Some highlights from this page: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/questions-answers-by-topic.asp?st=3.2What is a complex permanent residence application? If your application is complex, it may take us longer than normal processing times to process your application. Your application may be more complex if: the contact information on file (address, telephone, email) is outdated and we can’t contact you or a family member we requested more documents and they weren’t submitted on time, or at all your dependant(s) turned 18 since you applied you added dependant(s) to your application since you applied your dependant(s) got married and/or had children of their own since you applied you provided legal documents to confirm a change to your marital status, or about child custody you or your family member were asked to resubmit a medical exam because one expired (exams for every person must all be valid at the same time) you or a family member were asked to appear for an interview you or a family member might not be eligible background checks are still in progress for you or your family members Why are there differences in processing times among regions and offices?Visa offices face different challenges operating in different countries and regions, and even in different offices within the same region. We may move applications between our offices to make sure they are processed as efficiently as possible. Your application may not be processed at the office closest to where you live or where you submitted your application. Processing times may vary based on: the type of application submitted if the application is complete how quickly we process applications we’ve already received how easily we can verify your information how long you take to respond to any request or concerns other factors How can I avoid delays or refusals in processing my application? To help avoid delays or a refusal, make sure that you: carefully read the application guide for your immigration category and follow the instructions; properly fill out, sign and date the application form(s); if required, provide biometrics (fingerprints and photos) as soon as possible within 30 days of receiving the request; include all the required documents as indicated on the application checklist; pay the right fee using the correct method of payment; include the payment with your application; and double-check your application before submitting it. Things that can cause delays: Your medical and security screening takes longer than usual We need to interview you You communicate with us by mail instead of using an online account You don’t respond to our requests for information quickly High numbers of applications |

I believe it should be where you are applying from. Requirements for TRV vary depending on which country you are applying from. Demi007: Good morning seniors,
Please i saw something on misrepresentation posted here yesterday.
And one of the things i read was ‘failure to notify that you applied for visa can count as misrepresentation “.
I applied for a visa first week in August, then my husband did the whole PR thing and we just submitted this September (meaning he is the PA, not me).
However, we didn’t state that i applied for visa (we didn’t think it necessary because my application is still pending, im NOT the PA and I haven’t been granted or denied the visa) .
But ive been advised that hubby should raise a CSE just to be on the on the safe side. Now in raising this CSE, we came across this “Is your application is being processed inside or outside Canada”. Do we click yes or no? Im confused on whether they mean where we are applying from, or where our VO is (which i dont know).
Please kindly respond. Thank you all |

Something on misrepresentation:
"The following situations would generally constitute misrepresentation: An applicant fails to disclose that they recently applied for a visa to Canada. An applicant fails to disclose a criminal record, even if it is eventually established that they are not inadmissible under the criminality provisions (either due to lack of equivalency or because of the deemed rehabilitated class, for example). An applicant for a visa fails to disclose the existence of family members, even if the family members could satisfy the requirements of the Act. [R117(9)(d)] An applicant fails to disclose that they were previously issued a removal order in Canada, even if they would not require consent to return. An applicant includes a nephew in their application and lists this person as a son. An applicant misrepresents the age of a family member who could otherwise not be included in the application. A skilled worker applicant submits a false education certificate in an effort to meet selection criteria that they would not otherwise meet. Failure to disclose changes in marital status or changes in material facts since visa issuance abroad [R51]
The following situations would not generally constitute misrepresentation: Mistakes or misunderstandings: An applicant who indicates the current year as their year of birth; or reverses the date and month of birth on an application form. An applicant who indicates being single, when in fact they are widowed. An applicant who fails to disclose being denied entry into Canada when attempting to enter from the United States for an afternoon five years ago. The applicant explains that because “withdrawal” was effected, the notion of having been denied entry into Canada was not properly understood (that is, the applicant did not believe entry into Canada had been denied because the option of withdrawal or “Allowed to Leave” was offered and exercised) and the applicant, in the officer’s opinion, is credible. Other cases where a person answers truthfully at an interview without hesitation and it is reasonable to believe that the person did not understand the question on the application form or forgot the relevant information at that time."

I just like Quebec plus it's an alternative to the main Federal programme.....don't put your eggs in one basket "tings"!
I've looked at the others.
ONTARIO has a French PNP programme might consider it. NB has NOC conditionality to the TEF score. Manitoba is getting too inland....na! trying to stay as close to the east coast as possible.
Also french is not really by choice...I actually need the 30 extra points - age factor issue |

I understand it is still a work in progress. "Persons who want to immigrate to Québec under the Skilled Worker Program can soon submit a declaration of interest through the Arrima system (declaration of interest system). Intake of immigration applications for this program will now be carried out through this system." https://www.immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca/en/informations/news/news-2018/new-rules-reception2018.html"Stay informed by checking the News page on the Ministère de l’Immigration, de la Diversité et de l’Inclusion website for all the details on the new immigration system based on the statement of interest and, more specifically, the launch date for the Arrima Portal." http://www.immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca/en/informations/mon-projet-quebec/index.htmlMamaroon: hello everyone.
Apologies please if this is the wrong thread. I know Quebec has a separate process from the Federal program.
Pls does any one have a link for the Quebec portal for applying for immigration "Arrima". I understand that from August 1, "Mon Projet" is no longer available. Looked and looked, they keep describing it but I can't seem to find it.
Thanks. |

You may be required to present your POF at the Port of Entry (POE) in the airport during landing. Debzyworld: Thanks @joo2018 I meant won't they be requesting for the statement of account again after PR is gotten or at the airport (just to ensure you still have the funds). |

I don't really understand the question, but you are to provide a bank statement in the CIC format or 6 month statement if you can't get it in the CIC format. The gift deed and LOE is to explain the bulk sum receipt showing in your statement. Debzyworld: Hello guys, I've an enquiry to make as regards proof of funds. Is it okay to just have a bulk sum sent to your account as a gift (with affidavit and LOE) attached. Would another bank statement be required from you again? |

Ok. Valid point. Tojued: Not necessary in my opinion. Use of LOE should be as limited as possible.
I feel like the more documentation provided, the more there is to review. Keeping it simple is always difficult in the anxiety of submitting. Then later when you start wondering whether they've sent you to London you'll be regretting all the extra stuff you put. Hindsight will make you realise they were unnecessary. |

You can add a LOE. boundlessjoy: Hi guys, so I have this one year degree that I did not evaluate, and so I didn’t include it in my profile pre-ITA. Now I have to account for the period I spent getting that degree post-ITA.
I have gone ahead to include it in my personal history. Does it matter that I didn’t mention it in my profile only to include it in my personal history post-ITA? Will I be misrepresenting anything for not including it at the initial stage? I’m not claiming points for it that’s why I didn’t include it when I was creating my profile. |
