your style is to answer unasked questions! You are the one always emphasizing this money thing. How many times have you seen pastor chris in his messages shouting money money or in any of his books? He teaches life in christ. The truth is all have their functions and God has explained that succintly using the allegory of Christ being Head and the Church being "body". No part of your body is more important and each have their place? The fact that oyaks is (to you) a hand that everyone sees, does not make him more important than someone who could be the lifeblood (heart - prayer etc) or thigh muscle. But for you, the hand is supreme and is the APOSTLE so the rest of the body cannot talk even when it decides to go into fire. Fie!Of course scripturally the apostles are higher. There is structure in the body. The apostles, followed by the other four ministry offices and gifts. What you rather should remember is the directive to remove your eye if it will lead you to perdition which is what Kunle is doing here to your oyaks. Rather than allow him lead others to perdition, it is preferable to remove him. That is God's Word! What are we really missing here? There is inheritance for every Christian . It's a vital part of Christianity. We are not seeking gains . We are blessed , we are called into an inheritance. Everyone of us.this is confirmed in all scriptures. Denying the blessing is not humility, it's ignorance. There is more than enough for everyone. |
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the father, and of the son, and of the Holy Ghost (Matthew 28:19). Taking the Gospel to the ends of the earth in our responsibility as Christians; it’s the ministry to which we’ve been called. 2 Corinthians 3:5-6 says, “Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God; Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit…” Our sufficiency – the power and ability that works within us to preach the Gospel is of God. This is the reason we ought to be daring with the Gospel. The Apostle Paul understood this and declared “…for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!” (1 Corinthians 9:16). Have you come to such a conclusion? Has it dawned on you that necessity is laid upon you to preach the Gospel? Your primary responsibility on earth is to preach the Gospel and fill the hearts of men with the blessed news of Christ’s salvation. In Romans 1:16, Paul said “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth…” This explains the passion, conviction, fervency and urgency of the Spirit with which he preached the Gospel, even at the peril of his life (Acts 21:13). Nothing else mattered to him but the preaching of the Gospel. As believers, we should like the Apostle Paul, embrace the preaching of the Gospel with an attitude of conviction and boldness, knowing that this Gospel of the Kingdom has been committed to our trust (1 Timothy 1:11). I heard the testimony of some believers who wanted to visit and preach to prisoners but weren’t allowed. Instead of hanging their heads in discouragement, they got a copy of the nation’s laws and searched for light offences they could commit that would land them in prison for three months! They needed three glorious months of evangelism in the prison and they got it! They were daring with the Gospel. Christianity isn’t just about getting God to do things for you; it’s an active life of service to the Lord, where you function here on earth as His missionary. So have a burning determination, borne out of absolute conviction to preach the Gospel everywhere and at all times. It’s your call, and you must be daring with it. Prayer Dear Heavenly Father, I thank you for counting me faithful and entrusting me with the ministry of reconciling men to you. Thank you for the fire of your Spirit to preach the Gospel that’s burning fervently in me, causing me to be zealous, effective and fruitful in the preaching of the Gospel today, in the Jesus’ Name. Amen. Further Study Acts 21:13 Then Paul answered, What mean ye to weep and to break mine heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus. 1 Corinthians 9:16-17 For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel! For if I do this thing willingly, I have a reward: but if against my will, a dispensation of the gospel is committed unto me. 2 Corinthians 5:20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God. If you are a son of God, the spirit of leadership rest on you. Deuteronomy 28:13 13 And the Lord shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the LORD thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do[ them]: It's a spirit of champion and excellence . Whatever you do, you should excel and be a trail blazer. Not lagging behind. Simply be the best of you |

And don’t let anyone put you down because you’re young. Teach believers with your life: by word, by demeanor, by love, by faith, by integrity (1 Timothy 4:12 MSG). The Christians are the stewards of the message of Christ. We’re the ones He has authorized to carry forth His message to the people and teach them the same. This means that responsibility of leadership has been thrust upon us. Jesus has made us leaders; He’s made us light to shine in our world and show others the way. To be a leader, you don’t necessarily have to be the head of an organization. Genesis 39:1-5 tells us about Joseph, who was a slave in the house of Potiphar, yet the Bible says he was a prosperous and effective man. He exhibited leadership qualities which distinguished him from all the other slaves and soon enough, he was put in charge of Potiphar’s whole estate. Your greatness isn’t in the definition of your assignment, but in the quality of your spirit; the excellence of your character. Thus even as a janitor, cleaner, or manager in an organization, you can be so exceptional, exemplary and inspiring. To that organization, you become what the sons of Issachar were to the nation of Israel in 1 Chronicles 12:32: “And of the children of Issachar, which were men that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do; the heads of them were two hundred; and all their brethren were at their commandment” You also know what needs to be done because you have understanding of the times. Make up your mind to be that person that will excel in whatever he does. If you work for an organization, let your colleagues learn from you as they see you do more than you’re paid for. If you’re a politician, set an example for the other politicians and be forthright. No matter your vocation, let your proficiency be a testimony of the excellent spirit within you. As a parent, lay good examples for your children. Wherever you go, let people see your mark as a child of God. You’ve been sent to lead, therefore be that worthy example! Teach those in your home, school, neighbourhood and workplace how to live and do things right through your words, character, love, faith and integrity. Prayer Dear Father, I thank you for making me a testimony and an example to everyone in my world! Today, through your grace and ability at work in me, I function with such an outstanding proficiency that everyone around me is inspired for excellence; and I’m teaching them how to live and do things right through my words, actions, character, love, faith and integrity, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. Definitely , judgement will come upon every evil doer. False prophet, apostle and false brethren. There is an end for them. We should also know that the way of truth had been called heretic in times past. Those who called them heretic can see how wrong they were by now. I would not want to fall into the same trap . I will rather take the path of the word and leave the judgement to God. He says we should judge nothing before the time. Even if we are so sure we are right, we do more damage to the innocent bystander that would have been saved. Jesus said we should leave the tares and the wheat to grow. He knows what to do. I was once in a white garment church. But when I found greater light, I began to pray for people there to see light. God hears me. Many of them are embracing truth. I can't say because of zeal I now go online to write " 50 evils been done in so and so |
But the informations are there on the TV. warning people from other nations not to come without invitation. They should apply and wait for their turns |
SirJohn:Mark 11:23-24 23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. 24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive[ them], and ye shall have[ them]. There should be miracle in the Christian life. You can get it free, cheap. Or God grant you the idea and opportunity to get the money. When you start making your faith declarations, you create an atmosphere for the miraculous . |
Jesus was apostle, Paul was an apostle .They have such authority. And Paul didn't take Peter to the hill of mars for rebuke, it was in the church. You will not find revolt from members of the church encouraged in the bible. Or rebellion to insituted authority. Either secular government or church government. I'm not against anybody airing his opinion but there is bible way. Not in name callings and abuses. My own system from my understanding of Gods word is intercession. It's been working over the years . I pray for every minister of God to come to full knowledge of truth. Churches like deeper life once stood against having TV in their homes but now they do, they even preach on TV. WHAT's that ? To me it's answer to prayers. Several church doctrines have changed over the years. We intercede for government , pastors , brethren that all may come to full knowledge of truth. But you don't take steps of reproach to the body of christ publicly. We only harden the hearts of sinners against God. So who's interest are serving? |
