This is our only nation, we can only talk and protest peacefully, as the law proposes...but there comes a breaking point when the people feel they have nothing to loose, that's when chaos ensues, fueled by hunger and deprivation, the people will resort to violence, it is a natural reaction...I pray this political class are sensitive enough to take drastic measures, rescind this naira floating for now, it will lead to disaster. This floating is bad for the naira, in a free market, the naira can never compete with dollars, in this present conditions. Let's look for trade partners and pay with naira, sell our crude and gas in naira, to boost naira value.

Economics in real life is different from text book economics...we need to do what work for us and our people, this is why we have an economic minister, and economic team, to fashion solutions that fit our indegenous problems. IMF either does not care about Nigeria or is completely out of touch of the reality here, I find it absurd that only yesterday they adviced Nigerian government to remove electricity subsidies. IMF can not be using European template to advice us in Nigeria. In Europe they have good public healthcare, good subsidized public transportation, subsidized food, good social care, and some nations pay their citizens social security payments, IMF did not tell America to stop paying his citizens free salaries because America owes debt, up to the tune of 20trillion dollars.

In Nigeria there is nothing you can mention that the citizens enjoy... subsidies must come back, for us to boost our home economy, for Nigeria is sustained by the millions of small businesses that depends on cheap fuel, cheap electricity tarrifs to survive and thrive.

I am a research on igbo cultural topics. 90% of the papers I read for academics will begin with 'The Igbos are an ethnic group in the south east of Nigeria'. Am telling you, the subsidy removed, individuals in government pockets the money, economy shrinks, small businesses shut down, unemployment skyrocket, no money to spend, shops close down, people are frustrated, crimes increase. IMF is not here, we should not be listening to people who are at the other side of the globe. All these tightening of people's disposable income will ultimately lead to a vicious circle.

Nigerians thrive on their own, as long as prices are reasonable, this extremely high prices will push many to act abnormal.

All the money Nigeria makes from subsidy removal, from expanded taxes... allocations to governors have increased, but the masses can't have anything.

Only local solutions will solve local issues, IMF is only concerned about collecting back it's loan. A government is not a company, the aim of a company is to make profits, the aim of a government is to take care of the people with national wealth, government take care of the people through welfare, subsides, direct payments etc...I don't understand this Tinubu administration at all. Electricity subsidy is one of the ways government impact small businesses and all Nigerians, if they can't power their small shops, or power their fan to sleep peacefully at night, they will turn to crime. Does this government really want to destroy Nigeria?

Forex problem is about too much demand for dollars, due to high importation volume, and hoarding of dollars by Nigerians causing dollar scarcity...it's very different from government protecting it's people against producers and manufacturers from exploiting the people.
