Congrats! Go and excel!
ASEC:
Mine didn't follow regular timeline.

ITA - Feb 4th
AOR - April 13th
Med.passed - April 21
Since then my profile remained stagnant (reviewing eligibility)
Then the Golden mail landed Oct 2nd.
VO was Ottawa.

Hi, I'm afraid the answer to the first is beyond my ken. To the second, if you plan to fly in Canada, then it is advised to school in Canada. A lot of Canadian companies have this requirement/prejudice called "Canadian experience."

I did a quick search. You can check this: https://www.monster.ca/career-advice/article/become-a-pilot

Also, a simple search of pilot/flights schools in Canada through google will provide you with options.

Goodluck.
Jay95:
I just came across this thread.
I am in my early twenties. I plan on relocating to canada by nxt year through aviation school. I am an aspiring pilot. Could you help me with the procedures and recommendations for the best flight academies in canada? Or is it better i study elsewhere then come back to CD ane look 4 job?

It was a concern of mine, but no more. You must factor in that ITAs are a means to a target and that is PR admissions. ITAs can be declined by candidates and applications can rejected by IRCC. We don't know the rates of either.

I think now that what they are looking at is PR landing which is still within range (about 168,000 between Jan-Jul 2018 out of a target of about 310,000). Considering that PR admissions target for next year is higher than this year's and noting that high numbers of ITAs are still being issued, I'm relaxed for now.

Expresso17:
Just thinking....
Government of Canada has a target of 74,900 invitations for the year 2018, they have issued 66,400 ITAs as at now.
This means only 8500 is left for 2018 which is just about 2/3 draws....so are they going to increase the target or these figures are wrong or the year will be ending soon for ITAs

The trend is consistent. I've always wondered about it. It appears as if people wait until a few days to the draw before submitting new EE profiles.
Ramj:
From the distribution below it means at least 1700 people with CRS above 445 entered the pool in just 6 days between 27 Sep - 03 Oct.

This is real diving into the ocean

3,900 ITAs at 445 points. And the pool is still increasing. More than 91,000 now. Canada EE getting tighter.

Pension stuff issa page 1 something. Anyways, best case scenario is that you get a letter from your PFA stating your balance and that you will have access to it after 4 months of resigning. You can check page 1 for more.

The money should be a gift, not borrowed.
wisdom4today:
Thanks a lot for your prompt response.

Please what is the process of adding the 25% pension? Does it mean I need to get my pension account statement from my pension fund ( Leadway Pension )?

Also, most of my friends will only accept to give me some support ONLY on the condition that I will send them the money once I get to Canada ( is this option advisable? As I suppose the requirement is that the money be give as a gift, not lended)

Congratulations! Go and shine!

Submit both. The US passport will not be stamped anyway as it is from a visa-less country. You can renew his US passport if you are not traveling before Feb.
wurdz:
Biko, i need epp/advise/suggestions

TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 5 by joo2018:
1. No. You must declare your family. If you do not, it is misrepresentation and carries 5yr ban. If you for whatever reason scale through the application, you can never sponsor them to Canada. You can however choose spouse unaccompanying and plan to sponsor them later, but it makes no difference to the settlement funds required. See below.
2. No. You will be required to show POF for all. IRCC requires you to be able to take care of your family as if you are in Canada, whether they go with you or not.

My 2cents. You are almost there on the money required. Have you explored adding 25% of your pension and getting a gift?
omonaija4real:
House please I need candid advice for the ITA application to Canada.

I want to travel first and then move the rest of the family over because I currently have 5 million naira which should cover the proof of funds for only one person, plus logistics fees needed to travel for only one person.

NOW MY QUESTIONS:
1. In the application, should I apply as a single person, since I want to travel alone first? Won't this option bring up honestly issues latter when I want to start processing the papers for the rest of the family once I get to Canada?

2. If we are to apply as a family, can I be allowed to show proof of funds for only myself, since I am the only one traveling first or would I be still required to show proof of funds for 5 persons?

What is the best way to go about this please?

Thanks in advance for your prompt response.

Your question is not clear.
Anyway, you don't need birth certificate for WES or to create your EE profile. I don't know about PEBC.
You might need birth certificate for eAPR if you are claiming points from a sibling in Canada.
FaskRolce:
As one of the documents to submit for credential evaluation with PEBC (or WES) or while filling the EE form, what type of Birth certificate is required? Is it the one from the hospital of birth or national population commission? Is declaration of age accepted?

Thanks for the post. Great contribution. Gold standard we have been waiting for.

I hope that debate can be put to bed now.
armstead:
To corroborate your point above, I applied for GCMS in August in order to specifically check if my pension fund was considered as the PF is the only source of additional fund to complete my POF requirement. To my amusement, I received my GCMS notes today; lo and behold my Pension fund statement with LeadwayPensure was accepted and considered without any review required. Please see screenshot attached.

For those who find IELTS listening difficult:

"For the listening practice, I wish I had stumbled into IELTS-mentor.com prior to my 6th attempt. You should definitely use this website and, attempt finishing the listening practice tests. There are about 14 of them. The answer section will show/tell you all that you had done wrongly in the previous exams. At the point where it says "you have sometime to look at your answers" during the listening test, kindly move on to next session if you have nothing to look at. That's actually the trick to have a headstart.
(Pls, don't apply for another exam unless you start to score 37 and above in the listening practice)."

1-3 are all valid options. Personally I prefer 3, it seems simpler.
4 is your personal decision. You can leave it in the account, fixed it or buy a TBill.
5 you can submit any time. The gift deed covers you.

Visa refusal. Yes, you must include it when submitting your eAPR.
SAnode:
Good evening house,
My hubby is the PA and I have a few questions regarding POF and spouse details.

POF
Our POF is a lump sum from my dad and we need clarifications on how my hubby can use it
1. Can my dad write a deed of gift for my hubby?
2. If no, should the money be transferred to me and then I transfer to hubby while hubby writes an LOE?
3. Should the money come from my dad to our joint account and then my dad writes a deed of gift?
4. After the POF has been transferred, is there still need to put it in fixed deposit or buy tbills?
5. If yes, how long should either of them run before submitting ITA

Spouse
I have been rejected US family visa with my maiden family before, should it also be included? where? and How?

You should include all your children. Any dependant you do not mention in your application, you cannot sponsor later. Also you run the risk of being found out and charged for misrepresentation.
HBP shouldn't be a cause for concern.
Cece23:
Please I have questions bothering me. When you have more than five children, do you need to include all as your dependant. Then if you have High blood pressure, will affect your chances.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 5 by joo2018:
Continuing our earlier discussion...did further study.

1.The total core/human capital points is the same for both single and married: 500.
For single, it is straight 500, while for married it is 460 for PA and 40 for accompanying spouse i.e. 40 points are removed from the PA's age, language, education and Canadian work experience factors.

2. As long as the spouse has a good language score, total points with spouse accompanying will be higher than single or spouse unaccompanying. This is because the 10 points removed the PA's age factor is added to the 10 points from his/her language factor and used as 20 points for the spouse's language factor. The spouse's language results thus has extra weight.

3. Spouse unaccompanying will have more points than spouse accompanying if the spouse's education and/or ielts results do not compensate for the 30 points removed from the PA's age, ielts and education (I'm using ielts for language and ignoring the 10 points from Canadian work experience).
Some scenarios in which that can happen are:
a. The spouse has very poor ielts results.
b. The spouse has lower educational qualifications than the PA.
c. The spouse does not write ielts.
d. The spouse didn't do an ECA.

4. My calculations on ages 35-37 was wrong. With a good language score from the spouse and identical educational qualifications, with spouse points is always higher than without spouse.

Factor points
CRS tool
Ifeoma77:
Age really has nothing to do with it.
Let's take a 28 years old with Masters, 3 years work experience and LRWS 8777. Her spouse has a masters and LRWS 8777. Their CRS will be 472.
If she puts spouse as unaccompanying, CRS drops to 469.
Literally, two heads are better than one.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 5 by joo2018:
As long as you can trace your job to a Canadian NOC 0, A or B you are good to go. I think, though, your application might go through extra security screening. My thoughts.

TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 5 by joo2018:
You are on point.
Playing with the crs calculator, it seems the advantage of going spouse unaccompanying breaks down at ages 35-37.
At age 36, your points going together and going unaccompanying are more or less the same. Though the crs calculator is giving me a 6 points drop between ages 36 and 37 and not 5.
At age 35, your points are higher unaccompanied.

My 2cents on points increase. You and your hubby have done the best you can on Ielts. Redoing ielts for that 7.0 to 7.5 in writing, I don't know, might be hard since the marking seems subjective.
If you take annual leave, do an intensive program on TEF and do the exam immediately, a mid-range score will take you over.

Update: Analysis in the highlighted is faulty. Check this for correct analysis.
ddymples:
Hello people,

I thought that if you apply as married, you have lower points than if you apply as single/hubby non-accompanying.

Oya epp me torchlit this scenario o

Married (PA), 37, Masters, IELTS - 8.5,9,7,8(LRWS)
Hubby - Masters, 7.5,8.5,7,7
CRS - 439

But if it is spouse unaccompanying, the score drops to 434. Is there something we are not getting right? pls assist.

Thank you.

TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 5 by joo2018: 9:44am On Sep 27, 2018
It has to be a family decision having weighed the risks and benefits.

See the basic requirements:
"You can become a sponsor if you are:

at least 18 years old
a Canadian citizen, a person registered in Canada as an Indian under the Canadian Indian Act or a permanent resident living in Canada:
If you are a Canadian citizen living outside Canada, you must show that you plan to live in Canada when your sponsored relative(s) become(s) a permanent resident.
You can’t sponsor someone if you are a permanent resident living outside Canada.
able to prove that you are not receiving social assistance for reasons other than a disability, and;
can provide for the basic needs of any person you are sponsoring (and in some limited situations, that you meet the low-income cut-off)."

The implication is that you can only sponsor if you have gotten a good job and you are settled. The current processing time is 12months. You need to factor in those expected time of separation. Though your spouse may apply for TRV for visits and you can travel too.

Study the application guide in this link: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/application-forms-guides/guide-5289-sponsor-your-spouse-common-law-partner-conjugal-partner-dependent-child-complete-guide.html#eligibility

Btw, have you exhausted the PNP option and have you considered Masters option or taking up French? Those are options that can increase your points.

Chikaima18:
Good morning everyone.
A friend referred me to this page. Please i need advise and guide from the house.
I have been in he express entry pool since 2016 but my score has been 406. Am married with kids and I am the primary applicant. My husband stopped at junior secondary school and so has no certificate for me to claim points with.
I had aced my ielts on my first sitting and am 28 years so I got the high points on this part.
A friend advised me to remove my husband from my application and first apply for myself and my kids and when I get the visa I can now apply for my husband.
Please does any one have any experience on this and please advise me if i should go this way.
Thank you for your responses in advance
