As a correct football fan I have been playing "winning eleven 9" 2005 edition for years and I'm still stuck on it. I love it cos I can select a man utd side that still has ronaldo, roy keane and van nistelrooy or a real madrid side with zidane, raul and roberto carlos in their prime

To be honest I wouldn't have paid the article any attention if it hadn't been written by Toyin Akinosho.

coogar: use sleeper cell groups to infiltrate the group and get the top leaders arrested! under 3 months, i would achieve this without breaking any sweat. no terrorist group can be more powerful than the government - i am starting to think jonathan knows much more than he's admitting about this terrorist group. they could be working for him!
I used to think it was straightforward until I sat with a buddy in the security services. Infiltrating the cells are highly difficult because unlike al-qaeda these BH guys are a tighter knit bunch relying on family and ethnic ties and wrapping it all up in religion.

Check the headlines today. Southern papers are reporting 20 terrorists killed while the Daily Trust (a northern daily) reported 20 people killed. There is an information/sentiment campaign ongoing against GEJ and while its a political one between politicians its effects on the psyche in the northern streets are devastating.

That said I think GEJ is puzzy notwithstanding
Politics › Re: Babangida’s Endorsement Of APC Rattles PDP by joeyfire(m): 3:23pm On Mar 02, 2013
@Byrron - spot on bruv.I am beginning to see a similar pattern to how nigerians too eager to see the back of the military allowed the PDP to become the country's new devil. Then we heard rhetoric like "letting the country move forward", "safeguard nascent democracy" etc.

Now PDP is the new military and in the minds of many APC has the answers to all our problems. Nigerians are smarter than they were in 1999 I just hope we don't go to sleep again while a new monster is born.

What is IBB playing at? Once that man is involved, a million alarm bells go off in my mind. Either way no matter the party that wins, IBB's tentacles will survive. That I'm sure of.

On NL. Right now people just conjure up all kinds of stories to back up their political arguments.in a history section everything must have a source or will or end up looking silly
Politics › Re: Do We Need A History Section? by joeyfire(m): 7:35am On Mar 01, 2013
Very good idea. It will go a long way in separating history from politics (if that's possible). The standards will be inevitably a lot higher than the politics section where people are rewriting history everyday at will

Crap ! This is an excerpt from the news article -

Taskforce Chairman, Bayo Sulaiman, Chief Superintendent of Police, said the suspects would be charged to court soon for the law to take its due course.

“They initially dared us by showing us their charms...
Chairman of Mushin Local Government, Olatunde Adepintan had told the taskforce that criminals and suspected members of Bakassi Boys were living inside the market"

So because olatunde adepintan says they are bakassi then it means they are?

alj harem: Look my brothers, I would not go down this tribal issue. Yorubas and Lagosians have NOTHING AGAINST IGBOS. What we type here on Nairaland stays on nairaland. Yorubas love igbos and have nothing against Ndigbos. Trying to bring an ethnic militant to fight your battle when we can discuss on a round table is just nonsensical and I am sure you would agree with me.
Oga nobody brought ethnic militants to lagos to fight an battle. Every market has security personnel. Don't spin this out of shape like many of your brothers do on this site and the internet in general. Those guys have probably been in that market for years without anybody noticing them except the thieves , area boys and arsonists who like to attack markets.

alj harem: Were they OPC or Arewa shouting and carrying dangerous weapon all in the name of a closed market. So because of a closed market, you want Bakassi boys to cause civil unrest ?

So it is better we all ask for solutions rather than thinking of how to create civil unrest because of a closed market.
This guy sef. Who tried to cause civil unrest. God dey look you o
Politics › Re: Enough Of This Oppression And Injustice Against Igbo Traders In Lagos State! by joeyfire(m): 6:48am On Feb 28, 2013
For me its 50/50 blame for the traders and fashola's government.

To the traders if you know you are living and trading in a place where u are resented by the general populace and easy picking for the govt of the day then you should watch your azz and go the extra mile in ensuring that your tax money is used to keep the place clean chikena. In fairness to the lagos govt they had been warning the traders for a long long time. Yorubas don't like igbos generally so even if jankara market which has mostly yorubas is also dirty it will not receive the kind of sentiment that ladipo will get.

Fashola's should not stop at blaming everything on the traders because there is a government that has an agency pre-occupied with cleaning that failed in its duties in ladipo market. Also the govt just found a treasure of propaganda by arresting the market security men who they referred to as bakassi boys. Lol. There is nothing like bakassi boys anymore and where are the "dangerous weapons" that were found on them. No pictures?? The endless harrassment and mysterious fires in lagos markets has necessitated the hiring of these guys. Its laughable that opc guys can parade the streets of lagos with guns and all sorts of weapons, even shooting in the air in public places and they are cheered on and they catch igbo security guys with cutlasses and its a big deal.

Nobody is innocent here

Sealeddeal: If you have any credible reasons why Ifeanyi Ubah should not run for anambra state governorship,do tell us.
If you equally have a verifiable reasons why Ifeanyi Ubah should not be allowed into anambra state government house,do tell us.
There is need for anambra to elect those who are already 'made' to take care of their development.
Anambra must move forward and i am in full support of anything/anybody thats ready to move anambra state forward.
Mr Ifeanyi Ubah is a famous anambrarians who is notable for his many philantropic gestures towards anambrarians.
He is a mediocre with a very questionable past. How did he become a billionaire? Is he educated? Even in nnewi he is seen as a loudmouth, money-miss-road. I heard he was slapped by one nnewi big-man (note I didn't say big boy) a few years ago for insulting ibeto at a party

@op- there is a concept of "free your mind" that was popular in the early nineties. Years later we have witnessed moral standards plummet to new depths. Must everything have rights? Is nothing worth holding the fort for? After gays what next? Legalise bestiality? Mankind has been smitten by God on several occasions for freeing this mind too much.

Gay rights will hasten the wrath of God on mankind. My hand no dey
