JackBizzle: 1) There are very few good doctors in Nigeria. Being a good doctor is not just knowing your medical studies and being a smart healer. It is also about treating your patients with patience and kindness. Most Nigerian doctors are either arrogant, frowning or impatient. I met a doctor who did not even touch the broken leg of a patient-the female doctor just shouted- "GO FOR X-RAY!"
2) Medical staff should know how to handle stressful situations. They should also be kind and patient to patients.
============================
Speaking about Nigeria, doctors know nothing about customer care. I ask anyone reading this to count the number of doctors and nurses that smile at patients whenever they go to the hospital. You will find that few smile- most of them are impatient and treat the patients/visitors like sheep.
The new generation of student doctors and nurses know nothing. They don't learn- they just cram because they are have their syllabus rushed by their lecturers. They also learn with faulty equipment.
This is why Joshthefirst (a student doctor) is ignorant about the dangerous levels of formalin he inhales when dissecting dead bodies. His lecturers won't tell him and he lacks the creativity and internet connection at school to learn on his own.
Student nurses and doctors in Nigeria learn to be wicked from hospital matrons and doctors- these students get shouted at and abused while learning in the hospital. This turns some of the students into abusers themselves.
I have doctors and nurses in my family who studied in Europe and then some distant cousins who studied in Nigeria- the difference is quite clear. To avoid being unnecessarily antagonistic, I first point out that its true that we have a lot to work on in medical care in Nigeria, especially on patient relations. But a good doctor also gets the work done amidst these troubles. There are tensions over positional authority amidst medical staff in Nigeria today. And the patients suffer as a result of this. This is being resolved, and I know a lot of cheerful doctors who take good care of their patients. You inflate the bad conditions as usual and make it look like we know nothing and are hopeless. Maybe you had a bad personal experience in the past that has led to your contorted views. I suggest you visit a very good private establishment to resolve your personal issues. As for your mention of the cramming and learning, it shows you as the ignorant pessimist you are. Learning medicine involves repetitive cramming, especially learning anatomy and morbid anatomy and various references and values. And with the sheer volume of work, students will always complain of the limited time. You know basically nothing about the learning of medicine. So shut up lb. And because of the bolded insult to my person, and many others, I will probably never reply or communicate with you on this forum. Goodbye lb. |
Christianity Etc › Re: If Evolution Was Untrue. by Joshthefirst(m): 8:13am On Mar 29, 2016 |
cloudgoddess: Why should it? This goes back to your butchered concept of evolution that is flat out wrong. An organism can not spontaneously adopt traits from nowhere - ALL evolution depends on PRE-EXISTING genetic information, being altered gradually down a genetic lineage. There is no way for a roach to become an elephant for the exact reason you stated. Doing so would directly contradict evolution.
If you mean it will still be an insect, then again, why wouldn't it be? Unfortunately your post is a brilliant rebuttal of itself. According to the evolution theory after long periods of time radical changes to the genome bring about development of more complex species. There is no evidence for this, and your very own statement in the bolded proves this is not true. So you can only mean the adaptive microevolution when you say 'evolution' in the bolded. Pre-existing genetic information cannot lead to the massive systemic macro-changes defined by Darwinian macro-evolution. Insects will still be insects after millions of years. Reptiles will not become aves, and reptiles will not become mammals. |

He's just good at twisting words to deceive the gullible
Sir , I dey lie ? He might say he is an open student of life, so might many others like him, but unfortunately they act like they have beliefs to fight for. And they fight eloquently and valiantly, and aggressively. Without the basic tolerance for anything else. Like a bully in a playground. He may say we're behind a wall of beliefs, but he is behind his own wall, shooting arrows at opponents, and waiting for life or science to validate his worldview, not the other way round |

Muafrika2: It's called genetic engineering. I see no difference.
Probably the decease causing bacteria that will cause an outbreak in the dark continent like AIDS and EBOLA in a few years.
Most of the food we eat and domestic animals are genetically engineered the same way. They take DNA here and inject it there.
It's modification. They used already occuring DNA and bacteria cell. That plaetton can still get away with this story of a thread even after it has been debunked and shown to be a lie shows that there is deep-seated indoctrination and dogma among the atheistic 'students of life'. A living genome was reduced and it equates to creating life. |

What is the point of existence when God knew there would be good and evil, even Man never asked to be created, so why blame Man.
Food for thought. Food for your thought. Man is responsible for his actions. God is a being of love, and he created man with freewill and allowed evil to exist so that he would eventually deal with it forever |

plaetton: That's part of my point.
Are we paying mortgage on the universe or are we paying better infrastructure in the universe?
I, since resting on the 7th day of creation, what exactly has he been up to? What about maintenance ? Sir, I know you may simply be mocking, but I'll answer your question. God handed the earth to an agency he created: Man. Man was in charge of maintenance and management. Until the enemy came in. After that it was things fall apart. Man sought to dominate not just his environment but himself. And suffering was introduced into the world. But the way out has been established. God has been up to executing his master plan ever since. Right now that involves agents and ambassadors of his plan scattered over the world and enlightening man on his universal way out and his provision of a perfect world in the near future. |

We may shout "kill them all"!
But let's mourn also. For young lives deceived into killing and being killed for their religion.
Who knows the suffering and delusion they have known in their life to be able to do this?
Yes, Justice is right in being brought to them, but we must also love them and pray for them.
Every soul has potential. Take a man from darkness and he will flourish in the light. Jesus died for them too.
I mourn for those killed. And those killers who will eventually be killed. |

JackBizzle: Lies! it is your Hippocratic oath (and not your faith) that makes you to give equal care to all.
After all, you wouldn't get married to an atheist, would you? If an atheist is asking for an abortion, would you oblige her? No. If you are to counsel an unmarried humanist who wants to have sex, would you oblige? What does it matter what makes me give equal care to all as far as I give equal care to all. Do you want to start an argument? As for getting married. There are problems that naturally arise when you marry someone who you don't see eye to eye with on certain matters. I wouldn't carry out an abortion because I believe it to be murder. Will you want to infringe on my personal belief? And for the last question, of course I would counsel anyone. But the content of my counsel will not cause any sort of abuse, direct or indirect, and I would give safe medical advice. I already know I'll be a good doctor. |

JackBizzle: I've been in relationships with a Nigerian nurse and a student doctor. I fear you people.
First, you people have a huge course load to cover in short semesters, and so you are rushed by your lecturers. You guys can remain calm in stressful and hard situations
Secondly, dead bodies don't faze you guys. My ex was so excited describing how they crack the cranium open and how they open up the rib cage to access the organs inside.
Thirdly, bleeding/injured people don't faze you guys. I once saw a girl of about 6 years with her left arm cut out- she was being rushed to the emergency unit- I started weeping- the girl was so small and so innocent. My sick brother who was the one that should be consoled was consoling me.
When I told my ex about the small girl who lost her hand, my ex just shrugged!
You guys are too hardened for my liking- you have suffered abuse from lecturers and matrons in the hospital, you have inhaled unhealthy doses on formalin and you have been burdened with so much coursework.
Nna, this is why I will never do operation in Nigeria. Do you know that even the best Nigerian doctors do not smile at patients? I noticed this. They just do their work and get on. Hard!!1 lol. We smile...at least I smile. Smh. Maybe you haven't been seeing the right doctors? I know so many good doctors and cheerful surgeons...The heat isn't so bad and makes us resilient and ready to adapt. Nigerian-trained doctors make some of the best overseas na. And besides, any doctor who is fazed by bleeding or dead bodies or who doesn't know how to remain calm in stressful situations isn't a good doctor. |
