joo2018:
Has anyone been able to reach BC concerning the IELTS exam this weekend in light of the strike starting tomorrow?

I have someone scheduled to write.
Anyone? We've been trying to reach them. I guess we can assume the exam is still going ahead. Hopefully, there will be no disruptions.

Slide to PM.
simplyalero:
NO it wasn't. it was paid to me in cash. hence, my dilemma.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 5 by joo2018: 8:48pm On Sep 26, 2018
Was it paid to you from a business or personal account and was the payment accompanied by a receipt or invoice? This might help to show provenance.
simplyalero:
Hello everyone, kudos for the great job thus far. please i have a question as regarding POF. i helped transact a deal regarding a landed property and i was paid a commission on the same in cash (precisely in dollars). i'm planning on paying this into my dorm account and using it as part of my POF. but being a lump sum, it might raise a red flag and i don't know how to explain it. I'm not a real estate agent as i have my own job as a civil servant. but the nature of my job allows me the opportunity to deal in this kind of transactions every once in a while being that I'm in the ministry of lands.

Hello Fam,

Please I my passport expires May 2018, do you think I should apply for a fast track renewal before I submit or submit my application and raise CSE later around November.

Thanks.

When you apply.
"You will need to show proof that you have enough money when you apply to immigrate.....The funds must be available both when you apply and when (if) we issue you a permanent resident visa."
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/express-entry/documents/proof-funds.html

You only have 60 days to apply which isn't that long.
FaskRolce:
Thank you all for this awesome platform. I just joined this tread. Do you mean the money must have been ready before I enter the pool? Or it can be ready when I receive ITA. I intend using gift deed.
Please clarify

Good day House. You guys have been really helpful all through my canny process. However I have another question. So I woke up this morning to a CPCO-Final Request mail saying ready for visa and that I should submit my passport. Now I’m really happy but I just logged in to my application and it still says ‘in progress’. Guys please before I continue dancing here, is it normal?

Your choice:
1. Use your account if you are accompanying and present a letter certifying that she has access to the funds.
2. Transfer to her and use a gift deed.

Hello house, my wife is the PA and what she has in her bank account is very low and she is about to enter the pool before the end of this month. She has no access into my account because my account is a salary account. Can I send money into her account as a gift ?

You must submit your divorce papers if your application is still with IRCC. Until you land in Canada and become a PR, you are required to notify IRCC about any changes to your family composition including divorce. Once you become a PR, you don't have much to do with IRCC again until time comes to renew your PR or apply for citizenship.
Unless you mean to ask if you can 'apply' for divorce. Yes, you can. It is your life.
Bola2202:
The third question is that after getting PR, can I submit my divorce papers?
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 5 by joo2018: 4:50pm On Sep 25, 2018
I think you should first use the CRS calculator to know who will be PA between you and your hubby. Then you can tackle the self-employment issues. Only the PA will need to validate his work experience as long as it is not Canadian.
jordie:
Good day everyone.

Ihave tried to assimilate as much as I can from part 1 but not so many people have used self employ for EE.
Since graduation I have always worked for family. I dont have a pay slip since its a family business since 2004. I started out on, my own 2009 till present. The company is registered by my Mum she's late now. I do pay tax but unfortunately in my own name cos the company name is used by me and my siblings. We offer different services.
My husband also is self employed, we have a school he manages.
He has an MSC while I have a Bsc.
please can you give suggestions on how to go about this. Am kinda confused.
thanks.

Relax. Cost of eyeglasses is cheap na and the cost threshold of medical inadmissibility is quite high.

But for your own sake, go and get glasses.
Akpasomething:
Hi guys,

Please I have a concern with my Medicals at IOM.

The Doctor said my Eyesight is going bad!!! That I'm unable to see far objects.

I haven't worn glasses in my life before.

Is that a ground for Medical Inadmissibility?

Hello people, I'm so sorry to digress a little here. While awaiting the verdict on my ielts writing remark, I am considering taking the French exams with zero French knowledge. Could anyone point me to the right direction here? Where do I start from? Is there a recommended affordable french school on the mainland? Is there a French group I could join?

Thanks in anticipation.

Thanks for the reply.

The job prospect for an Engineer with Lean Six Sigma certification at the minimum Black Belt level was excellent about 10-15 years ago when I ventured into it. While currently, the prospect may not be excellent but it is still VERY GOOD and I would advice you to consider it as an Engineer. Infact, that certification was what paved the way for me into management roles. My first two posts on this Nairaland platform in 2006 was about Lean Six Sigma. See the posts here:

TravelRe: Living In Canada/Life As A Canadian Immigrant by joo2018: 9:53pm On Sep 24, 2018
Great post.
Referencing your moniker, what are the job prospects for six sigma certification.
Thinking of doing IASSC Lean Six Sigma certification. Background is Engineering. Work experience is in manufacturing.
SixSigma1:
Now to my personal experience in management roles in the steel manufacturing industry (Ontario) and presently in the oil and gas industry (Alberta), all I can say is that if you have the opportunity to be hired or promoted into management role and your goal is to make money please take it. For most people (maybe not everybody) money is a key motivating factor that made us strive to get into management. Yes, in management role you work more than 40 hours in a week most of the time which you do not get paid for. The part of your work that will mainly make you work over 40 hours a week are mainly attending one management meeting or the other, writing one report or the other etc. However, while you don’t get paid for overtime you get the following: Performance bonus (which could be as high as double your base salary or as low as nothing), stock option, actual stock (this is different from stock option), profit sharing (if it is not a publicly traded private company).

Draw #100. IRCC and unpredictability sha. I had that feeling but when I checked in the afternoon, it had not been posted.
The bolded is only likely if IRCC doesn't postpone the the next draw to another 2wks like in May/June and/or reduce no of ITAs.
If the next draw is postponed, they may have gotten round the issue of doing 3 big draws in October (5wks).
tobey2ng:
A draw has just taken place for FST @284. This shows that there is likely low cut draws for people below 440 before the year runs out. # someone should be motivated

People have used either and gotten PPR. My 2cents: use employment.
LadyBR:
Hello, please would you advice I fill nysc as government or employment in my PR application as I am about to submit.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 5 by joo2018: 8:06pm On Sep 24, 2018
I think option 1 is better. People have posted getting extensions. If you can provide evidence of his travel, so much better.
VFUSION:
Please I need advise.I am so confused. So I recieved my PPR mail on Sept the 19th.And the mail says we shd submit our passports in 15 days..Don't know if this is 15 working days sha.My hubby is out of town with his passport and he doesn't get back till next month..Don't really know what to do.
1.Do I send them a mail asking for and extension?would that reason be valid enough?
2.Do I submit with the kids then when he comes back submit his seperately?

Please what are your tots abeg...

I just weak...sometn wen person don dey wait for since..

TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 5 by joo2018:
From CIC.
"...documentation to support a declaration of status as “legally separated” (e.g., a letter of explanation, legal documents, etc.), if applicable." check here.

"...a separation agreement, a court order in respect of custody of children substantiating the marriage breakdown, or
documents removing the legally married spouse(s) from insurance policies or wills as beneficiaries (a “change of beneficiary” form)". check here.

Note that there have been instances where case officers were not satisfied with the documents provided and still asked for divorce papers (check here and check here)

Take note though that you must get a consent letter from him/her to include your children in your application or provide a legal document handing over custody of your children to you (see here).

As long as you are married, your spouse, separated or not is part of your application and is only exempted from eligibility. He/she may be evaluated for admissibility i.e. the spouse may need to do medicals, get PCC and criminality checks will be done on him/her by the relevant government agencies (see here).

Bola2202:
@ArcUgo do you mean i have to visit a lawyer to give me a form of an affidavit that we are separated.

Not mandatory if family composition didn't change.

However, my 2cents. It doesn't really cost much to fill the forms.

My PPR has been transferred to Accra from London. My family composition hasn't changed, do I need to complete the IMM008 form and additional family information forms as requested on my PPR letter?

You can only confirm WAEC certificate from WAEC office.
lilshon:
Great work you guys are doing here. The information on the thread is a goldmine.

I'd like to seek some advice. I've gone through the thread thoroughly but I haven't seen any question similar to mine (might be an oversight).

Things is, I'm trying to do my ECA with WES and of course I have to evaluate my WAEC credentials. I happen to have my certificate which means i could make a copy of it myself as opposed to heading to the WAEC office.

My only concern now is the signature/stamp they require on the envelope. Where can I get that ? Will it be accepted if I sign myself ? Would I have to head to their office anyway for that ?

Please advise. Thanks.

You still need to get your fingerprints done.
Download the form and follow the instructions on this site: https://www.gateway.ng/Nigeria-Police-Report
You can call him and discuss on how to proceed. People in earlier threads have discussed posting to him by courier and getting it back. Don't know if it is still an option.

Hope I got your question.
To record degree without claiming points, you input your degree in your EE profile, but answer no to the question, "have you gotten an ECA?"
Spouse of PA can only claim points from work experience if it is Canadian work experience, but the work experience whether Canadian or foreign must be recorded.
Bjaino:
Good Morning All, I have two questions, Can the spouse of a PA not claim point with his degree due to ECA delay and claim point from work experience? (They still meet the crs threshold doing this). Would it raise a case of misrepresentation ? Thank you.
