Image123: kay17 no bi Kayode? It must never be a woman ohhh. Ihedinobiiii, good to read you. Bidam: No, na Kathy ![]() |
Ubenedictus: mr judge careful, ola presents a case of a sinner who doesn't feel guilty for his sins, goshen thinks he should be told that he has been saved through faith, the bible doesn't teach that as the right course of action. Instead the right teaching is that of sin and condemnation we have earned according to the law then you proceed to teach that God has offered a way out of sin and e condemnation of the law i.e grace.thank you very much sir, for putting it in better light. |
Logicboy03: Goshen is right.....comot for road! ![]() When did I assume that an unbeliever has no guilt for sin? I thought you said sin didn't exist? Goshen360: Bro, when Paul said in Timothy that the law is not for the righteous but for sinners. You need understand what it means, it tells them what they doing is wrong n show their wrong doings by defining their sins. It doesn't CONVICT them of the sins, the holy spirit does. What is the law doing to a man that commits murder but doesn't stop, rather continues to commit murder?Sir, ola himself said the holyspirit convicts. He didn't deny it. OLAADEGBU: "I don’t feel guilty" |
Kay 17: @joshthefirsthookay!!! I now see where manfrommars was driving to! The bible says man became the god of this world, ie he had dominion over the earth. And he had freewill, that's how evil entered this world, through man's sin. Genesis 1:26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” 27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. 28 Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” 29 And God said, “See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food. 30 Also, to every beast of the earth, to every bird of the air, and to everything that creeps on the earth, in which there is life, I have given every green herb for food”; and it was so. 31 Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. |
Logicboy03: So what was the reason (pls back it up with scripture) God gave for spoiling the effort to build the towerGenesis 6:The Wickedness and Judgment of Man 1 Now it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born to them, 2 that the sons of God saw the daughters of men, that they were beautiful; and they took wives for themselves of all whom they chose. 3 And the Lord said, “My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, for he is indeed flesh; yet his days shall be one hundred and twenty years.” 4 There were giants on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown. 5 Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. 6 And the Lord was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart. 7 So the Lord said, “I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth, both man and beast, creeping thing and birds of the air, for I am sorry that I have made them.” Sin grieves God, men's sin grieved God because he would have to judge them. Men were a single culture and on the basis of this, unrighteousness spread so much that it affected all except noah, who walked with God, and all men perished in the flood except him. The same thing was about to happen in the account of the tower. They were establishing themselves as one culture and people, and unrighteousness was bound to occur once more like before. God would have to judge them like before. To prevent them, he scattered them. It's better to scatter them and judge them differently and singly as different groups of peoples, than wipe most of humanity out again. Genesis 11:The Tower of Babel 1 Now the whole earth had one language and one speech. 2 And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar, and they dwelt there. 3 Then they said to one another, “Come, let us make bricks and bake them thoroughly.” They had brick for stone, and they had asphalt for mortar. 4 And they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city, and a tower whose top is in the heavens; let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be scattered abroad over the face of the whole earth.” The bolded is what you should focus on. If they were allowed to be one people, if unrighteousness multiplied, they would have to be judged as one people, resulting in something like the flood disaster all over again. Genesis 11: 5 But the Lord came down to see the city and the tower which the sons of men had built. 6 And the Lord said, “Indeed the people are one and they all have one language, and this is what they begin to do; now nothing that they propose to do will be withheld from them. 7 Come, let Us go down and there confuse their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.” 8 So the Lord scattered them abroad from there over the face of all the earth, and they ceased building the city. Do you see now? In scattering them, God prevented a world wide judgement from occuring again, at least before its time, in accordance with his promise to noah. Do you understand now? Any objections? |
Sincere 9gerian: How? This thread is very harmless. In fact, it will help some people release bottled up anger and frustrations. You never can tell what may happen to some people if avenues such as this is not created. We dont want to see sharp increase in suicide rate. ![]() |
Logicboy03: What truth? that god was offended by the men's ability to build a tower into the sky?why would almighty God be offended by their ability to build a tower? When men are busy building towers and entering space? Try to use energy to ask rational questions about Gods motives and judgements and decisions instead of wasting useful brainpower trying to discredit God . You just end up wasting your time sounding absurd and falling flat on your face like I said.![]() |
Logicboy03: of course God is aware of the formidable power of man's creative ability.....God was scared of the tower of babel....I've explained the tower of babel issue many times. I'm sure enough people have grabbed the truth. |
Logicboy03:how does God, giving a law about covetting, rule people's wives as their property? What is wrong with you? So God could not be saying: You should not covet anything that isn't yours? Smh. At least the joke you gave was mildly funny. |
aManFromMars: Was man created with a power to create? Was God aware of what this power could do? THE IMPACT it could have if used wrongly?man only makes from available resources, not creates. And yes, God was and is still very aware of this formidable power and the consequences of using this power wrongly. God created man with an intellect. A superior one. One that connotes his very image. PS: this debunks every single claim that our intellect would be useless in heaven. |
aManFromMars: Apply the 3rd definition to Jesus's quote I posted. ''Ye are gods''so?? What are you driving at? |
Logicboy03: My wife is not my property. Try again...with better sophistrysmhsmhsmhsmh Is your wife yours? When did God claim that one's wife is his property first? |
Logicboy03: Hannah, Elisabeth and Mary were not prophets. Neither did I claim that there were no female prophets. READ AGAINyahweh is not sexist. This thread is just pathetic. Chai... If this is your best, nawa o. Na only God go help you. ![]() Let me ask you one question relating to number 2 subsection 1; Is your wife yours? |
![]() This is just wrong ma'am |
Deborah. Anna. Hannah. Elisabeth. Mary. Epic failure. |
Ihedinobi: Wait o! Na confam say Kay 17 na woman?!you no know say na woman she be?! ![]() |
aManFromMars: You need help figuring it out?a supreme being. That's what that verse was talking about isn't it(its an innocent question). noun 1. the one Supreme Being, the creator and ruler of the universe. 2. the Supreme Being considered with reference to a particular attribute: the God of Islam. 3. one of several deities, especially a male deity, presiding over some portion of worldly affairs. ![]() |
Goshen360: I thought you know better than what you wrote up there. That the gospel of grace is for only believers? I can't believe you said that. What gospel are you saved by? Law? Did you obey any ten commandments when you were a sinner to get saved? Gospel of grace saved us and we continue in it. It is BY GRACE YOU ARE SAVED THROUGH FAITHbut the preaching of the law in the gospel convicts the sinner of his sins, not so? Sin which is the breaking of the law. And repentance based on grace which is God not inputing the punishment of your sins on you since Jesus has died and resurrected? I thought being saved had foremost evidence in repentance from sin? |
aManFromMars: Dwell on it. It will make sense after a while.smh. |
aManFromMars: John 10:34 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods? ![]() |
aManFromMars: But man was able to corrupt that which his creator had made.correct. And before you start to claim that perfection means that creation could not be corrupted, think again: per·fect/ˈpərfikt/ Adjective: Having all the required or desirable elements, qualities, or characteristics; as good as it is possible to be Verb: Make (something) completely free from faults or defects, or as close to such a condition as possible |
Kay 17: Good.yes, and according to the historical account, it was good. |
Kay 17: ^ Questions none of you answered.it would give hope and promise. It would give salvation from the source of suffering and hope of complete remedy from the terrible effects of suffering itself |
Logicboy03: Smh. Do you even watch anime at all? ![]() What is it? I stopped watching anime some time ago. Edit: does naruto not contain techniques? |
Kay 17: Is God obliged to follow such absolute morals too?those morals are part of Gods nature which is good. He is obliged to keep his word, yes. |
Logicboy03: Doesn't follow. Or do u have an anime in mind?naruto? |
I attempted replying twice, before realizing that I had nothing to say apart from the usual. |
Logicboy03: The other guys weren't there when I needed support ![]() Why do you always take things too personal. Smh. |
Logicboy03: How does that follow?it follows from the way you make up techniques based on your perception of people's characters. "Ihedinobi misunderstood sophist technique" "Annonyism" Etc |
Ihedinobi: So now it's me you're obssesed with, Logicboyhe watches too much anime |
^^^ why do you keep asking the same questions? Do you want to know the solution God has given in this present world? Come to him on his own terms. Own up to him and acknowledge who you really are before him. Then ask him to answer your questions. And guide you into truth Come, ma'am. Come and see. |
Kay 17: Human morals? So you now believe there is no absolute morality?lol. This is what happens when I read too much posts on nairaland. There is absolute morality to which our consciences bear witness. Sorry if the words carried a different meaning. I should have quoted "human morals" |
